801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New R9 cards and possibilities for GPU mining on: November 28, 2015, 10:43:32 AM
I sold a couple of r9 280x and I picked up a cheap r9 nano. I wonder if the 4096 shaders@175w can be used for mining. Smiley

cheers

I did some tests and found it behaves pretty much like Hawaii, maybe a bit less power usage.
But a new driver just came out so the tests need to be done again, as the new driver may include an updated compiler (which is not uncommon when a new chip is out).
Maybe someone tested the new driver already?

Tried it now. Fiji is indeed slightly faster, but the new driver doesn't let me change clocks on the 290x any longer! :-(

Interesting.

Going to try that out later today.

What OS is that Pallas?

I got it new for $500 with free shipping(black friday sale). Will probobly never ROI, but I need some more challenges. Furyx users renamed wolf0's hawaii bins and upgraded to the latest driver to get a boost. (x11)

That's very interesting sp, i own a few fury's and i'm very interested in what you can achieve.

I've done some tests on few algo's a few months ago. You can see the results here. (you probably remember those as you were active in that thread as well..)

Even more interested now :-)

Keep it up! Will definitely follow this thread even more now

Don't be naive! Botnet can be built from the coin daemon.

The only thing that there is no botnet yet, that your coin doesnt have value.
It will remain so until, the dev (or someone else) doesnt pump the coin.

True, but for 99% of the script kiddies out there, this is not self-evident.

On the other hand, this creates extra opportunities.

We'll see how this all works out..

I'm still skeptical about how the dev will continue his work on this coin though..

806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fantom | CPU Mineable | DarkSend | Masternode | Exclusively on C-CeX on: November 17, 2015, 06:34:36 AM
DuckYeah!, when will the masternodes be live? After POS ends at block 100k?

No Masternodes until the code is perfect, don't want angry investors

Sounds so weird...

Wouldn't it be a great idea to make sure the rest is perfect as well?

If i was an investor, i definitely wouldn't invest in something that's nearly finished.

Think about it...

And yeah, what's up with c-cex?

Good Morning! It is now time to attract people with something interesting, adding Fantom to C-Cex is just a small step. Smiley
It is your turn! Again! Smiley

Exactly...

Some publicity, New things. You've got a serious amount of responsibility Dev. Lots of people counting on you!

Dumping Jack game started... Month or two later - price will be grow up!

That game only works when there are buyers  Wink

Those sell orders, rather low if you ask me.

While the highest bid at 150 sat, only stupid miner will sell FCX at that price.  Grin

Those in desperate need of cash. Wouldn't be much, but it's something Smiley

Is there an irc channel available?

Would be interesting though.

Also would like to talk to the bigger bag holders Smiley

coin been out since 24t last month. very slim to see it on a exchange. good luck though

I remember Siacoin, took more than 6months to be listed.

Eventually they got listed and still are..

Just saying..

Hey, this seems very interesting indeed!

I'm an altcoin miner (Only GPU's) but i'm open to try new things and this seems to be ideal for that.

If possible i would like to buy 2-3 to start with.

I'm european. I hope that's not an issue Smiley

Thx

Worldwide deliveries will be fine, once official sales open Ill have to coordinate a single shipment to each continent to keep shipping costs down for you guys. Of course ill need trustworthy people to handle this.

Understandable, pm me when you're ready to take order/ship.

Thx

Anybody manage to get a more stable version of that X11 Kachur bin? I've hoped that newer bins might come out which are more stable...

Mine is very stable - mining for days without problems!

what do you consider 'stable' z0n0? ...

when i setup a test machine - it continually gave messages that it was reconnecting to the site ( no matter what site that was ) and the hashrate fluctuated consistently ...

wolfs bins are slightly lower in hashrate ( only slightly ) but have never done such things ... they just run - even in linux ... hence why i wont go windows ...

so maybe your standard of 'stable' is very different from mine? ... disconnections from sites ( for whatever reason ) is a bad thing ... and after testing those SAME sites with wolfs bins - no disconnections and reconnections - unlike the kachur bins ...

so what are these russian bins 'really' doing? ... are they disconnecting from the site you are mining to mine elsewhere - then reconnecting to the site you are mining? ...

i cant consider any of those disconnection behaviors 'stable' or 'normal' ...

i would rather lose a small amount of hash to have them 'actually' stable - and continue to use wolfs bins ...

the russian quark miner does exactly the same thing ...

