81  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia wants to build a new world order with China on: April 13, 2022, 05:15:01 PM
A new economic system is coming to the world and that system will not be dominated by the West. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev (former Russian president) said in an interview with Russian media yesterday.

Quote
Medvedev said: "Hellish sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States, the EU, and their allies in the Ukraine conflict have failed to cripple Russia. Now, these sanctions are coming back to the West.

"As the West continues its futile efforts to corner Russia, the world is slowly moving towards a new global economic relationship. We are moving towards improving the financial system ', he added.

"Confidence in the reserve currency is fading like a morning mist and the prospect of the dollar and the euro leaving does not seem unrealistic now," Medvedev said.

High inflation rates weaken USD dominance for sure but are it really possible to replace USD as a reserve currency or the USA will allow that so easily? The era of regional currency is coming?
This is currently happening. Could we imagine a few years ago what we see today? It is profitable for any country in the world to sell their goods for their own currency. This saves a lot of money and contributes to the development of the country as a whole. I think that in the near future, it is clear that there will be four major powers - the USA, China, Russia and India. The rest of the countries will have to join them and be under their protection. Each group will have its own system of monetary relations and the order of interaction between countries.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. life expectancy falls for 2nd year in a row on: April 13, 2022, 04:58:18 PM
I don't think that bitcoin can have an impact on life expectancy. If we rule out criminal motives. I want to live a long happy life with my family. Maybe in this life there will be no place for bitcoins, but I am sure that you can live happily without it. But I won’t argue that my life will be easier and more interesting with bitcoins, unless of course I don’t have big worries about its rate.
83  Economy / Economics / Re: White House: 'escalating vulnerabilities' to U.S. from semiconductor shortages on: April 12, 2022, 08:35:16 PM
This is a very difficult question, but I think that the shortage of semiconductors, as always, is artificially created. As for the production of semiconductors, it seems to me that it makes no sense to invest huge taxpayers' money in the creation of a plant for the production of semiconductors. It may turn out that we will spend many years on development and creation, but in the end, no one will buy these semiconductors due to market saturation. And of course the question is - will the government want to invest in the long term? I think not.
84  Economy / Economics / Re: How to end dependence on russian gas? Heat pumps, electric heaters, alt fuels? on: April 12, 2022, 08:10:52 PM
With a great plan this could be future.
A good plan, as reliable as a Swiss watch. Too bad it only works in green fantasies. Windmills, solar panels, tides - these sources of energy are too volatile, a good dessert, but not a main course. We need something more stable generating energy so that we can seriously rely on it. Of the environmentally friendly and carbon-neutral, this is the energy of a flowing river or the energy of the internal heat of the earth, and with some reservations, nuclear energy.

It's all just talk. If it were possible to do this, the countries would not be dependent on Russia. There are many sources of energy. But natural gas is the most convenient and cheapest. Mankind will have to live for many years to invent a new convenient way. Now this is impossible. Everything ingenious is simple. I am convinced that humanity will find new energy sources, but not now. I don’t understand why sanctions are needed if many countries suffer from them. It's like we're trying to reinvent the wheel.
85  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk - Hinted that it would be nice if Twitter Ads be paid in Bitcoin on: April 12, 2022, 08:01:47 PM
I watched a Youtube "Live" video last night, where there was a discussion between Elon Musk and 3 other people. It was more focused on things that would make Bitcoin mining more efficient and "cleaner" for the environment.

One of the things that was mentioned there.... was Elon Musk ..asking the question "If it would be a nice thing if Twitter advertisers could pay in Bitcoin. Now, that got me thinking...... imagine if we can convince only one of these large social media platforms to accept Bitcoin as a payment option.

It will cause a ripple affect in the Social media scene and it will be a good push for Bitcoin as a method of payment. I hope now that Elon Musk have some say at Twitter, he will make things happen for Bitcoin BTC too.  Roll Eyes  (He owns more than 9% of Twitter... but he declined to be on the board)

How much will the Bitcoin price spike.... if a decision like this was approved..... and will this boost the global economy?

No wonder he is called the lord of cryptocurrencies! Only from his words the course can rise and fall. This guy knows his stuff and how to get money out of nothing. I don't understand how he does it...I think this is Elon's next step to make money and now after his words we will be able to see the growth of bitcoin again.
86  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold , Silver Or Crypto? on: April 12, 2022, 07:39:52 PM
Many financial advisors suggest gold , silver and cryptocurrencies as the best investment for this decade! what do you think?

You can invest in securities and stocks of companies. With a successful investment, you can not only save your money but also increase it. I remember the wonderful movie "Forrest Gump". That's when a man successfully invested his money Grin I can also suggest keeping your savings in different currencies. There is always a chance that some part of the money will remain.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is safe heaven not against volatility but as store value on: April 11, 2022, 05:03:04 PM
If military attacking ur home ur gold or silver even house will be gone most likely the bank building gone all the local structures gone only thing is left crypto its in the internet it does not have o ne speficic location
So in chaos crypto is only way to keep wealth u might have.
But only thing is ....those btc wallets must have some servers physical locations or they cloud based ??

