81  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hero Member "MatTheCat" Scammer and He changed his password to say it's hacked on: September 25, 2016, 11:23:14 PM
(cuttage)

I think it's time to rename those ranks to something derogatory reflecting time wasted on this forum, because that's what it really is.

Creep
Shit stirrer
Attention whore

I'm sure the creative minds here could come up with something appropriate and totally non-trust-inspiring.
That's actually not a bad idea, and I'm sure many other names could be suggested.  Wasn't having ranks above legendary suggested?  I'm not sure if it was taken seriously or not, but there is definitely room for something kooky at the higher levels.  With sarcasm aplenty.  We all know bitcointalk has a great collective sense of humor.   Tongue
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: September 25, 2016, 11:18:21 PM
And here we are months later, and there has yet to be a collapse.  Predictions are like a-holes, everyone has them and they're usually poopy.

I'm not certain "high quality bonds" are a safe bet either.  My play is in precious metals and land, and bitcoin of course.  And firearms.  I do think a crash is coming, because one always does come eventually.  And the stock market is sailing pretty high and has been for years, ever since 2009.  To me that seems like forever.  But then again, bull markets can last for years and years.  During the bull markets you get a lot of Rasputin like people crying that the end of the world is coming...but it doesn't.  So who knows.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is earning bitcoin Boring? on: September 25, 2016, 11:14:38 PM
I never earned through tweets, and I didn't even know you could do such a thing.  The signature campaigning is an interesting concept to me, and that's why I do it.  Definitely not to get rich, but it helps.  Faucets were neat in the beginning, and they are still interesting but are a waste of time.  It'd be nice if you could earn through something like Youtube hits, but I think Google is in the stone ages as far as that goes.
84  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: need 5 usd btc for paypal on: September 25, 2016, 11:12:31 PM
Usually when people want BTC for paypal *quick*, it's a red flag.  Your trust isn't bad at all, but can you sign a message from a staked address?  There's been a lot of hacking going on around here, and you can't be too sure who's who nowadays.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For what was Bitcoin created? on: September 25, 2016, 11:05:54 PM
It's funny, because *everything* depends on people believing in bitcoin.  It's not backed by debt, governments, central banks, or gold or silver.  It doesn't physically exist.  Bitcoin is so strange to me, but the community is so hardcore.  But yeah, it was created to transcend governments and banks, and it's doing a damn good job, I'd say.  Not that bitcoin users are spending it like money, because I'd say most are not, but it's been adopted in the nerd community and the dark markets.  That's definitely something.
86  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many people here don't really care about BTC? on: September 25, 2016, 11:00:25 PM
I don't care about the drama, but I will admit some of it is entertaining.  And I don't think the drama we've seen so far has impacted the price significantly.  Hell, the halving didn't even impact it to the extent that a lot of people thought it would.  But having some money stashed away in bitcoin, I definitely care what happens.  I just think cryptocurrency is tough enough to withstand a lot of the shocks that happen.  Maybe not with the lousy altcoin scene, but with bitcoin most definitely.
87  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you like to receive your salary in BTC? on: September 25, 2016, 10:57:45 PM
Yeah I'm definitely a bitcoin lover, and I would probably take 10% or so in my paycheck, but not more than that.  And the reason why has been mentioned, which is mostly the instability in price.  Then there's also the fact that you can't buy a lot of things with it (yet).  But as sort of like a retirement fund thing, yes.  I'd be down with that.
88  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan Question on: September 25, 2016, 03:47:37 AM
That type of collateral is possible to use, but from what I've seen here it's not likely anyone would take it.  Domains and accounts tend to be overestimated in value and aren't liquid.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Paypal a scam? on: September 25, 2016, 02:46:43 AM
A scam?  No.  That's much different than having some shady business practices,  which they do.  They're regulated by the government,  so they're nowhere near as scammy as most bitcoin business 'opportunities'.  And I've found paypal to have its uses.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Earn Bitcoin FAST on: September 25, 2016, 01:42:51 AM
earn a living with 0.03 per day, you have to be kidding. What country do you live in? The only way to earn a living is to get a job and earn real money. And then you can buy Bitcoin as an investment if you want.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another way to invest Bitcoin without Mining on: September 25, 2016, 12:58:53 AM
I would say forget mining altogether. Mining itself is expensive time-consuming, and uses a lot of electricity. I would leave that for the pros. The best suggestion is to use your earnings that you get in real life and just buy bitcoin and hold it.
92  Economy / Reputation / Re: Douglus should remove cryptodevil from DT due to conflict of interest on: September 20, 2016, 02:25:47 PM
Xtraelv, you can't delete accounts here, but I can't imagine you're attached to yours yet.  Just create a new one and don't give support to scammy stuff like MLMs.  Which are scams, btw.  And if you've been reading anything on this forum you'd know this sort of thing is taken quite seriously.
93  Economy / Reputation / Re: Anyone else feel this is suspicious? Or is it just me? on: September 20, 2016, 05:45:07 AM
Uhm, people who do not use their accounts in a span of one year will have their accounts deleted? So one has to keep coming back to post or start all over again...
I think he means deleted from DT but I'm not sure.   In either case, this certainly does look suspicious and it wouldn't surprise me if the account was hacked.  There's way too much of this going on lately.
94  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Things All traders should Do on: September 20, 2016, 04:53:23 AM
"Always be logical" isn't the opposite of "Never be emotional".  Just Fyi.  I do agree with both of them.  Fear and greed drive traders to do some really stupid things.  Not sure what kind of logic exists with crypto.  There's not much to analyze.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: almost an hour into an attack on the ETH network? on: September 18, 2016, 07:30:59 PM
Death couldn't come too soon for this shitcoin, but I suspect it'll be up and running again soon.  It's hard to keep a good shitcoin down, even one as loathsome as eth.  Buy Dash.  Sell eth/etc.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: doge volume rising => price? on: September 18, 2016, 06:02:14 PM
1k is impossible, 2 years ago, all time high price was 250-300 sat. At that time, the coin supply was less than 40 billion. Now the supply is 106 billion.

