81  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Which is best place to sell bitcoin on: April 24, 2017, 12:24:45 PM
LocalBitcoins is a site I like pretty much, but I use it for PayPal transaction, so I do not know about your case. Still, if you want money to your bank account and that your country is not subject to capital control, I recommend you to use regular exchanges such as Kraken.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My road to a mining farm on: April 24, 2017, 12:18:55 PM
So I have been quite long in the mining game, and for me, hands down the best GPU is the RX 470. When I will go back to mining soon, by taking wking up my mine and expending it, I will go exclusively with RX 470. Or with RX 570, depending which one is cheaper. And as you may not think, i seems that RX 570 is cheaper, so I will maybe go with this one. But anyway, take one of those ones, which the least memory. A stock RX 470 with 4Gb of RAM is your best horse in the race. The RX 480 is too expensive to be a good plan. Even if it is more powerful, it is not enough to justify a that high price tag.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Coin on: April 24, 2017, 08:05:29 AM
And again another bad move to put on me : I sold all my WAVES at around 41000 satoshis... Hopefully this was to bet on something and I get the same amount that if would have sold just now, but still, I could have waited and bet with the increase...
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Dough wallet blocked on: April 23, 2017, 08:23:27 PM
Hello everyone. So here is my problem : I have my Dough wallet, and iOS wallet for Dogecoin, that got blocked because of three missed attempts to send money from it, but while it says that it will be back to the normal in 1 minute, after a few hours, it is still blocked. Please help me...
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: April 23, 2017, 05:21:45 PM

Anyway, does someone know how I should bill the deposit address of Bittrex ? Should I add 1W or not to it from Waves Lite ?

Hey. No need to add anything, just use waves address from the lite client without changes Wink

Okay, thank you ! I can now send my WAVES safely Smiley !

Zec will continue to do well

It has a small market cap. under 80 million

Nvidia clearly mines it better then AMD

So as an incentive to buy a 1080ti,1080,1070,1060

they can prop up Zec with ease

Nvidia has  53 billion dollar market cap.

If this is wrong  why did they just build  these two cards

https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1060-amp-edition-plus 9gb ram
https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-amp-extreme-plus 11gb ram

they will be zec killer-miners that is why

This is an argument I heard many times, including Intel instead of NVidia for ZCash too I think. But really, I doubt they would bother making graphic cards just for us miners, as they probably sell more GPUs in one week to the rest of the world than in one year to us.

I am not privy to their board room talks. But the Nvidia vs AMD  fight runs deep  been going on for a long time.

Zec came along and Nvidia crushes AMD at mining it.  I have to think that this pleases them.

And that market cap is tiny  under 80 million  every once in a while they can pump it.  They could also mine it  more cheaply then anyone in the world.

Remember  it is a way  to get btc   far more cheaply  then any other mining method.  I just can't see them not doing it.

what is it to them to have 10,000 1070's mining it at nicehash  directly converted  to  btc then every 30 days use that btc to pump zec.

that looped effect would turn a profit  costing  them no real money and it would keep the price of zec boosted.

lets Do the math   10,000 gpus  x 440h = 4,400,000h  that is  739 btc per month  and they simply  buy  339 btc of zec once a month  to pump the price.

the other 400 btc  pays off their capital costs.

So effectively they earn a profit running that farm  and use some of the profits not all just some  to prop up zec.

they can do this for as long as eth is pow and zec has a low market cap.

I can exactly understand your theory, and I were them I would be doing the same. But what I doubt is if they are even aware of Bitcoin (probably) and there is other crypto-currencies (less probably). And while Ethereum may have come to their ears, ZCash seems less likely.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves Coin on: April 23, 2017, 01:00:54 PM
Actually WAVES is pumped to a little over 40k satoshis. I think this is the proper time for me to sell my bag and buy back when it will have settle down again.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rebrand - RX570 / RX580 - Official Thread on: April 23, 2017, 12:33:34 PM
So from what I understand these cards are interesting in the mining purpose ? This is good, as I may be back to mining soon, and will probably go with these cards as they are barely priced the same as the RX 470/480. I remember that I saw somewhere on the Internet someone saying that this was a commercial rebrand without anything interesting in it. Hopefully it seems he was wrong.

Only buy RX 470, even though they are near 100$ more expensive that the price I have, you can still be profitable if your electricity rate is low.

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any point in holding any altcoin right now? on: February 08, 2017, 05:26:48 PM
Yes, some people are saying Litecoin is the sleeping giant, so I hold one LTC or two, just in case of. Anyway, even if it does not increase, I still like the coin for its Bitcoin-likeness. People mainly do hold altcoins for speculation, as I do. But a great part of them hold them because they believe in it (Monero) or it brings incentive to them (Diamond).
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Starting up a Cryptonote Coin for our micronation. on: February 08, 2017, 05:21:44 PM
Hello there, I'm making this thread in order to ask for some help in regards to a project I have in mind.

