Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress?

"Gambling Progress"? Is there a thing like that? Maybe I should replace that with the term "Gambling Improvement" where the simplest definition would be, the more I gamble, the more I think of better ways and strategies how to deal with the risks.

What kind of tracking are you referring to? The Win/Loss percentage on a given period? I don't know what's the benefit of tracking that especially on the part of how much money I lose in total daily, weekly, monthly, and so on.

I don't want my gambling experience too technical if, on my part, I know how to play with the risks.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: February 23, 2024, 02:01:11 AM
So the casino remains the biggest beneficiary, right?

Beneficiary might not be the right term but rather that's how business works.

These casinos were established as a business. As a business owner, isn't it just common that you will make it profitable? That's the reason you established a business in the first place. Since we are talking about casinos, where should they get their daily revenue? Of course, from their customers.

The more they attract some users, the bigger the expected money that will go to them since the house always wins.

And the cycle will just repeat and repeat and repeat.....
83  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 23, 2024, 01:44:49 AM
While playing online slots for quite a long time now, I have noticed that there's always a scenario where my final bet will lead to a big win reviving the chance of getting longer in that said game session. It makes me think that it's not coincidence or luck but rather there might be a certain condition to trigger the algorithm to execute that scenario.

But later on, I realized that it happened on almost every slot on different game providers which I believed don't have the same system on how they modified their respective algorithms. As for my conclusion, just go with the flow with what's happening in my slot game experience as after all, I rely on my luck to win here. Smiley
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 22, 2024, 01:49:25 PM
Since there are legal cases involved now, then I hope we can get an update on what will happen here.

I will put the situation in this way;

.. if they truly loved each other, money would not be split but rather shared.
.. if they did not love each other, then let the court or authorities do the solving depending on whatever agreement they can be settled with.

For me, it's a blessing in disguise that such a problem happened since at least their true colors are revealed before they can get married.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 22, 2024, 12:36:14 PM
but I wish to know if people really have to gamble without intentions of making money?

It's impossible that there are people who gamble without the intention of making money. They are crazy if there are people like that.

People gamble to have something good in return. Gambling for the reason of having only fun is crap.

Even rich gamblers have that intention to make money in return, what's more to average gamblers. Even some people claim they are just casual gamblers and just want to have fun so they gamble, deep inside they want to win. Don't believe in this gambling for fun reasons or whatever as the ONLY purpose why they gamble.
86  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 22, 2024, 12:01:25 PM
I had a friend who use to play the gambling only when he consumed drugs,Sometimes he use yo win the money. But most of the time he loss the funds, when we have a chat on the weekend we shared our experiences. The reason of the loss in the drug consumption is the gambler will play the game without any hesitation to take risk. The gambling is the risky game, the gamblers who take huge risk some times make the huge multiple of betting dollars. But the risk doesn’t make him win, because the meaning of the risk is the possibility of losing and winning.Every month we meet each other, the odds between us is gambling.

I was surprised Shocked Does it mean it's real? What I'm talking about is also my friend who uses illegal drugs but not on the level of being the worst man. It's just that taking illegal drugs was already his habit even before we started sharing a bottle of beer with other friends regularly. He's not a gambler but since he always shows me playing slots every time we have a drinking session, he started to play just out of curiosity. Since then, he always plays.

The same as the story you have shared, that person I'm talking about is also turning into a madman gambler once he's under the influence of drugs. He always likes to play slots as much as possible even lacking money once he's on his drug session. The good thing though is, he's not turning violent or irresponsible to his family even if he has a behavior like that.

Hopefully, he can maintain that behavior for a long. I think we as his friends contribute to why he's not turning into a shit one.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: February 22, 2024, 11:14:33 AM
As a member of a family and there is a gambling addict within, which method do you think it's the best to rip off the addict from your family member?

1. Talk to them and don't leave their side for too long, show them some love and make sure they don't have anything to do with gambling ever again, be soft and gentle with them.

