83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][RES] RESPECTONOMY -A Decentralized Social Network on: December 29, 2016, 02:05:52 PM

WEBSITE      BLOG      TWITTER      SLACK      TELEGRAM      FACEBOOK

INTRODUCTION

Respectonomy is a decentralized, self-moderated social network system that gives the user the freedom to share their thoughts without the fear of censorship while rewarding them for it. Though modern social networks provide a platform for free information exchange, it is just an illusion of freedom as some sort of moderation or censorship is often used. This project aims to assign value to data, measuring the quality of inherent information, and to provide a mechanism for fairly compensating data bandwidth availability.

Respectonomy will be an open-source, browser based implementation, that utilizes the Bittorrent protocol for content sharing and a proof of work blockchain to determine the value of the RESPECT token that runs the system. Being an independent token, unlike colored coins, the PoW blockchain system that Respectonomy flows on, represents a closed network with dynamic membership of parties, and this determines its true value in a free-market.

Our system makes use of the RESPECT token that can be used by the users to vote for the content that they deem to be of a superior quality. This ensures that the content is reviewed algorithmically by the network and not determined by the reputation of any user. The value of the content is now based solely on the value of the token which is determined and fairly distributed by a proof of work blockchain. This prevents the branding of any user as a good content creator while at the same time discourages ads, spam and trolls.

  • Name: Respectonomy
  • Token: RESPECT
  • Symbol: RES
  • Algorithm: Proof of Work
To avoid an identity conflict, a Proof of Work (PoW) based algorithm is used. The miner solves a computationally hard problem which is decided by the difficulty level to mine a block. The solution to the problem shows proof of the miner's work in obtaining the block and hence there is no conflict in the identity.
  • Block Specification
The initial block reward is 16 RES per block. A block is generated every 2 minutes. This block reward reduces over time (see Halving Rewards) to give an incentive to early users of the platform. Eventually each block will have the same reward.
The block rewards are halved every 525600 blocks, which is approximately 2 years at an average time of 2 minutes per block. The block reward is halved till it is 1 RES and stays constant henceforth.
  • Difficulty Re-Target
The difficulty level of a block determines how hard it is for a miner to get the hash value of the block. Initially the difficulty will start at 1, which is the lowest possible value, and will increase with subsequent blocks. The difficulty level is calculated as a moving average of the past 2016 blocks. The difficulty may increase or decrease to ensure that the average block time is approximately 2 minutes.

Me and my team are working on a new altcoin. I need a little help regarding the announcement
I've checked quite a few altcoin announcements, some seem to have banners.
1. How do I make the banners? are they just normal images or something different?
2. Could you post some examples of good banners
3. How do I add them to my post

Fantastic, another scam coin creator but this shit head can't even create a banner for a thread. Head in my hands.

Dear Lituation, this project is not a scam coin. It is very closely related to what's written under your name - "Free speech is the most important thing". Maybe you shouldn't judge something before you know the details of it. Many thought bitcoin was a scam too, but look where it is today.

Yes, I don't know how to create a banner, that doesn't mean you have the right to berate me. You can sit there hiding behind your lame identity or you could do something useful and help

how do i get the image to be as wide as the post itself i.e. don't want any whitespaces on the left or right

How do I upload my own image here? is it necessary to host it on a site like imgur?

Yes it is mandatory.

Plus you can do some nice tricks like :

Code:
[url="your website link"][img]"Image link"[/img][/url]
This way people can just click on github logo or windows, linux, mac, android logo to download or go to these links.

For the other part, you can just pick some banners and change the content, this way you won't have too much work to do.

Thanks, that's pretty nifty

can someone post some examples of banners that are used in PRE ANNs and ANNs. Need to get a fair idea
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Extreme Flaws Of Bitcoin on: December 24, 2016, 11:17:39 AM

2) Bitcoin mining is not ASIC resistant

There is no such thing as ASIC resistant. Some algorithms try to do this by being memory intensive but that will fail because GPU farms can still provide sizeable hashing power.

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to Bitcoin. The reason it is successful is because it is not the old way on: December 24, 2016, 10:54:08 AM
I think it's safe to say that the world will eventually switch to a bitcoin based currency system.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should have one Bitcoin on: December 24, 2016, 10:46:47 AM
The whole thing is based on an assumption that everyone would give up everything they own or have and stand with whatever cash they get. For that to happen someone would have to have $241 trillion and be willing to buy everything everyone in the world owned. Also where would they keep it all? they'd require a whole island probably bigger than greenland to store it  Grin Cheesy

Hi,

bla bla bla bla bla.
bla  blalala bla bla.

digzy.

again!

Hi,

share it just now since there are no ICOs around here and we all are dying lacking any other idea left in the world to make an ICO out of it.

I think you guys really believed these ICOs around this forums actually raising the funds they claim to raised, you know the scam part of their projects but thought why not we make money as well instead of waiting for newbies entering crypto and taking money from them with profit promises?

Bad news I got for yall, you will not get a dime from anyone because people see everything and know everything and the ICO trick wont work no more.

are you saying people won't invest in an ICO even if everything is legit with proof and proper details? I'm asking because i was trying to release an altcoin with an ICO sometime next year
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using solar power to run a mining setup?? on: December 24, 2016, 07:14:13 AM
wouldn't the setup costs be high? depending on what you mine, time for ROI could range from long to very long
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: zcash solo mining on: December 24, 2016, 07:11:17 AM
so if i mine now with only my adress, with 400 SOL, i will NEVER get anything, thats what ur saying?

considering the number of people mining and their power, at 400 SOL you'll be lucky to get a block. It would be more profitable to join a pool. Anyone with higher hashrates have better chances at solo mining, but for lower hash rates it's better for pool mining
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Trading for Novices on: December 24, 2016, 05:39:43 AM
with bitcoin on the rise, is it wise to invest in altcoins now? or should i wait for sometime till bitcoin settles?
