Weak ass bears committing trading suicide.

Don't sell me your coins, because I won't be giving them back  Cool
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: What kind of money have people here made trading? on: March 13, 2015, 02:28:36 AM
The only reason I trade is to gain back everything I lost trading.  Cheesy

$300 tonight, let's hope we stay above this time

If we slay that bear whale

ruh roh ... did u hear that everybody ?? there is a bear whale. everyone stay calm... we will get billyjoe to get the 'four punch raiders' to take him out with a quick and powerful 'chinese panic' flash dumps and right when he thinks is great moment hit him with the short squeeze. got it everyone ?? ok break. on 10. go.

LOL

Realistically I think the situation is that longs are way over extended at a ridiculous interest rate and if the price doesn't start to move upwards soon enough we will come crashing down.  Just like how BJA spoke about a cascade of shorts going up, I think the tables have flipped.

Ever since BTC broke 300 I have had a bad feeling and it's getting worse and worse.  I am continuing to buy, but i'm out of leverage till we figure out which way the market is going to go.  Id rather jump in late than get burned.

The interst rates have jumped but only for the last 2 million or so that was borrowed. I'm still locked into my month long rate that is around .03 average. So there isn't enough longs with high rates that would close out and cause a cascading effect. If they decide to close out I'll be sure and scoop up some of their coins with my extra borrowed USD. And I know I'm not the only one willing to buy their coins.
84  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 11, 2015, 02:15:09 AM
People are opening longs at 0.75% a day FFS! The entire USD Long end has been wiped...

Last time this happened, the price dropped 30% the 30 days following the spike. Obviously, this isn't reason to believe it will happen again in that same way, but it is a possible warning sign.

If price doesn't start to go up soon then they will most likely close the positions.  The % is to high to justify the loan rate for a declining/sideways price.

I am glad I took extra USD loans a few days ago before the rates went crazy. I use the extra USD to buy a little on all the dips, a tip I learned from reading really old posts on this forum. And if the price goes down due to some crazy flash dumper, I have USD with low rates to buy big and lower my average buy in price.

I know many have said it before but I will repeat it for newer traders, if you are using leverage, make sure you have enough coins or fiat to back it even if the price goes way down. I am currently leveraged to the point where sub 100 won't clean me out. At that point I will be buying so many coins that I will just send them to finex to further my capital. (I wish I would have known this before I lost 100s of coins back in the day)

I'm sure the bank teller was fine with it being used for buying bitcoins, right?

I know, I know getting a loan under false pretenses or your credit rating doesn't matter in the new world of super duper hyper bitcoin randian enterprise utopia.

USD loans through finex not my bank. I would never borrow from a bank to buy coins.

I wouldn't consider it gambling if I am well funded. I'm willing to "gamble" 10% of my coins if I can make 3.3:1 earnings on them, any day and all day.

me muddy ? ... nahhhh ... couldn't be ... i'd be happy as shit if this thing went ballistic (again) ... lowest i've paid was 90 a pop after SR closed and i started mining back in 2013 too with positive roi ... highest i've sold at was 770 ... currently have over a blocks worth acquired in the low 200s and benefited for thousands of dollars of profit ... i'd love to have gotten in in the single digits but hey time travel isn't possible so ... anyway i'd probably be classed as a late-early or early-mid adopter ... and it would be fantastic for me if it'd just rock up and up from here ... and i'm well in the black ... but i know what the reality is and what the public perception is ... rational people don't touch this shit with a 10ft pole because well ... like i said ... people don't like the idea of being taken advantage of and paying 10000X the price something was produced at is hard to stomach for normal people used to working with normal investments and fiat currencies ... but hey ... there's lots of irrational people in the world to make more $$$ off of right ? ... Tongue

Why do people buy any investments knowing that someone bought it waaaaay cheaper than they did? Because they look at the future not the past. Thats what smart investors do. We still don't have all the smart investors on board yet due to various reasons... mainly the ability to acquire legally and large amounts. Once that wave is over, bitcoin will have grown and will be used for what it is, and people won't worry about it as an investment that someone bought waaaaay cheaper than they did a long time ago. They will think of it as an amazing technology. You got to remember bitcoin was not made to make you rich!

so basically ... what i gather from the talk of usd swaps and btc swaps and % used and % held and such ... is that there is more demand for btc than money being offered to lend to spend on btc ? right? ... so more or less people cannot buy enough of btc with their own money / are already all in with their non-leveraged fiat and doing everything they can to buy the hell out of it more ? ... meanwhile 3600 produced a day at 290 a pop comes out riiiiight about at 1M needing to be bought daily in fiat dollar terms ? ... honestly i don't know quite what to make of that ... but with 1 million estimated bitcoin users , we basically all need to drop $1 a day on average to consume the supply all other speculative buying/selling being equal ? ... doesn't sound bad ... hmmmm ... sounds like rabid demand vs minimal supply when averaged across all involved parties , just with limited/inadequate capital being provided by lenders ?

