81  Other / Off-topic / Re: Up $175k on stake. Would like to spend/treat myself with BTC direct...any ideas? on: September 19, 2021, 10:20:21 AM

OK I think it is always good to treat yourself have you thought about a vacation instead of buying physical items? Because you are worried spending the money I would recommend putting it in a offline wallet which takes longer to take money out of. I would not recommend keep gambling when you are up 175k that is a huge amount of money. I have never come close to that amount in my life. I have never held onto that money in all the years I have worked. That is a life changing amount and I recommend trying to do everything possible to make sure you do not use it  for gambling. You have won at life winning that amount.

I've never had more than 20k usd in my bank account if it makes you feel any better lol. Surprisingly though it's not really "life changing" amount for me despite only having 20k usd. I have to worry about taxes if I cash it out. I could pay off my car but not my house, if I sell everything I still have to work....doesn't really change anything day to day for me which is why I mean it's not life changing. Now if my latest plinko ball on $2400 had dropped into the 1000x instead of the 26x we'd be talking another story for me 🤣🤣
That is crazy! I have never bet that much in my life you must have been sweating very hard putting that bet on. You could turn that not life changing amount into life changing if Bitcoin continues to go up in price which history has shown that it does since it has been created. If Bitcoin doubled you could be looking after paying off your house and car. I am not saying that it will do that but I think it is better odds than betting on Plinko though you are the professional winning 175k Cheesy
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: September 19, 2021, 09:57:44 AM
I'm not convinced by Brentford. I think they are over-performing this season, and the reason is momentum. You do see it sometimes with promoted teams. They spent all last season winning their matches, which breeds confidence and a winning mentality. They carry this belief over to the start of the new season, and for a while the good results may keep coming. But I think a couple of bad results in a row, or a couple of injuries to key players, will see Brentford slide back down the table. It is always nice to see a promoted side do well, but I don't think there's any chance they'll finish in the top half.
They are doing the right thing is they can over perform for one season by going full out against teams that are not expecting them to attack then they can surprise teams and get points. Then if they avoid regelation they can start to strengthen because of the money they will earn from the Premier League. Premier League money is more in the relegation spots then if you win the Championship. If they do get injuries I think they will be going back down to the championship but I hope they do not it is nice to see a team newly promoted going for the win every game. I do not like Burnley because of the way they play and it would be sad if Burnley survive and Brentford do not because Brentford try to play exciting football. They remind me of Leeds when they got promoted
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 19, 2021, 09:43:17 AM
Manchester United did not look good against Young boys in the champions league and I think West ham can put pressure on Manchester United today and make them collapse.
I think United are going to struggle today, not just cause they had a very hard game against Young Boys in the CL, but cause West Ham is a very decent team with players that can cause quite a lot of problems for opposition defense, I'd like to see how United's defense handles the threat Antonio will pose today, it's going to be a very interesting and free flowing game with quite some goals. My prediction for this game is a 3-2 win for Manchester United, I expect Cristiano Ronaldo to get on the score sheet for United today again, he'll be a very important player for them this season, but I doubt if his influence would be enough for United to win the league at the end of the season.
West ham have a terrible defensive record in the Premier League already this season I see both teams scoring because Manchester United are going to be tired from mid week game. I expect Antonio and Ronaldo to score. I think it is going to be a close game and that is why I have gone for a double bet of a draw or a West Ham win. Manchester United have a huge pressure on them today and we will see if they are title challengers if they can push that pressure to the side and win the game. I would be impressed if they did win today.

The result that Manchester City got against Southampton today was really surprising for most people. I never thought that this would end in a 0-0 draw. I expected at least three goals in this match. Manchester City could still have won this match but Sterling's goal was cancelled by VAR in the last minute. I guess that Guardiola is not happy with the result.

it seems to me that City this season will be very inconsistent:

1 - played against tottenham, won but scored only 1 goal

2 - after playing against tottenham, playing against norwich, won and scored 5 goals

3 - after playing against Norwich, he went to play against Arsenal, won and scored 5 goals

4 - after playing against arsenal, he went to play against leicester, won but scored only 1 goal

5 - after playing against leicester, he went to play against RB Leipzig, won and managed to score 6 goals

6 - now they play against southampton, draw and can't score at least 1 goal

Is a very strange inconsistency

Yeah and it is a really strange inconsistency for them also. Southampton were not a tough opponent for them actually. And they won their last game against Leipzig by scoring 6 goals in the end. I would expect a much better performance from Manchester City. I wonder what the reason behind the inconsistency is. Because their game plan is still working fine against nearly all the teams.
Southampton are a top half of the table team I do not know how you can say they are not a tough opponent. It is always harder for the top teams to play against teams that go defensive against them and that is what Southampton did.

