As an Android user myself I want the new Android wallet just as much as everyone else here Smiley Don't worry it is definitely coming...

Configure runs fine with nothing unusual. Upon completion there seems to be no QT wallet generated. I can see what appears to be its building during build sequence. Never run into this compiling other wallets. Help please. Thanks in advance.
In theory if configure is running fine and it is building then the binary should be there, are you possibly looking in the wrong place?
Output binary is "src/qt/Gulden"

If you are sure the binary is not being built then you might want to try this part of the instructions on our github repo:
Quote
For older distributions with outdated autotools the above process may fail, a source tarball is available for these distributions.
https://developer.gulden.com/download/155/Gulden155-linux.tar.gz To build from source tarball follow these steps:
    tar -zxvf Gulden155-linux.tar.gz
    ./configure
    make
i.e. build from the tarball instead of from the repo.

Alternatively you could try upgrade to a newer version of autotools so that aclocal can run correctly, but this may be a bit finicky.
The reason you have not seen this on other coins is that most altcoins are also on codebases that are several years old (out of date) so have quite a different build system - Gulden keeps up with the latest bitcoin changes and as a result has moved to the newer autotools based build system.

Hope this helps, let me know if you continue to have issues.

Will Gulden be hard forking to multi-algo like Auroracoin?

No, we have reviewed it a while ago together with some other algo's and decided not to. Because we enjoy the luxury of having a pretty capable dev team we decided to develop our own algo called DELTA, instead of copypasting. A tailormade solution suits us better.

At least you being innovative and not copying other coins, if you ever do copy Multi-Algo please give myraidcoin the credit it deserves and not the coin that pretend they developed it.

Gulden is leading on it's own path.
Indeed, Prime is going to be very exciting and a game changer in several respects.

Will Gulden be hard forking to multi-algo like Auroracoin?
No, it was discussed over a year ago and was decided against, we have other much more exciting and original development planned.

Whatever went wrong with hardcoreminers seems to have been fixed.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re:                              Gulden NLG                              DELTA PRIME on: March 11, 2016, 03:48:27 PM
Hardcoreminers is currently experiencing some sort of difficulty, if you are currently pointing hash at the NLG Hardcoreminers pool please redirect it toward a different Gulden pool until the issue is rectified.

Hi Gulden team,

What is timeframe for beta testing on android?

When it is ready™

Seriously though, development is going well, but we are doing real development here, not just some quick half-arsed name changes like other coins tend to do. This wallet is intended to actually be used, and not just used but to outshine all existing wallets that currently exist, not just to fill some check box on a sheet of features we have.
This sort of development takes time, especially when done by people who have other jobs, that said we are still well on track for sometime in March, exactly when I can't say yet as it depends on how various things go.

Question what has this coin actually to bring to the table compared to the other 2 dutch coins?
They have been here for a while, and you have just started.
I like the work you already have done because, you are actually going to meetings and have adds for free coins!

But Holland is a small country's with not a lot of people so why will this coin succeed where the other 2 have failed?

You are confused. Gulden is not new at all but has been around since April 2014. (Unlike one of the other coins you have mentioned which only launched last year August)
You can see the timeline here https://timeline.gulden.com/2014 for more information on the various achievements of the coin thus far.

In short however Gulden is the only one of the three 'Netherlands based' coins (and one of only a few international coins) that has a proper development team with a history of actually delivering meaningful progress.
You should join the slack where you can discuss some more with the community if you would like more information.

44% Sold

How many of the new coins total will there be??

Thanks Smiley

1.68 billion in total but there is a long mining period. We will be 6 feet under before all the coins are released.
This is one coin scrypt miners should really support for the long term.
I think he means the physical coins.

I'm having problem with my wallet it keeps crashing and I had 617. coins and then it crash now it saying 524. and it only showing 2 deposit of 100. each there should 6 deposit showing and it not last deposit of 108. coins  it not there  not sure what should do...

Desktop wallet or one of the mobile wallets?

Assuming it is desktop...
What operating system? Are these coins you are mining, if so it is possible that e.g. one of your blocks got orphaned and therefore the reward would have 'vanished' (mining rewards are never a certain thing until they have enough confrimations)
If it crashes again please send me a copy of the debug.log in a private message (or on slack) and we can look into it.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re:                Gulden NLG               PRIME = INSTANT CONFIRMS on: January 31, 2016, 08:37:34 PM
As a general rule of thumb I would consider the desktop wallet - with password encryption enabled - as safer for large sums of money than the mobile ones - which is not to say that mobile wallets are massively insecure or anything like that, just that due to their nature mobile devices are more prone to theft and/or other problems.
Cold storage - if done right - is of course the most secure of all, but is massive paranoia/overkill in most cases.

