803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 18, 2012, 08:59:47 PM
pirateat40 is an idiot.

And anyone else looking for market indicators in an IRC chat is an even BIGGER idiot.

And just so you know, myrkul, I did it again in my reply to you. I used the word to instead of too. And it occurred exactly due to the reason I gave.

Clicking "post" before proof-reading your posts?

Often. Now, regarding your pontifications and prognostications on politics, we all find them a bit peremptory, and thus we feel compelled to respond in a perfunctory manner, which may come off as pugnacious to you.
Grin Hero member folks.

Question are you working on any BTC related projects at the moment?
805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Public Plea to Bitcoin Developers and Supporters alike on: July 13, 2012, 10:30:44 AM
GPU and FPGA cockroaches are running for the cover and demanding a fork to protect their hides. How hilarious!

Here is a news for you. You can make that fork yourself right now, no need to beg any devs. Just pledge a 50 BTC bounty and someone will make that fork for ya. So stop whining and do the fork I dare you.

The rest of us will stay with Bitcoin that will enjoy Exahashes of hashing power securing it's transactions.

BTW. Consider applying for Whiner in Chief job at RIAA, they will surely understand your angst.

+1

Does anyone recommend any other podcasts or vcasts to keep up with btc world?
Hasn't been updated in a while http://bittalk.tv/
808  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you pay taxes if you could live off bitcoins? on: July 10, 2012, 08:09:58 AM
I'm not too worried. I already have BTC stashed in places the IRS will never find, and even if they did they couldn't decrypt them.

Oh, me too. But thing is... suppose BTC price multiplies by 100 or something (just for the sake of the example).
I honestly wouldn't know how to actually profit from it (make good use of my coins) while remaining "under the radar". (it wouldn't surprise me if some of the "early adopters" didn't cash out during the bubble peak for this very reason)
I might consider emigrating to a tax haven or something if such a thing happens. Cheesy But long distance emigration is always a very tough decision to make.
Your reason is the reason why anyone who takes the currency seriously should just come out and say it...
809  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will hit $8+ within one month of this thread. on: July 10, 2012, 02:12:36 AM
I doubt this will happen. It will soon return $5 due to speculation imo. The bubble will burst.

Nope. We won't see $5 ever again, count on it.

I don't think it's unlikely to see $5s again.
It's very unlikely. With the introduction of ASIC mining, the networking power will only quantify the inevitable.

LETS GET THIS

$8

CHARGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Translation: "I'm holding BTC I bought at $5 (or $6 or even $7). Someone else please spend lots of money to drive the price higher so I can make money!"
Bitcoins are heavily undervalued. I can give you many reasons why...

813  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you pay taxes if you could live off bitcoins? on: July 09, 2012, 02:44:58 AM
I do/would pay taxes, as long as we have direct access to our democracy.

Right now the problem is that our elections are bought, and the same people buying the elections are the ones advocating for even LESS control...

815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs. the Banks on: July 05, 2012, 12:19:12 AM
Love this post.

P.S 95% of the people who work for banks are regular people. It's the manipulators at the top that should be noted...
816  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US health care mandate (Obamacare) on: July 01, 2012, 09:38:05 PM
HCR was the necessary medium that our nation needed to balance out the injustices ordained by the health insurance company's and big pharmaceuticals.

End of story.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do people sell bitcoins and move the money back to their bank? on: June 26, 2012, 04:44:07 AM
For bitcoin miners like myself we purchased video cards with 6 month+ payoff time frames so we have to sell constantly when the price is good just to get to a break even point before we start to make real profit.

Miners won't earn profits selling constantly at a price higher than cost. They have to hoard and speculate just like everyone else.
I don't pay for power.  So 100% of my sold coins go to paying off the last GPU I bought.
Yeah that's an option when you're 12 or a thief.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do people sell bitcoins and move the money back to their bank? on: June 25, 2012, 08:10:23 PM
I've never cashed out.  Never intend to.
+1 same here.