I am worried I will keep gambling since I am up so much if I don't do anything with the gains to make it feel real. I am HODLING the 3.3 I purchased years ago.

Also I'm only talking about spending like 5-10k as a treat.
OK I think it is always good to treat yourself have you thought about a vacation instead of buying physical items? I would keep most of it in Bitcoin in hopes that Bitcoin continues to rise in a couple of years you could be holding on to more than 500k worth in usd. If you are not in a rush and you do not know what to spend it on I say taking the risk of holding it for better returns would be the responsible thing to do instead of wasting it on watches and luxury items. You are in a better position than 99% of people and I think it would be best to try and secure your wealth for your lifetime.

Manchester United did not look good against Young boys in the champions league and I think West ham can put pressure on Manchester United today and make them collapse. I have gone for a Chelsea win against Tottenham because Tottenham have many players out with injuries, Leicester to win against Brighton with Jamie Vardy scoring and West ham as a double chance for a draw or a victory. The payout for this is 800 dollars and I think it is very possible that this happens. I am most confident on Chelsea beating Tottenham because tottenham lost against crystal palace last time and Liverpool destroyed them yesterday 3-0.

Are you accepting people to come test the server? I would be interested in alpha testing it and offering better suggestions on the server. I see that you have miners up and running is this using one of the plugins that exist on spigot or have you custom coded them? They look similar to the ones that exist on spigot. If you are custom coding everything why do you not use the ones that exist already? It would speed development time up and you could launch the server quicker.
88  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My System for Security/Protection of Hardware Wallets and Valuables on: September 13, 2021, 01:24:04 PM
You are correct, putting a usb type storage device into a metal box wont protect it in the
event of fire but this storage chest is "insulated" the walls are very thick filled with fire
resistant material which keeps the inside of the chest cooler than the outside.
I do not think I can trust the claims of a company that is selling this as fire resistant. The metal on the outside will be fire resistant but I do not think the insulation unless it was a foot thick will protect from the heat. I guess this could be easy to test if you have a raspberry pi you can monitor the temperature through logs inside and you could use a blowtorch on the equipment and test if the temperature is a safe level for electronics or the plastic covering the hardware wallet.

Looks good. I have purchased cypher metal from Safepal and according to them it's normally fire resistance. I have written the seed of my hardware wallet there and have my hardware with me all the time as it's as same as a wallet, can be used with a mobile app.
Fire resistant does not mean the contents of the box are safe it means that the box they are selling is fire resistant. You could not be sure if it works for the contents unless you tried it.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Passphrase wallet on: September 13, 2021, 01:18:02 PM
What is the safest way of generating a 12 word seed then? Is there any safer options than allowing the wallet to generate it? My steps would be offline computer, generate 12 words through wallet software and then store that seed offline on some paper than is stored in a vault.
A pointless task. Your seed phrase with more words or a bigger wordlist might be harder for someone to brute force compared to a standard seed phrase, but no one can brute force a standard seed phrase anyway. The resulting wallet and private keys it generates will not be any more secure.
I understand this is correct I have made this mistake in the past with using very long passwords when they were not needed because past 15 characters is usually too hard to brute force for any one and it makes it more complex for me.

