81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Top Performing Altcoin In 2020 on: January 18, 2020, 05:32:41 PM
I would vote for BNB. If market starts to recover, since binance platform is the most popular and common exchange platform, BNB will be very profitable imo. (If binance platform stays safe and unhacked ofc.)
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Consider All Altcoins Bad on: January 18, 2020, 04:38:42 PM
The question is why do some people generalize all Altcoins as bad? considering there are over 3000 of them out there. One would not have the time to go through each project one by one. to analyze the project. team etc everything behind each crypto project.
There has to be some project out there under good intentions. Not all projects could be a scam. I admit I only have a top 4 i consider when it comes to best coins. But yet many should be decent at least honest projects out there. Afterall we do need more projects. more quality projects out there in order for crypto to succeed.

your thoughts

i dont think it is a productive idea to blame and make general negative comments about alts. Altcoins are also big part of this ecosystem and there are very good projects which provides much better solutions even better than bitcoin.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can make more profit ? on: January 18, 2020, 10:20:24 AM
What you think more profit, participate in IEO or wait after IEO and buy the token from exchanges?

Participating ieos are of course more profitable comparing to buying from exchanges. You can buy much cheaper from ieos. But you have to be sure about the project not to be scammed. Because you have to wait till they are listed.
84  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 18, 2020, 09:48:03 AM
full time trading would be profitable for me maybe if only the market was so bullish. because i am not an expert and the market is very dynamic. volatility is too high. so if you are not enough good to follow everything it is very risky to make full time trading.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the real reasons of recent BTC rally? on: January 18, 2020, 07:21:08 AM
Bitcoin is up about 22% in the first 15 days of 2020, notching its best start-of-year surge since 2012, The Wall Street Journal first reported. We expect institutional interest to drive prices higher throughout the year. Altcoins have also soared!

But I want to hear from the senior members what can be the reasons for increasing the Bitcoin price? How the market sentiment is working now? Will it increase more?

i think it is because of the demand. i mean since halving is on the way, many investors think that bitcoin price is going to increase beacuse of the affect of halving. I also believe that prices below 7k usd is very lowly possible in short mid term.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you always invest in top ranked coins? on: January 17, 2020, 07:57:18 AM
Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

A good question.

It depends on market condition. I prefer to invest in more known coins when the market is not in good condition. Because when market is downtrend, it is better to stay in high volume currencies not to loose too much. low volume cryptocurrencies can be dumped more easily.

But when i feel that market is in uptrend, i take some risk and invest also a little bit in less popular coins that i trust.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altseason Has Almost Arrived For Altcoins. on: January 17, 2020, 07:10:02 AM
It’s a well known fact in the crypto market that altcoins typically have their bull market moment after bitcoin has finished its course. With BTC dominance breaking above 60% for the first time in 2 years, it certainly seems like the time is coming for altcoins to enjoy new highs.

It's about time for altcoins to shine!!

You may want to read this blog from kucoin about altseason https://kucoinblog.com/what-is-altseason-and-bitcoin-dominance-btctk

I am trying to compare todays market status with 2017. And the situation is really very different. It was not that much bearish before 2017. So it is hard to predict anything about altcoins in my opinion. But ofcourse who knows? This is crypto.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance going to list BSV again after skyrocketing price? on: January 17, 2020, 06:27:12 AM
I dont think so. Because everybody knows the reputation of Craig Wright and Bitcoin SV. So i don't think binance would like to re-list BSV because people would blame binance to let such manipulated currencies listed again and again.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Craig Wrigt = Satoshi? Why only Bitcoin SV? on: January 16, 2020, 06:40:04 PM

There was 130% spike in Bitcoin SV in a day.

Why does this news drastically affect Bitcoin SV? Not others? or maybe Others too?

Btw, has anyone participated in airdrop events on digifinex? for getting token like playful and bispex?

looks like Wright wanted to manipulate and make some money with the advantage of the gossips and popularity of the court. I dont think that raise is something parmenent. It is still very risky to hold BSV.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH, ETH OR BTC? which coin is best to buy and HODL for 2020. on: January 16, 2020, 12:39:15 PM
If i had only opportunity buy these 3 cryptocurrencies, i would prefer holding Ethereum and Bitcoin together.  50% ethereum and 50% bitcoin. And i would aim to increase my ethereum amount when sharp moves happens on bitcoin, ethereum price probably drops and i would buy more ethereum.

nothing beats bitcoin up until now in terms of popularity of usage alone. thousands of altcoins have been created and launched, yet, bitcoin still holds its ground as the leading cryptocurrency. eth on the other hand has different usage, and that is the reason why it is being used by many projects courtesy of its smart contract feature. so yes, i would go for these 2. whereas, BCH, I have never used it for payment nor trading purposes so I don't have idea about the benefits of using this alt.

I agree. Ethereum still has a very good potential in a possible alt season. Because new possible icos in the near future may increase the demand to ethereum like they did in 2017. I believe that ethereum can raise up over 1k usd as it did before.

