81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for Advice for a new farm on: September 14, 2018, 03:04:14 PM
You have to consider the advice of the members above. Indeed you have free electricity, but for now, it is not enough to solve ROI problems let alone you will have responsibility for investors if they decide to invest. The conclusion is that whatever GPU / ASIC is too complicated for now.

These links can use as additional information and simulations (calculating and predicting)
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which Algo will be hit next by ASICs ? on: September 14, 2018, 07:28:20 AM
Sorry, I don't believe it. I am from the stone age  Cheesy

There are still anti-ASIC developers and algorithm developers (coins) that can only be mined with the GPUs. As long as there are miners who hate ASICs, it is likely that GPUs developers still think about innovating
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which Algo will be hit next by ASICs ? on: September 14, 2018, 06:36:27 AM
yes, ASIC can kill GPU mining but ASIC can never survive (no longer profitable) for next year. ASIC producers can only monopolize prices and hashrate. Wait 2/4 months later ASICs (Producer) releases new products by sinking the previous products that have been sold. every old generation only becomes useless stuff.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more GPU or go in FPGA ? on: September 13, 2018, 02:56:01 PM
I seen that cle booster yesterday .. My question are if i buy adapter can i add 2-3 booster on 1 rig ?

It should be can, but I'm not sure since I haven't tried it directly.

And my goal was mine in btc value 0.1 btc a week .. Minus my elec cost. That why i want upgrade .. I have cheap elec .. Alot of place (i can host 400gpu easy) and i have the cooling system.

Oh ic, I understand your goal. You want to reach your weekly target, right? So you want to add more mining tools to achieve it.

You've experienced on this (in the short period):

But the thing are in 3 months my profit drop of 50% .. That pretty crazy.

How if it happens again when you add more mining tools? I still believe you can optimize what you have currently. Decision is yours

-snip-

Yeah, Acorn 215+ for 1070 and also CLE-101 for 580 was a great idea and some Nest X2G.

Is it really worked? Have you tried these GPU boosters? I just heard Acorn 215+ from my friend who's bought it, but it's doesn't arrive yet, so I've never see and tested it directly.

None have shipped yet, but that is supposed to change any day now. Maybe wait a few weeks and see what the real world effects of the Acrons are. Might be brilliant, might be 'meh' given the bear market.

Yeah, Bart.
My friend said, estimated arriving in the middle of this month. But the problem is, shipping cost to my place a bit expensive , $199 for shipping & handling, it means a half more from CLE 215's prices.

Adding a few Squirrel Acorn 215+'s for your ten GTX 1070's could be worthwhile.  You might want to upgrade the mainboards that host your 1070's as well.  The Acorn FPGA's are supposed to give a +30% hash rate boost for some algos.

Actually im mining MOAC coin .. on comining. i think this coin can get 200%-400% in couple months ...
If you have better suggestion let me know.

If you been doing proper research on the coin and believe that coin will grow as you expected, then why not? Even if it fails, you have experience in the future. Winners aren't people whose never fail, but people who never quit. (wise mode on)

So what now buy massic GPU ? and try stay in the game ?

I think you can stay, and focus on the mining tools that you have already. You just need to increase your mining skill and experience. Buying new stuff isn't a good idea.

And im in Canada, quebec ... paying like $0.05CAD kw/h

$0.05CAD equal to $0.038, right?
Oh man, with that electricity cost, I believe you can do more, you can get a better profit than another miner. My electricity cost even three times at yours.

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more GPU or go in FPGA ? on: September 13, 2018, 03:21:28 AM
Just remember one thing, you still have 50 GPU as your asset. Yes, the value of your GPUs will decrease time over time. What you need to do is optimizing what you have, if you want to stay. You can start with learning more about mining profitability such as algorithm choosing, coins choosing, calculate profitability yourself. Or, you can use auto-switch mining, let's say Awesomeminer or other similar things, to make it easy.

Buying some other stuff that you think more profitable than your current mining stuff isn't the solution, moreover in an uncertain situation like nowadays. Except you were able to sell all of the previous mining stuff.

