Strange. I'm gonna ask my mate (who's hosting the PC for me) to manually switch slot. I'm hoping that the issue is that all three x16 slots need to be populated. Currently I plugged the risers in the order of the slots on the mobo. We'll see.

Personnaly I have always use the 2 main x16 slots first. Like I would with physical GPUs.

As a matter of fact, Windows will now only see four of the five cards even after I run DDU so something's fubar... Sad

Ran into same kind of problem this morning.
6th GPU stopped by itself and was stopping a few minutes after restarting the rig.
I switched GPU #6 with #5 and everything went back to normal. Go figure.

I apologize for troubling you fellow's

I am still searching for a solution.

This is what is happening. The miner performs fantastic with 4 cards but when I add a fifth card only 3 cards are running. The 2 cards that are not mining show up in the device manager with code 12 - not enough free resources.

This rig consists of the following -

CPU  G4400 Skylake 1151
Biostar TB 250
4 gb RAM
4 x MSI 1070 8gb Armor  , 1 x MSI 1070 gaming 8gb (all on powered risers)
EVGA 1000 P2
120 gb SSD
Windows 10 64 bit Pro Version 1703 (just updated)

I ran into a similar problem with RX 570's and never quite figured out the driver patch until I watched Cryptomined's video. By then I had already switched over to ethOS. Which by the way runs fantastic. To bad there is no support for Nvidia with it. I have 4 rigs running that presently. Rig5 is the first Nvidia rig and today is the first time I have had more than 4 cards.

If someone could point me to a link or thread or anything I would really appreciate it.

TIA

I think your PSU is too thin on power.
(5 gpu *150w)+(5risers*25w)+100w for the rest= 975w at 82% performance = 1150w.@ the wall.

Thanks for the response.

I swapped out a 1300 from a different rig. I am getting the same result. The four card system is drawing 628 according to a killawatt.
I have searched just about everything I can think of. I haven't even found anyone else having the same problem.

In bios > advance settings > Peg1 & peg0 should be set to Gen1
                                     > above 4G     enable.
High definition audio = disable.

On one of my MSI MB I had to flash update the bios to get an option saying "Mining ------" cant recall exactly.

I confirm the problem with stopping miner. Fix will be soon.
Please respond to my query about Linux version. Thank you.

Just read the thread your question has been answered already be some question of the same nature. Don't be lazy man.

I get the same result.
Why do I get -

INFO: Api: Disabled

when the miner starts? Do I need to change something there?

:restart
Timeout /t 30
miner --server eu1-zcash.flypool.org --user t1cA38xyUxJRDdQYacD6x7UUL8nyjTfKeo1.GigaGamer --pass x --port 3333 --cuda_devices 0 1 --intensity  32 32 --eexit 3 --solver 0 --log 2 --logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log --fee 2 --pec --api
ping 127.0.0.1
goto restart

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: June 20, 2017, 05:01:25 AM
I am having a tough time understanding how to use API.

Added http api you can use http://127.0.0.1:42000/getstat address to get statistics.

This is the result -

This site can’t be reached
127.0.0.1 refused to connect.

so here is my command line -

:restart
Timeout /t 30
miner --server us1-zcash.flypool.org --user t1ZLXNkPtzjAg2GbjvTsU7KxbuuTwsegrYR.gronk5 --pass x --port 3333 --eexit 3 --solver 0 --log 2 --intensity 64 --api 127.0.0.1:4200 --logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log --fee 2 --pec
ping 10.0.0.9 > nul
goto :restart

This is what I get when the miner starts

INFO: Server: us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
INFO: Solver User defined.
INFO: Devices: All.
INFO: Temperature limit: 90
INFO: Api: Disabled

What do I need to do to enable API? Something on the this end? Something on the mining end?

TIA

Just use http://127.0.0.1:42000

FAQ:
Q: How to select a GPU that will be used by a miner
A: Use option --cuda_devices 0 1 2 digits is id of the devices which will be used.
The "--cuda_devices X Y" option don't work : all the GPUs are used :-(
Impossible to select the GPUs you want to mine ZEC.

lol, unless you do not have cuda GPUs it should work.
It works for every body here.

Make sure you have the right syntax.

--cuda_devices 0 1 2 3 4 5

--cuda_devices 0  = if you want only the first card to mine.

