83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How you choose projects for investment on: October 26, 2021, 05:03:20 PM
These are all valid points you made. But however, having a project with its own Blockchain is not a deal-breaker for me. Why? Because you have some coins with their own blockchains like Vectorium, which is just plain shitcoin with no value while you have tokens like Uniswap on Ethereum blockchain, which has much more values placed on its token.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erc20 tokens send fee on: October 26, 2021, 05:02:48 PM
If you don't want to spend too much fee then you should lower the fee if it is possible in the wallet you use and patiently wait for your transaction to get confirmed rather than spending too much fee just to transfer your erc20 tokens to another wallet or to an exchange site. I also experience same thing but I prefer waiting longer than spending that much.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Elon musk launches his own coin? on: October 26, 2021, 05:02:16 PM
Why would they buy something created by Elon Musk? What would this coin provide that other coins no longer provide? It is impossible that it guarantees valuations without price fluctuations and at the same usefulness to people worldwide. The fact that he is a DOGE advocate against the BTC, would create an inappropriate atmosphere with the BTC community that is not small. It really wouldn't make sense for him to create his own coin and he probably already thought about it, how would he handle his deals in real life afterwards? If he guarantees that the coin could be used in his deals, there might be a buyer, but even so, it's very risky.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does matic (polygon) worth to invest? on: October 26, 2021, 05:01:44 PM
I think both doge and matic are the same because they are both coin pumps, and everything that is pumped excessively will not be good in the end.
but to buy only for short term profit it can be done because this is only for the billionaires and the fomo why do we not participate in taking advantage, but you must be careful when selling and buying do not let the loss you get
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is USDT a trustable? on: October 26, 2021, 05:00:53 PM
USDT is trusted though there are lots of existing negative news about it, its stability is still an advantage especially for traders. We always need a stable coin as a base currency so the existence of USDT is too important in the crypto world. If it's a scam, it wouldn't last for years.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Tron(TRX) worth to investing in ? on: May 08, 2018, 06:07:15 AM
Yes it is worth investing in Tron but there is always a risk involved, even if you are investing in bitcoin itself there is some level of risk..but talking of tron i will say it has a good potential in a long term basis, and you can go for it if are thinking for investing in Tron

90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase vs Dwolla on: January 02, 2013, 06:30:51 AM
I think it is a hundred bitcoin limit, not a hundred dollar limit. I just sold 10 bitcoin on coinbase and it worked great. Sent it in late Friday night. They said the money would be in my account by Thursday. The money arrived in my account today, which is Tuesday. Very easy to use and they don't need photo verification like Mt.Gox. If blockchain would go to this system I would use them because of the interface and site in general, but coinbase is where it's at. Very cheap. Cost me like a $1.15 to sell 10 BTC for a profit of $133.00
91  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Paper Wallets on: October 29, 2012, 11:35:10 AM
Okay, a few questions. First of all, are paper wallets still relevant? Secondly I have a question regarding their usage. Not too skilled in the technical lingo, but basically a paper wallet is a private key for an address that has coins in it? Basically, if I wanted to sell a paper wallet to someone, what is stopping me from giving them the slip of paper, and when they leave, I just hurry up and transfer the bitcoins to a different wallet before they do?

94  Economy / Economics / Re: Doubt about Bitcoin's growth potential on: September 15, 2012, 07:14:22 AM
My only concern so far with bitcoin is the lack of, or inability to, prosecute fraud and uphold contracts. That's what makes lending difficult in my opinion. Also, we could have institutions that practice fractional reserve banking, but it is not backed or guaranteed (FDIC). This means that customers (lenders) of the bank are at much more risk because of the high percentage of the reserves (customers money) being lent out. This makes their savings illiquid and risky. So in order to do this, the institutions would have to offer high interest rates and not be able to guarantee instant liquidation at moment's notice.

A contact in Bitcoins is no different than a contract for bandwidth or gold or manure.  Most "contracts" in Bitcoin land haven't been enforced because:
a) they aren't contracts.
b) they are unlawful (i.e. Pirate's savings plan was usurious in every state of the United States).
c) they involve thieves.

Put a,b,c in a "deal" involving dollars and you will be equally broke.

We need a real bank, but who certifies it? Do we need to certify it? Security is a huge issue as the hacked exchanges have shown. We can't have safe lending until there is liability.

I'll take that bet. Now prove it in 5 minutes or I win.

"I would" doesn't mean "I do", otherwise I would have been married three times more than I have been.

Excellent try, though.
So you admit defeat?

98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Letter to Matthew on: September 11, 2012, 04:47:52 AM
Jesus Christ...
The bitcoin community is gullible as fuck. Therefore, it attracts scammers.
That's how simple it is. No pathetic posts about feeling betrayed, no multiple threads about the same topic (being butthurt about getting scammed), no tears and drama is needed.

The only thing you all need, is to learn how to use your brains. Do not trust anyone, especially not just because you had sweet chit-chat over Skype and PM's. Your parents obviously failed to raise you, because even kindergarten kids know they're not supposed to trust strangers.

i dont know where you come from but i am proud to be raised in a way to first assume other people are honest.

i should not think this about random internet people though; lessen learned.
You're lucky no random person ever came up to you as a child and said your parents had been in a terrible accident and that you need to come with them.

And to think, I was gonna go look for the bitcoin magazine at Barnes and Noble tomorrow.
