81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin are you currently supporting, and Why? on: March 29, 2017, 08:44:11 PM
Thanks for your inputs. Microsoft has definitely given the platform validation and enhanced its reputation.

It sounds pretty reasonable to reach this level with the current rate and based on the facts you mentioned.

Earlier this month, trading ETH was around $9 - $11 and the pump so far looks very stable around $50. Getting as many as anyone could afford at this rate could bring greater returns in both short and long term.

This is so much easier than obtaining some bitcoins a few years ago at this range as well. The technology is not currently matured, but so many options to obtain ETH nowadays with confidence.

I am not trying to promote it here, but just giving my personal opinion based on these facts.

no problem.

i may be in the minority, but part of me believes in ETH more than BTC. ETH's use case far exceeds (in my opinion), that of bitcoin. also, i agree with investing in ETH over bitcoin if your funds are limited. if you're able to buy 1 BTC, or even 0.5 at some point, i'd keep it long term. i believe there are more gains to be made with ETH in the short term vs. BTC.

I agree. A couple of ETH each month wouldn't hurt now. Unless we see a strong pump over the current average rate.

For me Ethereum is just the best altcoin. It totally conquered my heart. When I saw the pump that led to current price, I thought it would not last long, but this is in fact incredibly strong, and I seriously doubt it will ever go under 0,03BTC/ETH.

Another valuable opinion. Thanks!

It makes sense because this is the result we are expecting after all the hard work. It is not the end yet, but yes with ETH it is possible to double the return over BTC.

The market has to extend somehow, keeping BTC forever will not advance the market. While investing in altcoins can extend the market and create new ones.

So stay tuned, it would be very interesting to watch the market extending.

So far the majority contributing to this thread mentioning ETH.

Not moving away from the interesting conversations here. But for curiosity sake how much gains do we think ETH will make in the coming months?

Some facts to back that up would be interesting also not only guessing.

i don't have a crystal ball, but i am into ETH long.

i personally wouldn't buy at the current price, unless it was stable at this level for a longer period of time. i bought in the single digits, so i'm keeping the long route... through ETH's homestead phase, companies are able to build large scale / enterprise versions on their platform. big business is becoming more and more interested in utilizing blockchains to cut costs and establish better processes. ethereum is a platform, have great flexibility for scaling, and are changing from a PoW to PoS, which should overtime make things even better. i also think vitalik + team are very intelligent. so to answer your question, by y/e i wouldn't be surprised if it were trading $100-200.

remember, if companies like microsoft and chase are on board, they must be doing something right...

Thanks for your inputs. Microsoft has definitely given the platform validation and enhanced its reputation.

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bytecoin BCN - TOP or FLOP? on: March 29, 2017, 03:09:31 PM
I think it's just a shitcoin someone just wanted to make a profit out off. They boosted the price by buying a lot of it cheap then boosted it more by buying intermittently. Look at the prices now, it drop as fast as it grew. Most likely the guys who manipulated it has profited from it for sure. I was able to position and made a handsome profit. Too bad wasn't able to sell off at the peak.

I think this is the case. But still the coin is above the usual rate that we know and the cap is still above the $30m.

If this continues, I wouldn't be surprised for it to improve further since it has easily reached a market cap above $75m at its peak yesterday and went up to top 10 coins.

Just some thoughts about this. If it was possible for a number of traders to take it this far, I believe that people can actually benefit from it by boosting its trade level and this wouldn't leave the coin in the grey/dead area. So perhaps people should consider it and take action?

I like and support good old LTC. Fair, no scams, so enough said?

supporting a coin that has seen no new tech or growth? I personally back coins that want to do something and are continuously developing new software

That's a good point!

I agree that showing stability in price over the years is a good thing for LTC. But where is it heading to? Any progress towards improving its ecosystem to enhance the coin?

I can't see the point of putting $1000 today for instance and have it next year $800 - $1100.

I told yesterday - "nothing will happen".
I was right ;-)

yes and perhaps not next month
It said May. but who can ensure it will not happen like this time, maybe there will nothing at that time, so DEV did not give us a accurate day but tell us May.
don't worry. the price looks good, a couple of days ago just 10sat , and now 18sat , what do you want?

First of, 8sat in a couple of days is nothing and xdn dev isn't the reason for that to happen, just the big holders trying to pump dead coins to make a massive profit and then dead again.

I think he means the dev is not really giving any information and not working with transparency: no plans no news no vision.

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Millionaires in the making right now with the altcoin pumps on: March 29, 2017, 12:16:59 AM
Expect that there are more to come, these whales are keep on pumping with any alt coin that they want to. And just take the advantage of it, once they pumped crazily just go with the flow and sell the alts you've got together with that pump and just stay tune again. For sure they are going to make another alt pump again.

I believe in this theory because Bytecoin hasn't come up with anything recently to explain the huge interest.