Congrats to the Nocks team on their latest announcement, fantastic stuff!

That was quick!! Was going to donate .4 btc today. This android wallet is the most exciting update for me.
What is the feedback with the new iOS wallet, has anyone from the community tested it at a bitcoin merchant?
@Buerra is development still being done on Nocks or is all the focus on the mobile wallets?
Mobile wallet dev work is still being done by dev team, nocks are just acting as the "publisher" so that we can submit to Apple through an actual company.
Nocks team is still free to work on all their own projects (which I believe they still have many of and are working hard on), mobile wallets not interfering much with that, though the Nocks guys are of course assisting us in various ways with testing etc. as well Smiley

Please make this for Android ASAP. This will make life very easy for payments and I won't be scared to buy more Gulden. Why iOS first when there is more android users in the world?
The iOS wallet was in need of an update more urgently than the Android one so had to be the focus first, adding the nocks payment was only a small part of the update.
The Android wallet will get a similar update when it is its turn.

Wow, go away on holiday for a week and come back to more negative junk about a forum.

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks a forum is somehow magically the secret to success is utterly delusional, stop and think about what you are saying, it is crazy. We don't need another 10 ways for the (50? 100? 200?) people who currently use Gulden to communicate, what we need is ways to grow that user base to 20000+ or 200000+ - I assure you there is no way that a forum will achieve this.
A forum is so simple that a 5 year old could launch one, it does not require the expertise of the dev team, if and when there is actually a real demand for another forum one will simply appear without the need for incessant talk about it, this is how markets work. The dev team are highly experienced programmers with limited time an incredibly scarce and valuable resource, and the best idea you can have to use this valuable resource on is to have them constantly mess around with forums?

If you want another forum, go ahead make one, but if you think it will suddenly cause Gulden to go mainstream or the price to triple you are in for a huge disappointment, only real meaningful progress and development (like t he new iOS wallet) can achieve that and that is what the dev team will carry on focusing on, not yet another forum....

Friendly reminder, fix your ios app it doesnt even work, also android last update was in march!

The new android wallet is for Gulden, you are looking at guldencoin. It was updated a month ago.
iOS wallet is having sync issues for me but I am getting the same problem with the digibyte iOS wallet.

Waterloodown said there is a new iOS wallet coming last week but must of been delayed.

Yes, indeed, android wallet is here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gulden.androidwallet.nlg
"Updated November 4, 2015"

Regarding iOS. The initial iOS port has been working and ready for a few weeks now with testing ongoing and pending one final extra special feature we want to add for this release.
We are not copy paste developers who just take other peoples code and change a few variables/names without understanding whats going on (like many other coins) but actually take time reading the code to understand what it does, altering the code in such a way that we can actually keep up with new bugs and features from upstream in future, adding new Gulden specific features, testing the code to make sure it works right and improving the code where necessary.
This unfortunately sometimes takes a while, if we wanted to put out garbage we could be a lot faster but we don't Smiley At the same time putting in the extra effort now, means that in future we can keep on putting out new wallets at a much faster pace, so it is extra up from time now to ensure there is not a lot of wasted time in future, development done *right*.

We are also not full time - and have to keep up with our regular full time jobs - and have lost a lot of development time to handle the update after the double spend attack, I personally had to put off my normal work for a day or two so that we could handle that with the appropriate urgency it deserved and while that is fine (I fortunately have the luxury of being able to do that sometimes) it now means I have a backlog of work to catch up on Smiley This is an unfortunate reality for now until we grow to the point where we have a ton of full time developers.

The above said, the new iOS wallet is looking great and will be out real soon (the submission process to Apple will of course take a while), we are really excited for this release and for the future of this wallet once we start making more changes to it. 2016 is going to be an exciting year.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] [GULDEN] Gulden.com — Coming early 2016: Prime on: December 04, 2015, 01:25:07 PM
Gulden has dropped position from the low 40s to mid 50s on coinmarketcap. Other coins have performed better in price but not in real value as Gulden has added more development where other  coins have done nothing.
This can only be attributed to a loss in community. Slack is not a replacement for a forum as I cant browse the discussions taking place. Lots of "guest" users read the forums that don't worry about registering but want to see what is being discussed.

