Hey All

So I want to help the bitcoin network..

I have downloaded bitcoin core.

It is currently syncing to the network.

Port 8333 is being ported to the server.

I assume this is all correct and i'm contributing .., would it benefit running more and more nodes of my servers that currently have little or no load? Or having too many in the same location doesn't benefit the network?

Cheers!

I understand the initial get rich quick phase is now over... I am a true believer that good things comes to those that wait. I don't mind waiting a year or two and let me mining machines keep plodding away and then cash out when things get a little better... but as i keep seeing more and more big firms taking on the payment of bitcoin it feels me with more and more hope that this will in the first or second quarter of 2015...

Does anyone else agree with me on this one?

Hi, it simply says waiting for mining pool. And no hashing.

With willing to spend 80k you should research much much more into it if you're asking if it's cheaper to plug and play the components because you're going to lose a LOT of money if you don't look deeper.

In the sense of looking deeper could you expand on that, the reason I'm on this forum is to do research.. So any information would be great.

Cheers

Yeah, the Microsoft thing was really great news for Bitcoin! Just look at how the price went to the Moon in a ro...

Uh, right, guys ...? The price went to the Moon, right? Just as it did with the Expedia-, Dell-, Overstock-, PayPal- and other "good" news of large merchants "accepting" Bitcoin ...?

 Roll Eyes

I'd be very surprised if we're not sub 300 on January 1st 2015.

Bitcoin is finding its real price , after that it will boom again like the 3 other times before.
If you don't have trust in bitcoin why are you even here ?
Maybe you bought in at 900 dollars ?

Bit coin will rise in 2015.....watch this space....

Hi All

I have been trying to connect a Spondoolies SP10 to the G.Hash.IO mining pool and nothing i do seems to work.. try rebooting, complete power down etc and it never seems to work. But then as soon as i try and connect back to slush pool it connects straight away no problems...

Do anyone know if im doing something wrong/?

93  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bitcoin Wallets and Withdrawing to Bank Account on: December 10, 2014, 09:39:10 PM
Really simple question...

Whats the best way to store your bit coin while mining and then withdrawing them to your bank account for cold hard cash?

Thanks
94  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom Rigs... Hardware on: December 08, 2014, 10:33:14 PM

thanks - but while you are busy shooting up your comment is useless to the conversation

...and those rigs are not 'custom'
[/quote]

If they are not custom where can you buy the bare bones to create the units yourself?

Thanks
95  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Fire hazard and bitcoin mining at home on: December 08, 2014, 07:47:24 PM
This thread is a interesting read. Myself a Electrical Engineer as a Trade knows simply.... If you decide to mine at home make sure you have properly worked out the current load on the circuit and calculate the new load of be added. Also allow a further 10% for movement.

Again making sure you use the correct sized power cable and not the cheap cable you get free with your monitor!. The more copper you have in the cable the more the heat can be dispersed.

Once you have all the above sorted a good RCD wouldn't go a miss!

I would be interested to see the pictures of this fire as 9/10 fires come from human error!.

I am very tempted with the thought of renting out or space for colo. We are always being offered half price deals if we extend the foot print of our current cages so this may be a feasible option but on the other hand I don't think I would be in the position to throw money at someone to design me a website just for colo. I would probably only advertise on forums like this and see what happens.

Biffa

Thanks for taking the time and having a look at our website,

The reason I haven't thought about going down the route of colocated miners is due to the nature of our business we would not allow any other person other than a employee inside our racks/cage.

Unless your saying they send the item to our office and we rack it ourself.. Would this work?

Personally I would like to use some of it for our own purpose aswell... Always nice to see something working for your money!!

Thanks

I appreciate this will produce alot of heat and i think i have got this covered by building a few custom rigs of fans, the cage has cold aisle so forcing nice cold air through to the back will hopefully help things.. As they say the proof is in the pudding! I will be keeping a close eye when they first boot up.

SFMiner

I agree its rather alot of money... But from reading around you need to put a small chunk in to get a decent ROI. I have had a look at the offers you detailed, what is your opinion on the better provider.. Spondoolies. or a S4?
I currently have a few SP10 running testing the waters and if they come back with the projected results then ill be jumping in with both feet!

As for power i will be using already un used power so the cost is pretty much 0. Which is great and will mean my ROI is alot quicker!

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, hopefully ive answered your questions good enough,

1. Why do you want to build your own custom rig vs. buying one from Bitmain or Spondoolies?

Personally i think for these companies to be in business they have to put some sort of mark up  for adding the components together and making these units pretty much plug and play.... I assume im correct in saying this?

2. How much are you looking to spend?

Max £80k

3. Where are you located?

UK

I currently have a lot of space/power left un used in a few of our cages around the UK so seems silly to not have 90% of the power used.

I hope this has given you enough information.

Many Thanks

Having a look through the web and can never seem to find the answer to my question...

Looking at all the companies that create their own mining equipment like..spondoolies, ant miner etc... does anyone know where to purchase the blades on there own and use something like a raspberry pi to control a bank of 10 or something like that?

Anyone know?

Thanks Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