Today, bitcoin is unstable, it can be lost like fiat. I wouldn't keep all my eggs in one basket. I think that cryptocurrency is necessary, but I would not place big bets on it. Of course, I will leave part of the money in cryptocurrency, but this will be only one, not the largest part of my savings.
88  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoin is enough? on: April 11, 2022, 04:49:46 PM
I remember when people used to say having 21 was good, because then you would have 1 millionth of the supply. Now I see people talking about some 6.15 number, which I have no idea why or how anyone came up with that number.
Other guys tell people having 1 bitcoin will be 'enough' in the future, and how long into the future, I do not know.
I recently saw people saying online that 1 bitcoin is not attainable for most people, and they should aim for 0.1 bitcoin, and that sounded crazy to me. Surely if something is so important, you can find a way of getting 1 bitcoin over a year or two?

Do you guys have a certain amount you are aiming for?
Personally I dont have a cap on the amount I want to get. I just keep getting as much bitcoin as I can, when I can. Stacking sats I think the cool kids call it.
I dont think I will ever stop doing this. If I need to liquidate some in order to live and buy things, i'll do that, but i'll always keep trying to replenish what I spend.

There can't be too much money. There will always be dreams and things to spend money on. Sometimes this is a very real amount of money for me, but sometimes I think I want more. We can ask how much money we need for a happy life and no one knows the exact answer.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic consequences of Russian-Ukraine War on: April 11, 2022, 04:41:44 PM
Indeed, many underestimated the place of Russia in the mechanism of the world economy, and this is very bad. Russia was very well prepared for the war and its consequences, but the West and the United States did not work out the levers of pressure very well. Of course the rejection of Russian oil and gas will hit its economy very hard, but many Western countries will not survive this!
It is hardly worth agreeing with this. Everyone believed in the power of Russia so much that in Russia they themselves believed in their exclusivity, and therefore, in the end, they decided that they could not give a damn about any norms of public order.
How Russia prepared for the war against Ukraine, we can already see by how catastrophic damage in manpower and equipment it suffers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its people. Already, Putin and his entourage have given up on capturing all of Ukraine and have withdrawn their unfinished troops from the center and north of this country. Now they are trying to expand the occupation in the east of Ukraine and keep the land corridor to the previously occupied Crimean peninsula. But Putin is unlikely to succeed in this either. In a few weeks it will be possible to verify this.
The catastrophic consequences for Russia in this war of conquest are still ahead, and they have already begun to understand this.

This is not a war between Russia and Ukraine. This is a military operation and it has certain goals and objectives. And why should the troops enter Kyiv if this is not planned? If European countries supply weapons to Ukraine, this war will not end.

91  Economy / Economics / Re: One Alternative To High Gas Prices, The Electric Scooter on: March 27, 2022, 09:29:00 AM
Best is to use these and manual transport like cycling or walking, a bit of running, jogging etc, I guess with not only we save more money on it, we also boost our health a lot which is a win win situation Smiley plus, maybe in future prices of these will rise significantly as cost of gas and oil might go out of the general middle class family and it might be a good investment as well!

Fresh air and pedals from the bike are of course wonderful! But what if we need to go to visit our parents and at the same time all family members, two dogs and three bags of things should be with you? How can all this be moved on a bicycle? If you have one small child, riding a bicycle to visit is not possible
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine VS Russia. Ideological or Economical conflict? on: March 26, 2022, 03:25:27 AM
This invasion is neither ideological nor economical. This invasion is simply born out of a folly. Arguing that this invasion is either ideological or economical is dignifying it. At the bottom of it, this is nothing but a decision of a deranged man. Putin is becoming a crazy dictator who is living in a world of fantasy. The problem is that he has so much power and he is a mad man. Everybody is afraid to confront him and tell him he is out of his mind. I know for sure that even some of those people in his inner circle do not approve of this stupidity.

The most stupid post I've read about Putin. Who do you think would appoint a madman to the presidency? Do you know the population of Russia? Or maybe you forgot what time you live in? Is this medieval?
Try to shift your eyes to Russian resources and read what is the demilitarization of Ukraine and the denationalization of Ukraine. Try using a translator. Type in the search the genocide of the Russian-speaking population of Donbas for 8 years. Read about the Gorlovskaya Madonna. Do you know what Nazism is? This is exactly what was the reason that the operation began by the Russian authorities. Liberation of Ukraine from Nazism.
Although I understand that all words are useless while there is a mass mailing of fake news. But history always shows that sooner or later people will find out the truth, it takes time.

