The problem with Zcash is not only the trusted setup, but also an undetected bug could lead to massinflation and printing of coins which could not be detected.
This problem occured with BTC on August 15 2010, where billions of BTC have been made, but it could be removed and repaired, in Zcash this would not be possible!
Also every new Zcash fork needs a new trusted setup.
Technically the XMR Ring CT, which will be activated in beginning of 2017 is delivering the same efficiency like we have on Zcash.
The Ring CT protocol allows hidden amounts, origins, and destinations for transactions which is similar to Zerocash. So basically XMR will offer the same efficiency but with no trust needed.
Zcash is dead in the water. Who wants to buy an ever depreciating asset with exponential supply  its gonna fall hard, its fair value is probably something like 0.005 BTC. But I think it takes months or years to get there. While it happens volumes will be lower and lower. which is really what kills it. No more confidence in the crypto. And thats not taking into account any potential flaw in the cryptographic protocol...(as it has been largely untested) Other competitors will fill the gap (XMR ?) and Zcash will soon be forgotten, ala STEEM... which also designed to enrich its creators fell from 600 M market cap to 25M.... ZEC is setting new records for a PnD scheme dropping from 3299 BTC to 0.8 BTC (as i write) and the road to 0.005 will be quite long The greediness of its creators is what killed ZCash |

As long there s no some serious flaw in the Factom software, these re just temporary hiccups real traders (and speculators) use to improve their positions. If you have no stomach for this, simply do not trade.
Wasting your time and energy on crying about price of this or that is pointless.
because if you panicked like we did when we started this conversation you would have sold the market more than 50% higher than where it is today...and you might be happily buying today... I do not hold that much Factom any more since I had issues about Factom team not being transparent about their development 6 months ago when you were not even here at this forum. So I do not care that much about short term price and I dont hold enough to justify my potentially lost time on following Factom market and the price 18x a day. In addition, I do not try to move price based on info from my posts. If the price is to go up at any point, it should be cause Factom has started delivering, there I agree with you. On the other hand, I really do not appreciate your trolling tactics with one sole purpose of crashing the price so you can buy more. Fine, you did it, now go BUY more. Just remember lots of people lost money so you can buy cheap cause that s how it works with trade, in order for side to make money, the other sides needs to lose money. Remember, karma is a big time bitch. Personally, I ll keep holding, will not increase my stash unless Brian comes here in front of us and says when the FUCK do they plan to release M2. I understand the exact date is an issue. However, if he cannot or will not share what quarter of even half year this will take place, well, then Factom s maybe not the best place for me invest. A lot of people where warned about this. But whenever anyone here provides a view that goes against the majority you're made out as a troll.
Bitcoin only went up around 10% and everything crashes with +30%? Then it's not just Bitcoin.
I doubt the price will recover for a long time as users will try to quickly scramble to get out of Factom with minimal loses when the price goes up again. Hope the loses where minimal for everyone though, sucks to lose money.
Price will not recover for a while indeed. The only cure to a bear market is lower prices. when the price is so stupidly low that new money comes in massively. But people already placed their bets on Factom. Now Factom has to deliver. I don't think people will increase their bets before, as I wrote before, we see at least one company XXX sign a contract to buy YYYYYY$ (6 figure) USD worth of factoids per year. M2 will not change anything to that. actually you could see that too many people were long and nervous, as apart from my "trolling", 90% of posts were guys incessantly asking "when is M2 released ?" so they could plan to sell their leveraged buy of FCT... Factom received their funding. I hope its not just in the pockets of Paul Snow, Brian Deery, and David Johnston, but that they are spending wisely to build their system. They'd better hurry before competition gets more serious. Now the market is 0.0025. Speculators prefer to buy at 0.003 or 0.004 with the momentum and clear signs clients are there, than muddling along with a position which could slip even further to 0.0015 and stay there for weeks or months. Anyway the market is so oversold here, we can have a bounce to 0.003 perhaps. |

not really, every time the price moves significantly up or down / or that i adjust my positions, really. TBH i was long and took my loss on the day @ 0.00337 taking into account BTC rise, its a bit less than 10%. not happy about it, because for days i was hesitating to sell i was still in profit fin fiat terms when it was 0.0037-0.0038 (despite buying at 0.00407) but at least i'm flat and done with it...and as mentioned, my longs were kept small compared to my earlier sizes that i dumped at 0.005. now doesn't look as a bad sale isn't it ? I'm not touching this stuff before it hits 0.0015. but at 0.0025 it should calm down a bit, thats an important chart point, a bounce maybe up to 0.003 is likely but i'm not in the mood to trade after taking in a loss usually. as for A-shares selling, its impossible technically to sell them so no regret. |

