81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - URGENT UPDATE on: December 10, 2013, 10:42:41 PM
Artos, quick question about an idea I had.

I notice a problem with Bitcoin right now is that there are now so many transactions and so much mining, that the only way to get your transaction to go through is to pay a small fee, which seems likely to increase over time.

Do you think it would be possible to write some code into this hardfork that would perhaps, halt transactions for maybe 6 hours every year, consolidate the transactions and add up the total amount of StableCoins in each wallet from each transaction, and then reissue a new blockchain with the total calculated StableCoins for each wallet with all transactions from the previous year deleted, keeping the blockchain memory size small, and preventing the need from future transaction fee payments?

Just a thought. If this can work, it is truly an innovation to the cryptocurrency world, and will bring about even more interest in StableCoin as it is.

Stablecoin down from Rank #19 to Rank #23: http://coinmarketcap.com/

Lost -3.43%

Price went down from $.33 each to $.32 each. First time it has ever decreased in anything.

Sexcoin is being pumped. Went from 2.6 million to 7.5 million in a matter of hours even though it isn't accepted on any porn sites.

We need bter and the chances of that happening are quite high, compared to the Indian exchange which only works with bitcoin and litecoin, if I'm correct.

Of course. Feel free to list any other exchanges. The Indian exchange is important because it just listed Litecoin December 4th. If you have the info to any other exchanges please post it.

I tried finding some info for BTC38 but the only email I found was for sending links to their news repository.

Hi everyone,

I have created a thread dedicated to getting StableCoin listed on another exchange.

Please check it out, and contribute any exchange info of exchanges you would like StableCoin listed on, and I will add it to the OP post.

http://forums.stablecoin.net/index.php?topic=29.0

Thank you.

Hey all, I just built a Mac version of the 1.4 wallet. It's available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1caiuhjors8xdo3/StableCoin-Qt-1.4.0.0-Mac.zip

Enjoy!

Mac here. I can confirm this works. Says 1.4 for me, may as well include it in the OP.

Should really look into putting this on BTer, Cryptsy is complete trash right now.

Just emailed the admin at Bter, I recommend everyone else ask for StableCoin support as well. Here is my message:

To:

admin@bter.com

Subject:

StableCoin

Message:

Hey, do you think it would be possible to list StableCoin on the exchange? It seems to be a really good coin with a lot of potential but Cryptsy is the only one trading it right now, and I would really like to see it on a better site, like Bter.

Let me know what you think.

Also, is there a place we can follow the dev team for updates?

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge in this aspect, but does a 60 second block time mean 60 second transactions now instead of 40? Or no?

Okay guys, the Russian translation is about 3/4ths done.

It's very slow and painful to do it with my mother, and we just lost a whole block of translation because I was editing through a browser and accidentally went back on a page before saving. No big deal, but about half an hour of work gone.  Cry

I should come very close to finishing, if not finishing by tomorrow. The sooner the better

And finally, as predicted by me, you are going to hardfork for spending the 1.25 millions premined !!

Great plan ! Brilliant !

I wish people could be held accountable for their inane predictions.

What are you going to say when the spending of the 1.25 million doesn't happen? Of course you'll just disappear from these threads, until you get another opportunity to troll here again.

This is great, do we also have a dedicated forum ? It would be help to grow the stablecoin community i wouldn't mind actually helping in moderating it.

I'm personally v bullish about this coin and would love to see it grow into one of the major crypto currencies.

The closest thing we have is this, and r/StableCoin:

91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - stablecoin.net on: December 08, 2013, 08:01:14 PM

There is absolutely no proof that the 1.2 million premine is unspendable.
I'm just trying to warn those new here that this is a scam that will not end well, get out before the dump.

There is plenty of proof....the genesis block of bitcoin was rendered unspendable by a bit of code that the dev originally removed to make it spendable.

Now he placed the code back in to make it totally unspendable again, just like bitcoin, and if he tries to make it spendable, we will be able to see in the open source code what he's doing and reject the update.

The problem with people like you is that no matter what is told you will keep reiterating that we are wrong and it's a scam, even though it's proven time and time again it's not. So if I see another post from you saying it's a scam again, the natural response is to click the ignore button.

Wow, SBC is back on CoinMarketCap and it has dropped dramatically. Think this is because it was de-listed and people ran away?

No, I think it is because Bitcoin crashed, and then every single other crypto crashed as well.

Everyone, please remember to post evidence that proves you have shared StableCoin/information about StableCoin, as the OP requests you do.

Thank you.

I have just edited the Cryptocurrency wikipedia page, StableCoin is now mentioned in the first paragraph, because Zerocoin was mentioned in the first paragraph due to its anonymity features, so I figured StableCoin's mixing service needed to be mentioned there as well. Smiley

Hopefully it stays, let me know if you guys see it there!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency

I see it on there, but it will be removed shortly as it links to a non-wikipedia page which goes against their terms of service.

I've been working on getting a stablecoin page up, but I won't be able to do it tonight sadly.

It's not too much of a loss though.

Vote guys! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=360706.0

I got the first vote in, we should get a prize for that  Grin  Wink

Wow, this is actually a really important poll

This is the owner of a cryptocurrency payment processor website polling for which coin to accept for payment processing for businesses next. He says the poll closes on Sunday, so this would be a major victory for us if we win this. Let's not let this one lose. Spread it throughout the Stablecoin community while we can.

EDIT: I have a small update. My mom was out for most of the day, a lot longer than I expected. But we managed to translate about half the website to Russian. The next half will be done tomorrow :-D

Also, we're winning the poll to become accepted as a payment system by a huge margin! Don't forget to keep voting guys!

Ahhh. Ok good. I was starting to sweat.  Grin

I am a Unity3D developer. I was pondering in the back of my mind making a game (perhaps a few eventually?) that uses SBC for micro-transactions. This is just speculative at this point, but would anyone else in the SBC community be interested in working on something like that?

I would be interested...but right now my programming knowledge consists of loops, if/else statements, arrays, and user-defined functions in C++.

So I've been mining since about a week now. I started off with LTC, then did Middlecoin, but I've had my eyes on Stablecoin for about 5 days now and decided, this is the alt coin I want to support Smiley!

Just a quick, and most likely really nooby question, but what exactly are confirms? The CryptoCulture pool requires 35 confirms, but what are these and how do I figure out how many I have?

Hi, welcome to the team!  Smiley

I have a very rudimentary understanding of confirms, but from what I do understand, a confirm is something done naturally by the blockchain. As people download the blockchain, it helps confirm what transactions actually did and did not happen. A newly generated bitcoin requires 100 confirms that they were actually generated before they can be spent.

I'm probably not entirely accurate in this, but it is a basic concept. Confirms occur naturally and take a little bit of time for each one to complete.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: POLL: Which coin should BTC-E add next? on: December 07, 2013, 11:47:42 PM
Does everyone ignore the fact that Stablecoin has 1.2 million premined?

The premine was removed from circulation by making the genesis block unspendable after the developer came up with a new way to create anonymity without using a laundry system.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: What are the biggest scam/sh*t coins out there? on: December 07, 2013, 11:23:35 PM
It's kind of funny that some of the coins that got rated the highest as most likely to grow in 2014 similarly got rated highest as most likely to be shit or a scam.

I voted for NXT coins though, because the fine print on its exchange reads something like "All bitcoins placed into the exchange belong to the exchange.", and the owner of the exchange, and the main NXT website, also owns another domain with the word "Ponzi" in it for some reason.

It's an interesting concept but it needs to be steered clear of at all costs with the people running it.