I think that is oversimplifying a bit, to name a few factors I can think of and by no means an exhaustive list:
1) We had an unfortunate (albeit temporary) setback with the iOS wallet and Apple - some investors will be waiting to see the end result here before they commit further, if iOS was important to them.
2) We then had, as you will know, a huge prolonged public fight (over an embarrassingly silly thing) including a reckless and large sell wall and some crazy pump action, this sort of thing does not inspire confidence and it will take some time for the damage of this to be reversed.
3) We then suffered an attack, which while we responded quickly to it is again going to leave some people somewhat demoralised for now.
4) Due to the above our Bittrex wallet was offline for a few days, which again will make traders nervous for a while until they return, especially the cautious ones who aren't following closely what actually goes on with the coin.
5) This coincides also with a slightly 'dry' period for releases/news - which will soon come to an end but is unfortunately timed with all the other things above and also as the dev team had to concentrate on the attack our latest release has been delayed a bit.
6) Then BTC is on the up which makes some people want to hold BTC rather and/or potentially cash out
7) Finally it is the end of the year, which means that people will be spending money on gifts for their loved ones, holidays, and other things, meaning less money to speculate on NLG with.

All of these things and more will be combining right now, and have left everyone a bit tired and demoralised, yet despite that the price actually has held relatively steady. This is actually a good thing.
Over time more news will roll in, great new releases will come out, the forum drama and attacks will become a distant memory, we will enter the new year with a renewed energy and carry on forward.

The high BTC price also makes it much easier for coins with very high supply to 'manipulate' there 'market cap' on coinmarketcap - coinmarketcap remains in my opinion one of the absolutely worst indicators to compare currencies based on.

Regarding slack I don't see anyone claiming it is a replacement for forums, they are different, yes they compete to an extent (they are both communication tools) but they do not have a 100% overlap.
Slack is real time, which allows for faster communication, it allows for better bonding, it is a much better place to actually get to know people, form bonds, create friends or partnerships. You will find people casually talking about stuff on Slack that you would never see come up on a forum. It is as a result also a great incubator for ideas and projects and for spontaneous teams to form for these projects. The realtime nature causes people to be themselves and more honest because there is less time to think about replies. People can get instant help. etc. etc.
At the same time forums are also great, they allow much more thought and much slower communication, so they are a good place to have discussions that require lots of thought, they are also a great place for news to go, where people who only check by occasionally can catch up with goings on. To have the sort of discussion that takes place on slack take place on a forum actually undermines the usefulness of a forum, we have over 14k messages in a single week on slack. Imagine coming once a month to check up on a forum and there are 50k messages, where to even begin? (Yes the topics help to an extent but not entirely)

In short they both serve a purpose, at the end of the day people will use what they are comfortable with, and nobody can force them not too, we cannot force people onto the forums just so that people who only read forums do not feel left out, just as we are not forcing anyone onto Slack.
For now there has been a large swing to Slack as clearly it is what people currently prefer (and also because it is new), but I am sure over time and as the project grows, you will see the forums also picking up again, the two will work together to form a better synergy than either can provide alone. And hopefully other mediums like Reddit/Facebook and whatnot will also play a role.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] [GULDEN] Gulden.com — Important update 1.5.5 on: November 23, 2015, 10:25:08 AM
I agree with de buurman. It wouldn't be EFL , it would be stupid of them knowing they also open for 51% attack and same goes for AUR. Which only leaves psychoticboy working with GRS developers but what motive would the GRS developers have for hurting Gulden? They have never come on here saying bad things about Gulden and never been a war between the coins like they have with digibyte.
I'd venture that the mere fact that they have done any attack once to any coin is enough to cast suspicion on them as a suspect, as it is a display that they are not 'above' doing such a thing, while most other people would never consider doing such a thing, it is never really acceptable to attack any other coin no matter what the circumstances...
I (and many others) could do immense damage right now if I wanted to, to any number of altcoins that are on old code bases or are PoW without check pointing, but we won't because we have ethics.

However that aside, unless someone has some actual proof (in which case please do come forward with it) it is all just speculation, and I don't think speculation can cause anything other than harm, so I say let us move on and focus on what we have always done building something awesome, let us not associate with those who only want to tear things down and destroy.
We can sit and make theories about who did this, or we can move on and do something constructive, I choose the second option and I hope that everyone else will also.

Reminder to all to make frequent backups of your wallets, and keep the backups in a safe place where they can't be compromised, ideally enable encryption on your wallets and keep them locked when not transacting for security purposes.