That said, the pump has probably reached its peak $0.000445 and then all the way down between $0.000120 - $0.000220. It will get back to normal in a few hours I would say.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bytecoin lol wtf at this pump on: March 28, 2017, 09:44:01 PM
Seriously who would pump up BCN like this? Is this some kind of BTC fork fear where everyone is pumping things like Bitcoin Dark, Bitcoin Plus, and Bytecoin because the name is similar enough?

LOL. It also surprises me to see those irrelevant or dead alt-coins being pump right now. Someone is behind this for sure and I we really don't know why. Maybe this is the next alt-coin to be pump and dump in order to make a quick but huge amount of profit for some. Dump will be coming soon but for those who will miss it, losses will come hard. So you better watch the next dump so that you will not left behind.

Yes everyone needs to be aware of that fact.

It smells fishy! ;p but interesting to watch indeed.

Those people behind it surely are playing around with those dead coins. And for those people that got BCN just sell it immediately after a couple of days or maybe just for a day it can be dumped again. They are trying to convert their bitcoins to other alt coins in order to avoid some reduction on their possible profit.

That makes sense. It is already dropping in value and that explains it all. I would be surprised if they could hold on this for more than a day. People by then will be hesitant whether or not to sell for profit or more profit, or when it gets dumped to keep as much as they could from the value they bought it for.

Can someone please tell how Changelly works?

1 monero = 76,615 bytecoins
but
76,615 bytecoins = 0.8544 monero

-15% ??
+ monero fees
+ other fees?
So the transactions end up to -30%?

I though electronic coins was about "no banks", and no high fees.

Changelly is a scam. They offered me to purchase bitcions via visa with 30% fee.

Use poloniex to exchange bytecoin

The service provider for accepting credit cards on Changelly is not reliable. They sell over the market rate by at least 30%.

However, Changelly is reliable for exchanging coins, without involving any credit card into the transaction.

Regarding the case with exchanging rate. First we need to understand how the system works. Exchanging Euro to Dollars and vice versa, you could end up with this kind of differences.

I would suggest you to exchange and hold for the exchange to improve at your favor in future. And then you could benefit from that since you will cover the fees with the profit you gain.

Please be aware that the transaction is estimate until you get a full confirmation for the transaction. You may get more or less, depending on the difference between the coins at the moment of transaction.

Hope that helps!

Did anyone find anything what is behind this pump? Please share.

Bot polo dude

This hasn't been caused by any Bot.
Bot moves cyclically always same amount of money. This time a pretty huge quantity of money have been placed in Bytecoin for some reason. Even the GitHub project continues to silently receive updates despite a long lack of any news.

I'm wondering what is going on.

Thanks for your input.

Agree with what you said. But still we need to know what is exactly going on. The market cap reached over $72m today, which means all this liquidity has been on hold and started to get into the game.

Sadly there is no much information about this.

Should we expect the coin to stay at this range for a while or we can see it again under the $10m cap?

I'm expecting the coin to drop again - but I never expected to rise in the first place, so probably not worth listening to me - I guess only the person or group behind the pump will know for sure LOL

It has been interesting watching it all day. It went all high over $72m cap but somehow it was $30m cap and then back to $52m.

I guess the issue remains with its blockchain for handling all these transactions, which is causing so much drop in the cap. But other than that, holding on this for a day is not easy, as it is generating more interest from buyers.

I think they can hold on this for a few more days, if not we will get it back to normal in my opinion.

Transparency is required.

"Due to the high interest in $XDN ICCO, XDN developers decided to prorogue XDN ICCO for several weeks to have everything done perfectly."

High interest from whom? And what is meant by everything to be done perfectly?

They need to learn from other devs how to keep the audience informed.

It is not very clear regarding what is going on right now.

The question is how long this will last to prove stability at the current exchange rates? People are going insane trying to catch some of these profits, and it is easy for those selling at high prices will leave the coin and who bought them will suffer.

Time will reveal.

Yes I agree there should be a reason why this pumps,if there are no great news about a particular that's pumping we can easily tell that whales are behind it and you should be very carefully not to be left behind, when they dump it.

Bytecoin in particular has achieved 500% increase today, but nothing new with its platform and that leads to the conclusion it is just the big holders of these coins decided to get as much liquidity from it and leave it behind. Unless of course, there is something proven with its platform to be doing something that users are adopting. It just makes no sense for this pump.

At its difficulty rate, anyone could easily mine 1000 - 2000 bytecoins a day, keeping these rates on high will make anybody make some cash money on daily basis if it keeps increasing.

So logically, it is not as good as it seems to be.

yeah my bytecoin !!!!!!!!!!
in one month > 1 Dollar / bytecoin  Grin lol

It is pretty easy to mine 1000-2000 bytecoins in 24hrs. I don't see the coin to reach closer to $0.01. not possible!
