The demand on bitcoin currently I'd say from already existing bitcoin users and the new ones joining the community, perhaps even the current attention and care from the Chinese market.. With the improved media coverage IMO the price should remain within a high range and maybe even above $1000 for a while.

The HYPE isn't all fictional, But sometimes it's hard to imagine this is a conspiracy to control the price or the like, considering this one would involve the Chinese government and tons of other parties.

Anyway it's looking pretty good now, was at +$1100 last time I checked preev.

it's not that common for a tx to be stuck for 48 hours I've to say, I have one stuck for ~3 days but that was a website's fault for sending using low fees (and using unconfirmed funds), so it took time.

The blockchain is slow now, but that long is abnormal, what were the fees? and can you share the txid?

How would the economy work without banks, thoughts? Banks aren't ultimate evil or the like IMO, it's just something that covers the needs of the lenders and loaners, With BTC there's no need for a central authority, but the economy would still need banks IMO.

Hard to consider between these two considering how different they are, Regardless. This is a great milestone for BTC and even more amazing when you consider how it was valued in cents few years ago making the rise in gold seems insignificant (the dips in price are not like gold too though, lol)