2. Be harsh about it, force them to quit, let them know that gambling isn't this safe, bounce on them all the time because you love them, don't go any soft on them, because been soft won't make them see reasons why it's bad to be a gambling addict.

Which do you think it's best? Some people do think that been soft and gentle will be more effective and some people think that been harder on them is the real love here, they need to make them stop by force.

It depends on the level of addiction that a gambler is currently experiencing with.

If you think that a person's addiction is still on the level of being tolerable and manageable, you can consider being harsh as they will still understand and realize what's going on after being pounded with a harsh action towards their gambling addiction.

But if you think that a person is currently in a state that you can consider as critical level and needs immediate help, talk to them softly and nicely as much as you can. Putting harsh action on those people on that critical level state might trigger their eagerness to just continue gambling since they will feel they are left out.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 22, 2024, 10:51:19 AM
We have said it several times without number on this gambling board that gambling is not for making money. Gambling should only be for fun.

Or let me put it this way. If you want to gamble, either for fun or to make money, do not use more than 1% to 5% of your weekly income on gambling. The recommended percentage is 1% but I do not see 5% affecting me. So if you can not go more than 1% of your weekly income, do not go more than that.

Your latter statement makes more sense to advice to more gamblers than saying just a simple, gambling should only be for fun.

Treating gambling for fun is not for everyone. That fun might result into worst since losing is not fun. While these people saying they are gamble for fun, they don't realized that later on, they are already building up the idea of chasing all those losses. At first they are gambling for fun, but they are now slowly falling on the trap of gambling which later on they won't able to control anymore. Even rich gamblers are having such emotional stress when losing big, what's more for casual gamblers who treats gambling for fun.

As much as possible, even how people put up a percentage of their income on gambling, always try to be responsible at all times.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 22, 2024, 10:30:50 AM
Well, they are normal people after all regardless if they are rich or not that's why feeling regret is just usual. However, I can say that for those people on that level, especially a known influencer, it's just a normal day for them to lose such an amount, and sooner or later they will come back again on track.

Even with a rich guy gambling, still has this regret he just made, so how much more for an average guy to take the risk of spending his hard earned money just to gamble?

The difference is, these rich gamblers are capable of handling the effect of that loss as they have lots of ammo to triggered. They won't likely turn into a shit gambler after losing that amount. Unlike average gamblers on which if ever losing such huge amount, they will be left totally bankrupts and wrecked and the worst, will become a shit gambler looking for ways to chase that big loss.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: February 16, 2024, 11:48:09 PM
Self-discipline plays a key role in adhering to these principles. It requires people to exercise restraint, even in the face of temptation or emotional impulses, and to make decisions that align with their long-term goals and well-being. By practicing emotional control, knowing when to stop, and exercising self-discipline, people can engage in gambling responsibly and minimize the negative consequences associated with it.

For a gambler to fully practice that self-discipline sometimes they need to experience the worst they can get in gambling.

It's hard at first, but some gamblers become good gamblers after experiencing several mistakes in gambling.

Self-disciplined is hard to achieve and not all can practice that. But if learned, it's worth it.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between afford to lose and can't afford to lose. on: February 16, 2024, 11:45:04 PM
However, many people would say even if you have jobs but you are staking higher it also means you are gambling with what you can not afford to lose. Moreover it's true and I have to dauth but I have a feeling that ones someone that have a good paying job is staking more than what he can afford to lose, there is no different between addiction there.

There's no exact figure of what amount we afford to lose. Even if we set an amount, we will always try to breach it.

What we need to practice is, being responsible at all times regardless of the amount we are currently staking it.

In other words, learn how to take a break in gambling, or else, something worst will happened instead.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: February 16, 2024, 11:43:19 PM
How your emotions affects your games, let me know your past experience.

Being emotional is a human nature. We can't avoid being emotional in gambling.

To fully control it, there's no way. That was something you can't fully control. Even professionals can't control it.

What we need to do is, try to keep up with our emotions as much as we can. If we can't control it, then ride it properly.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What contributes to a casual gambler becoming an addicted gambler? on: February 16, 2024, 11:41:10 PM
The reason I ended up becoming a much more active gambler is because;

- I've experienced several big wins in my whole gambling career already and that experience is something I can't forget.