I did a 1000% (or a 10x for those who prefer) with Ethereum. That was kinda "the opportunity of my life", since now all the money I get descends from the one I got with Ethereum.
for those who invested in eth and monero when it was below $1 had a ten fold return , i wish i knew about crypto during that time,i feel that i am really late into this venture ,now the markets are saturated with enough coins and you never know which one to follow other than bitcoin maybe its time to sell everything. nobody is doing great if all coins do -90%, even if it was at some stage +1000% before |

holy sh*t 27 now... everyone laughed at my prediction at 25 here (when it was 47) but its really close now... if the weekly divergence (RSI+volume) wholly plays out 15 is still the final destination its a sea of red in all alts, but today, (so far) Factom is the champion. I just hope we will not hear of some REAL bad news about this company. (like its a really a scam), and thats its just the usual crypto roller coaster. In the meanwhile, waiting for M2 is a bit like waiting for Godot TLDR: don't listen to circle jerking, to people accusing others of being trolls. listen to all opinions, and more importantly listen to Mr Market. |

Factom received in the last few months 4+4 million Dollar including Tim Draper as a VC. Im sure that Factom will deliver  I agree. The main issue ATM is communication. Factom certainly isn't the only project with communication problems, but ... Tiana stating in a 10/14 interview that a new product would be released in the next week, and then no release, and no comment from Factom, really isn't how to run things. I'm still as bullish as ever—I believe they have the tech, the market, and the team. But, even more than missed deadlines, the failure to communicate adequately with the public is concerning, and has repercussions beyond temporary market instability. "Took longer than expected, we're now aiming for X ..." would do the trick. But silence breeds pestilence (aka trolls and FUD), which isn't helpful for anyone—investors, potential developers, clients, etc. Code is king, but it's not an island unto itself—it exists in a wider dynamic, and that dynamic is what ultimately determines success IMO. TL;DR: I would appreciate a comment from Factom on why the new product announced by Tiana on 10/14 for release "next week" was not released. perhaps you are slowly waking up to reality ? about Factom lies and misrepresentations ? look at what the market is telling you Grossbit aka troll.. go back to your hole. would be great if anyone from factom team could give us a rough ETA for m2/testnet. at least if it's likely to be launched within 2016 or not.
We tryed to get that answer many times but not working. but who cares just wait till Factoids are x100 and be happy  well tbh i don't think x100 is realistic. i'm aiming for 0.016 or 0.022. tho those targets depends on when M2 will be launched. if it's not going to be released till Q1 2017 or so, i think we might see a drop to 0.002. Actually it can go to 0.016 and still be x100 I can explain why i think it's possible, first of all the entry coin price is fixed at $0.001 so 1000 entry are 1$. The inflation of the coin is 73000 each month (little less) this is also the burn rate eventually. So now we know how the rates are we can only speculate on how much is it used, and base the price on that. I will calculate it per month. 100,000,000 entry's = $ 1.369 fct (100,000,000 /1000 = 100,000 dollar / 73000 = 1.369) 1,000,000,000 entry's = $ 13.69 fct 10,000,000,000 entry's = $ 136.9 fct 100,000,000,000 entry's = $ 1369 fct So my guess is that big company's like banks, insurance even IoT will eventually use fct simply cause its easy, already made, cheaper. So my guess is that 1bn entry's will be placed on daily base. 30,000,000,000 entry's = $ 410.7 each Factoid. I know call me crazy but ones it starting to take off, people will even hype it. There are many interviews with the team and i watch almost all of them, Tiana and David both said there are company's asking us can we store a bn entry's on factom a day. But if it was on those who can do something really well then I'm sure will get a 1000% profit or even larger than that. Because they can play with a very good and very neat in making a strategy. so if that's what you get then you are one of those very professional then you have to continue to fight in the great benefit, because the digital world is very profitable i think i was lucky and i don't expect to make this kind of money again in crypto, and if i continue to play with all those gains, surely i would end up losing it all... i'm still playing but in smaller amounts and ready to sell it all and move on if it doesn't go well |

That 'side of the area' is MI5's Palace Barracks. As a military barracks it will have residential housing, yes, but I am not aware of secure military bases having residential housing for members of the public or even retired veterans. They are normally for people who have a current reason to be there, inside the compound, a reason which is directly connected to the military section which it houses. The question of the 55 Clive Road, Holywood, Belfast address is not just about whether Jawad and/or Razormind have a connection to MI5, it is also about asking wtf a supposed global company with hundreds of staff and office locations all around the world (which we know is complete bollocks) is doing being incorporated with this registered-office address in the first place. There not being a connection to MI5 raises just as many questions as there being one. i think the choice of this address just shows the evil sense of humour of Jawad |

Let's not forget folks the endless annoucements of agreements and partnerships already this year. Many agreements haven't even been disclosed because of NDAs. I believe this will grow exponentially once M2 is released. The trolls (cough cough grossbit) will lead you to believe otherwise in a crappy attempt to buy lower. Just a trap. Don't fall for it.
not a troll. i provide balanced analysis i am long A-shares, and also FCT (in a modest size, less than 25% of what i used to have). doesn't mean I think the price HAS to go up 365 days a year, 24/24 in an exponential/vertical way. Actually if this stuff goes up to the moon, there must be quite a few -50% or more selloff on the way up. |

I m sure this is NOT the case with Factom and Tiana but I do expect Brian or somebody else to comment on her stating new product to be launched this week. Cause I m ready to raise this question EVERY SINGLE WEEK on this forum until hell freezes over. i gave up asking every week about excuses for misrepresenting the amount of bids for the A-share sales... |
