81  Local / India / Wipro Gets Bio Attack Threat Email, 500 Crores In Bitcoin Demanded on: May 07, 2017, 04:54:04 AM
This came on the front page of TOI

http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/wipro-gets-bio-attack-threat-email-500-crores-in-bitcoin-demanded-1690360

All these things are just making the regulation process harder.
82  Local / India / Re: Has ZebPay bank account just been frozen? on: April 26, 2017, 05:19:42 AM
I read this news here: http://punemirror.indiatimes.com/pune/cover-story/hackers-siphon-off-funds-from-bom-to-invest-in-bitcoin/articleshow/58350202.cms

It says: After analysing the transactions related to misappropriation, the investigation officer had put a debit freeze on the bank account of Zeb IT Services Pvt. Ltd.

So, after today, will ZebPay users be able to withdraw INR from their wallet?

Moreover, it says: The BoM has filed an application in the court, demanding strict action against the companies who are involved in Bitcoin business.

I am surprised to see that Bank of Maharashtra is blaming Bitcoin for their flaw in designing UPI app! Is not it just finding a scapegoat for own fault? I hope, Zeb IT Services Pvt. Ltd files a defamatory lawsuit against Bank of Maharashtra. I'd also like to know how many accounts of them have been frozen?

I second that.Without fixing their own app they started the blame game.Im looking forward to the govt. to bring up a solid regulation in place.
83  Local / India / Re: What are the main Blockchain media and forums in India? NEED HELP on: April 10, 2017, 10:05:53 AM
Although bitcointalk.org is a forum for bitcoin related discussion but is more focussed on bitcoin as a crypto rather than blockchain, whereas www.blockchainforum.info is a worldwide discussion board for blockchain technology and related projects. In there u can also find some hundred odd members from leading IT firms helping and getting helped on this new technology.U may also look into latest blockchain related dev jobs posted by various employers.Hope this info helps.
84  Local / India / Re: Member of Parliament has asked for suggestion from Indian Bitcoiners on: April 01, 2017, 05:17:23 AM
From the response itself it's pretty clear about his stand on bitcoin and its users.
This is the reason I never used centralized exchanges and stick to Localbitcoins and otc for all trade deals. The focus is always being anonymous.
Never used or asked for ID Pan etc.
85  Local / India / Re: What to do if BitCoin Exchanges are forced to close down on April 20 on: March 31, 2017, 09:36:15 AM
Can somebody list the names of the ministers who would be likely in the panel?
86  Local / India / Re: Sign the Petition: Announce Bitcoins and Cryptocurrencies as Legal on: March 31, 2017, 04:59:34 AM
It's India and very restricted about monetary regulation. India will never authorise Bitcoin doesn't matter if we will get 100 million supporter.

We all must be happy that India did not made Bitcoin illegal yet, that will be enough for all of us.

Signing reason like this will hurt this petition not help.

I truly agree with the above statement.
Two things:

•If community wants the regulation in an asset class then it's hard since we all are aware of the volatility of the bitcoin markets.

•If as a cryptocutrency then there's FEMA in place.

Proper regulation is tough considering US and Russia's current stand on bitcoin unless there exist high lobbying.
87  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2017-03-28] BS: Use of Bitcoin illegal, can attract anti-money laundering law on: March 29, 2017, 08:45:26 AM
The worst thing is that media is covering this news.
Lets recollect that bitcoin has also been termed illegal in the US but there's still some businesses like Coinbase,Gemini running in some states. In my opinion this was awaited as this country follows western approach towards every decision making process. My thought of what will happen is that in future there will be lobbying with the govt. by big exchanges and business may move to other states where laws are flexible.
88  Local / India / Re: Weird experience with cex.io on: February 07, 2017, 09:34:56 AM
So it's not only me.Nice to see other guys are also with me.
I also used debit card.
85k is substantial amount to raise an alarm bell for the company but as he mentioned there's no such notice from them yet.
89  Local / India / Re: Weird experience with cex.io on: February 06, 2017, 03:50:35 AM
Wait for the clarification mail what you hear from them.

Also now you have btc which you have purchased from them and also the money is credited to your account. So actually its a bonus for you  Wink

It won't be a problem unless the whole history of transaction have been reversed.
Just got another 12k.
I think a company's lossing $20k to a single person will be a huge loss.
90  Local / India / Weird experience with cex.io on: February 04, 2017, 04:36:04 AM
I created an account on cex.io parent company ghash.io,in order to buy some btc using debit card during the days when the difference between international price and Indian price was 18%.Yesterday to my surprise I found the debit card transactions have been reversed to a sum of $2000.

