81  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Asian Whales: China will ban Bitcoin trading in Chinese Yuan or USD but... on: October 19, 2017, 03:06:25 PM
There is a rumor China will create a coin similar to USDT(Tether). China will ban Bitcoin trading in Chinese Yuan or USD but will allow Bitcoin trading with this coin made by the Bank of China. Again, regulations seem bad in the short term. However, in the long term, this will contribute to the further growth of the cryptocurrency market as this means governments are recognizing cryptocurrencies.

your reactions ??
you are welcome  Cheesy

Every government actions will come as a form of soft landing for their own future as well. Although, its still mere speculation but at the same time, I see a possibility in it which means I share in Op's position. Government of India knows by the time they control what you can change bitcoin to and vice versa, they are indirectly controlling where the money goes and comes  from. Even if they cannot control bitcoin they can then control what it can be used for before you can use it domestically.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Death of Bitcoin on: October 19, 2017, 02:24:52 PM
bitcoin is maintained by core developers, would Bitcoin die a natural death if the developers no longer exist? Or if they stop maintaining/developing/upgrading the system?

You know what, the bitcoin core is not only maintained by handful of developers because that has been the case, the numbers would have swallowed them and even make bitcoin core a thing of the past but the issue is that beyond them a lot of individuals have keyed into that dream. Satoshi is no longer in the picture but the dream is still being carried on which means even if the core developers are no longer there, bitcoin will still continue to survive because a lot of new people come in everyday.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC profits on: October 19, 2017, 01:29:37 PM
If i have 100USd now what should I invest it in to make about 5% everyday?

If you are expecting 5% return every day, you are going to lose all your money to a scam at some point.

This is just spot on because the only platform that would give you that amount of a daily basis which will then make it about 150% on a 30 day period is surely a Ponzi scheme which in this case, would not notify you about their intention to either shut down or stop paying which then means you lose your investment at the end of the day. Another probable way is to consider sport gambling in that you can even make more than 5% but be sure your money is on its way just by some who you don't know getting a red card.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do geeks in China launch their ICO project now? on: October 19, 2017, 09:38:34 AM
Seems like all ICO platforms are banned in China now...
Any foreign platforms?

The inability of launching from China in my opinion does not still stops Chinese people from participating in ICOs. A project has a team and the team comprise of citizens from different part of the world. So all that is needed is to find a member of the team in whose country ICOs is accepted or there is no a clear cut authority on the regulation of ICO and everything is settled. If on the otherhand Chinese ban equally affects being member of a team, then we can make it seems like we are hiring a consultant from China and I don't think there will be a law stopping one from working with companies outside the country.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be careful. (Newbies and others ...) on: October 19, 2017, 05:18:53 AM
At this time,  its very much OK to start exercising some element of skepticism as to what will happen to either price or bitcoin itself. From my point of view, I see some restrictions being happening between $5000+ but if the impending fork becomes a success, we can then see a further breakthrough beyond the $6000 mark.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trace Mayer Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $27,395 USD By February 2018 on: October 18, 2017, 11:26:18 PM

A speculative statement is being asked if its true or not. If its true then its no longer speculation at the same time it can't be false because even by February and the prediction didn't come to pass, we just assume its a failed prediction and not a false statement. People can just make statement without any basis but in my own case I would rather take the day as it comes rather than believing in speculations to make decisions.
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC price surge when Coinbase starts accepting BCH withdrawals? on: October 18, 2017, 06:42:08 PM
Coinbase will open up for Bitcoin Cash withdrawals on January 1st, 2018. Will users dump their Bitcoin Cash into Bitcoin, and do you think it'll boost Bitcoin's price in any significant way?

I believe yes because that has been the pattern and u am expecting that its will continue however there might be some disruptions because there are two expected forks before January which means alt coins which are popular are expected to get pumped with BCH a part of the coin which will then increase the price so coming January 1 when coinbase will do it crediting, some people might just decide to wait for the price to higher or even convert to cash straight.
88  Economy / Speculation / Re: This family bet it all on Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 04:25:06 PM
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/17/this-family-bet-it-all-on-bitcoin.html

They sold everything to buy bitcoin and are living in campsites, waiting to become millionaires.

