Yep, and makes a welcome change from the excuse making that Obama has been doing for the last six and a half years for every U.S. soil based act of violence committed by an Islamic terrorist.

US President Obama has no such thing.... anymore then he made excuses for the recent Christian mass murders.
82  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Latest: Biden: Chattanooga shooter a perverted jihadist on: August 16, 2015, 12:21:05 PM
First the Obama administration doesn't believe in such thing as U.S. Islamic Jihadists -- which is why Obama had Major Hasan declared a committer of workplace violence. Second the FBI hasn't found any evidence that the Islamic terrorist was in fact an Islamic Terrorist. So Biden just went massively off the White House script for such things in general and for this event in particular. It is in other words a typically delicious incident of Biden being . . . Biden.

This then is the man that many Dems are trying like hell to get to commit to running for the presidency. Oh, and I do hope that Joe does just exactly that! The opportunity for laughter would be endless.

that was done because it was done by a US solider at the place he worked.... had it been a outsider it would of been labeled differently, it was one of their own that went postal
83  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Latest: Biden: Chattanooga shooter a perverted jihadist on: August 16, 2015, 12:18:25 PM
He had better check with his boss before he speaks. Obama doesn't see it that way.

I am sure he feels exactly the same way as do most Americans

we may not be able to find official proof, but I think we all know what he was and why he did it
84  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Latest: Biden: Chattanooga shooter a perverted jihadist on: August 16, 2015, 12:14:00 PM
Not sure what the outrage is about?

me either, sounds about right to me....

""These perverse ideologues, warped theocrats, they may be able to inspire a single lone wolf to commit a savage act, but they can never, never threaten who we are," Biden said. "When this perverted jihad struck, everyone responded.""

I see no issue calling religious nuts that go on killing sprees perverts... be they a jihad by Muslims, Christians, Racists, whatever... they are definitely perverts or whatever other derogatory name one wants to call them

Biden makes many gaffs, but I do not think this was one of them....
85  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Latest: Biden: Chattanooga shooter a perverted jihadist on: August 16, 2015, 12:09:36 PM
"The Latest: Biden: Chattanooga shooter a perverted jihadist"

the right is upset cause he called the shooter "perverted"?

the Christian shooter at the theater was "perverted"

most if not all of these killers are crazy imo, some crazy killers pervert their religion and think they are doing Gods work

all religious nuts are "perverted"
86  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 29 U.S. Scientists Praise Iran Nuclear Deal on: August 10, 2015, 11:23:16 AM
If you watched the seven Republican second tier candidates have their debate Thursday afternoon, Sen. Graham came out very strongly in favor of invading Iran led by American troops with Arab allies, supposedly to stop their march toward a nuke and teach them a lesson about exporting terrorism. He'd also invade Syria at the same time, but that would be pretty much a side war.

Of course he did he is a warmonger... But dont forget this same guy stood right with Obama to arm these "Rebels" to being with.

2 sides of the same coin.
87  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 29 U.S. Scientists Praise Iran Nuclear Deal on: August 10, 2015, 11:10:08 AM
Most of the "genuinely credible experts" are for the deal.

The exception are the neo cons. You know, the guys who said the Iraq war would last six months and be self financing and that there was no tension between Sunni and Shia muslims.

Schumer and Engel are Neo-Cons?
88  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 29 U.S. Scientists Praise Iran Nuclear Deal on: August 10, 2015, 10:58:45 AM
Not really. He was a useful tool to use while Obama was potus, to create the illusion that repubs cared about blacks, but with Obama out of the picture, his value has evaporated. I feel sad for how the cons used him and Cain and Steele for the past several years. It was disgustingly transparent what they were up to.

One of these days you will figure out that the true racists are those that attack people as tokens just because they disagree with them...
89  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 29 U.S. Scientists Praise Iran Nuclear Deal on: August 10, 2015, 10:56:48 AM
Schumer is a good guy but when it comes to Israel, his loyalty is to his religion, not his nationality.

