It's interesting to see bigger variety of sports sometimes, not just 80% about football as usual. Personally I wouldn't like if most of questions would be about single game, something similar like we had in Newcastle promo.
And yeah, what a shame that we don't have Division 1 players in cup remaining.

That will never be the case. BSFL already has a recognizable format and we will try minor changes occasionally.
We might have 2 questions per game in really huge games (CL final, Euro/World Cup final), but that will really be rare.

Newcastle promo was only about Newcastle's CL adventure - so there wasn't much room to make it more diverse.

...
Real's got to win the cup. Barca are awful.
...

Yeah, but they have Atletico first whereas Barca has Osasuna. I'm breaking my head on this one as well.
Barca is 85% in the final, whereas Real is 60% in the final. Which way do you wanna go?

Then again, Atletico in the final has a decent chance against Barcelona. This is really a cointoss, although I'll probably go with Real - simply because Barca is bad and will lose the final against any club from Madrid.

Who's the favorite to win? I assume Morocco?
I like the Ivory Coast team, I feel that Egypt is too dependent on Salah.

Senegal looks good on paper again, but something about that team never clicks for me. Algeria? They look kinda boring but tough to beat.

If they had a single decent CB, Nigeria would be my favorite. Their offensive line is really good.

I looked at the questions and I don't see anything new about them. Maybe I'm just not that big sport fan to notice anything different. I answered most of them, but will wait to submit until tomorrow because there are some games today that could influence my answers. All in all, interesting questions.

Btw, how come there are no mora e-sport questions? Are there no competitions?

Most questions are about more than a single game - which kinda makes them more luck-based.
Usually we have 1-2 such questions, but now almost all span across multiple days.

Trofo's our esports expert, please let me secure D1 status before we bring them back Grin

I was mostly surprised by Havertz - he was never a finisher, but some of his decisions were shocking yesterday.
I still feel he's got fantastic potential, but he's stagnated since his Leverkusen days - maybe even gotten a bit worse in the process.

It didn't help Arsenal that Saka had a bad game as well. In a game like this you usually score 2 goals at least.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 08, 2024, 08:04:44 AM
Hello @cryptofrka and trofo,  will it not be fair to others if I keep a reminder to those late division 2 players? Since is just 5 games reminding,  don't want them to miss out...

We will never try to stop the community for helping each other, so feel free to do it.
There are 5 players that are in danger, and 1 of them already submitted.

The list will always be updated in the following post.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: January 07, 2024, 07:54:00 PM
This was so lucky from Liverpool Grin

We did improve quite a bit in the 2nd half, but I really feel the game should have been over by halftime.
Arsenal didn't let us breathe at all and were great in their pressing, we were slow and sloppy. Luckily, we did get a cheap goal in and after that, there was more space to play.

I hope for an easier 4th round in tomorrow's draw, considering that we're not in CL I would like us to try hard for both cups. We have a great chance already in the League Cup.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: January 07, 2024, 07:43:20 PM
Woah that would be a pretty dick move. I've never think of this lol but this is Sportsbet we are talking about so Steve probably got most of our usernames on Sportsbet so that would be pretty easy to check. In case some dick try to use a new account or whatsoever, betting max bet on BSFL then win it somehow would be pretty suspicious

Hasn't happened so far, we assume it won't happen at all.
Naturally, if SB received 50 max bets from new accounts on player X, they'd probably just void the bets.

This is all just for fun, max bets will be small, usually 30-50% of us place the bets. SB does it just so we can have some extra fun so let's not ruin that by thinking we can outsmart them, eh? Grin

The Cup QF pairs have been decided before penalties, with home teams dominating.

Round 4 results

Hhampuz - mitchr4   3-2
Renato297 - Kokee44   3-1
Ulven - Slissy   2-1
chi20 - BitcoinHunt3r   2-1

Trofo lost a sidebet to Harkorede, and will face penalties in his sidebet vs slackovic.

The Cup semifinal pairs are:

Hhampuz - Renato297
Ulven - chi20

Embarrassment for Div1 - no representatives in the cup semis.
As usual, we'll try to arrange betting on Sportsbet on the semifinal pairs.

We proceed with the league, questions for Round 11 are ready.

The deadline is January 9th, 18:00 GMT.

As already mentioned, there are a lot of sports events happening and most of the questions span across multiple days. We thought this is a fun experiment for this round, but don't see it happening a lot in the future.
We like when the majority of the questions revolve around a single game - because the factor of luck is higher in the current set of questions.

Let us know what you think about it - maybe we find the middle ground somewhere if the majority likes it more this way.

Three Division 2 and 2 Division 3 players are 1 late submission away from elimination. Be careful guys Smiley

They got a lot of money, but would not pay that much. Did not for Ronaldo or Neymar

Salah is a bigger star there, he's Muslim and they can market much better around him.
He's also a true professional still in his prime. Ronaldo is a professional but not on elite level anymore and Neymar stopped trying to do his best 10 years ago.

Salah is exactly what that league needs, a statement transfer. That's why I feel that they'd pay 200 million without blinking.
I hope we ask for crazy money, for them it's all the same anyway.

Guys, you have to give me some credit for the Bischofshofen margins Grin
There are no odds for such stuff anywhere so it's all out of our heads, and most often than not we nail them to be just right.

Questions for the next league round are almost ready, they are a bit different this time as an experiment. We'll see how you like them.
We'll probably post them tomorrow, still some finetuning to do.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 06, 2024, 03:26:32 PM
Is that something that is expected? I think he would make a mistake if he leaves Liverpool and would finish in a bout same way as Mane. Liverpool plays their own game and it will be big adjustment in any other system.

