Merci Digimag. Transaction parfaite.

Merci !

Hello,
I am trying to sell 1 BTC for about 600 EUR but don't know how to do it simply.
- bitcoin.de refuses to validate my bank (it is an automatic process, and it says my bank is not accepted, even if it is one of the largest banks in France) - localbitcoins.com could be good for cash but there is only one person in my area and he's willing to only put 40 EUR - mtGOX and bitcoin-central.net are both validating my account since past week. On mtGOX they say withdrawals take up to 6 weeks, which is huge! bitcoin-central doesn't say anything…
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello, I am upset by how long it takes to start using Bitcoin from scratch. It is taking more than 30 hours now, and the last 7 days are especially long to download. I have a Macbook Air with SSD and a 10 Mbps up / 100 Mbps down of network bandwidth on optical fiber! And UPnP is working. I don't see how waiting more than 24 hours to start can be considered as "normal" for any software. And this is almost unusable for anyone who doesn't run his computer 24H/24! I understand the importance of having the entire blockchain, but can't we just start by downloading the most recent blocks, so we can start to use the software right away, and right after that download and process the rest in the background? What happened to developers? Isn't this obvious?

You seem very credible with your 1 post.
Sorry.

I am shocked by the number of scams, by the lack of professionalism, and by the general bad vibe associated to Bitcoin.
The worse part is that everyone seems to be powerless, unable to deal with fraud on an international scale. Maybe victims should create a non profit-making organization defending bitcoin users' rights, or something like that.
Or maybe people should just learn how to smell a scam, and stay well away. Due to the nature of the system, I think any organizations set up to protect "bitcoin user's rights" would be just as powerless as the rest of us to settle issues like this. What shocks me isn't the number of scams (scams are ubiquitous, and not isolated to bitcoin) but rather, the total lack of due diligence being done on these businesses or individuals before sending them money! People seem so bloody eager to give bitcoin, hand over fist, to complete idiots! And I, to my shame, am guilty of this myself. Look, yes people should be more careful, and shouldn't be blindly doing whatever an e-mail says them to do. But no one is immune to scams. Everybody can be trapped. It's not the victim's fault. We should rather blame scammers and take real measures against them. (well… probably victims should organize themselves and take those actions)

You provide a free service (supported by donations), it is not your fault (even if what you did is certainly perfectible), you're clearly not to blame here.
Users are responsible for keeping their passwords safe.
Thanks for your service and don't get upset because of this small incident.

fuck you mt gox
hallucinating to see people defending mt gox when the guy got all his account hacked because of their incompetence. guy is a customer, doesn't have to be a computer freak!

Pot calling the kettle black ?
What exactly are you classing as "computer science" ?
I see nothing that is true computer science. Information technology, yes, but not computer science.
You sir are right, it is not computer science, just information technology. I hope, sir, you've understood my message in spite of my inadequate vocabulary.

I don't even get a clue how much it will cost to get my money back:
EURO wire transfer: 12-22 EUR (!)
Not only it is an excessive amount, but giving only a range of price seems very odd to me.
I also dislike their incompetence in computer science (as if what happened to Mt Gox wasn't enough!).
Even if it's a major problem, their lack of expertise in computer science is not blamable. They can always hire a good IT team if they want to. But what I really hate here, is their way to communicate with people and to deal with different issues. An apparent lack of transparency and authenticity. Instead of recognizing their incompetence and get their shit together, they just pretend to be smarter than they actually are. I would never trust someone who behaves this way.

You can also trade at bitmarket.eu.
It's the website of my choice.

I'm afraid trading sites will just add several security layers, like those folks who use antiviruses bullshit and still get hacked.
Security must be simple, it's all about knowing what the fuck you are doing, not putting more security layers and persuading yourself that now that you use "salted multi-iterated sha-512" you have nothing to worry about.
What you have to worry about, is that dumb fuck who was running audits and opened a virus in his e-mail.

I'll try to rebuild the OS X package so it doesn't ask for a fee systematically like a beggar.
|
|
|
Since 0.3.23 fees are 0.0005
I just updated to the latest software. It still asks me for a fee. A small fee, 0.0005, sure, but it's still very fucking annoying. A few months ago we could send several bitcoins for free, what the fuck happened? How can a 1 BTC transaction be “over the size limit”? Please enlighten me.
