81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: November 11, 2017, 09:58:14 PM
Can someone help me???  I'm trying to purchase ETC.  I have gone into Poloniex and tried to buy ETH it will not give me an address...It just shows Generating...I never get my address.  It's just stuck...I can click on others and they pop right up.  Please be kind..I'm an old lady...and have only been in this world for about 6 months! Thank you for any help!

Sometimes happens to me too, but when i resfresh the page with F5 it usually fixes it for me.

and you also just said that you tried to purchase etc and right after that you mention eth

Is it going to be a fork of eth soon?

Might be another "bailout" because of parity.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 11, 2017, 10:45:13 AM
pretty good roadmap?...lol, the ship already sunk

And that assertion is based on?

Maybe in the fact that the number of hosts in the network has increased a 30% in the last 2 months?

Perhaps in the fact that the number of active file contracts has increased 3x in the last 6 months?

Maybe in other figures like more than 13000 daily transactions on the network, more than 103TB of stored data, more than 3.3 Petabytes of available storage on the network? (https://www.siastats.info/index.html)

Or is based perhaps on the fact that later this month or on early December we will have a new version increasing dramatically the reliability and speed for renters? Or because of features on the roadmap like file sharing or media streaming? Or because of the new integrations with Duplicati and Minio? Or because of the arrangement with RNDR network to use Sia to save their data? Or because Core devs hired a new developer last month? Or because the development of Obelisk ASICs is advancing greatly (6x more speed than the original promise) ensuring the Sia network will be safe from GPU pool attacks next year?

Thank you for posting this, you saved me bunch of work here! Cheesy I just hate when people without any research just shove some random shit out of their mouth
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 10, 2017, 08:22:55 PM
Pro Tip: sell Siacoin now that it has pumped again or you'll regret it again when it's never going back to 70 sats.

As when you bought hoping in 800 sats, or 400, or 300 and then 200 and then 150, do yourself a favor and sell now.

selling at such a loss would be a mistake taking in consideration that siacoin has a pretty good roadmap, its just matter of time when it bounces back to at least 200 satoshi
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: November 09, 2017, 05:58:05 PM
this will never happen haha  Grin Grin Grin

I find it hard to believe too, but I can't say it's impossible, taking in consideration that etc is gaining a lot of good exposure recently, dev teams are very active, summits are being organised.
If ETC keeps doing what they are doing right now I think it could reach 50usd easily sometime in 2018.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: November 09, 2017, 05:48:34 PM
It's very difficult for ETC to stand on even just for $50. Probably i think, middle 2018 there will be a change. As yet few online services or gambling sites that use ETC. ETC enthusiasts are less crowded, still less competitive with newly emerging altcoins.
All this can change overnight, and fact that this is original not copy is something that we must present in every talk about ETC and ETH. This one should be 10x upper instead of ETH.
I think that some things will be changed in 2018, and one of the first will be returning to basic principles of crypto currencies- decentralization.

It has some potential, but it's not widely implemented.
If it will get implemented more, ETC's price will rise.
It is better and cheaper than ETH at least, and represent real decentralized solution and as such is perfect starting point.
At least not soon. We will see a lot changes in the market, before classic will rise till 100$. To be honest I don`t see much sense in the ETC.
Actually there is more sense in ETC than in ETH existence, anyway there are many people who will hold this for a long time including me.
I think this is something that is forgotten by some, ETC is the real Ethereum, and the reason those two were separated was the issue with the DAO, as a matter of principle I do not like the idea of backtracking transactions and that was what ETH did, so I have no doubts that even if ETH is trading at an higher price, at some point people are going to turn their backs on it and go for ETC, but that may take a while.

However, a certain amount of the ECT is controlled by a hacker. So if he sells, the price could be lower.

Yeah he holds a certain amount of etc, but he cant sell/trade them anywhere.
Each ether is traceable and if the hacker tries to sell one of those tokens they will get flagged

Whats with the ETC price, so bullish last 3 days. Is there anything new in the development or partnership? Could find info on their channels

Maybe because of upcoming ETCSummit? there is going to be bunch of influental speakers, hopefully some big announcements

Well let's hope 2018 is the year of golem, it's kinda sad to see the slow progress, but maybe its for the best. Rather have a product thats working well and tested dozens of times, before it being launched for people

Well I mean your wallet doesn't really stand out from any already widely adopted wallets like jaxx, electrum, bread, mycelium, exodus, copay and many more.