Yep, I think he wanted to go this year as well.
Liverpool will want to sell, we're not City so we have to balance the books. He's the best player on our team, but having him for 1 more season or having 100+ mil in the bank to replace him will be a no-brainer.
At least I hope it will - we need that money.

I hope we push the Saudi teams hard - Salah is their talisman and I'd literally ask for 500 million to let him go. They'd probably pay half of that without any issues.

Porro's goal is nice, the one that haunts me is still Kompany's one. One of the nicest goals from a defender I've ever seen.
Would have easily been Carragher's in his last game vs QPR, but he hit the post. The reaction is everything though Grin

Comparing the Scottish and South African leagues to some random Asian leagues is a heinous crime. With a gun to my head, I can name more than ten Scottish and South African clubs, along with their star players and upcoming fixtures. The same cannot be said for the most popular Asian league (China).

You do understand I wasn't comparing that, right? For a sheriff, you should pay more attention.

You said Asian Cup isn't interesting enough to be there, I said that they have Scottish league and South Africa one.
I am sure that the Asian Cup will have a bigger audience than Scottish Prem - I was not speaking about the local leagues of Vietnam and Singapore, but the biggest Asian football tournament.

Only South Korea and Japan can compete with Cape Verde, and for the record, Cape Verde is one of Africa's worst football nations.

Whenever an Asian team other than Japan and South Korea plays an African team I assume you'll give me odds of over 2 on Asian team to win, correct?
For example, Australia - Mozambique. Or Iran - Tanzania. Saudi Arabia - Angola?

Really can't wait to bet on these things against you.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 06, 2024, 12:05:01 AM
P.S. I like Jota leading the attack btw, not Nunez, whom I see as a foil. People used to say Firmino's return was shit but you really had to see him play to understand value is beyond goals + assists. Same role as Bobby, different styles. Jota's got more brains haha

Bobby was amazing for us, a type of player you rarely see nowadays. If you offer that much, nobody will cherrypick your contribution, whereas Nunez has to score considering that's basically all that he's trying to do.
I like Jota as well, he's got incredible awareness for the game. Gakpo can be good for us too, but this season hasn't really gone his way.

Anyway - we're actually in a decent spot to say goodbye to Salah in the summer - especially because his departure will leave us with a shitload of money.

ralle14 - Ulven   2-3
Slissy - jayce   3-0
chi20 - buwaytress   3-1

Round 4 pairs are:

Since Croatia won the game 14-12 after penalties, shouldn't the correct answer be "Yes"? I mean, there is no mention about not counting penalties. If I'm not mistaken, in football there is always a note in the question about counting only regular time. Here it wasn't mentioned so I guess the final score is counted, right?

I don't wanna sound like a sore looser, but there are other players whose cup win depends on this question. That's why I want this sorted out

They did not really win the game. For a win you get 3 points, they received 2 points and Spain received 1 point - so both teams were initially rewarded for a draw and then Croatia won an extra point for being better on penalties.
To be fair, we could have worded it better - and of course it always bites us in the ass when we don't make it 100% clear.

We will count it as a draw, bookies would do the same and also we have this from before the start of the game:

Nah, they aren't that big of a favorite. As Trofo said, initially it was 50-50, currently it's 1.75 on Spain on Supersport.
Considering that we're playing at home, I still feel that it's 50-50. You lose with a draw though, which happens in waterpolo more and more and which might be something both teams would be happy with if the game is tied near the end.

What the hell hahah, this is really insane.
When you reach the wheel of fortune, it seems like a 5% chance (1/20) to hit the jackpot?

These are fantastic odds for life-changing money. I have to start tracking this Grin
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 04, 2024, 10:04:40 PM
Man Superbru is a business, and they are not going to put a bunch of low-interest tournaments on their website. Nobody who cares about football is watching the match between Iran and Palestine. It will be nothing more than supporters using it as a platform to play politics as usual.

CAF increased the AFCON prize by 40% to $7m

Yup, that's why they have A-League, Scottish Premiership, South Africa league and women's Prem. Cause everybody wants to watch Dundee - Motherwell and Swallows - Golden Arrows.

I understand it's not that significant, but top Asian teams can easily go head to head with the top african ones. We don't need to play it, they don't need to have it, but you make it sound like it's way worse than it is.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 04, 2024, 06:17:47 PM
Well, surely, if Asian Cup isn't even on Superbru it complicates things too much.
It was just an idea, considering that the last few Asian Cups were more interesting (football-wise) than AFCON.

I hope AFCON turns out good this year, there are too many good players there for it to be so boring.

Trofo, count me in of course. I'll send the buy in in some way in the next few days.

How long do you want to keep convincing yourself that Darwin is capable of leading the Liverpool attack? We're both aware that he's only playing more minutes because he doesn't have any competition in that position.

Darwin Nunez, 5 goals , 15 chances missed.
N. Jackson 7 goals , 12 chances missed. ( first season)

Guess who is getting all the negative energy and criticisms?

Both should, because both have been crap. Nunez especially.

I know I'm unpopular but Darwin makes moves off the ball that Isak can't. He also riles opponents up reminiscent of Suarez. We had nice guys up front with Sadio/Bobby/Salah, even Jota, Gakpo, Diaz are only a shade off but I like streetfighting snarl in the mix and I hold fast to Nunez thriving as a foil our modern 9s seem to be.

Sure, but he makes movements even his teammates can't understand. He's constantly offside, rarely in the right place, rarely with good off the ball decisions.

I read a stat somewhere on Twitter, says something like this:
Nunez since joining Liverpool - 10 big chances scored, 40 big chances missed.

He's scored 5 goals from 8.7 xG. I know what you mean - the guy causes chaos, that's true. But unfortunately, more to our team than to the opponents' one.