Me and a few people have started, about 2 years ago, a micronation and I personally dedicated some time to it even though it was just for fun. We wanted to create a community and we've gathered around 100 people but projects like this (a micronation) tend to fade if there's nothing to keep the people together such as real territories, real borders or anything palpable at all. That's why I came up with the idea of creating a coin for this. I've chosen the Cryptonote algorithm because this way any member of our community can mine with his/her own personal computer. Also, it will be PoW only. I will make a separate announcement page when things are getting closer to becoming reality.

The thing is, when I tried to make the coin happen I got stuck on compiling it and I ran into some problems, I also need some advice on how we should handle the nodes because we really lack the hardware and there aren't many willing to contribute with money. I don't need any changes to the basic algorithm just small details so there won't be much work for a professional dev. The way I will pay is by giving a part of the premine to the one that will help us. We're a small community and we would really appreciate the help.

The coin will be used probably for trading among our members or who knows maybe we'll expand. I hope this message will be received well, thank you in advance.

You must be rich as hell. Early bitcoin whale?

Anyway, I think what you should do is accept an already existing cryptocurrency, such as bitcoin. If you accept bitcoin in your micronation, you have already put yourself in the map and you will have a lot of support.

People starting altcoins are always seem as scammers that want to get other people's bitcoins, so good luck with your altcoin if you don't just accept btc.

Where do you saw him saying he is an early adopter ? You are bit right about how altcoins are seen, but what he want is to make people from his group to be able to mine it from their PC so a new altcoin, not very known nor valuated is the best idea for me.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP as currency on: January 28, 2017, 10:53:13 AM
Ripple is not a crypto-currency and never will ! This for me as much of a crypto-currency than Tether ! This is a bank's toy, and there is not much discussion about it. Definitely, I do not understand how the trading volume can be that high !
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who here has the most Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2017, 10:49:59 AM
Anyone sane and still active will never tell publicly how much bitcoin he has if he has a lot. This is a question of security. If you say you have 10 000BTC do not worry that bad willed people will see it and will not let you in peace ! You will then be the target of daily attacks.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New to BTC on: January 28, 2017, 10:46:55 AM
The best wallet to keep your bitcoins is Electrum for me. Its a great compromise of security, flexibility and a nice design. Your questions are already pro-Bitcoin, so I can not answer anything else that use nothing but Bitcoin in those cases !
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: January 28, 2017, 10:44:39 AM
For me this is gambling, but especially sport betting. This is the only option where you know all the variables, and this is near to zero based on luck. Moreover, this is for me the best option if you want to become rich overnight. But ! You need to have talent, as trading. This not magical.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the altcoin era over ? on: January 28, 2017, 10:40:22 AM
If not, what innovations do you think future alts will bring to crypto ?

Some Alts already have brought innovation to crypto,
but the majority of traders trade BTC like they are trained Pavlovian Dogs.

Comparison

BTC aka Bitcrap
PoW / Energy Waster
Centralized to China
Over 51% Controlled by China for over a year
SLOW Transactions speed of 10 minutes
Onchain Transaction Capacity overloaded , some times taking days
Transactions entered into Block because of the Fee you pay and not the order it was created.
Needs LN (offchain solution) because BTC is a technical failure
Full Nodes receive none of the transaction fees , (Only PoW miners receive transaction fees.) (Basically supporting the network for Free.)
_______________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________

Innovation ALT
PoS  / Energy Efficient
Decentralized
51% resistance build in by the chaos effect of Coin Age.
Fast Transactions Speed of 30 seconds
Onchain Transaction Capacity to spare ( 20X BTC Capacity)
Transactions entered into Block in the order they were created, no jumping in front of others by paying a higher fee
LN is unnecessary for such an altcoin
All Nodes can receive transaction fees , when they stake, while supporting the network.

(That Alt is ZEIT )  Wink

 Cool

PoW is not a thing of the past. This is at the inverse the only reasonable option for a crypto-currency ! With PoS price is only a speculative thing, as the coin has no intrasequal value. At the inverse, a well-established PoW coin can not go under its making price. You other points are good however.

To OP : no, the altcoin era is not over, it is for me the inverse, as many great projects are surging and we have passed the Scrypt shitcoins ICOs era !
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Opinion on using this 480 over a 390 for Eth on: January 28, 2017, 10:35:15 AM
All depends on the power price in your area. If it is something cheaper than 0,05$/KWh, the two options remain possibilities, but as this price increase, you can forget more and more about the 390. I would personally recommend you the 470, these are the ones I have, but this is up to you !
