81  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked on: August 27, 2018, 08:55:28 AM
Do you own the private key of the bitcoin address used in this txid which is posted in this post of selavy59? If you have its private key then try signing a message using that bitcoin address. You can follow this guide in order to sign a message. After doing so, follow the instructions in this thread to recover your hacked account. It might take a while but I hope you can recover it.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Which form of investment has highest ROI? on: August 27, 2018, 04:43:27 AM
Russian central banks purchased 27 tonnes gold in July 2018. Why do Central banks buy Gold ??
They buy gold since many people treat it as a safe haven for wealth because of its long history. With its long history, gold has proven itself to be a good asset to use in storing wealth value because it is not volatile.
what you think which has highest ROI in short term other than crypto invesments.
Starting up your own business IMO will bring you the highest ROI if we are talking about short-term but you will need to exert an effort to make your business grow.
83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Good news for Bittrex users. Launching new trading exchange.... on: August 27, 2018, 03:24:38 AM
Though I'm really not sure why this site is focused on European customers.
Based on the information on invest.com's website, they are based in Europe and are licensed under 31 European countries, maybe that's why they are focused on European customers.
What is your opinion?
I am not thrilled with Bittrex's new partnership since invest.com is almost the same as any other exchange, the only difference is that they also offer derivative trading and portfolio management service. Either way, I hope that at the very least, the partnership between the two would help boost the adoption rate of crypto.
84  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I made a website that allows you to buy anything on Amazon.com for 10% off. on: August 26, 2018, 01:49:14 PM
I have looked upon your post history OP and it seems like you have already made a thread about your website here in project development section. I suggest you lock this topic and just bump the older one or vice versa. This is just my suggestion but I think your site would be better if you also try to add a feature wherein anyone with valid amazon gift cards can instantly sell their unwanted gift cards to you.
You can usually get 15% to 20% discount on Purse.io - I've seen a few friends getting 28% off discount on several items.
Here is OP's answer to a somewhat similar question on his another thread talking about his website:
Purse's default discount where they fulfill the order is 5%. Anything above 5% and you have to wait for an "earner" to fulfill. This can take weeks and can cause a lot of headaches. Our business model is a tad bit different. It's 10%, we handle the fulfilling of the order and there is no waiting.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH amount hacked by Clipboard attack! on: August 26, 2018, 11:22:26 AM
Thanks for the tips OP but I think that method is only effective at preventing yourself from being a victim of the clipboard attack. Also, that method will not make you 100% safe from that kind of attack because the hacker can try to just brute force the character you have edited since he got a clue on how your private key is structured(since you will only edit 1 character). Instead of editing only 1 character, I think editing 5 characters at least will make it harder for the hacker to access your wallet.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will ETFs help to contain Bitcoin price rises? on: August 26, 2018, 08:55:19 AM
This may be a naive question, but what price is going to be reported by sites like coinmarketcap and the like--the average price from crypto exchanges like binance or from ETFs?  What price is preev going to report?
Sites like coinmarketcap and preev will probably continue to report the average price from crypto exchanges unless the site owners decide to report average price of bitcoin from ETFs or from both of them.
Do we really need more of these BTC derivatives? In my opinion they just open up further possibilities for the manipulation of the BTC spot price.
I believe we need ETF in order to help make it easier for institutional investors to invest in bitcoin. We also need it so that bitcoin can be used more on payments for goods and services offline.
87  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does every bitcoin have a serial number? on: August 26, 2018, 07:44:59 AM
But those aren't exactly layman's terms are they?