So do you believe the OP that he is trying to wreck Obama?
90  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 29 U.S. Scientists Praise Iran Nuclear Deal on: August 10, 2015, 10:48:56 AM
Dr. Garwin and Dr. Holt were the main organizers behind the group that wrote and signed the letter, according to two of the letter’s signatories.

These are the people who've advised Congress and presidents over the years on this issue. Their contribution to this discussion, as I noted, is to speak mostly from the science view, not necessarily the political one:

The body of the letter praises the technical features of the Iran accord and offers tacit rebuttals to recent criticisms on such issues as verification and provisions for investigating what specialists see as evidence of Iran’s past research on nuclear arms.

It also focuses on whether Iran could use the accord as diplomatic cover to pursue nuclear weapons in secret.

The deal’s plan for resolving disputes, the letter says, greatly mitigates “concerns about clandestine activities.” It hails the 24-day cap on Iranian delays to site investigations as “unprecedented,” adding that the agreement “will allow effective challenge inspection for the suspected activities of greatest concern.”

If you've found that what they've written is not correct, post the link. If you want to wig off to why the agreement didn't include return of Americans in Iran or something to do with funding radical groups outside Iran, I'll only point out that is not what it's about.

Considering he is a top D what "groups" does he pander to? He is in line to be the top D in congress....

Twenty-nine of the nation’s top scientists — including Nobel laureates, veteran makers of nuclear arms and former White House science advisers — wrote to President Obama on Saturday to praise the Iran deal, calling it innovative and stringent.

The letter, from some of the world’s most knowledgeable experts in the fields of nuclear weapons and arms control, arrives as Mr. Obama is lobbying Congress, the American public and the nation’s allies to support the agreement.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/08/08/world/document-iranletteraug2015.html?_r=0

(well worth a quick read) neatly outlines the gist of the agreement and why it is good for us and the world. The signatories are not people unknown to the scientific community. On the contrary, they are mostly physicists with a list of credentials that won't quit, like ...

Quote
The first signature on the letter is from Richard L. Garwin, a physicist who helped design the world’s first hydrogen bomb and has long advised Washington on nuclear weapons and arms control. He is among the last living physicists who helped usher in the nuclear age.

We can listen to people who are well qualified to comment on the agreement, or a raving bunch of political hacks whose only interest is to wreck Obama's presidency, and damn the damage that may result. Seems like an easy choice.
Chuck Schumer is trying wreck Obama's presidency?
92  Other / Politics & Society / Re: McDonald's shoots down fears it is planning to replace cashiers with kiosks on: August 09, 2015, 06:28:46 PM
when did i say anything to the contrary ? i'm ok with these self service machines.
we have nobody to blame but ourselves. We were told that the regs by the EPA were for our own good and would not hurt the economy. We were told that illegal aliens help the economy and should look the other way rather than demand they be deported. The list goes on. For too long we've been "patting ourselves on the back" for being so progressive and "inclusive" that we did not see that the power brokers pulling the strings of Democrats were deliberately dismantling the working class by wrapping their policies in the cloak of "compassion and environment"

We all have one last bite at the apple in 2016. We can go against hollywood and the media and put a Republican into the WH. Then, we must demand that the GOP do something about turning around this ship. If full GOP control can't effect postive movement within 4 years, then we're doomed anyway.
93  Other / Politics & Society / Re: McDonald's shoots down fears it is planning to replace cashiers with kiosks on: August 09, 2015, 06:27:02 PM
Why not have both ? Get rid of jobs that the kiosks can handle, but pay the fry cooks and burger flippers a wage that keeps them just above the poverty line.

They will still need someone to empty trash, clean the trash in the parking lots etc. McD's and others have automated beverage fillers at the to go window.

