Hello again,
Is there any way to attach monero-wallet-cli to a different server rather than having to run monerod? I really like monero-wallet-cli but the amount of bandwidth requires by running monerod is HUGE. I'm sure theres a command of some kind?
Thanks

Hello,
Is there a command to set the miner to perform at 80% power rather than automatically 100%?

Thanks for all your help. I'm going to try and figure out a different retrieval method, 10XMR is extortionate!

Apologies Febo, its purely my own ignorance, I didn't understand how to do it.
I'm slowly getting a better understanding.. So once i've generated this new address and taken note of all the specific addresses and Mnemonic seed etc.. What piece of software do I use to attached the wallet and operate it on my offline PC? Is there any windows compatible? I would prefer Windows but can do linux if required.
Or do I send the coins to the address and then simply activate it on a web based system once I want to make use of it? I'm sure this is simpler, maybe this was the point I was missing..
Thanks for your help and patience!

Hello,
I wanted a method to store Monero offline, so I downloaded monero-wallet-cli and created myself a wallet.
I transferred 0.30 Monero to test yesterday, and it still hasn't arrived today. Any ideas why this didn't work and what could have gone wrong?

Thanks both. Couldn't I just download the client from https://getmonero.org/home - keep the coins here then disconnect the PC from the internet?
|

|
Thanks Febro. Been about a month, is this still considered the safest and simplest offline storage method for Monero?

Firstly its worth mentioning that i've trawled the Internet and tried over 15 different ways to fix this already, thought it was worth asking here because theres probably a lot of people with similar setups.
I have a rather unstable WIFI connection (which unfortunately I cannot change). I have a ubuntu 16.04 box, and I need to find a method which automatically reconnects it to the WIFI when it disconnects, and never stops trying to do so on disconnect. The problem at the moment is that it prompts for a password on reconnect, so I have to be there to click Connect. Are there any new scripts, programs or ideas in 2016 to do this?
Thanks

When I try and mine with both a GPU and CPU they badly interfere with each other and I get much slower hash rates ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks. Is a Sapphire "AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5 RAM PCI Expess 256 bit" a good choice?
|
|
|
Oh I see, I actually have 8 core CPU's... if I mined only with say 5 cores then also mine GPU, would that be safer?

Many thanks. Going to do some research on the best graphics cards available, to your knowledge whats the most cost effective with the strongest hash power?

Hello,
Is it possible to have a CPU miner and GPU miner active at the same time in the same computer without overloading? Or is this a risky method to use, prone to crashes etc?
Thanks

Awesome, thanks for info.

I've noticed a lot of people are putting a lot of power into mining Bytecoin. From my understanding, this has little to no use? Is Bytecoin coin accepted anywhere or does it have any use?
Just speculating, curious to see what everyone's opinion is as to why so much power is being put into it. Maybe they know something we don't?
Compared to the other untraceables (apart from XMR obviously) the hash rate is x 20 higher.

Thought as much, thanks for clarifying.
What are the most cost effective yet powerful graphics cards which would be best for zcash? Or is it too early to know?
|
|
|
Hello,
I have been reading about how Zcash's Equihash relies on RAM to mine.
Excuse my ignorance, does this mean its specifically graphics cards RAM that will be used to mine, or the actually RAM within a computer?
Thanks