I believe the end users who use Bitcoin are smart enough to understand how blockchain works without reading an explanation using layman's terms but for the sake of explaining it into layman's terms, I'll try explaining it. I guess one can say that blockchain works like multiple cabinets full of files(which contains transaction details) wherein each file are labelled uniquely. In each file, there are coins stored in the information which can be divided later on and some of those coins are yet to be stored in a file. Those multiple cabinets contain the same files and are verified by assessors called miners by calculation(and that's where hash power comes in). Those miners are also the ones responsible for collecting new coins from the supply box(which have limited coins). The newly found coins are then stored into their wallets and are sent to files for other miners to verify. In a nutshell, that's how blockchain works. For others who will comment after me, feel free to correct my explanation if I am wrong.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s getting hard to pump and dump Bitcoin on: August 25, 2018, 02:08:42 PM
but a direct "pump and dump" is difficult IMO without the top 10 or 20
or 100 bitcoin holders making an organised campaign to do so.
It would be a different thing to pumping and dumping shit coins.
I think saying that pumping and dumping are difficult to do without the top 10,20 or 100 bitcoin holders is an exaggeration. IMO, it is easy for anyone with access(who can easily pay) many news platforms like cointelegraph to control the market price through market sentiment. They can control market sentiment by spreading fake news but it is indeed a different thing when compared to pumping and dumping shit coins.
89  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CoinGecko Q2 2018 Market Report on: August 24, 2018, 11:18:31 AM
Check out all that has happen in Q2 of 2018
Coverage on market macro data, key event highlights, state of dapps, and sentiment analysis.

Full report for free can be obtained here https://assets.coingecko.com/reports/2018-Q2-Report/CoinGecko-2018-Q2-Report-EN-Large.pdf
I believe that this thread should be moved on altcoin discussion board or altcoins(speculation) section because the report can be discussed better there, after all, the report gives statistical data that can be really useful when speculating altcoin prices. Either way, I am surprised to see that only BCH has lost its value among the top 5 coins listed on the report. I guess that's the market's own way of saying that the other coins on the top 5(besides bitcoin) is better than it.
90  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheap and Expensive cryptocurrencies on: August 23, 2018, 10:34:37 PM
This is a good point that too many newbie investors don't understand.  Another thing to consider is total supply vs circulation supply.  I would argue that Market Cap should include all coins that will ever exist, and not just what currently exists.
Another thing to consider is its past price movements. You cannot say that a coin is cheap when it is sitting on a cheaper price yesterday than what it is priced today. Luckily, coinmarketcap also shows a chart to know just that.
Im not sure if market cap is related to coin issuance amount.
Market cap and coin issuance amount is closely related to each other since a coin's market cap is determined by multiplying current price to the current circulating supply a coin has got.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Something i found at GCOX facebook page! on: August 23, 2018, 08:09:10 AM
Are these celebrities really invest their money in GCOX?, or just invest time and energy like Bounty hunters?
According to GCOX website, those celebrities mentioned invested their money in the project since they are listed on the notable private investors part. In Michael Owen's case, I think he is also an influencer since he is also listed on the celebrities advisory board along with Danny Sulivan and Kim Seung Hyun but I think a celebrity advisory board itself is useless. After all, some of them cannot be considered an expert in business(which makes them a bad advisor since GCOX aims to bring business fundamentals to the blockchain world).
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Rejects 9 Bitcoin ETF Applications Whats Next Target of bitcoin? - 23 Aug18 on: August 23, 2018, 05:57:22 AM
as for SEC and ETF, i am wondering how many more times they have to reject ETFs before we stop even caring about them or talk about them. so far i think they have rejected ETFs at least 20 to 30 times starting from last year.
Don't think about it too much because I think in the next coming ETF which is CBOE's ETF, things might change(I hope).
this sounds really bad, the price of bitcoin has fallen like a rock. it looks like bitcoin prices will drop far enough this time.
It didn't since the fall it has shown for now is not that much since it only had a 3.83% decrease according to coinmarketcap. At least, I'd say the price of bitcoin has just corrected a little after being overbought because of the upcoming ETF that was rejected now.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australians can now to pay their every day Bills using Bitcoin and other Crypto on: August 22, 2018, 01:19:44 PM
But we need more such service provider to make the world of cryptos more accessible to the common mass.
