81  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BTCJam - Peer to Peer Bitcoin Lending on: January 20, 2013, 06:30:00 PM
Hey BTCJam, I show that I have three investments that are fully funded, but not paid... they still show as "Funding in progress", but they are 100%.  One has been for a couple days now.

Why the delay?

Also, I uploaded a bill with my name and address four or five days ago.. it still says: "Being verified"

You guys need help?  Seems like things are running behind

When a listing reaches 100% is up to the borrower to activate it.
The listing will be automatically activated at the expiration date.

(about the bill , please check the dashboard, you mistyped some of the information)

Thanks, I didn't know the borrower had to approve, thanks for the update.

Oh, now it says:

"Invalid document    document is invalid or is not of the requested type"

It asks for: "scanned copy of a utility bill or a copy of another document that shows your address and has your name on it."

I uploaded a scanned copy of a bill that has both my name and address on it.... I don't have a 'utility' bill, since those are all paid by the landlord.

Pretty cool site... did my first two investments, and both were paid back with interest.  I guess as long as you consider only playing with money you intend to lose, it's all good.. in this case, it worked, just build up some slush incase I get scammed later down the road.
84  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WOW! BFL is refusing full bitcoin refunds! on: January 17, 2013, 02:36:55 PM
This is no different than any exchange... My company makes purchases from the USA all the time, so we pay in CAD, which is converted to USD.  If there is a return, we get USD back, which is then converted into CAD.. we almost always lose a little in the conversion as CC rates always include their cut.

As much as it sucks for the consumer, it's just how it is... I mean what if BTC had dropped... would there be any complaints about getting your USD refund?  No.
85  Economy / Goods / Re: Vinyl diecut stickers (Full colour) ... anything you want printed and cut on: January 17, 2013, 03:32:35 AM
I did take a look, but I think to post there I need an actual product, no?  Sort of like an eBay ad?

I guess since this is sort of a service, that creates a product at the end, but where the buyer has to supply the artwork, it's a little different than a straight sale (like if for example I printed off 1000 bitcoin stickers and tried to just sell them).

I'll check it out again, it might work, and I don't mind paying a fee to a marketplace.

Thanks!

I own a photolab here in Ottawa Ontario, and one of the things we do is print and cut vinyl stickers.  Since it's all done on a digital cutter, the shapes can be anything provided the sticker is not larger than 24" wide.

Anyone interested?  What we mainly produce is the white ovals that you see on the back of cars, with the black border and some lame text inside.  But we can print anything in full colour, use it for your car, laptop, whatever you want.  Min order is $5+shipping, as that is the single page price.

Prices are pretty simple, $5/page printed full colour and cut (for 12x18 vinyl).  So if you want 2" circles and you can fit 30 on a 12x18 sheet, then it's $5, you want 10 3" squares, it's $5.

Then there is just shipping, which can be super cheap, for small runs, everything ships from Canada, so if you are interested let me know.

Obviously, accepting BTC.

96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: January 03, 2013, 09:44:24 PM
Hey all, I'll introduce myself ... cosmicone is a handle I brought back from the nineties when I ran a BBS in Calgary, Alberta... these forums (which is my guilty reading pleasure), has so much drama, I thought I would go back and dig up a handle from what was for me the height of online drama... BBS chat rooms.

As a programmer, I am always interested in the backend sides of things, not the GUI, I've mined BC for awhile, and really just treat it like a hobby.

Yesterday I decided to open an account on the forums after months of lurking... main reason was so that I could get a Show unread posts since last visit link, since there are so many interesting threads on here, I don't want to miss any.

So... drama away... I might post from time to time, but I since I don't know anyone I can't really join in the fun.  I'll just lurk from the shadows.
