If you're on your User Dashboard page, look under the profile pic and you'll see an ID. I can use that ID to send an invite.

Be warned, this site has a serious learning curve.

I can do it.. Im just thinking of ways to integrate the platforms via tags api? Add some rpc calls to devcoin for tag service and rewards? it would give some nice advantage to dvc over other alts for sure.

PM me your TAG ID, email or name and I'll send the invite.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DVC now added to Tagbond.com on: December 18, 2013, 04:51:18 PM
We have added Devcoin to the Tagbond.com and Tagcash.com platforms - You can now use the system to sell and advertise products and services in DVC, set up promotions for rewards in DVC, and shortly be able to trade it for any other coin or Fiat currency we have in the system. We are still in beta, and still making changes daily so if there any tweaks to make let us know.

You can also use the Android apps we have in place, including a Tagbond Personal Cash app, that will let you quickly send amounts to any other Tagbond user. At any time you can deposit and withdraw DVC to and from your wallets.

Great news! Now we can buy devcoins via paypal! I really think we should consider how we pay for our marketing by using tagverts so that payment is only done if users sign up to devtome(start from converting the devtome links) If there is code involved I can work on it from the wallet side.

I should stress the importance of getting it on this exchange since it offers alot of fiat currencies btc tag and now dvc.. fully regulated with a good business model. This will help dvc aswell as tag if we work together.

The exchange is here https://trade.tagbond.com/

I created a custom tagbond site at devcoin.tagbond.com back in October. If anyone in the higher up ranks of DVC or Devtome want ownership, I will gladly hand it over. It may provide a very nice brand for using the Tag offerings.
84  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Seller "bitcoininc" on Cryptothrift on: December 18, 2013, 01:55:16 AM
He has no rating. Two items appear to have been sold, one of which was the one I bought.

I should admit that this is partly my fault for handling the deal through the Cryptothrift PM system. I expected the auction to be pulled when he agreed to the deal. So at that point of the argument, yes, I'm an idiot.

But I'm still very upset at CT's response: You did not handle the transaction through our system or our escrow.

Yes, it is true. I did not use their escrow, but I did use their PM in case an audit was required. I wanted the agreement in digits. Didn't do me any good though.

Perhaps this is just an object lesson for everyone else. Don't do a deal without escrow. And don't trust people with no ratings. I've bought so much through bitmit and never had a problem. Even off the forum at mcxNOW. Never had a bad deal.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: <ANN> 20 Million Incakoin Bounty $5000 USD Cash Reward on: December 18, 2013, 01:47:38 AM
Bumping this due to no response from the "dev" team of IncaKoin.

You now have ~14 hours to respond. If no bounty/reply is received by 04:00:00 GMT 11/12, we will begin systematically replacing the existing NKA blockchain with ours which is now considerably longer and more secured.

To holders of NKA, the modified client will be posted for all to download and a massive give-away of the new chain's NKA will begin--should no bounty be sent, consider it a hostile takeover. Your existing NKA will be rendered worthless and disappear, but Cthulhu is a generous god and he will rain Inca gold upon those who take up his fork.

The clock is ticking.

I can't believe I didn't see this earlier. A month ago? Sheesh.  The new nodes seem to connect just fine. I have about 240K of the "old" NKA. Vast riches await. Er...maybe not.

Blazr2, is your bounty for adopting the new fork still valid?

If so, I'm in: NWbMTYurFJ3cQR73yoZwKoNKy38n2CFLLw
86  Economy / Scam Accusations / Seller "bitcoininc" on Cryptothrift on: December 18, 2013, 12:41:54 AM
Paid 1.2 BTC (when prices were a little higher) for a 30 ghash BFL.

Seller disappeared. No contact. Repeated inquiries are not answered.

The seller has other items for sale. Beware.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Official] Cryptsy Coin Poll on: December 17, 2013, 04:23:35 PM
Cryptsy rocks!

That self-audit feature on Crypsty is great! I don't think there's another exchange that offers the user the opportunity to perform their own customer service support when their balances fall off the planet.

And that double arb feature is amazing! Cryptsy offers negative balances! So if you find a really good deal, you can buy it twice. Nobody else does that. Nobody.

Coin retention is also an incredible plus. The devs have figured out a great marketing tool to keep coins on the exchange. By consistently claiming to have delays in deposits and withdrawals, Cryptsy retains a substantial amount of the coins it somehow manages to get on the exchange. Truly revolutionary.

Way to go, Cryptsy. You stand out!

By the way, that bulk email you sent out telling everyone their accounts were frozen was inspiring and sets you apart as a genuinely professional organization.

Devtome network error?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 10, 2013, 02:03:04 AM
* I understood the point of devtome and the % of share allocation to date, as building a model with revenue to invest into supporting DVC value, as well as the wiki itself, and so helping to enable everything else to come. That means pageviews and revenue, the commercial element, are fundamental to success, so I'm not sure changing that dynamic would help.

Good points. Because it could be done, doesn't mean it should. If it's ever needed, feel free to contact me!
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 09, 2013, 12:28:13 AM
As I understand it Devtome is beginning to generate traffic and revenue. The services you suggest don't, although they might. So although I think they may be good ideas for the future, wouldn't it be counterproductive to make the content available through a means that counteracts the initial medium? I appreciate it's a bit chicken-and-egg, in that what comes first - visibility or hits - but if Devtome is ever to build towards self-sustaining income generation I'd have thought it will require more hits than only from those writing on it. Also, unless you mean you'd manually select articles...snipped...