We also need more services that assist in paying for everyday goods and services bought offline easier and instantaneous, not just for paying bills, the slow transaction speed of crypto is what discourages them to use it in offline transactions after all. If services such as these multiplies in many nations, Bitcoin and crypto adoption rate will increase exponentially because it will have more real-world use cases.
94  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: “Amazon for Blockchain” Project Releases Key Software on: August 22, 2018, 12:17:04 PM
I believe that this should also contain an Amazon-like product selling portal where people may be able to buy/sell products for crypto from the convenience and comfort of their home.
The project seems good but I really do hope they should have had made it an Amazon-like product selling portal instead of making it an exchange-like wallet(like EXODUS), after all, people can easily buy coins and tokens via major exchanges and other wallets like it. Nevertheless, I think it is a big step since their wallet is not a mere wallet where you can just store your crypto, it is trader friendly too with its news feed features.
95  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Danger: Short Squeeze Imminent on: August 22, 2018, 10:51:17 AM
Sure thing this ETF news will give a D*mn something
For now, I'd say expect the unexpected if ever the upcoming ETF has been approved. If not, then I suggest everyone do their usual and not get to worked up about what will happen in the next coming days. IMO, the price movements that we will see on Thursday or Friday is not that significant since it will recover anyway if we will see a mega short squeeze unless ETF has been approved.
96  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto currency may not disrupt the Trillion Dollar Global Market on: August 21, 2018, 07:20:36 AM
I also think that cryptocurrency will not be able to disrupt the Trillion Dollar Global Market at the moment because IMO, it is too early for it to do so but given that there are events in the future that will help in its improvements, crypto might be able to disrupt it at least a little. Nevertheless, I still believe that no matter what happens, crypto will have a huge impact on the global economy especially now that a country is attempting to use cryptocurrency as national currency(I am talking about Venezuela here with its crypto Petro).
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still see any reason for one to invest during ICO? on: August 21, 2018, 06:25:50 AM
The reason is one, I'm considering not the point of view of profit, but the technology and the product that they will create and will develop.
So, in short, you still prefer to invest during ICO. as for me, I do not like participating into ICO's anymore because most of them are a waste of money and time now. Good technology and product nowadays are not enough to make an ICO succeed in its project specially if the team has poor public relations after their ICOs end. IMO, it is better to buy coins after it got released on exchanges for a while because I will be able to discern more accurately if it is worth holding or not.
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Mining Beginners Advice on: August 21, 2018, 04:55:42 AM
Right now I'm currently researching what indicates a good altcoin to mine.
A good altcoin to mine is an altcoin with low difficulty(easier to mine), good current price and one with a potential to grow in the future(Note: consider the latter only when you are planning to hold some of what you are going to mine). To know which altcoins have low difficulty at the moment, I suggest you go look on mining calculators that can be found by searching on google.
99  Other / Meta / Re: I was blocked, tell me what to do to remove the lock? on: August 20, 2018, 02:04:37 PM
what should I do so that my second account is blocked.
I have looked into the post history of your account and it seems like you are banned for spamming repeated messages on the forum instead of burst posting. This is one example taken from the post history of the banned account in the appeal:
A post from CINDX | PRE-SALE announcement thread:
Of course, all investors want to get a good profit quickly. But I think that this ICO will be able to offer its investors the maximum profit
Another post from Bitminer Factory announcement thread:
Of course, all investors want to get a good profit quickly. But I think that this ICO will be able to offer its investors the maximum profit
There is nothing you can do to lift that ban even if you make an appeal.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin price increase has three factors. on: August 20, 2018, 07:50:16 AM
I like when the newbies pretend they know how the crypto market works and they try to explain it to the more experienced forum members. Grin
Let them be because at the very least we can know how they think the market works and if there is something wrong with their idea, experienced forum members can correct them.
Here is my two factors, HYPE and FUD.  Roll Eyes
You are right but I think both factors that you have mentioned belongs only into one category of the factors for bitcoin price movements, demand. The other factor is the limited supply bitcoin got.