Parts not addressed so far, I have bolded above. As far as mined coins needed to be sold, there is speculation that miners are no longer dumping. Which makes sense because I have not seen the coins added to the ask side, and some dumped like they used to periodically, causing most of the downtrend. Either they are holding for a price increase to get more profits, since they may have been mining at a loss or not much profit, OR what I suspect, is that most of the mined coins are now being sold off exchange, which is likely, due to the rise on the exchanges as well. It seems that a lot of people are accumulating as many coins as they can, from miners, exchanges, and by borrowing USD to go long with. Bitstamp is the only major outlier to this speculation, as they have no volume but a nice bit of coins for sale in the immediate price range.

With this and the capitulation at $160, if this doesn't signal a reversal (either short or long term) I do not know what does.
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2015, 10:24:39 PM
Bitstamp has fallen to #10 in volume. Seems like bitstamp would buy that wall themselves and sell it later for profits and free up some volume to get some fees flowing in again.

They are about to be passed up by Kraken and local frickin bitcoins in volume lol.

What is a bit strange is that if you or I had bitcoins to sell on stamp we would move the wall higher to get a better price for our sale. That is move the wall up higher as the market lifted the other exchange prices. The persistent existence of lower prices on stamp suggests to me that there is no money on the exchange to arb the coins on sale there. There may be no genuine buyers or sellers left.

Agreed!

To be honest, I don't see a reason to use bitstamp anymore, unless you are in a country that doesn't work with Circle or Coinbase. Even Finex is a better exchange to deal with. Bitstamp needs to think of something fast, although they have already made crazy profits, and can still profit from future rallies once arbitrage is well worth it. I guess in the meantime they can just take a vacation since it is so slow over there.

Loaded is a multimillionaire. And so are his friends and investors. If you think he can't push up the price because he already has tons of bitcoins, and all of his and his friends money are already in bitcoin, then you are dumb.

We are moving up so fucking deal with it, and quit trying to make an excuse for every bit of good news just because you shorted or sold at the bottom.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2015, 03:12:17 PM
If everyone could just profit take now, then buy back later at a loss that'd be great!
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2015, 08:01:48 AM
Someone didn't realize its the calm before the storm and decided to short another 1K on finex... More fuel for the fire!
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2015, 03:29:44 AM
If only Finex was still linked to Stamp...
or
If only the seller on Stamp was smart enough to sell on Finex...
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2015, 11:08:30 PM
i suspect a 'fake' 5k wall on finex @280.
otoh the one @300 seems 'legit' since people here look quite in a hurry to nibble on it.

i'd offer a bet for you doubters of my great 8ball here as to which side we are heading first.
but im off to bed.

we shall see soon enough.

stop loss all nicely set up. have fun gents.

So far no walls have been fake, bid or ask, at least for the past 72 hours or so. (that I have seen or read about)
95  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2015, 11:05:42 PM

Thats bitstamp fool. Nobody uses that anymore.

 Roll Eyes

you mean p&d crew and clowns like fontas dont use it anymore? probably right.

but!

7 k to 300 on stamp

vs

5k to 300 on bitfinex

so better wire some real cash asap.

Bitstamp is now #8 in volume. Even LakeBTC has more volume lol. The only reason there is 7k to 300 on bitstamp is because nobody uses it anymore, just like I said. Even other exchanges that only use "real cash", not margin, are trading higher volume than bitstamp.

So if people could stop using that as the "oh no we are going down look at the bid/ask ratio on the #8 exchange that nobody uses anymore", that would be great.
96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2015, 10:47:56 PM
bids getting thinner and thinner.. longs prepare for the squeeze.

No, it's just those of us who have been ignoring your faulty predictions taking a little profit as a reward for not listening to you.

great for you Smiley

I dont know about a squeeze, but the bids are thinning. Probably a fake wall, but Bitstamp did get about 4k of asks on 300 at once, so they look very unhappy with the current price.

Downward detour likely..

just sayin Smiley

Thats bitstamp fool. Nobody uses that anymore.

So who is going to be foolish enough to provide liquidity on the ask side now? The ones selling on every rise over the weekend should have learned by now, right?
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchase and hold some alt coins with play money on: March 07, 2015, 08:32:38 PM
I'm surprised Namecoin has not been mentioned yet. It is the only alt coin with a purpose.
99  Other / Meta / Re: newbie jail on: March 07, 2015, 08:25:25 PM
I like the filter option, but I am sure that wouldn't be implemented until the new forum comes out. I doubt Theymos would open newbie jail again in the current forum either.

Bears are confident even though the price is rising. Perfect time to reck their shorts and move on without them.