Now I'm wondering what went wrong between my bank and cex.io or it was a deliberate action from the company since they might have run into some regulatory problem.Im waiting for a response from them. One such reversed transaction is:

PS: The reversed amount is a very small part of many transactions I have done with them and if all the transactions are reversed it may add upto $20000.

93  Local / India / Re: How to buy paytm cash? on: December 16, 2016, 04:51:05 AM
I must say pls do your prior checking with the seller of paytm before accepting such deals.I sometimes happen to get offers of buying 1 Bitcoin with paytm.Who will load such an amount in paytm with upgraded account? Though most of the debit card transactions is safe but still I would insist to trade with reputed members.
Regards

Good to learn that our dear members are finding alternative currencies profitable as mining perspective.I would not be surprised if there are a few big mining operations coming up in the country or at least a pool operation.
95  Local / India / What would u expect from an Indian Bitcoin exchange? on: December 04, 2016, 09:48:14 AM
I believe there would be different views and opinions but I want to focus on the core features which u would want to see in an exchange.
Comments are welcome.
96  Local / India / Re: High difference in Coinsecure - Zebpay & preev's exchange rate. on: November 25, 2016, 04:29:01 PM
Its not in our control with Coinsecure.
Users can set and maintain any rate that they want to.
But by the way what is the exact reason for such a difference between the price of bitcoin in the international exchanges as compared to the indian ones?
The difference is getting large everyday. Does it have something to do with demonetisation?

I am sure that it is cos of demonetisation.
People are looking for better censor proof and ban proof solutions and Bitcoin leads the pack. - Mentioned this on CNBC yesterday.

If people from India are very much interested in buying bitcoins at less prices, they should create their accounts in international exchanges instead of going for Indian exchanges, as because of demonetization, I don't think the price will be back to normal unless this gets resolved.

Could you explain how does the process work say I want to create the account on international site. At this moment can you let us knwo how much will 1 btc cost including all the exchange and international fees?

Few things I learnt while opening an account for the sole purpose of buying bitcoins internationally
- Wire funds takes 3-5 days and sometimes a week to reach the recepient account. There is a risk of getting it lost.
- The best money transfer service in the country like Western Union or Moneygram is inward remittance service and not outward.
- The largest private bank in India let's u send up to $25000 dollar in a month only for the following purposes only:
Education abroad
Emigration fees
Employment abroad
Maintenance of close relative
Medical treatment
Police verification
Private visit abroad
Personal Gift
Donation
Remittance to own account abroad for placing of deposit

- PayPal doesn't allow transaction based on cryptocurrency. If u transact highly they might get your account limited.
- Other foreign exchanges does allow buying using debit card but often have lesser limits.

What I did find is that business entities can engage in cross border buying bitcoins from other business peers with a capacity of high volume transaction.Benson can guide u in a better way.
97  Local / India / Re: Please stop buying bitcoins from India on: November 25, 2016, 04:15:48 AM
Let me add something to the ongoing discussion:

Demand>>Supply

There is not a viable channel to buy bitcoins from existing international exchanges like bitstamp because wire transfer is cumbersome and a time taking process.
98  Local / India / Re: A new player is accepting cash on: November 17, 2016, 05:26:27 AM
What will you suggest to Bitcoin Joy if you are from India then you might be aware for black money 500 - 1000 notes are banned and if he is buying/selling in cash so what the result likely to be?

It is not necessary that Bitcoin Joy would be taking those banned notes from us, did they write it in their advert?
Second, bitcoins are already being sold for cash since years, so what has it to do specifically with this ad?

Going by the pace of awareness of Bitcoin in India; For instance, a random guy behind me in the queue of Stan C ATM enquiried about Bitcoin price while I was surfing localbitcoins and other instance where I got a call from a Surat guy asking for help regarding finding customers for his Bitcoin business dealing with old rather invalid currency notes made me realize that at a certain time if it highly likely that Bitcoin will come in the purview of the democrats as a safe haven for stashing black money. So there would exist three possibilities:
- RBI will start regulating Bitcoin
- Bitcoin may be banned in India
- Bitcoin community in India decides whether to deal with cash or not to keep a safer practice for trade.

Your views are welcome.
99  Local / India / A new player is accepting cash on: November 16, 2016, 03:55:05 AM

My question to the community is Is accepting cash good for a bitcoin business and the Bitcoin ecosystem in the country?