I am using a extreme example of if a seed was 12 of the same words in a row they will be attempted by amateur people trying to get into wallets.
Sure, but any seed phrase with the same word 12 times in a row will not have been generated randomly but rather chosen manually, and any seed phrase chosen manually will be highly insecure.
Yes I understand that it is probably the least odds to generate the same word 12 times in a row but it is possible. I do not know the math it prolly is below 0.000001% chance but for the sake of being accused to be wrong I included it is possible but IRL it is not likely.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 13, 2021, 01:07:54 PM
Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Manchester United I think are the clubs that will be competing for the title this year. Other clubs might be under them. Even though it was just the beginning they seemed to have shown their strength. Whoever is able to appear stable he will win the title. Moreover, this week's UCL group qualification has started, they will start a competition with a busy schedule.
Manchester City are being given more credit than I think is due because they lack a striker at least last season they had aguero. He did have injury problems but he still managed to win them games last season. I do not fear Manchester City as much as I feared them a couple of years ago. Torres and Gabriel Jesus slow play down for Manchester City and are not clinical finishes. I think Tottenham if they can get Harry Kane back to himself and get Son fit will be challenging for the top 4 against Manchester City. Liverpool will depend on their injuries because they have the least depth in the top 4. Manchester United and Chelsea will both finish in the 1/2 spot without any problems I think.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 13, 2021, 12:57:20 PM
Yes I think Ronaldo will be consistent in goal scoring for Man utd this season provided that he is not injured, two goals in one match is a good starting record, I hope he is hRomanus Lukaku will also be a highest goalscorer contender, I believe those two players are the two predictable contenders, Man City doesn't have a regular striker Gabriel Jesus and Torres are inconsistent in scoring goals while Harry Kane seems to be out of form after his failed transfer bid to Man City
Ronaldo is very injury resistant in his later years of his career and that is vital to Manchester Uniteds title hopes. If he stays fit then I have them as favorites over Chelsea but if they have any big injuries to key players I think Chelsea will be the champions. Chelsea can afford injuries because they already have very good players in depth. Manchester City have good depth but they lack a striker as you say. Gabriel jesus or Torres are not good enough for a team like Manchester City. Harry Kane I think will put it behind him and the management of Tottenham will prolly promise that he can leave next summer because they need him to perform now. I do not see Harry Kane in a Tottenham shirt next season someone will buy him if Manchester City do not.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson on: September 13, 2021, 12:49:20 PM
Even the points you mention cannot guarantee victory, in the ring anything can happen. so we certainly can not predict only with reference data alone. While out there this is considered ordinary manipulation. After all, this fight is not very well known, even when I search the site regarding their bet later in October I will miss it and only receive news from various media articles.
There is no guaranteed winner in professional boxing but there are clear advantages to some boxers over their opponents. If you put Joshua against Ruiz and he does not take the fight for granted he will win 90% of the time. If you have a boxer that goes in there complacent and overlooking their opponent then that chance reduces by a huge amount but if the world was perfect and you could guarantee which you cannot but if you could that the fighters were both taking it seriously then 9/10 times the better boxer will win. I think Shakur has a better chance here than people are giving him credit for he has never lost a fight and has never looked like he has ever been losing a fight. Every fight he has won almost every round that he has boxed which is not something that many boxers can do. I think he will win this by decision. Jamel might get a knockout if he can land but I think Shakurs ring movement will be to good.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] JOSHUA vs USYK on: September 13, 2021, 12:43:52 PM
Joshua is a better fighter than Usyk but I think he will be overlooking this fight and concentrating for Fury which I think the same that happened to him against Ruiz will happen again. He will prolly land a couple of big punches but Usyk has a great chin. Then I see Usyk catching him with one punch and rocking him badly and he cannot recover. Usyk to win by round 6. I am hoping that Joshua wins because I want to watch him against Fury but I think that Usyk will surprise people when fight night happens. Joshua does not have a good chin and he has shown that he looks past opponents in the past Usyk will be fighting like his life depends on it and if Joshua does not come in with the same mind set he will lose.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 13, 2021, 12:42:10 PM
Chelsea managed to beat Aston Villa 3-0 at home. Two of the goals came from Romelu Lukaku. Liverpool beat Leeds United with 3 goals away. Bruno Fernandesten scored 4 goals in the top scorer, Romelu Lukaku scored 3 goals. Cristiano Ronaldo, who played his first game this week, scored 2 goals. I guess we will watch races in all lanes this year.
It seems that Ronaldo will be the top scorer who is looking forward to being lined up with other players after scoring 2 goals, for sure this will be a continuous goal later in every match, and the execution of the tired will definitely be taken over again by Cristiano Ronaldo, who previously was Bruno Fernandes.
Lukaku will be that player after the 3 goals he has now scored.
Maybe there will be more top scorers in the future?
Maybe top goal scorer out of the Manchester United players but I  think there are better goal scorers in other teams like Lukaku and Salah. Ronaldo offers more than goals and I think he is better than both Lukaku and Salah but I still think he will score less. There is Harry Kane that we cannot forget about if he starts performing like he does usually because he was the golden boot winner last season. He has had a slow start this season atm.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 10:33:21 PM
I think Liverpool are out of the title race with their wonderkid Elliot breaking his ankle in the Leeds game. They looked very good in the game up until they lost him and only scored 1 goal against 10 Leeds players. They do not have many players in depth. Leeds looked awful today and I think if they are to stay up this season they need to buy some players in the January transfer window. I think Manchester United and Chelsea are the 2 teams with the best chance of winning the league this season they have the best players but Manchester City does have the best depth in the league which could be the reason they win another title.
Their chances at the title are limited they lack midfielders winjaldum departure was a terrible thing and now they need alcantara to get back to his previous form they lack some replacements too in case of injury especially in the defense and this is a big problem when playing for the premier league because its long and require a lot of efforts and injuries are inevitable so as you said the teams to fight for the title are man united ,city and chelsea.
I think in defense they are fine they bought a new player Konate? If they do have injuries they should have enough depth to not suffer much. The problem is the midfield and this is why they cannot compete for the title this season. They lacked depth before the Elliot injury. They sold Shaqiri and Gini W. Gini was a starting player and would play in most teams in the Premier League as a starter and they sold their backup shaqiri. Elliot is now injured for at least half the season but it will prolly be for the rest of the season they have lost 3 players in one position and do not have any one to replace them. How is my prediction of Liverpool not challenging for the title nuts when they have the weakest midfield in the top 6.
96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 12, 2021, 10:29:24 PM
Alts ate bitcoin's lunch for the the last 9 mo and now getting to eat our dinner.
That's the main lesson vis-à-vis bitcoin in 2021 (so far).

