81  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 15, 2015, 11:47:15 PM
Mark could have used Mt. Gox to money laundry the dirty cash for the Silk Road. It think it is more plausible than the pumping theory.

He could do pumping by a bot, why bother by using real fiat from the Silk Road?
82  Bitcoin / Legal / Auction proceeds from silk road should be distributed to Mt. Gox victims on: January 15, 2015, 11:29:47 PM
It is the same MK behind both schemes. For this reason, it is fair enough for the US Marshalls to distribute the auction proceeds to Mt. Gox victims.

Anyone who agrees with this idea should send a lawyer letter to US Marshalls and claim your loss back!

oh boy, is this good or bad news?  Huh

Good news. Bitcoin will not only appears in IT news and business news, but will also appears in entertainment news.

Willy bot's story was bad...that one is terrible. Most bearish thing I've read lately. Disturbingly plausible but still highly suspicious that it gets "revealed" precisely today. Great FuD event anyhow. BTC never disappoint.

The story of Mt. Gox and Silkroad is more and more like a drama. I believe it will attract eyeballs for bitcoin.

Maybe Hollywood wants to shoot a movie about this, which further promote the public awareness of bitcoin.

Name: "The Wolf of the Silkroad"?

why do i think of Keyser Soze?

that adam guy implied that he knows who dumped the 50k
did karpeles dump them as a big "fuck you" wave goodbye?

fuck...twitter is down

Could be the case. FBI, CIA and all other country's special forces should put a manhunt on Karpeles!

If anyone see this fuck on street, dial 911 immediately.

I wish him an ending just like Bin Laden.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is dumping BTC? on: January 15, 2015, 10:14:54 PM
Tim Draper

(lol this is the speculation section correct?) Roll Eyes

Not Tim Draper. He invested most of his coins into several bitcoin startups and VCs.

And it is not in his interest to dump it this low.

I believe it is one EVIL exchange that uses dump and pump to get rich quick.

Plot twist: Adam Gerbuez tweet was about Karpeles being the mastermind behind SR. SR coins taken by the feds are Gox coins.

Still, I don't see how this affects the price  Cheesy
He is just some dude with some insider info.

He was trying to pump the price before the crash lol

Too bad that most of the time news or insider info do NOT move price (not major moves anyway), it's an illusion.

I think it's serious big news..

When it is not big news, no one will take him seriously anymore..

He probably doesn't even know what's happening, hence the vague tweets. But there may be some news tomorrow - Bitcoin conference in Miami...

How come a meeting becomes so important? Must be something else I think.

Surprise announcement by winklevoss related to ETF?

I don't know. But I hope the big news happens during the time we are awake, rather than the time Chinese are awake.

In the first case, we can earn the first bite of the profit.

Yes, this bottom looks like the October one and it is AT LEAST a medium term bottom.

Pull up bitcoinwisdom and look at finex or stamp on a longer timeframe chart (say 6 hours) and zoom out. Look at the volume! Now compare it with the bottom at 275.

If your point is we had MORE buy volume on Oct. 4th at 275, then I agree with you.  And look at where we are now.  I don't see this as reversal.

A reversal is when you can go to a 30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 6h, and 12h chart and all see the same thing:  rising price on rising volume.

Its possibly a short term reversal. It'll go back down. Here is how $ 275 played out after. .  broke down

Based on the October event, we may face a similar bear attack once we reach $250 in 24 hours.

Think so too. But gut feel, it wont go as low as $ 166. The panic from a breakdown from $ 250 to sub $200 might be enough to buy up coins left from this bottom. Or maybe not.

Judging by the volume of the panic sale, I doubt very few cheap coins are still held by the weak hands.

Huobi is back online.

Some interesting Ideas on this chart: https://www.tradingview.com/v/lonXBeb6/

This guy also post additional factors.

I think RSI lower than 30, Stochastic & Stochastic RSI lower than 20 are telling the same story that this bottom is the same as the October bottom.

Huobi is back online now.

Who promised panic selling would start again, because of Huobi?

The volume is thin because many still didn't believe in the reversal yet. Volume will catch up once people confirmed it as a reversal.

The volume difference is due to the unclosed gap from $280. Once we fill that gap up, the green volume bar should be on par with the red volume bar just like the October bottom.

Huobi has been DDOS attacked since Jan 11, 2015. It seems the DDOS is from the USA, so we may experience very slow response.

But some Chinese guys claim they can access it without a problem.

I guess their competitors like OKcoin, 796 did this attack.

Paid DDOS attack is very cheap nowadays. If you can afford several thousand, you can hire a group to do it for you.

Price going back up to 280ish in the next week or so.

Everyone who got in sub - 200, bravo!

Be greedy when others are fearful. Always right.

Yup. People had so much fear during the summer of 2013, when the price dropped to 420 and stayed there for 3.5 months.  But then it bounced to 680!  Man, those greedy investors bagholders sure are lucky they overcame their fear by buying and holding at 420.   Roll Eyes

Yes but from this $680 there was not even once we got up above only down.

When the short swaps are historical high, it serves as a reversal signal. Not to mention the double bottom, the super high volume at the bottom.

If this is not a bottom by TA definition, what is a bottom? Even if it is not THE FINAL BOTTOM, it could be deemed as a medium term bottom.

The panic selling has been released, the bottom was formed and the trend is up.

The rest, you go figure it out.

Guys, I told you to "buy on dip". The push from $230 to $210 by bears could be deemed as a dip and is a very good buying opportunity.
