801  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to access a bitcoin address through a private key? on: January 27, 2020, 11:26:36 PM
1. Download Electrum from the official website.
2. Create a standard wallet.
3. Sweep the funds by going to Wallet - private keys - sweep and then paste the private key.

Or, if you prefer using a mobile wallet, you can download Mycelium and follow the instructions given on this video.
Just to add a little if your wallet is in Bech32 SegWit address format if you import it for example on mobile choose the option for segwit if not you will get a legacy address and you might be confused why you are getting a different address. I am using Electrum wallet for mobile you find it on electrum official website.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO legalities in 2020? on: January 27, 2020, 10:53:58 PM
The US is very cautious about these ICO's they didn't want US citizen to be a victim of a possible scam, US is very strict in everything that is why most ICO is not including US citizen. I think currently most projects don't comply they just exclude the US from the sale. Projects implementing KYC to determined US citizens I guess if you are from other countries like asia and you have ID from asia you can participate even if you are in us now but I am not really sure.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about backed (and not) Stablecoins - GOLD token 100% backed by gold. on: January 27, 2020, 04:19:24 PM
I have read thread here on bitcointalk before some stablecoins have the ability to froze your funds it is quite alarming right? Only DAI doesn't have those rights and the rest of these stablecoins can freeze any accounts, so if you are holding big amounts we need to be careful with these stablecoins.
Don't get offended but in previous years I encountered two or more projects claiming to be backed by gold and end up being scam. I hope digital gold is not one of them. Did anyone know a coin that is backed by gold that is already on the market right now?
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On most altcoins disappearing on: January 27, 2020, 02:59:55 PM
If the majority of the altcoins vanished, of course, the remaining coins will benefits maybe a huge volume will be transferred on these coins. But this scenario I guess will never happen new altcoins is created almost every week or every month I see a new Announcement thread or bounty thread about a certain coin/token. Bitcoin alone is like an island, altcoins add colors to the blockchain technology it gives additional features that bitcoin does not have like smart contracts, etc. but we can't deny the fact that the majority of altcoins is sh8tcoins I can't think of a solution to stop them, just avoid it.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Chain or Binance DEX hype is gone! on: January 27, 2020, 01:03:19 PM
I have noticed it also, In fact, I knew a project listed there it almost has no volume at all. It does not mean that if a project is listed on DEX it is good. As far as I know, if a project has no volume it will be delisted. I still prefer Binance CEX if you want a good volume. Binance offers new services now, Like Margins and Futures traders like it more than DEX it looks stagnant right now but not on all coins.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2020-01-25]Japan to begin its own national cryptocurrency on: January 27, 2020, 11:27:49 AM
It is a great news for cryptocurrency, If this will happen soon maybe crypto adoption in the whole country will be happening soon, Last time I knew china is already starting to tokenize their own currency maybe they will launch anytime soon. With this great news, I hope crypto adoption will spread in the whole world. I'm excited who will launch first is it facebook libra, china, japan? I made a thread about china digital currency before if you want to read here's the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5188288.0
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 100 coin's Desktop+Android+iOS wallets . Newbies be aware about fake wallet. on: January 27, 2020, 10:42:04 AM
Its nice of you gathering these coins and their respective wallets to avoid fake or possibly phishing. As a newbie, we need to be careful. I have my own way to avoid these fake wallets. I go to coinmarketcap click the coin I want to find the wallet and then click website and from there you can find the wallet from their official website. If the coin is not listed on CMC I go to their social media and look for their official website but be aware there are some fake social media accounts.
808  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Become an Owner of 1 BTC - Only the brave and courageous wins! on: January 26, 2020, 07:11:49 PM
I think the safest option in what you say is selling your knowledge and talents like in signature campaigns and other stuff like graphics designs and programming but these are not permanent unless you are accepted on long term signature. If you have a daily job maybe a savings will do just avoid luxurious things to be able to save and not ending up selling BTC to cover the cost of living. The riskiest is selling a property just to own bitcoin, I just read a piece of news from previous years some people are selling their house/properties for bitcoins which is not advisable maybe if you have two houses or more.

