82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to share on: April 18, 2015, 03:28:26 AM
im curious what kind of cancer?

why not use the funds to do something amazing with what time you might have left and leave a mark in the world instead of giving it away. take out a full page ad in a newspaper with your life's story using those funds while helping the bitcoin community gain exposure.

my blessings go out to you with a miracle!
83  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good idea to use StartJoin.com or just stick with Kickstarter? on: April 18, 2015, 02:14:10 AM
i was thinking of crowdfunding a bitcoin starter kit where it includes an android phone and a paper wallet with instructions for newbies. not sure if someone has that already.

now the question is startjoin or kickstarter?
84  Economy / Service Discussion / Good idea to use StartJoin.com or just stick with Kickstarter? on: April 18, 2015, 01:50:36 AM
I'm looking to use one of the crowdfunding platforms and noticed that startjoin accepts Bitcoin, but they are lacking users as it seems. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

The other alternative was to use kickstarter or indiegogo as they have a much more established name and user base.

Just wanted to see if startjoin was reputable in the bitcoin community or not.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone have full details on the NXT messages prunable blockchain feature for 1.5 on: April 18, 2015, 12:21:30 AM
Was wondering does anyone have full details on how does the prunable blockchain messages work for NXT? i was thinking of using it for data storage of some sort.

so when does NXT cross the path where everyone can safely say it isn't a scam nor care about the premine situation?

its seriously quite shocking to see so much progress on this coin compared to others. i haven't checked up on ethereum yet, but i hear from other devs they have some nice progress aswell.  anyone know?
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Inside Man bitcoin episode review! Share your opinions! on: April 12, 2015, 12:21:57 AM
silly nxt trolls... i wonder if it even affected the price.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: April 09, 2015, 11:12:05 PM
i mean nxt can very well be an elaborate scam. i mean why can't the devs just work off of Bitcoin core and do what counterparty or coloredcoins is doing and just use the bitcoin blockchain's OP_RETURN instead of creating a whole entirely new system?

im sorry but i'm going to have to join the trolls on this:

... NXT IS A SCAM ...

-----------------------

what i've been noticing, the more trolling these threads get. the more publicity it gets and curious users will do their own homework.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Erik Voorhees favors NXT on: April 09, 2015, 11:01:40 PM
How is Nxt able to fit so much data in the blockchain?

Bitcoin struggles just to hold transactions, but messages and market listings is another story altogether.

There will be pruning at some point. That means that data will be removed from the blockchain after a certain period (i.e. one year). It's already being worked on - though I've read some disagreements between devs whether it will be possible on the NXT chain. Not an easy task, but necessary in the long run.

Another point is of course the fee - if the fee is high enough, it will prevent extensive file storage. The fee in the current test-version was probably too low.
Also: In future versions the fee will be dynamic - calculated by bytes added to the chain (for everything, also transactions and such).

Just an idea (no clue if that's the plan), but I can imagine that the fee could determine also the duration of storage. Since a webshop possibly could be happy to store an image just for a week, while some important documents (like a testament) might have to be stored for decades.

Seems like Captain Jean-Luc .. just implemented blockchain size pruning for upcoming 1.5.1e testnet:

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Altcoin Community Survey on: April 08, 2015, 11:36:00 PM
just launch your own coin with NXT monetary system ... and you can even mine it yourself just to get an idea of how it works. no need to fork bitcoin.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible) on: March 25, 2015, 10:41:19 PM
any chance of adding NXTcoin support?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitshares is DEAD on: March 25, 2015, 10:39:36 PM
can someone explain why this was an issue to bitshares? people were able to sell bitUSD for cheaper?
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt Technology Tree - Next release: v1.5 *Voting* AND *Multsig* on: March 25, 2015, 10:37:12 PM
2FA in Nxt will be realized with hashchains.

What if I have a smartphone app that has a secretphrase encrypted with the data in a qr code kept somewhere else, then I need to scan that qr code to decrypt the secretphrase, the app signs the transaction bytes with it and then discards the secretphrase and qr code data.

This isn't true 2FA. In 2FA the code is generated dynamically, so it changes every 30  second and can't be reused.

What you describe here is static password in the phone that you are scanning instead of typing.

That isn't 2FA

Nxt client never saves the password  anyway, so if you don't like typing that password, you can write an app that scans it instead. Same thing. This isn't 2FA

any link to how hashchains would work for 2fa?
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most undervalued coin? on: March 25, 2015, 08:41:44 PM
i'd have to say NXT as a platform. honestly nothing compares from what i've seen so far. every other coins is great and all but the amount of development on nxt is quite mind boggling. just install the wallet and see yourself. i know about the premine and all, but im betting on their platform than their coin.
95  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Evolution has run off with all user's funds on: March 18, 2015, 08:25:07 PM
seems like this decentralized marketplace is in live production since 2014-sept:

This meetup has a focus on Bitcoin, NXT, and other potential opportunities. The session is great for those new to these platforms or those looking to integrate their business into this space.

Since we cater to small groups of 15-25 people per session. Everyone is bound to leave knowing someone and something new as most questions get addressed in an open discussion manner.

Meetup sessions are streamed live via Google Hangouts. You can also join in to the hangouts, please post below if you would like join so we know how many will RSVP for contributing remotely. (Sorry, but its been tricky to get this up while also managing the meetup. Will try to figure out how to streamline this better.)

Anyone interested in coming just join the meetup.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Looking to get on Crowdfunding Platform with BTC. Opinions on CoinJoin? on: March 16, 2015, 03:49:12 PM
I'm looking to crowd fund a project and was wondering what is the communities take on CoinJoin.com platform? I like the fact that it takes BTC and its backed by someone reputable and has his own TV show (max kaizer). Are there other alternatives with similar functionality and backing?

your password is the formula. you never type the formula. you calculate it in your head and you just type it out. even if there was a key logger they wouldnt be able to steal the code since its always changing. no one will know ur formula.

i havent firgured out where its saved yet.. just an idea for now.

maybe make a 2fa thats somehow correlates to the block height since it changes. and with the block height u generate a 2fa code that only u remeber. say for example a math formula. ex. block height is 1000 . now u decide enter ur own 2fa formula which is: (blockheight * 2) + 5

2fa code is 2005

this is all derived from the block height and the formula u remember. this makes it a always changing pass without the need of another device.

does this make sense?
