81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: eXperience Points [XP] ENGLISH on: July 18, 2019, 04:59:26 AM
Actually, I'm an Experiencecoin supporter now. You can check it out at experiencecoin.org.

I knew the swap would fail long ago. The core devs cannot afford it, unless someone is willing to donate 1 bitcoin for coinexchange.io swap, and 0.2 bitcoin for tradesatoshi.

I do not like the swap for several reasons.

1. There is no guarantee the price will go up.

2. Some people do not support the swap, so experiencepoints coins will also lose supporters.

3. I like the high coin count, if I wanted a lower coin circulating supply, I would invest in a different coin.

4. The primary motivation behind the swap is greed, poeple simply want the price to go up.

5. A swapped coin is essentially a new coin altogether, except there is less support, less coins and less opportunity.

There are more...

Thanks for the response. I really like sprouts coin, I hope I can stake some.

I don't see what is so funny. These "core devs" are destroying this coin by making a mockery out of it. When I saw the website and that goofy dude in a green leotard, I knew this coin was crap.

Since that time, they have had a "moon"/greed mentality, and everything since then has been complete garbage.

Only someone pure of heart not focused on profit and greed can make a truly revolutionary contribution.

Do you think Satoshi Nakamoto created bitcoin to get dollars? No, he made bitcoin to replace them.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Are core wallets programmed to freeze??? on: July 15, 2019, 04:40:21 AM
Dear crypto community. I am a crypto-currency investor, I specialize in obscure altcoins which often require running a full node and downloading an entire blockchain.

What I am about to explain does not apply to every wallet, it is only something I have observed in certain wallets.

As we all know, bitcoin is an open source project, with the entire source code available at github. The altcoins are simply modified copies or forks of the bitcoin code. Many altcoins are forks of other altcoins, etc.

Certain wallets appear to simply stop functioning after a certain time, and will not function until the program is closed and started again.

I have been thinking about why this could be happening, and either the wallet malfunctions, or more likely it has been intentionally added. The only question was why?

So recently I have been attempting to mint a proof of stake coin called sprouts. Currently sprouts coin is traded on coinexchange.io and was cheap enough that I could afford a reasonable portion of the circulating supply, and could possibly be successful in minting.

However, it appears that this wallet simply stops functioning after an hour or so of running. It appears to be running, but will not download the blocks, just like some other coins. This has made it very difficult to download the blockchain, since I cannot just leave it running.

So I have been trying to figure out what sort of benefit this could provide, and today I think I have realized the answer. The wallet stops functioning in order to prevent anyone except the top wallet from staking any blocks, because the wallet becomes frozen before successfully minting. This also happens with some traditional proof of work coins, probably to make it more difficult to mine them.

The problem could be a problem on my end, perhaps my computer or internet are to blame.

What do you think? Has anyone else come across the frozen wallet issue? Thank you for your time.

Alright, so it appears that the dev has at least listened to the community, and has reconsidered having a swap.

We need to get listed on more exchanges, this will also help in getting more people involved and aware of sprouts. Then we will see an increase in price, as well as more volatility.

The exchanges could be really low volume like tradesatoshi, however, it is easier to target new exchanges that are willing to list coins.

Cryptocurrency exchanges give them value, it allows them to be useful in transferring value instantly anywhere the internet exists. It is important to have more than one exchange, in case one goes down for maintenance or ddos.

Check the Discord. It appears this so-called core Dev is initiating the swap, check the Discord currently he claims it is at 99.9%.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: eXperience Points [XP] ENGLISH on: July 11, 2019, 04:57:08 PM
Since this is an open source community driven project not owned by any specific corporation, the community appears to be in favor of keeping the XP coin without a swap. It is better, there are not too many.

Consider dogecoin with 120 billion to experiencepoints coins 281 billion. if a large enough user base can be established, without a swap. We will see a higher price.

The community has spoken.

Also, the price fluctuates. Check out a coin that swapped called penguincoin. The price was something like 0.08 dogecoin, then they swapped it roughly 2.3:1. Now the new coin, although there are less coins, is cheaper than the old one, because less people support the new coin. In short, swaps simply destroy a coin worse than anything else.

batcoin need new dev, setup main page!blockchain explorer!...

maybe swap is good idea!

Hey, the price is lower now because everyone is tired of batcoin. So the solution is to buy it all up and get new people involved, then you will see higher prices.

