81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Silver Fork - December on: November 16, 2017, 08:50:02 AM
2018 is going to be the year of the forks.
I expect this to accelerate and start happening on other coins too.

83  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling The Bitcoin Ugly Christmas Sweatshirts on: November 16, 2017, 08:29:27 AM
Awesome design, well done.
You could probably sell a few ethereum too.
Maybe even send one free to Vitalik.
That could help with some publicity
84  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-16] Bitcoin Prices Could Reach $196,165.79 on: November 16, 2017, 08:26:02 AM
Strange number for a price prediction.
The article states that to reach that bitcoin will need to be pushed much more by the younger generation and that it will take time.
It doesn't give any time frame though.
Seeing these potential 6 figure estimates in mainstream media is becoming more common though
85  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-14] BTC Trading for $12.5K In Zimbabwe on: November 16, 2017, 05:29:18 AM
Zimbabwe is a classic example of where people were screwed by a despot.
And it was such a rich country to start.
At least there is bitcoin now and some people are getting accessing to it
86  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-15] Billionaire Bull Novogratz: Big Money is Coming to Bitcoin, Real... on: November 15, 2017, 07:05:55 AM
The more that wealthy individuals believe in bitcoin and put their money in the more stability it gives to price.
And the more coverage there is about them doing it the more it entices institutional money to enter.
And when that happens price will move quickly. Really quickly
87  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-14] When will bitcoin collapse and what stands behind crypto hype on: November 15, 2017, 07:01:53 AM
I think either extreme case is unlikely.
I don't think bitcoin will be wiped out or replace fiat anytime soon.
88  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-14] BTC Trading for $12.5K In Zimbabwe on: November 15, 2017, 06:59:19 AM
I'm just thinking about this.
5.6 bitcoin would be a million South African Rand at that price.
Crossing the border and carrying that much cash is pretty much a death wish. *gulp*
89  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-14] BTC Trading for $12.5K In Zimbabwe on: November 15, 2017, 06:56:20 AM
This makes a trip to Zimbabwe seem very appealing.
Double your bitcoin
90  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-09] Bitcoin Cash Markets Remain Resilient As the Network’s Upgrade Appr on: November 14, 2017, 11:45:59 AM
Everyone says that not a single crypto currency can exceed Bitcoin's original, but the situation on the market is becoming very strange. Bitcoin original becomes cheaper, and bitcoin Cash becomes more expensive. It scares me
For a few days.
And cheaper is a fifteen percent drop from ATH.
And still up more than forty percent in a month.
BCH has increased in price but to frame it the way you did above is very misleading.
Time will tell....
91  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-13] Why Aren’t There More Women in Bitcoin? on: November 14, 2017, 11:37:12 AM
My point is that generally speaking the more women that are involved in something the less prone it is to machismo and ego based political battles.
I'm comfortable to stand behind that remark.
92  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-13] Why Aren’t There More Women in Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2017, 06:49:19 PM
We often hear that there aren't a lot of women.
While it's true there are more men I think there are a lot more women than people realise.
I also think we NEED more women.
The more women involved the less politics and BS we'll see
93  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-12] Bitcoin rival doubles in price in four days as Bitcoin price slumps on: November 13, 2017, 06:45:00 PM
I think some perspective is important here.
With all the press about "bitcoin price falling" it's important to remember that it's down less than 20% from ATH and still up 40% from last month.
Not exactly bad performance....
94  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: i want to cancel unconfirmed bitcoin transaction on: November 12, 2017, 01:33:10 PM
Did you try rebroadcast?
I am interested to know if it worked.
Thanks
95  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin Africa on: November 12, 2017, 01:29:27 PM
It's also a very interesting market because of the disproportionate mobile usage.
High rates of mobile devices even amongst the poorest.
The right solution could really take advantage of that.
96  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin Africa on: November 11, 2017, 03:18:31 PM
Kenya is an amazing area for bitcoin adoption.
Great balance between developed infrastructure and massive unbanked population
97  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-10] Bitcoin could reach $10,000 by Christmas on: November 11, 2017, 03:16:03 PM
How quickly things change in crypto.
Despite the price decline and fud over the last day I still think bitcoin looks bullish for the end of the year.
Thoughts?
98  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-09] Will bitcoin be the demise of gold? on: November 09, 2017, 06:31:22 PM
Gold will continue to exist, you can't wipe it out just like that. Bitcoin's role is different than gold's. It offers more investment opportunities but also more risk. It was made to give people an alternative and break the chains of the banking system around them. It can coexist with gold and once the dust settles and BTC's  price stabilizes gold will still be there. Much cheaper, much more affordable and much more robust.
Perfect. I wanted to say the same thing but you said it better.
Exactly this.
99  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin Africa on: November 09, 2017, 06:19:00 PM
I think Pesabase is also from Africa.
Also Wala payments and Augmentors.
And I have heard of one other that is in development but not yet announced.
100  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-08]Segwit2x "suspending our plans for the upcoming 2MB upgrade" on: November 09, 2017, 09:15:46 AM
Upgrade is indeed needed but apparently we don't need an upgrade since the majority of the community doesn't have major concerns or problem on current upgrade (segwit), This is only my opinion and that's how i see the situation. Upgrade is not needed as of now.

We will need to do upgrades or improvements as we continue.
But this is the evolution of the tech, not some imminent need to avert disaster.
And 2x was not an upgrade, even if some people tried to sell it that way.