overall supply is irrelevant. all that matters is the amount of coins for sale on an exchange at the time. i'll bet an awful lot of doge have been deleted or lost.
And demand is obviously key here too.  I think there is just way too much competition here in the zoo for doge to thrive.  But who knows, it's made it way farther than most people thought it would.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Running a exchange is a very active job on: September 18, 2016, 04:50:17 PM
i think that running a exchange is a very active job... i believe that the owner of Yobit , c cex , bitrex is spending the whole day on his exchange
Nope....scripts reign supreme.

Maybe upfront there was alot of work.

After that they just have their staff run PR and help tickets.

Full time job running their support.
Except places like Yobit don't answer any support tickets.  In fact I don't call them tickets,  I call them impotent, strangled little cries for help.  OP is either very naive or very young or has a very limited understanding of how stuff works.
98  Other / Off-topic / Re: how many people do you think knows about bitcoin in your community? on: September 18, 2016, 04:47:35 AM
In my community?   Not a lot that I know of.  Tried to get momz involved, but she's not real interested.  I mentioned it to several people I work with, and they find it mildly amusing but not something they'd want to try.  But mention deep frying a turkey, and everyone has a story.
99  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's the heck with YoBit signature campaign ?! on: September 18, 2016, 04:26:56 AM
So, after long months of loyal services, I got "removed from campaign by moderator". Why is that ? I was not inactive and always got on-topic constructive posts.

Lol, it appears a nice decision from the campaign manager, I just checked your last posts and at least 8 of them are just one liner who are not really helpful at all.  You can always come to secondstrade and as far as I know those type of posts as long as are on topic and just a bit longer are accepted.
I dont think this is true, at least not anymore.   Secondstrade doesn't take the worst of the worst like Yobit.  Maybe they tightened it up some.  I haven't been with them all that long.  One good thing about Yobit is the speed of their payments, and it sucks if you get booted nowadays since they're not taking in new people.  There's no other campaign that I know of where you get paid within hours.
100  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need paypal for my 0.98 bitcoins on: September 17, 2016, 03:07:24 PM
All the scam accusations and whatnot he's been doing lately would be a great lead up to a scam attempt.  Not saying that's what's happening here, but definitely get a signed message.  If he went first, he'd be bearing all the risk though.  Everyone here knows PayPal is reversible.