#crysx

"stable" - running 24/7 without disconections/crashes
i do not have any issues with kachur for now, will stick with it since gives little better results than wolf's

brgds

no disconnects? ... no crazy hashrate? ...

damn ... you really do have it good ... Smiley ...

the test that i did with windows 7 and all the latest drivers was unstable in almost every way ...

#crysx

maybe i'm just lucky Smiley
running on 2 machines, both win7 - x64
PC1: 2 x r9280x / 7,45mh per card
PC2: hd7850 / 3,33mh
(X11 algo)

the test machine that i put it on was a w7u x64 - 16GB performance RAM - amd fx4300 ( i think ) quad core cpu - 5 x gigabyte amd 280x oc - 1500W antec psu bronze ...

using wolfs bins - not an issue at all ...

using the russian miner / bins - even with the quark miner also - continual dropouts and reconnects with hashrates fluctuating wildly ( probably due to the disconnects ) ...

so after a days worth of testing - i dropped it altogether and put the linux machine back ( and added the 6th card to machine - which linux accepts without a problem - windows didnt ) and all the mining was running smooth again ...

i dunno what it is with windows - but it seems just too much work to get it running as a miner ... especially in a farm ...

im glad yours is all good though ...

#crysx

I recently created a windows testmachine, this also to be able to see the difference between ETH on windows and on linux..

I was able to let them run smooth without losing hashrate or connections with those kachur bins.

What i did, i just changed the intensity from XI 512/1024 to I 19/20, problem solved Smiley

Greetings!
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Tutorial] How TO Mine Ethereum in 5 Minutes on: August 22, 2015, 04:56:19 PM
This guide is to show you how to mine Ethereum in 5 minutes, easily, from start to finish! Trust me, its not that hard! https://thebtcpool.com/how-to-mine-ethereum-extremely-easy/

Thank you for the tutorial , I was really interested on doing that however i didn't knew how to start .
I have one question , what are the estimated earning that you are getting for now ? daily , weekly or monthly and are you losing from electricity , I assume it's not hard as bitcoin since it's a new alternative cryptoo currency

I am using a R9 390X at about 26 MH/s. I am earning about 1 ETH a day, now, my card uses about 250 Watts, so for me its almost all profit, heck, maybe $20 a month for me in electricity, but I don't plan to run mine 24x7. Maybe see how many ETH I can get, and hope they rise up. And I updated the article to support multi-GPU's which not many people know how to do.

I'am not sure what R9 390X  & 26 MH per second means honestly , what's that Graphic card or something ?
I have nVidia , I'am not sure if that can be used for mining , nothing powerful though it's not the latest generation or anything

The R9 390X came out in July, so last month. It is the best of the best for AMD, and AMD is the best for mining. Nvidia is not that good, I own a 560ti and a GTX 770 (Titan style cooler).

My R9 390X gives me 30Mhz on Eth with no over clock, just stock settings. Not windows though.. 15.15 Drivers

Hi guys need help on a rig i have 1x R9 280x and 3x 750 Ti how can i mine with R9 with sgminer because i get error the ccminer for nvidia work perfect.

Any sugestions?

Thx in advance

1) Ensure that all cards work - GPU-Z/Device Manager/AfterBurner
2) Start miner on AMD GPU only, use --gpu-platform. If it won't work at all - re-install AMD drivers. If it will work but won't display temp/speeds or enter "3d mode" when mining - you need dummy plug. R9 290x can use simple DVI dummy with resistors. Or you can plug monitor in it.

nvidia and amd use two different drivers to access the cards in the system ...

you cannot mix and match them ... at least not from a 'standard' point of view ...

Yeah.. right..

for all the time ive been mining - i have never seen this done successfully ... especially with windows ...

now i have Smiley ...

the farm will still be sticking with linux - but damn good to see ...

btw - how did you get all 10 gpus in the one system without a BIOS change? ...

#crysx

Check his signature.

And i have to say. Congrats. Been able to get 8 running on linux. Had no more space to connect any extra gpu's.

And yes, i would also love to know what mobo that is. Gotta go get me one of those for sure Smiley