For now, you just need to focus on what you have already rather than add more mining stuff.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum network Total has rate keeps dropping. on: September 12, 2018, 05:02:02 PM
I am just not sure if this is good for ETH or not. I was never into mining, calculating hash etc etc however what I heard is - dropping hash rate is good for miners (?)
Yes, that means many miners leave the network. I can't confirm if it's good/bad because it depends on the conditions. for example it can't be worth when the ETH price is sinking and can't cover the cost of electricity, but it can be said a good/worth when the hash rate dropped, and the ETH price is like 2017.

they can mine more blocks for less expense (?)
yes, for miners who have GPU / ASICs / FPGA farms and who have cheap electricity, let alone free electricity if the hashrate drops

I always had/have good expectation from ETH and I am sure the recent drop is just a part of the game.
I hope
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Current best powered risers available? on: September 12, 2018, 04:13:18 PM
Like I said. No there isn’t any problem with temp. There are 6 fans surrounding the cards that pull air across them.
I just saw it before I didn't realize it. Does it use VPM like delta and that frame like CPU in general? If true I will try to assemble it like that.

I usually assemble a rig from wood and aluminum.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Replacement Fan Issue - ASUS RX580 - T129215SM on: September 12, 2018, 12:21:17 PM
When I replaced the fan (I've tried replacing just one fan or both) the card was working at first but as soon as I start mining it crashes after a few seconds.
I don't understand why that happened. So far I have used VPM(Delta) and ordinary fans made by local brands in my country to replace one R9 and 1060 fans, already 9 months have never crashed as you have experienced.

Or:
- have you tried checking the cable power from/to the fan connector?
- make sure the fan socket on the GPU is in good condition (meaning there is "nothing strange")

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Calculators!!! on: September 12, 2018, 08:03:10 AM
Actually, mining calculators only predict based on data that has been inputted from various devices, various algorithms or electricity costs it means the calculator isn't dynamically changing according to the coin difficulty, the network difficulty, and the global hashrate - for example. so there is a pause first to adjust it to make it look more accurate. I often compare mining calculators like whattomine with my own calculations and the results are sometimes whattomine is accurate, same as my own calculations, even whattomine has been inaccurate.

so, in my opinion, the most accurate mining calculator is when you know the actual condition of the device.

your Mining Rig looks very neat dude, usually, a frame like that when placed on the floor using a carpet or your floor looks from wood. by the way, I see the distance between each card is too close together, is there a problem with the temperature on each card.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Current best powered risers available? on: September 11, 2018, 04:24:22 PM
Yes, I know.
Until now I use it because I like to use various types of USB Risers to find out every performance. I have enough SATA / Molex connectors from the PSU. I intentionally did it not only saw the rig run smoothly but tried to learn every component in the Rig even though it took extra time.

The most important are these points:
The best USB riser is that has (IMO):
  • Lots of capacitors
some types only have 1 or 2 of these components
  • Led indicator
  • IC component
because some types do not have this component
  • Voltage Regulator Protect
because some types do not have this component

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bitcoin exploitation with BOT TELEGAM a scam? on: September 11, 2018, 02:00:14 PM
- I added a telegram so people can contact me. Can you think negatively?
No.

You or anyone free to post contacts( e.x Telegram) here is there something wrong with my reply? Or are you offended I call it airdrop?

Come on dude, whatever the term (Bitcoin exploitation) mining using Bot Telegram makes no sense even if you don't explicitly mention that it is a mining activity. You have to remember when exploitation (Mining) Bitcoin can only use ASIC although as technically it can use a CPU or Mining Rig is still doesn't make sense if we think about taking blocks/reward/profits.
98  Other / Meta / Re: Forum chronicle - UP Rank List (statistics, trust, who is who) on: September 11, 2018, 01:20:03 PM
If you want to keep a complete list, you should automate this. There's no way you're going to keep 17 Reserved posts up to date if you do it by hand.

Also: jillscarbrough is in your list twice.
You're very thorough, and even I didn't realize that my name was on that list and I was lazy to use Ctrl + F. Btw, I appreciate the hard work of @OP to make this topic. I hope every member use Ctrl+F to search his name and use the scroll function  Grin
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bitcoin exploitation with BOT TELEGAM a scam? on: September 11, 2018, 12:45:22 PM
can I call it airdrop, it's like bounty campaign (social media) when they share/re-tweet/post and stay on telegram group also a minimal one comment every week until the ICO finishing then they get a stake.

actually, the main goal is he wants to promote his telegram contact.
You can contact me on Telegam @quangbinh9701.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the most profitable ASIC miner Now? on: September 11, 2018, 08:47:49 AM
So is it still worth to buy S9? what about a9 & z9 ?
whether it is feasible or not, I can't confirm it but this can be considered:
-try to compare (S9, A9, Z9) with price, hashrate, power consumption.
-try to predict how long they can survive in mining

it's basic when choosing any device but doesn't apply to every miner