If you forfeited investment in good alts, you lost a big chunk of this bull appreciation.
I know a couple (of mid and large cap) which did 100X in 2021 alone.
That's life-changing numbers if you were aggressive enough and took profits about now or in May (for some).

Pantera's Capital D. Morehead was right about this-kudos to him.
Maybe I should invest some in his projects...perhaps, not now, but during the bear phase when prices would be lower.

However, if we will continue to meager at 46-50K until the end of September, I might consider buying Dec or March out of the money call options on btc or maybe even a bit of a leveraged bet instead (not 80X, of course).

How much are your beloved altcoins worth? How much is Bitcoin worth?

Actually, as I posted above, I am 50% overweight in bitcoin vs it's 40-41% dominance.
Bitcoin is worth 40.9% of cryptocurrency market, shitcoins+stablecoins are worth the MAJORITY (59.1%).
This is just a fact..and on Jan 2 2021, about 9 (not 2! months ago), bitcoin had 72% dominance, which means that bitcoin was very weak (relatively speaking) for 9 mo already. Not going to post anything about specific shitcoins-find it out for yourself, but some education regarding the issue is in order.
OK what education do I need. You are nitpicking a period of time and saying that altcoins are the better investment? What altcoins are you talking about I will take a look at them and I will provide charts that show from its creation it has performed worse than Bitcoin and only recently in your nitpicked period it has performed better. 9 months is a very short time to compare and I can bet that the altcoin you are talking about will be hitting resistance very soon like Bitcoin has in its lifetime while it climbs higher which then Bitcoin will 100% out perform it. If you compare BTC to ETH and times that it has hit resistance then you will see that during times of hitting resistance BTC out performs ETH when it hits resistance. Comparing a altcoin which is not hitting resistance to btc who is is not a good comparison. If you could give me the altcoin we can start looking at charts and breaking down the information. You might be right and I need more education but without knowing the altcoin you are talking about I cannot accurately argument my side. If you give me a shitcoin that is pumping because of hype but will shortly die I probably will not go into the effort of breaking down the chart because by the time I broke the chart down it would have already crashed.