92  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Get Its First Price? on: January 16, 2020, 08:53:39 AM
Today, the price of bitcoin is going up and down. Many are saying that the price of Bitcoin cannot reach $ 20,000 now.
That can be the right thing to see. This is the reason why Bitcoin has been locked in several countries. The only way Bitcoin can be priced in its true state is if the countries where Bitcoin is closed are removed. Did I say right?

i don't agree. Bitcoin is something that supports decentralization. If governments would support bitcoin, it would conflict with interest of all crypto ecosystem. Bitcoin will gain more power fighting against all centralized authorities.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright provided the list of addresses that contains 1.1 million btc on: January 16, 2020, 05:25:45 AM
As the case against kleiman progresses, Craig Wright produced a list of addresses that supposedly contains 1.1 million bitcoins as evidence in front of the judge, the coins mined together by Craig and Kleiman on the initial stage of Bitcoin.
https://u.today/craig-wright-provides-list-of-16404-bitcoin-btc-addresses-that-contain-95-bln-is-he-real-satoshi?amp

It does not prove anything. Only when you “sign” a bitcoin address, it means that you own that wallet. Otherwise anybody can easily give some wallet numbers with a total amount of 1.1 million bitcoins. It doesn't make sense.
94  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What wallet do you prefer? on: January 15, 2020, 06:57:09 PM
I prefer hardware wallet. I have been using trezor wallet for a long time. It is quite useful and very easy to use. I have never had any problem with it since beginning.
On the other hand if i had a bigger portfolio and larger amount of bitcoin, i would prebably prefer paper wallet.
95  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good sign for market on: January 15, 2020, 01:30:27 PM
For the past four years we have witnessed a massive drop starting from last week of December when it comes to the price of bitcoin but this year it was not the same case, does that mean that we have good days ahead? because even during 2017 bull run it started in November and lasted till the beginning of 4th-week of December then the price started to drop.

I think this is a good sign for bitcoin.

but you should take into account that the market was not that bearish before november. I remember the market condition for both bitcoin and altcoins were also profitable in all 2017. So that rally was not a sudden reversed trend. I think expecting for a stable slowly uptrending market is better.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose DEX? How to avoid scam? on: January 15, 2020, 12:56:56 PM
I'd like to discuss DEX exchanges and its variety.
There are many of it, and top-lists of top DEX exchanges are appearing often as well (here's an example for 2019). After reading one of the latest articles about it, I started to think -- there's too much info and not all of it is trustworthy. Reading reviews, comparing fees... I'd like to know which DEX platform you use and how did you make a decision about it?
Could you tell if you stick to one particular platform or use several of them? What criteria did you rely on?

I have only used idex for a while. I had no problem about it. But to be honest i prefer to trade in exchanges with bigger volumes like binance, bittrex etc. Because it is hard to buy or sell the things in dexes due to lack of orders.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else think "long term" hodlers are idiots? on: January 15, 2020, 10:09:34 AM
Funny how every time the market is in a recession and losers keep holding on to their losses they magically become "long term" holders.

God damn it, "long term" is such a stupid meme. Admit it, you wanted to get rich quick and once you realised you are too dumb to swing trade you suddenly became a "long term" loser.

Such idiocity.

You think Dan Balzerian held anything "long term"?

Long term is for losers.

I dont think so.
You shouldn't forget that till end of 2017, the holders were the real winners of crypto market. that long down trend does not mean that holders will not make good profits again in the future.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is dead these days, what next in the market? STO? IEO? on: January 14, 2020, 06:23:08 PM
In the last 2 years ICO has gone upto peak level with many projects.
Now ICO market is completely gone because of 90% projects fallen into scam category.
Many startups made huge money and in return they pay nothing.
So whats new these days as a trusted token offering model?

It was always like this. more than 90% of the projects were considered scams. And the community is also guilty about it. Even during the bullish run in 2017, people were investing in the projects that were scam for sure. But they were supporting them to make some profit.
99  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you use cryptocurrencies in your daily life? Are they useful? on: January 14, 2020, 04:45:34 PM
I have been using cryptocurrencies as investment only. I am extremely scared to spend my cryptocurrencies. Because i know i will be very mad in the future if the prices go so much up. I only have bought a trezor wallet once few years ago spending some waves.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing is wrong with altcoins on: January 14, 2020, 04:28:13 PM
I will start hating altcoins only when bitcoin raise up to 20,000$ and altcoins fail to move up as well, many people are putting blames on altcoins today as if bitcoin is not in loss itself, the ATH of btc was 20k and now it's trading for 7,000+ thats like 12,000$ lost please how will this not affect other altcoins as well? Top altcoins will surely lose value as well, to me this present loss of altcoins are positive, look at coins like LTC, EOS, BNB, these coins are doing fine. You will only have problem if you invest in crap altcoins

Bitcoin was around 20k usd at all time high. It is around 8k usd at the moment. It lost about 60% of its value. On the other hand even major altcoins lost around 90% of their value. So it is normal that people are nervous about holding altcoins nowadays.
people are nervous because they invested their money without studying the coins in which they invested. those people who are sure that the coins which they are holding are fundamentally very strong - don’t worry that now these coins have lost 90 percent of their value. People are happy about it and they  buy more in order to get more profit later
I partially agree.
But please do not forget that even the very major cryptocurrencies falled down too much. Check ethereum. İt is the strongest crypto currency and has vitalik rulling it. but it even falled too much.
I agree that it is a good chance to buy more for the ones that you believe in.
