How low does crave have to go before its considered dead?
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: KncMiner XBT: 756 BTC traded at 236.8$ on: May 26, 2015, 05:58:11 PM
I believe #5 translates to number certificates.  So that's 100k coins.  But that's not how many are in circulation.  I assume how many they are willing to issue.  But they also don't have 100k coins to back them.  Yet.
803  Economy / Speculation / Re: KncMiner XBT: 453 BTC traded at 237.21$ on: May 26, 2015, 04:22:22 PM
4483 coins in 7 days.  Not bad at all.  Knc will probably have to start buying some coins off exchange in another week or so to keep backing the notes?

Isnt this already planned for 2016 by gavin?
805  Economy / Speculation / Re: What does it take for Bitcoin to go 100X? on: May 25, 2015, 11:03:44 PM
We currently can't even get $1 million a day into the economy for the price to go up.  Across the whole world!  Plain and simple we need massive massive adoption.
806  Economy / Speculation / Re: What does it take for Bitcoin to go 100X? on: May 25, 2015, 10:17:11 PM
That type of price could not happen until several more halvings.  At current production to offset miners dumping there coins at $23k per coin, $82 million would have to go into the bitcoin economy every day to maintain that price.  I don't think so...
807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcointalk back up, Bitcoin falling again. Connection? on: May 25, 2015, 04:43:24 PM
This forum connected to bitcoin price?  Lol.  Maybe could influence it by a few pennies at most.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an actual Bitcoin bank yet? on: May 20, 2015, 12:33:16 PM
I would currently only trust coinbase or circle to store bitcoins.
809  Economy / Speculation / Re: KncMiner XBT: 131 BTC traded at 232.63$ on: May 20, 2015, 12:30:18 PM
So in the short term at least they won't be dumping coins every week anymore.  Long term they might have to buy if this pace of volume keeps going for several months.

Can you give any examples of that type of alt?
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Begins Trading on NASDAQ Stockholm on: May 19, 2015, 07:08:51 PM
If true that seems like a bad bad idea with bitcoin.  There is a finite number.  Supply and demand goes out the window and price will not go up if there not actually buying any supply.
812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Begins Trading on NASDAQ Stockholm on: May 19, 2015, 06:47:37 PM
If they dont need to back their notes with actual bitcoins then there just selling paper thats the same price of bitcoin.   Or they could issue billions of notes and essentially increase the number of coins that are even available.  What am i missing?
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Begins Trading on NASDAQ Stockholm on: May 19, 2015, 06:40:30 PM
Doesnt knc have to hold bitcoin for the notes?  What if btc triples in value and people cash out?  How would knc pay?  I doubt they can just issue notes on nasdaq without backing.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an actual Bitcoin bank yet? on: May 19, 2015, 12:17:07 AM
The point of bitcoin is to be "against the banks", look at some of the core principles and its opposite of bank. Transparency, you actually OWN the money, you manage it. Operating a bank that pays interest would part users from their btc, and the bank would likely run away with the money, because who has the time and money to pay interest for free.

That's your view.  Not everybodys.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an actual Bitcoin bank yet? on: May 18, 2015, 11:32:39 PM
Some of you guys are just going to accept that some people are going to want to use a third party bank just like cash.  Rather then just tell him he shouldn't use a third party maybe help him instead.  The future of bitcoin is not everybody holding their private keys.  Some people don't feel secure and are afraid of hackers, lost keys, house burning down, whatever.  It can be a hassle to keep backups for the non tech savvy.
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there an actual Bitcoin bank yet? on: May 18, 2015, 11:13:18 PM
I believe itbit has a new York banking license.  But a bitcoin bank isn't required to pay you interest.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21dotco: A bitcoin miner in every device and in every hand on: May 18, 2015, 10:48:52 PM
Don't underestimate the stupidity of consumers.  Most people don't understand mining or the power costs and they won't do the research.  "New smartphone for $100?  Where do I sign!"
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21dotco: A bitcoin miner in every device and in every hand on: May 18, 2015, 10:17:44 PM
The user will get a percentage of mined bitcoin.  And I believe the idea is that the hardware itself will be super cheap.  Like new moto x is $500.  Or $250 with bitcoin chip.  For example.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 18, 2015, 08:59:16 PM
So 950 btc worth of backed etn sold on NASDAQ Stockholm today and price drops $2.  Ooooookayyyyy...
820  Economy / Speculation / Re: XBT Provider on: May 18, 2015, 01:48:40 PM
Need someone who reads Swedish to view there docs and see how exactly there backing the notes with real bitcoin.
