How's RC2 testing coming along?

Testing is ongoing and progressing well. If anyone would like to join the testing our community is welcome.
Info on how to participate on our blog: http://blog.factom.org.

A big thank you to everyone who has been helping so far.  Smiley

Dev, does any exchange will start the FACTOM trade when we release?

Yes there will be, we are in talks with a few but we should be able to have ShapeShift and Cryptsy to start with.

Dear fartbags, we will rest our case as your points make no sense, the community can see that for themselves.
We have nothing to hide.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: August 22, 2015, 10:48:24 AM
Again, no Factoids were sold at a better price than the sale price, including the early investors sale.
Koinify had nothing to do with the pre-sale, nor the early contributors funds. Also Koinify have stopped doing crowdsales as they are working on a new product.
We believe there is a lack of information from the comments above. All the info on how the sale was going to happen and details about distribution of Factoids was ready available on the sale site.

All of the Factoids will be in the Genesis Block all at once including sale tokens, the pre-sale tokens and the early contributors tokens.

The total number of early Factoids that will be in circulation is also public and has been posted in previous discussion on this thread.
Also early investors as well as early contributors and token sale contributors will have the same opportunity to use their Factoids with the Beta Wallet once released. Nobody will receive Factoids before anybody else.
They will also be able to trade them once exchanges start supporting Factoids. Saying that early investors or contributors who were assigned a number of Factoids will have more incentive for
the price to go up is wrong because even token sale contributors will have the exact same incentive.

Last but not least Factom is not the first project to hold a pre-sale, do your research beforehand.

Dear fartbags and NextGenCrypto your assumptions are your assumptions, lets consider them for what they are.
When we hosted our token sale it was clearly stated that 20% of the Factoids were reserved for early investors, that is no secret, everyone before purchasing Factoids was able to find that information.
As David mentioned we cannot disclose the names of the people who participated in the early sale, is that what are you looking for, the names of the people?

Their funds helped Factom develop its software since 2014, without them we wouldn't have been able to be where we are now.

David also mentioned: The Genesis block will show the amounts of Factoids owned by all participant addresses that took part in the early sale (20%), main sale (50%), and the early contributors (30%).

That is where you'll be able to see where all the Factoids are.

Is there a windows version when beta launches?

We will update on that, at the beginning it will be command line. But we haven't defined what binaries will be available for the full beta.
We will try to make it available for as many platforms as possible.

Netki + Factom announce partnership

We are proud to announce a new partnership. Netki Wallet Names now support Factoids and Entry Credits. Netki has implemented
these address types into their consumer and partner offerings. All changes are live, and they have updated their API documentation.
Netki users can go to their Wallet Admin, and add Factoid and Entry Credit addresses to their Wallet Name. These addresses can be
static or a URL to an endpoint that dynamically generates addresses. The Factom and Netki collaboration means more friendly address
for users. Netki has removed a barrier for mass-market adoption of the Factom system.

The experienced and innovative team at Netki is focused on building reliable, scalable, secure, mass-market solutions that will help digital
currency reach its full potential. They are here to support the community and help bring another truly game-changing technology to the world.

Find out more about the Netki, Inc. partnership on our blog.

Will there be a simple .exe file for newbies when Factom Beta is released, or we need to install a bunch of softwares and there is only command line in wallet as Frontier of Ethereum, it's so terrible for non-programmers, and most investors of this project are not programmers.
I saw so many complaints of this thing when Frontier release in Ethereum, please take is seriously.

.......

Not at the beginning, the beta will be a command line tool and will require installations of requirements.
There will be a GUI and a easier to use binaries in future releases.

You've got to be fucking kidding me...all of those funds and you can't release a simple GUI with the first release?

This will dump exactly like Ether did.  If anyone wants to buy mine off me, let me know.  This is nonsense.

We haven't received any funds yet, they are held in a multisig until we complete our milestones.
You will be able to get your Factoids out of Koinify, there won't be a GUI but there will be step by step instructions on how to create a Factoid address and import your Factoids from Koinify.
Work is in progress, and there will be a easy to use wallet as part of the second milestone.

If there is no issue according to your step-by-step instruction, that's good, but actually there will be various of issues which are very tricky for non-programmers just as Ethereum, they have lots of instructions too but there are still many guys who can't make their wallet working or mining. It's simple to you guys since you are very familiar with what you do but it's very very hard for newbies.

We do take feedback seriously, the dev team is investigating what can be done to make it easier for our supporters to use Factoids.
We'll try our best to make our wallet work for as many people as possible.

Is trading going to happen 3rd quarter as promised? or are we possibly looking at 4th q or further out?

We expect some exchanges to support Factoids as soon as a wallet is available, this should be when we release our beta in the next few weeks.
Various exchanges have expressed interest.

What was the crowdsale price and how many Factoms would be in future

Token sale price varied from 2000 factoids to 1500 per BTC at different sale stages.
We can't eastimate exactly how many factoids there will be in the future but once the network goes live a percentage of initial factoids (about 8 million)
will be generated each year by the network to reward federated servers to help support the platform.

Interesting white paper.

I may have missed it, but how are you sending transactions to Bitcoin from Factom in order to record a hash of an activity?

Is Factom actually using Bitcoins as entry credits or something similar?

Federated servers will be hashing entries on the Bitcoin blockchain. To do that they will have to hold some BTC for the Tx fees.
Factoids get converted to entry credits which allow to hash entries through Factom but ultimately there is still need for BTC to anchor the entries to the blockchain.

This is third quarter, when will this show hit the road?

Shouldn't be much longer, we are releasing weekly updates on progress.
The Beta will be released once Release Candidate 2 is out and has been thoroughly tested.

another crowd sale and we still waiting on factoids. bullshit.
Angry Angry Angry Huh Huh Huh
maybe get one project done then move on to the next one?
just maybe Huh

Factoids are coming soon. We have been releasing regular updates on progress and will continue to do so.
The software is undergoing testing and we want to make sure it's stable enough before releasing.
See above for the latest updates and also check our GitHub if you want to get involved with testing.

The founding round is for Factom Inc. which is separate from the Factom Foundation.
Factom Inc. has been setup to help businesses who want to integrate our tech and expand user base.
It will be essential to drive demand for Factoids at the same time as more and more companies use Factom.

Also the funding round is not taking time away from our development efforts.

We appreciate the feedback, rest assured our developers and community testers are hard at work to deliver as soon as feasibly possible.