810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: They announced 1000000 Tokens Giveaway. Should I follow this? on: January 26, 2020, 05:40:15 PM
Yes, there is no harm if you got it for free, but what if OP is planning to buy it on exchanges in the future we should try at your own risk.
It seems like the Twitter post is just promoting referral links the account only got 28 followers but as you say who knows what will be the future of this coin and I don't see the purpose of this coin/token maybe a utility token. I found some info here: http://www.fuzzy.one/flex/

OP did not mention that he want to buy the token. He is asking opinion for working for the giveaway only.
And if someday this token comes to exchanges, there is no harm in buying it if you see the project is good and price is low. It would be really good for everyone who work in this giveaway that the flex token hits the exchange one day.
Of course, he did not mention that what I was saying is "what if". if you forget to read it. We can't say that there is no harm in buying it, there are so many newbies like me reading it, What if it turns out a failure? Unless it is already successful. I'm not against these projects I am just being careful way back a few years ago I have been scammed with many projects so I am very cautious right now.
811  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google ads misleading people. on: January 25, 2020, 07:42:58 PM
That's true last year I found out that google ads are showing Trezor fake ads if you search it on google, I don't know why google allow that without reviewing it. Looks like they are only concerns about money. So we need to be careful to check the url always, google is not safe anymore, they might be the one spreading phishing links by allowing scammers. I added ublock origin extension to block those fake ads.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: They announced 1000000 Tokens Giveaway. Should I follow this? on: January 25, 2020, 06:06:01 PM
Is the flex available on any exchanges ? Where is the ANN thread for flex ?

You should think carefully, once a project giveaway so much looks like they dont value their own coin/token and the dump is very expected after they will got listed because there is so many users owning this token I can say this token is not good to hold.

If you have time, there is no harm in trying this out. Who knows what will be the future of this coin.

813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...Is Bitcoin the ultimate coin that does not need more development? on: January 25, 2020, 05:02:14 PM
Bitcoin is still evolving in previous years they implemented SegWit on the Bitcoin Blockchain making the platform faster and more scalable. I guess they will continue in making bitcoin faster as years passed. Bitcoin lightning network already exists but it is not used frequently on wallets, exchanges and online shops I don't know.

Can we still expect better coin than Bitcoin?
There is no better coin than bitcoin it is the one true king. Those bitcoin forks claiming to be better than bitcoin are sh*tcoins and copy cats.
814  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantages of having an account on bitcointalk on: January 25, 2020, 04:02:18 PM
Having a bitcointalk account really helps and benefits us, Why? bitcointalk is an all in one site for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. You can learn about trading, Bitcoin development, New projects, etc. Often new projects started an Announcement thread here in bitcointalk everything starts here. Bitcointalk becomes the best review site for new projects and those existing we have a lot of experts and crypto enthusiasts here. without bitcointalk I am still clueless about cryptocurrency and the history of bitcoin.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Okay. What is the main factor that boosts Altcoin value? Popularity or Tech? on: January 24, 2020, 04:27:38 PM
For me, Just balance 50% on Popularity and 50% on Technology, Why? Because I see so many projects that have potential ending up a failure because their marketing is not good, the team is not showing on social media and blockchain conferences. Investors want to see an active project to minimize the risk of being scammed. But at the end of the day, the uniqueness and the technology of the project are very important and could lead the project to success with the support of the community.

819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating shit TOKEN make good profit ? on: January 22, 2020, 08:04:48 PM
Are you out of your mind? Creating shitcoin, really? Are you that desperate to earn money. If you do that you are no different from a scammer. We don't need a mindset like that it will ruin the image of cryptocurrency. Please don't create any shitcoin on the market but I guess no one will invest either investor are smart now doing the research before investing we have learned our lesson last 2017 - 2018.
820  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 22, 2020, 06:54:50 PM
Way back last 2017 I was searching about faucets I found bitcointalk thru search engines, I was finding info about XRB faucets (now nano) I bump into bitcointalk I was just reading I didn't register yet. And then airdrop and bounties came famous I was interested and registered and that's how I started with bitcointalk. Later on, my knowledge about bitcoin grows as I read in this forum and communicate with other members it really helps me to be knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and blockchains. And I am very amazed and proud that the creator of bitcoin is the founder of this forum I am glad to be a member here.