They sold everything but they knew the risk and willfully entered into it. Whether its a good decision or the most foolish one, only the future can tell as to the time when they decide to cash out. If they invested at the point of $4000+ it they decide to cash out now, then they have made some amount of profit. But I am skeptical that by the time the price gets to $10000+ this family becomes automatically millionaires depending on the amount they put in at the time of their investment.
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price fall below $5,500. on: October 18, 2017, 03:48:01 PM
I have been following bitcoin price since the recent upwards price movement and I think $5875 has become the high and corrections has began. Checking price chart this morning I discovered that the down channel's line has been broken and that signal a dropped in buying momentum and price may get below  $5,000. However, this is another opportunity to buy bitcoin at a very cheap prices as before the end of this year bitcoin might hit $7,000. This corrections is not going to be a long one,  it might just be three to four days and we would resumes another upwards movement again.

The downward correction we are seeing in price to me is what should be expected as we should even be more careful if the only thing we are seeing is increase in price that will not only led to loss of confidence, but also give the media something to feed on as a negative that they always wanted to get about bitcoin. The market is volatile no doubt but the volatility is what makes it so interesting that makes us wake up everyday to be confronted with new challenges and how we can help is navigating such.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ELECTRONEUM ? on: October 18, 2017, 03:21:52 PM
I've seen so many people glorify this token... but others say it's only noobs doing it.. which I find ridiculous. I see so much potential in this being the top 5 ICOs of 2017. I've personally invested 150,000 tokens ... Based on my research this seems like a damn good project to take notice in... Thoughts? I don't care if you're new or seasoned in investing but you have to admit this is a promising prospect at this point in time. Everyone should invest *something* in it imo.

Electroneum is also one project that I have kept my eyes on and hope that it doesn't fail in that trust that a lot of people have put into it. There is no way a project will come without antagonism even the successful ones that have even against all odds survived. The community is an open one where every project is trying to get the required attention so there nothing new in having someone on the other side trying so hard to bring the project down. What should be of concern is whether the team are distracted or actually believed in what they are pushing out.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guess the Bitcoin Gold initial value? on: October 18, 2017, 01:58:58 PM
Hi All,

I'm curious how much everyone things Bitcoin Gold will initially be worth?  Also, at what price point do you think it has to be before everyone starts mining it?

I wonder if it's going to in the low cents like .002 cent coins, or if it's going to be in the hundreds like Bitcoin Cash was.

Obviously its not going to be as low as few cents otherwise its going to be dead on arrival and people will not even bother to make a claim of it at all. So, I am envisaging something close to a $1000 at a start then it will then drop gradually to maintain a stable position as we are seeing in bitcoin cash today. A lot of people will dump as fast as possible and I think that is what the team behind the project should try as much as possible to avoid.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be Taxed...... on: October 18, 2017, 06:36:07 AM
This is interesting could be a mass following with this. South Korea is preparing to Tax bitcoin use after the cryptocurrency's trading volume sky-rocked. This could spark a new trend s everyone battels to see how to control the life of cryptocurrency's

There is nothing wrong in taxing bitcoin and other related activities if there is need for the exchange site to continue operating and I see the exchange site acting as the tax agent on behalf of government who will deduct the tax element at the point of withdrawal either to a wallet or through fiat and thereafter remit same to government but the area of concern will the the amount of rate as well as modalities for such.
93  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use a Bitcoin debit card? on: October 17, 2017, 08:36:45 PM
I only have heard rumors of the existence of bitcoin debit cards and am sure that such debit cards would be used in the bitcoin ATM's that are spring up in some places in the world, there are not even enough normal ATM's in my country how much more the bitcoin ATMs.

Its not rumour as there have been severals ATMs both virtual and physical which can be used domestically like the normal ATMs just that the charges might be on the high side. I am still wondering which country you are that in the 21st century, there is no abundant amount of fiat ATMs. Although, over here too, I have not seen bitcoin ATM machines.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Surges Above $4900 Amid Catalan 'Independence' Declaration on: October 17, 2017, 06:56:17 PM
I still don't see any relationship between the price of bitcoin and Catalan's independence no matter how you try to link the two does that mean if the price should rise back to 5700, we should also expect the a news from that end. Its possible it might have effect but not to define it as you have painted it. Its not anywhere close to it at all.
Some might find this interesting. This news story was posted 20 hours ago.

