802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt. Gox - To resume withdrawals Feb 20th - New ATH approaching on: February 17, 2014, 04:34:18 PM
Erm, biofore could you make clear what that was about. Otherwise it just looks like you being extremely rude.
803  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT, Bitcoin is on the verge of collapse !!! on: February 17, 2014, 12:11:44 PM
That's the price rather than the coin collapsing, just to be clear. It matters if you are an investor rather than a user.
804  Economy / Speculation / Re: URGENT, Bitcoin is on the verge of collapse !!! on: February 16, 2014, 10:37:35 PM
What are you defining as a collapse.
805  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will we reach a new all time high on: February 16, 2014, 01:45:18 AM
The people on the other thread talking about transferring fiat into gox sound like they have personally reached an all time high, at least.
806  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transferring 25k into Gox to buy at current prices on: February 16, 2014, 01:43:24 AM
Transferring fiat into gox is not incomprehensibly idiotic. It is idiotically incomprehensible.
807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we really surprised that Russia it trying to ban bitcoins? on: February 15, 2014, 06:14:23 PM
Aren't I right in saying that they have not tried to ban it? My understand that some official just said it wasn't a legal currency which it isn't (see the phrase legal tender). Its not exactly the same thing.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / mining primecoins on: February 15, 2014, 06:10:53 PM
Hi

Am I right in thinking that the Primecoin wallet will automatically start mining if you type certain things into the debug window.

Also if you are not synced with the network what is the best way to see how many primecoins you currently have?

Thanks for helping me.
809  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, MtGox is opening a Bitcoin Café on: February 15, 2014, 05:20:05 PM
They will just be contracting the work. Its fine by me tbh. It's not like that fat bloke will me hammering in the nails or anything.

815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Having problems syncing on: February 13, 2014, 09:59:16 PM
One final thing. When you close the wallet does it save your progress Re: syncing?
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Having problems syncing on: February 13, 2014, 09:56:32 PM
Thanks. Its receiving that I'm looking for. I'm looking to see if I've received some coin. I take it I don't need to be synced for that.

Also, isn't this massive syncing time considered a problem. I'm sure it is so excuse my ignorance.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Having problems syncing on: February 13, 2014, 09:23:34 PM
Hi all

My wallet, bitcoin q-t is taking an age to sync with the network. It will take days at this rate. I need to know if a transaction has happened. Do I need to wait until the network has synced in order to find out that information?

Thanks for helping me.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: [FUD] bye bitcoin, this is the end on: February 12, 2014, 10:48:31 PM
"I once dismissed posters such as angrynerd to be a troll, but then others such as bitcoinsteve showed us this week that we should not outright dismiss their soothsaying powers. I'm worried this FUD may be true for 2014, and in short time, we may come to find that our precious coins are woth no more than the buffalo shit on a nickel. I hope it's not true, but this week has been really bad."

When I bought my coins they were £2-4 so meh.

Bitcoin is so young friend. I say calm your nerves because there will be more extremely good and extremely bad weeks.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: [FUD] bye bitcoin, this is the end on: February 12, 2014, 06:07:51 PM
The thing is I felt sorry for him when he said he lost savings. I realize that this was a mistake. He is clearly a bad person.
820  Economy / Speculation / Re: [FUD] bye bitcoin, this is the end on: February 12, 2014, 05:51:20 PM
Angrynerd posted this to a suicidal person

"if you kill yourself, tell that to the media, so they will talk about bitcoin in a negative way, price will go down and i will be able to buy something. Thanks. I will pray for you after your departure in the case. Bye bye or...adieu"

This leads me to believe he is full of shit and just wants to spread FUD so the price goes down.