Because of that winning experience, I continue to gamble in hoping for another shot at that winning experience. For now, I can consider an addicted gambler but not to the point that I'm already at my worst. I'm still a good person when not doing gambling and my finance are always in shape.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: February 16, 2024, 11:38:15 PM
This something wrong with his promoter as he hasn't been rumored getting a fight this year. If he is on the right promoter, they should know that creating hype this early would help sell the fight, but unfortunately there's no rumors yet as to who he'll fight next.

Don't blame his promoter but the whole team. They created the mess in the first place on why they end up in their current status.

They also tried to settle fights with top-ranked boxers, like for example with Nery, but these boxers didn't want to fight Casimero.

They should go again inking an agreement with a non popular boxer just for sake of being an active boxer.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Escape Debt with Gambling: A Dangerous Cycle on: February 16, 2024, 11:26:50 PM
I haven't replied to him and I am not answering his call as I feel I would be doing injustice if I say yes. I am confused and do not know what to do, what do you guys suggest?

Try your best to shift his beliefs. Don't ever consider giving him money as that will fuel more his mind to believe that what he currently believes is right. It's up to you if you will ignore him but the worst might happen. Better give your best shot to just continue doing advice as much as you can.

If he now tries to ignore you because of your annoying advice, then that's the time you won't care about him.

At least, you tried your best and just hoped for the best for him.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: February 14, 2024, 12:59:19 PM
Anger management is critical especially if something triggers it. Our bodies react out of sudden frustration and sometimes the results are worse. The adrenalin is too much for the person while under that status that ended up in random reckless actions.

Anyway, what I'm surprised about is, putting decent bets on low odds. It's even more risky than putting decent bets on high odds. There's no such thing as safe odds and even for others that such odds exist, can someone have the guts to put decent value for example @1.00 to @1.2 odds? It's way better to just put the money in the bank lol (crypto fan here).

Well, at least he return from being normal and realized what kind of shit he had done.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the most underrated sport? on: February 14, 2024, 12:28:08 PM
1. This may be a sport that most bookies don't pay attention to, but which you think is very promising.
2. The second point is much more important. Perhaps you think that there is a sport in which it is easier for you to make money on sports betting and other players pay little attention to this sport. Everyone bets on football, basketball, hockey and tennis. But there is a sport in which it is easier to make money. What are the features of this sport?

1. I think you might be missing one fact where some sports don't have regular competitions or seasonal matches. Sports like billiards and chess are some of the examples where competition is likely in the form of short-term events, unlike other sports where it takes a whole year long to complete a season. That's one of the reasons why you don't see some sports always listed on bookies regularly but rather only during the time the event is opened of course.

2. There are no sports where it's easier to make money. Even how professional and knowledgeable a person is in that sport, to make money, will depend on chosen odds, yes being the best bettor as possible as it is. It might be easy to pick what team has more chances to win but what about the odds provided on it?
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: February 14, 2024, 11:44:24 AM
You already did what's the best thing to do. I admire your effort for continuous support of your friend.

What else you can do? Try to extend your patience since your friend is currently inside of the gambling hole where in that place, a desperation to gamble beyond limits and eagerness to win are the only things on the gambler's head.

It's also the best thing to reach your friend's closest relatives or other close friends.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a betting shop be so dubious like this on: February 14, 2024, 11:23:14 AM
Clear as the sky, the attendants committed an offense under Criminal Laws.

If such judgment had been made therefore the evidence was 100% legit. Better face the consequences.

I'm just curious though, why are people using a "betting agent" when it's easy to open an account online and start to gamble?

Bettors have different preferences. Just because we think that it's easy to open an account online, it's not the always case for the majority. For example, visitors from another place probably pass by a physical casino, and on their mind, they want to test the waters there.

To make it more simple, betting agents are acting like a brokers. They will show the possible best odds you can get.