@EWBF_
Is it true that GPUs use only one of their CPUs to process the work?
A friend of mine read somewhere that Nvidia was preparing to release a cheap card that
would be equiped with a sole cpu for mining purpose only.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: June 19, 2017, 03:35:52 PM
SOMEBODY PLEASE write the correct script/code for miner reset when a GPU hangs, 'thread exit code 46 - or whichever".

It happens to me during the night and I lose hours of mining because of that,
I tried all suggestions from this topic, but nothing worked.

And send me your btc address, I'll give out a reward to successful solution.

So... about that script? EWBF?
Anybody?

It should be fairly simple to write a miner reset code when sols drop to zero,
I'm not a dev, but it's no nuclear science, right guys?

Put this in the .bat file:
:loop
miner --eexit 1 --server eu1-zcash.flypool.org --port 3333 --user t1QmwNgVc6VrhTuGgL9so7jeVz1BYcN3dPz --pass x
goto loop
--eexit 1  - exit when gpu cannot be restarted.

Problem is that gpus are restarted and keep working with 0 sols, so program doesn't ever terminate with this command unless we manually reopen it.

EXACTLY!
I tried all settings written here, and they don't work.
The miner just hangs there infinitely, trying to work with 0 sols.

Can't there be a script which resets the whole program?

And what about a script who restart the pc, and another script who start each time when the pc restart.
I think that it is possible and you only will lose around 2 minits of mining.

sorry for my english.

I need opinions about my setup.
Currently I have 11 gpus (all RX 480). I can sell them around 425 USD per gpu. If all sold, then I'll have 4675 USD. With this I think I can buy 5 1080ti. And I'll still have room for additional 1080ti's.

Each 1080ti has around 4 months roi. In long term it will be more profitable in my opinion. And resale value will be higher in case mining profit of rx 480 decreases over time. What do you think? Shall I risk my setup and switch to nvidia?
Depends what you want to mine.
$425 for a used Gpu seems high to me.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: June 19, 2017, 03:23:38 PM
Currently mining with 4 Gtx 1080's.

How do I use more than 3? Whenever I plug in the 4th one it randomly chooses one to not work.

I have a 1500 Watt power supply and a z97x motherboard, running on windows 8.1

I'm guessing it's a windows 8.1 issue?

I bet you have a MSI mobo so you will have to flash update the bios and do the necessary configs.
- enable peg0 and and peg1
- enable memory over 4G
- setup latency to 64 bits

Hello guys. A the begining I'm sorry for my english.
I have a problem with my mining rig
My conf:
6x1070 MSI ARMOR GPU
Celeron
4GB DDR4
120SSD
MSI Z170 MAINBOARD
cooler master 1200w platinum

Maybe I have a bad conf in mainboard bios?
Im using newest gpu drivers.
Do you have any tips what should i do to work on 6 cards ?

i get around 30 % more hashrate when i run 2 instances of miner with half intensity on my 1080s.

Tried it for a short 30min test with my 1070s and did not get any h/s improvement.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: June 17, 2017, 03:00:35 PM
My toys are making too low hashrate, are too hot and devouring too much energy.
I can't even. Supermicro 4028 case.

Is that a joke?

Hi, could somebody tell me what's solver # meaning? differents mining alg?

solver 0 = most recent GPU

Thx, could you be more specific? how NOT so recent should be my gpu to use 1 or 2 or 3? does it have to do with cuda CC ver? or just gpu type? is there any table of usage?

No solver detailed description have been published so you will have to go with trial & error. The solver 0 is for the 1000 series  I guess.
If you have a 900 series GPU then you should try solver 1.
I have all 1070s GPUs and solver 0 works perfectly.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: June 16, 2017, 10:18:49 AM
Is there a way to fix gpu not restarting properly, it just keeps saying its restarted but thread error 44 and not mining again. I'm now starting all gpus separately so if only one fails the rest are still mining. That taskill loop/restart workaround doesn't want to work.

To have 480sols on 1070 you need to OC, mine is +130/700 and 76 power, voltage is ~0.943, gpu clock is around 1950Mhz, memory 2250 in gpuz.
700 but it crashes. better have only 450s/s and no crash. What do yo think?