EXTREMELY SECURE
In case of device loss or any other circumstances your wallet can be recovered using a 12 word mnemonic phrase.

You make it seem like its something revolutionary..

You are right, we follow the same technology as Jaxx, Exodus etc. But we find that no wallet seems to be high-end in both functionality and design at the same time. Also we want to remind that it is our first release and later we will do more and better! Wink We plan to add multiple currencies, that can be exchanged inside the wallet but keep UI very user-friendly.

We are always happy to get your feedback! Thank you!

Let's say im a potentional customer, but i have couple of questions

1. you mentioned "high-end in both functionality and"  could you please explain what do you mean by that, what does "high-end in functionality" mean to you.
2. Website probably needs a little rework, including more information, maybe even a re-design, i mean the "header" part looks nice, but rest of the page kinda lacks, but as you said its just your first release so we will probably see a lot of reworks , hopefully Smiley
3. Maybe I didn't notice it, but how does lumi wallet sustain itself? what are the fees?

Again dont get me wrong im not here to bash your project, im just trying to extract some information

While saying high-end we mean that we try to implement the best existing solutions for wallets. We care about users that is why try to do reliable and strong product.

That is why we are here, it would be very helpful to read your suggestions even about website design! Smiley

Our wallet is absolutely free for users, hope you will enjoy it!

Everyday we fix all arising bugs and crashes and your feedback is essential, new improved version will be on the AppStore in a few days.

About the website it just needs a lot more information, at this moment it just have 4 small blocks of information which is probably not enough to convince users to use your wallet when there's tons of great wallets out there, I'm not saying your wallet is not great, but it just needs something to stand out from all the big sharks.

As you know a lot of crypto users are very skeptical when it comes down to wallets, they will try to gather as much information as possible, look for feedbacks and so on, right now lumi lacks information.
for example maybe implementing a roadmap would be a useful thing.

I understand that wallet is free for users ,but you have to sustain your service somehow otherwise whats the point of running the service? so thats why i was wondering whats your model to sustain the wallet.
One thing that came to my head was - lumi makes money on shapeshift transactions, but i dont see shapeshift implemented.

So there is probably some fees which you take extra

94  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTB] Bitcoin Gambling Site on: November 08, 2017, 02:59:40 PM
Let me give you some downside on pvp based games..

I am a programmer myself and tried to build a pvp game, building the game is not the hard part, the hard part is building a provably fair system for a pvp based game.

If the pvp game is fast, lets say the round length is about 10-30seconds its almost unreal to provide users with 100% provably fair system. Maybe there is a way to do it with smart contracts, but that would limit the game to using only 1 crypto currency - ETH. Smart contracts are open source and they are easily abusable.

The only way I could see a pvp provably fair game is by using a "stretching function" which would probably take at least 5-10min to display the winner, which is too slow for a pvp game.

So if anyone comes up to you please ask them how they are going to make your pvp game 100% provably fair, if they say something like

Server hash - client seed - server seed  you know they are full of shit, because one of those players can still be a "house" in disguise

administrators of https://www.myetherwallet.com do not have access to client money, wallet inside the browser works, why do we need another wallet?

you can download and file version https://github.com/kvhnuke/etherwallet/releases/tag/v3.10.4.3

Agreed. I don't see the reason why some people around the wallet that badly. Roll Eyes

MyEtherWallet is the best in all, I keep my ETC there, in paper wallets, etc.

Same, not buying etc because it doesn't have its own wallet sounds just stupid, there is plenty of good wallets that allow you to store etc

lol there is dude, its in beta and you cant use it , its not secure lol ...

So why not use any other wallets? there's plenty of wallets, its not obligatory to use etc official wallet when there is so much more great wallets.

Id rather have them work on more serious things than official etc wallet.

because not having a working wallet mean no project, no ICO, no development , no one will trust a coins that dont have at least a wallet ... every shitcoin have its own wallet

at the moment, do you know any ICO using ETC ? No , why ? because no wallet, its more simple and more easy to begin an ICO using ETH , thats all

Im starting to think that youre just a troll, there are icos on etc. https://www.corion.io/  http://postalgia.co/splash.php https://stampery.com/
https://etcbets.com/
https://soundchain.org/ https://ico.easymine.io/ https://dexaran.github.io/ICO/ https://chronobank.io/
and there is plenty more.
Dude just learn to use google and don't pull random stuff out of your ass.