I am not a politician or a historian, I am a simple working person and I sew clothes. I feel sorry for the people who died in the war. And I really wanted to help the people of Ukraine. But I saw a video of Ukrainians feeding a Russian soldier, who for some reason is dressed in a military uniform of the Ukrainian army, and I understand that not everything can go smoothly with my donation. I may lose my money. Now I don't want to hear what they tell us about this war. I agree with you that it will take some time before we find out the truth.
93  Economy / Economics / Re: The ruble is going to hell on: March 25, 2022, 04:43:28 PM
Of course, do not underestimate the Russian leader. He acts quickly and accurately. He knows that the rejection of Russian gas for some European countries will have serious negative consequences. In this situation, there are two options. Or refuse to supply Russian gas, or pay for it in rubles. If countries decide to abandon Russian gas and terminate the contract for its supply, the price will rise on the stock exchange and this will only aggravate the situation
Another serious thing that might happen is the rising prices of basic necessities in European countries that refuse to buy oil from Russia in ruble, it's impossible to stop the vehicles supplying basic necessities from operating just because they want to go against the policies putin' on. European countries must be confused right now.

I do not want to escalate the situation, but now it is not very clear who is going to hell
94  Economy / Economics / Re: The ruble is going to hell on: March 25, 2022, 04:24:45 PM
This method is used by Putin to retaliate against all the sanctions they get. Europe relies heavily on Russian gas and oil but other news says that this would violate existing contracts due to regular payments using Euros or USD. If Russia insists on accepting rubles only for countries that are not friendly to them then they will also lose the income that they also still need to pay for this war and all the costs in their countries, so in fact this condition gives european countries and Putin in confusing conditions.
https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/russian-demand-rouble-gas-payments-would-be-breach-contract-eu-leaders-say-2022-03-24/

I'm not exactly a Putin fan but I partly understand. It is a retaliatory action against the retaliatory actions that the countries that buy from him have taken.

When there is a breach of contract by the other party, what you can do is to consider the contract as broken, which in practice in this case would mean that they don't have to buy gas from Russia. But if they want to continue to do so, they will have to pay you in rubles.

This has another implication, and that is that Saddam Hussein was killed because he wanted to be paid for his oil in euros instead of dollars. With Putin they will not be able to do much, at least not that easily, and he is not the only threat to the hegemony of the dollar at present, but this would be the subject of another thread.

95  Economy / Economics / Re: Currencies and forex now demand and reason to use it interesting on: March 25, 2022, 04:00:26 PM
Each country, in addition to buying the necessary goods from other countries, has its own gold and foreign exchange reserves. After all, they must ensure the stability of the national currency. If a country's currency is weak, you can sell that currency and appreciate your own currency. There are many options for using foreign currency. A lot still depends on the government, because they decide what to spend money.
96  Economy / Economics / Re: Nowdays how to get wealthy secret on: March 25, 2022, 03:39:25 PM
Now that we know all the secrets, we have only one question. Where can I get silver, gold, oil to sell and get rich? If I know how the mechanism works, this does not mean that I know how to use it. Wealth is a combination of luck, skill and patience. To be rich, you need to be able to invest your money correctly and save it correctly. It is certainly very important to take into account the situation in the country and in the world
97  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanctions left and right, Can the Russian economy survive? on: March 24, 2022, 06:46:13 PM
Just imagine two people - the first has firewood, matches, a garden, wheat, and the second has only wine. If winter comes, which of these two people will survive? I think the one that has warmth and food. Russia has everything to keep people warm and well fed. Why do you think that this country may not withstand sanctions from other states? Or do you think that if McDonald's closes, then the country is doomed to extinction? Even if this country creates a wall for itself from the rest of the world, not a single person will die from it.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation seem like the only option left on: March 24, 2022, 06:35:58 PM
Of course, a huge amount of digital currency can give a huge amount of tax payments for a country. It is normal that the government wants to legislate and try to control the cryptocurrency market. The turnover of the cryptocurrency will be subject to the general rules of taxation, and it is difficult to say what will come of it. I want to help my country with even a small share of my wages. But whether the government will organize it correctly, no one knows.
99  Economy / Economics / Re: The Effect of the Russian-Ukraine War on Cryptocurrency and Vice-Versa on: March 24, 2022, 06:21:28 PM
How can cryptocurrencies affect the war? No way! War can affect the value of a currency. The price of a currency may fluctuate. Anything that goes up can go down. War does not bring anything good. All markets will suffer. All that we now see bad in the world is the consequences of the war. Perhaps in the near future the situation will stabilize and it will be possible to make forecasts for the cryptocurrency rate.
100  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-23]Thailand Bans Use of Cryptocurrencies as a Method of Payment on: March 24, 2022, 05:48:51 PM
I think that the government of this country believes that cryptocurrencies can negatively affect the financial system of the country and I am surprised that Thailand has not yet banned cryptocurrencies. This is their right, of course. Maybe the use of cryptocurrency is a threat to a country like Thailand. Perhaps they are afraid that they will not be able to control, receive taxes, or maybe they do not want to be interested in something new because they do not know what to do with it and how it works.