I am very happy that the price has fallen, I have been able to buy more batcoin than I ever thought possible. Keep in mind that 1 billion batcoin is 1% of the entire circulating supply. That means only 100 people can have 1%!!!
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Name ALTCOINS that will take off until 2022 on: July 05, 2019, 10:25:34 PM
Digibyte was one of my first investments! Currently I have found a coin unbelievably undervalued. It is not even listed on coinmarketcap. It is called Batcoin, notice the 'a' instead of an 'i'. Currently there are approximately 101 billion batcoin, that's about 20 billion LESS than the beloved dogecoin.

At the current price of about 0.00003 doge, the cost to buy ALL 101 billion batcoin would cost a total of approximately 3 million dogecoin! That means if I got together 1,000 people with $11 usd each, we could buy ALL the batcoins at that price!!! The real value is in the current price. Don't want to buy millions of coins for pennies? OK, I'll buy them all, don't worry about it.   Grin

Batcoin is currently available here: https://exchange.thecoin.pw/ It can be bought with dogecoin or bitcoin.

Thank you, that seems to be working better. I deleted the old peers.dat and replaced the old nodes with the ones on the page within the sprouts.conf file.

The only solution to this problem, would be for the top wallets, or at least some nodes with the full blockchain, to allow others to connect to it and sync the blockchain. This will take the load off the one or two that are currently available and will allow others to finish syncing.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sprouts🌱(SPRTS) - Revival Cryptocurrency with Hardfork [PoW/PoS] on: July 03, 2019, 12:09:41 AM
Is anyone able to upload a blockchain snapshot to mediafire or something?

Currently I am unable to finish syncing my wallet. It will download a few blocks and just stop, currently it is at block 929325 of 1110915. If I let my wallet sit, it does nothing for the most part, while only downloading blocks sometimes.

I think the problem is that too many people are trying to synchronize their wallets at the same time. I am not able to check the message returned by the server, but I am guessing it is code 503.

503 Service Unavailable

The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload...

This has been a problem with another popular staking coin before. Basically, everyone is trying to stake all at once, but only some nodes have the whole chain, like the top wallet, so they keep getting the stakes, because nobody is able to catch up with syncing. This is probably why fsh457 is unable to stake.

Hello, Yobit is not technically a scam exchange. Their problem is that they host too many coins to deal with. They currently host over 400 coins! That is an insane amount of technical details including hard forks, updates, splits, swaps etc. And on top of all that insane work load, we have been having a bear market for much more than one year!

If anyone requires to withdraw or deposit joulecoin on yobit, make a polite support ticket requesting it. They will turn on the wallet and bring it out of maintenance. If the wallet requires updating, use the developer request form. Be polite and patient. If a coin is not currently being traded, the wallet will be put back into maintenance to save resources.

I suggest doing small test withdrawals and deposits, just to make sure it is working.

Greetings comrads. No swap please. Thank you. The dawn of a new age in cryptocurrency is at hand. Play your parts, XP is now on many exchanges, a swap will destroy what has been built. Thank you.

I contacted prohashing.com about relisting batcoin via email, and here is what they said:

Mr. Sokolowski commented:

Hi Nunya Byznat,

Thanks for the information.  I did not know of this exchange before.  I looked at the API of exchange.thecoin.pw, and they do support all the features we would need in an exchange.  However, their trade volume and number of coins offered is very small right now, so I am not yet willing to add the exchange.  I will keep checking on the exchange, and if it continues to grow, then I will work on implementing it.

Thanks again for the suggestion.

Sincerely,

-Mr. Sokolowski

need new dev take over this coin

Well, that is a strange perseective in my opinion. What could a new dev do? The wallet is good. We need regular people (tthe community) to work together. Remember when you all were trading on this thread?

It would be helpful if someone could set up a simple block explorer.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sprouts🌱(SPRTS) - Revival Cryptocurrency with Hardfork [PoW/PoS] on: June 01, 2019, 05:07:38 AM
It is probably that your balance is too low to stake. However, I am not sure there is a way to tell. The staking is now a fixed amount instead of a percentage like it used to be. This means it does not become more likely to stake as time progresses. Instead, the chance of getting a reward is fixed, based on your coin amount. For example, if you recieved about 1 stake per day, you can expect roughly the same amount until your coin balance changes in relation to the total supply.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sprouts🌱(SPRTS) - Revival Cryptocurrency with Hardfork [PoW/PoS] on: May 31, 2019, 01:23:15 PM
Most likely your balance is too small. The staking difficulty is actually pretty high. I have not finished syncing my wallet, so I have not actually tried to stake yet.

Keep in mind that 1,000,000 sprouts is about 12 dogecoin at the current price on coinexchange.io.

Did you downnoad the latest wallet? There was a reward reduction to stop this coin from imploding by hyperinflation. Download it at the main website, https://www.sprouts-coin.org/en/ or compile it from the github repository https://github.com/SproutsCommunityRep/sprouts