The same Liverpool who couldn't beat a 10 man Chelsea few weeks ago? Running riot against a mid-table side a match they should win comfortably, well like you said it sti a long way to decide who wins the trophy, I'll give my predictions after 20 games
They only drew because of the red card that stopped the ball which I think was not a red card. The ball glanced off his foot and touched his arm but his arm was in a normal position any where else on the field and they would have not given it as a free kick. I think if Liverpool were given the penalty but there was no red card I still think Chelsea would have won with 11 on the field they were the better team and have a clinical finisher in Lukaku. Chelsea are favorites for the title this season I think with only Manchester United and Manchester City who can compete. I think Chelsea will win by a huge margin.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 10:08:36 PM
So only after 3 matches, and you are already writing of Liverpool just because of an injury to one player?
Have you also thought that the other time would also get some of their players injuries over the course of the competition?

By the way,  if things got too ugly for them, there's always the January transfer window. I am not a Liverpool fan, but your analysis is nuts.
They are already weaker before the injury than the other 3 teams that are favorites for the title. They have now lost a player which they do not have a direct replacement for. They have already had injuries to their striker and are looking thin. They have to play European games and their africian players are going to AFCON this season. They cannot compete unless they sign someone in the January. I do not think it is too nuts of a prediction. Mane and Salah will be both going to the AFCON. Elliot is probably out for the season and that is 3 midfield players that will be gone. They sold 2 midfield players in this transfer window. If they have any more injuries they will be playing players out of position. Why is this a nuts prediction when AFCON is going to impact teams hugely. Liverpool and Leicester being the teams with the most players going to AFCON. I am not a Liverpool fan and I am a rival supporter but I am trying to not be bias. I am not afraid of Liverpool this season.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 12, 2021, 09:51:14 PM
The match ended Real Madrid 5 - 2 Celta Vigo

Honestly, the number of times Real Madrid scored 5 goals last season was very countable. Looks like Ancelotti's approach will bring in so many goals, but the Defense will also be very leaky.

It was another great game for Vinicius Jr and Benzema.
Real Madrid have lost Varane who transferred to Manchester United in the Premier League I think they are weaker this season than they were last season. I know that there is big talk about Mbappe and Haaland coming to Real Madrid but I think the defense is a bigger priority to make a signing because they concede a huge amount of goals for a big team. If they could strengthen their defense I see them winning the league easier. I think a great manager like Ancelotti knows that the defense needs to be strengthened after losing Varane and I think there will be a new signing next season and I wonder if that will stop them from signing Haaland and instead sign Mbappe instead.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 12, 2021, 09:43:01 PM
Hat-trick from Benzema and a combat victory from Real Madrid, it's a pity that I didn't watch this match, apparently it was one of the most interesting in this round. By the way, I thought that even though Benzema does not score goals at such a pace as Ronaldo, if he plays for Real until the end of his career, he will be able to surpass Ronaldo's incredible record. This will be an incredible result considering that Ronaldo himself broke the record that had been held for decades. Smiley
I think benzema will eventually move on like Ronaldo did. Real Madrid have a huge budget every season and are always looking to strengthen. If they buy Haaland next year Benzema could be transfered out to fund that move or be benched by Haaland. Ronaldos record will be a hard one to break and I do not think Benzema will be the player to break it.

If Mbappe leaves PSG next season it will be a huge loss for PSG both in quality of the player and finacially. PSG bought for big money Mbappe and now they probobly will have to give him for free. But still there is 1 year left a lot of things can change honestly maybe Mbappe will extend his contract still a long way to go.
Mbappe will be leaving I think he has made it clear and is running his contract down on purpose. I guess the question is who he will go too. Real Madrid is the obvious choice but they are rumored to want Haaland too. I do not see them getting both players. I think Mbappe might be the preferred choice because he will leave on a free contract but Haaland I think has a brighter future ahead of him than Mbappe and could be the best investment for the long term.
