I only wish you would stop eating.  Then maybe you would starve and smoothie would be our biggest problem.

Ok very helpful, used is ok too, so that might help me snag a higher end laptop I could not normally afford...

b!z: you must not be the sharpest tool in the shed or the shiniest apple in the crate.  Let me help tou out a bit: in the out of context, ironic text above I am pointing out (along with everyone else in that thread) that saying "hypothetically...." pretty much means you are talking about your own, real life.  It's the same as saying "I have a friend who has this problem... "

So, hoping to get a laptop for Christmas.  What do you guys recommend?  I had some excellent suggestions from you guys on a gaming desktop recommendation a little while ago, love to see what you think about this.

I'd like ability to install/use multiple hd for dual booting, ssd drives, and probably radeon graphics for some video games.  Durability is probably the main thing I am looking for--budget is maybe $500.  New/used isn't a problem, just want it to be fairly newish.

In many countries breaking the law is a matter of survival or has grown into the culture - by this I mean in varying amounts.

I find it very interesting to point out this type of thing, here is my (hypothetical) example:

In real life, I fly around in helicopters, drive mercedes, and wear rolex watches--but hypothetically speaking *if* I didn't have a whole lot of money and tended to drive older cars all the time that still needed to be smog tested and one of my cars failed the emissions tests, it occurred to me that it would actually be a very expensive thing to set "right" and still be 100% legal on.  I believe that you get three "tries" or tests before you are exempt, and if your tabs are expired, that is three tests (which cost money) plus various (also costing) attempts at repair PLUS trip permits you must buy each time you move the vehicle on the road--all assuming that *hypothetically* the vehicle had not been used for a couple years.  Its the government screwing with the small-timer.

What do you plan to do with it?  I need an excuse to buy one myself...

So at the risk of sounding silly, what could I put in here for proc?

Do you have a suggestion, what were you using?

Hey.

I have a recommendation for you, that is to set everything back up and unplug the 24 pin psu from motherboard.  Re-plug, then simultaneously hit the power button.  Not really sure what this does, but I have gotten  boards to boot this way in the past that would not do *anything* when you remove the battery, allow to drain, etc.

I also have a Dark Infinity board (socket 775) which may be what you are after, or still have about 8 matching (also 775) boards that will hold 3 cards.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=120718.0  (I also just bumped this as I was reminded of my listing.)

Good luck!

Not interested in paying over $200 for one 5970

I don't think it's too impossible a number, so still not willing to pay over what I said yesterday.

Always conspiracy talk about chemtrails.

I am not even convinced chemtrails, if they exist, have a nefarious purpose.  Anybody see tw Metallica video where it's implied the chemicals are sprayed to keep an alien zombie virus dormant?

Rofl!  I actually considered it, but decided against it since I've already trolled enough.

Still looking.  Not interested in paying over $200 for one 5970, I think, but may be interested in other cards like a pair of 5870 or...?

**edit** card name typo

I read in the paper that they recovered all but $30.  So... she could have stolen $45 from just about anyone's wallet and been ahead.

It was a debt-collecting helicopter.
100  Economy / Computer hardware / [Pretty well closed] WTB 5970 or 5870 or 6950 or 7970 on: December 07, 2012, 03:20:31 AM
Looking to buy a 5970 video card, other cards considered I guess-I am not too picky on anything except looking for air cooling and high mhs at a good price.  Thanks.

**edit**

No terribly exciting offers made so far, using my current total BTC to buy a laptop, but PayPal is still an option for a good deal, should one arise!