...Edit: Actually I didn't read that properly when you said 'create ...of devtome pages' & 'place it on each Devtome page for those who would like the service'.

Then it has merit?

I see it as an enhancement to existing pages. Not all, but those who would likely pass a peer rating and are formatted nicely.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 08, 2013, 06:45:57 PM
I've toyed around with the idea of offering to help publish Devtome articles as ebooks. I raised this with FuzzyBear some time ago.

The service I would offer is:

1. Create an ebook in PDF, epub or mobi of Devtome pages.
2. Create a link to the downloadable version of the ebook and place it on each Devtome page for those who would like the service.

I use Sigil as my editor and Smashwords as the publishing tool. I would use Readmill to distribute the documents on Devtome via a simple HTML link on the Devtome article page. Since the article exists on Devtome already, I would add a common license to the front of each book to further advertise the site. The books *can* be sent on to outlets. That might create more traffic if Devtome is clearly mentioned in each book. This would not generate royalties, but would just create more visibility for DevCoin in general. On the other hand, if the books are only accessible by visiting a Devtome page, it seems like their might be more click-through traffic on individual pages.

Other details like attribution can be handled individually and through PM.

Thoughts?
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CGB-type Ad Campaign on: December 08, 2013, 05:49:52 PM
CryptogenicBullion had a big marketing campaign and their facebook page has the second-most likes out of all cryptocurrencies.  They used a lot of advertising mediums.  Should we try some real-world ads?  Some of the ads cost about 10 shares for a 4-week period.

I'll give one of my upcoming shares to this as a donation.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 08, 2013, 05:44:23 PM
I've been messing around with automatic feeds, as some of you know.

Hopefully, if everything is set up correctly, any "recent items" on Devtome will auto post to this URL:

http://devcoin.wordpress.com/

I've also set it up to automatically post any updates to unthinkingbit's Charity github. That way, I won't have to F5-bomb the site every day.

This goes along with my other posts dealing with automation of DVC info:

http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_prices_ms_excel
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=if_this_then_that_feeds
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devtome_feeds

Additionally, you can have Devtome articles sent to your Kindle or Readability app on your computer or phone by using Readability. This application cleans up links and basically just returns the text in a minimalist, reading friendly format. Set up a http://www.readability.com/ account and install the browser widget in Chrome. Then when you're browsing through Devtome and find an article you want to read later, just click the Readability icon and it's sent to you to read at your convenience.

Another speed saving device is an auto feed from Devtome to your Twitter. Here's the recipe. Just connect your Twitter to it and you're done. https://ifttt.com/recipes/132683

I hope it's helpful.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 06, 2013, 10:33:27 PM
I've created an online ticker-type website for devcoin against the dollar for the chart bounty.
Quote from: Devtome
18 shares for a chart which shows the price of devcoins in USD. The chart should show prices from at least 3 months in the past.
http://dvcticker.bugs3.com/

I am wondering how I can automatically create a javascript chart or excel file to record the prices hourly or daily. (e.g. the chart automatically updates each hour based on site data)  I will give 5 shares from the bounty if you can assist me!  (maybe more, too!)  Smiley

Funny timing...I've been playing with Excel and importing various exchange information into them so I can determine a good arb.

One solution:

1. In Excel (I use the most recent Office) click on Data on the toolbar.
2. On the left, click "From Web" and enter the URL of an exchange. I've not been able to import some sites, like Coinex (no DVC, but a good example) and mcxNOW (now dead to DVC). Every other DVC exchange that I know of works fine (cryptsy, crypto-trade, cryptocoincharts, vircurex). Cycle through the prompts you're given.
3. To organize, choose an empty cell and use the following formulas:
 a. To retrieve the ticker symbol "=LEFT(Cryptsy!A15,3)" [LEFT tells Excel to start from the left of the cell in tab "Cryptsy" starting in cell A15 and responds with the first 3 characters.]
 b. To retrieve text from the middle "=MID('BTC-e'!A24,5,3)" [Here I'm reading a mid character, from sheet BTC-e, cell A24, starting with the 5th digit, returning 3 characters. BTC-e data pulls differently than Cryptsy and Coinex.]
 c. To retrieve the last price "=RIGHT(Cryptsy!A15,10)" [Returns the leftmost 10 characters.]

After adding the formulas, cut and paste them into a different tab. I just created tabs for the exchanges and then BTC, LTC, DVC, etc. The reason is that when you refresh your data, anything else on that sheet will be purged. So that's why you see my examples above with tab names instead of just cell names.

After doing the above steps, you can see all the prices in a convenient location representing the different exchanges at a glance. You can set refresh to auto or manual. You *can* save it as an html or pdf output, but it won't keep your formulas.

Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Grr. I've been using this since your first release. libusb-1.0.dll is now missing after installing the new version. I tried standard dll updates and still MM won't recognize it.

Help! My hash is wasting away! My poor ASICs are lonely.

I referred someone to download the devcoin wallet he wanted to buy some coins however on win 8 he said it was shutting down on him without warning. Also I
noticed that its built for 32 bit.. is there a 64 bit wallet out? It should be added to the main download portals.

Also why is the wallet still showing bitcoin? Thought someone did a rename a while back??? cmon guys these are the basics we need to pick our game up.. either give testers some shares or hire proper admin developers!!

I have W8 x64. The current DVC client works fine for me.