Wally World has self-pay and many stores have increased the number of self-pay lines. They began with a couple but have increased the amount. They know that by reducing the live cashiers and creating lines that people will go to the self pay yet continue to patronize Walmart because of low prices. You'll have a choice, wait in line for service or do it yourself. 1 employee monitors 8 self-pay stations at many Wal marts. I'd call that a success.

If the minimum wage were increased to $15 an hour, prices at fast food restaurants would rise by an estimated 4.3 percent, according to a new study. That would mean a McDonald’s Big Mac, which currently goes for $3.99, would cost about 17 cents more, or $4.16.

The study from Purdue University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management also found that in order to compensate for the higher cost of employee compensation at limited-service restaurants, or those without table service or tipping, if they decided to change food sizes rather than prices, the Big Mac would shrink somewhere between 12 and 70 percent.

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2015/08/03/3687171/15-minimum-wage-big-mac/

Yepper - a whole bank account busting $.17 more for a Big Mac. Kinda sets your hair on fire, doesn't it?
why don't you price fast food within an airport or stadium? As costs go up, so must the prices. Airports are a great example of how high prices become when costs go through the roof.
95  Other / Politics & Society / Re: McDonald's shoots down fears it is planning to replace cashiers with kiosks on: August 09, 2015, 06:22:20 PM
Yup globalism sucks so does these machines that cut our jobs so the company can save a buck.
Tell that to the people who designed, sold, installed and maintained the machines.

Do you feel sympathy for those who own/operate cemetaries or funeral homes? The rate of burials by year end 2015 will be about 1/2 what it was in 2000

Revenue is down as cremations are much cheaper. Employment is down.

Should we mandate people to be buried because jobs have been eliminated?

If a fast food joint finds a way to pay employees what the govt mandates, and people still show up in droves, then good for them.

On the other hand, if we the people continue to support Democrats, and businesses must automate and cut staff to remain viable, then so be it. We knew what we were doing when we voted Democrat.
96  Other / Politics & Society / Re: McDonald's shoots down fears it is planning to replace cashiers with kiosks on: August 09, 2015, 06:15:14 PM
I think this was rolling out on a timeline independent of minimum wage increases, which are being phased in slowly.

Min wage increase just accelerates it. Look at a guy who owns 3 or 4 chain restaurants. He/she needs managers who tend to get a benefits package. The ACA has driven up those costs so the owner must look to cut costs elsewhere. His suppliers also are raising prices to him but the consumer, thanks to the Obama policies, has less cash and can't absorb price increases. It becomes an unconditional loop which won't stop until you pull back govt mandates, not impose more.
97  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Former DIA Chief Says Rise of Islamic State Was “A Willful Decision” on: August 09, 2015, 09:38:15 AM
Correct. It's the classic definition of insanity (Internet definition anyway) of continuing to do the same thing after every failure in the BELIEF that next time it . . . will . . . be . . . different. It's as if these highly educated experts use the lessons of history for their toilet paper.

They think in their words that they will 'be able to watch arms to prevent them from getting into the hands of 'extremists'", meanwhile the very moderates were those who were fighting against US armed forces to begin with. So what do you think will happen? Of course, they will be the new US enemy. Stupid is as stupid does, which seems to be the Pentagon these days.
98  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Former DIA Chief Says Rise of Islamic State Was “A Willful Decision” on: August 09, 2015, 09:33:25 AM
Earlier in our history such an assertion by such a highly placed intelligence official would result in congressional curiosity about additional details but not today. How in the hell can leftists declare that they and this particular administration have high standards of integrity and simultaneously keep a straight face?

Partisan politics, as we know so well. You and I also both know that Proxy States has been a gigantic failure for the US even as the US has continued using this strategy since Iran-Contra way back in Reagan. It's as if the Pentagon has fallen in love with failure.

It is laid out and admitted in the documents yet you guys arenin conplete denial. Maybe you're so dumb that you think that the press secretary's job is not to lie and actually beleive they are telling the truth. Theres a sucker born every minute.