Catalan Independence Movement Furious After Spain Jails Two Leaders For Possible Sedition

Political prisoners in Europe used to be a thing of the past; as of Monday afternoon, Spain has two.

Spanish judge Carmen Lamela has ruled that the leaders of the two biggest grassroots pro-independence associations in Catalonia should remain in prison without bail on possible charges of sedition for which, if convicted, they could face prison sentences of up to 10 years.

The legal investigation claims Jordi Sanchez, the leader of Catalan National Assembly (ANC) movement, and Jordi Cuixart, who heads the Omnium Cultural association, were heavily involved in organising the massive protest aimed at hindering a Guardia Civil investigation in Barcelona into the build-up for the 1 October illegal referendum. Specifically, members of the Guardia Civil were trapped in Catalan government offices on 20 September as a result of thousands of protestors encircling the building, in what has been described as a "siege" and during which three police vehicles were destroyed.

Now, in a decision that could further enflame separatist passions, both Cuixart and Sanchez are set to spend the night in a prison near Madrid; the two earlier refused to answer questions from the judge overseeing the investigation. Summoned to court twice on Monday, on entering they gave clenched fists victory salutes to a small group of supporters.

A few hours after this news story was posted, there was a decline in btc price from $5700 down to $5600.

As time passes we should see more evidence for or against Catalonia's independence movement being linked to btc value.
95  Economy / Services / Re: Certified Psychologist offers therapy sessions online. on: October 13, 2017, 04:10:28 PM
Cognitive behavioral psychology. Rational emotional therapy. Postgrade in psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology. English and Spanish US$ 40. Skype and facebook.

When one thought you have seen it all this kind of services just pop out from now where. One key thing about being a Psychologist is the ability to connect with your patient and see them so they gain trust and this can only be achieved with sessions where both the psychologist and the patient can relate which will be facilitated by physical presence unless you can prove to me that important first step can be achieved via skpe or Facebook at first meeting then this is pure waste of time.
96  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ConfirmTX.com - Bitcoin Transaction Accelerator - Free up to 500Bytes! on: October 13, 2017, 03:08:18 PM
Any reason for counting the 500 bytes as bytes and not weight units? A normal transaction with 500 bytes would have a total of 2000 weight units, since normal data counts as 4 weight units per byte. However, with Segwit transactions, a byte only counts as 1 weight unit for the witness data, so it takes up less space in a block compared to a normal transaction.

This was the transaction I wanted to accelerate: https://btc.com/276e391a4a0ac8aded6790fa8fd1a95b75a0a252061dbf760fe384c9a76563fc

It's rawtx size is 590 bytes, so your site wanted me to pay. It's virtual size is 347 bytes though, which is below your 500 byte limit and is how much space it counts toward the miners' 1 MB block.

It goes by Size Bytes (rawtx) https://blockchain.info/tx/276e391a4a0ac8aded6790fa8fd1a95b75a0a252061dbf760fe384c9a76563fc

I am still waiting to read the outcome of this particular transaction and also the word of darkstar which I will take as a vouch. But at the same time, there is viabtc accelerator which I have used in the past sometimes it gives notification of low fees and then do nothing. What is the difference with your service which means I can send a transaction with a ridiculous low fees then pay you $4 to make it confirm faster.

99  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Countries with weak economies can use cryptocurrency instead the dollars. on: October 13, 2017, 12:28:19 PM
I really want to understand how they want this to work out because countries with weak economies have among other things inflationary problem if bitcoin is now introduced, it then means there would be need to first start with capacity building for the entire population on how to use the new currency in a safe way which is not cheap at all. With the ever increasing price of bitcoin, it then mean the value of goods and services gets to change every time, that is adding more instability to the system that is ready weak.
100  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Not Yet Legal But Not Banned on: October 13, 2017, 09:59:07 AM
Its a matter of time before government will get their direction and I see it to be moving in the direction or regulation cum legalization as against the other option which talks about banning. Bitcoin has proven to be a wonderful project that happens once in many years and government argument as it relates to the illegality surrounding bitcoin is also solid. Which mean there is need to have a meeting point which I fee its what governments of several countries will be currently involved in.
