Wow, thanks so much for the thorough responses! I have to say this could very well be the most professionally managed thread in all of Bitcointalk  Smiley

How about speed/scalability? I assume one of the advantages of Stratis is that it doesn't suffer from the same TPS and block size bottlenecks that Bitcoin faces? I have to admit I don't know anything about Stratis.

Appreciate it percocet! We do not intend to specifically implement a scaling solution in the initial release of DNotes 2.0, though it will be capable of handling a higher TPS. The scaling issue is largely unsettled, and there are a multitude of options that require in-depth research and analysis. The most viable scale-ability solution has not been selected as of yet.

Thank you, percocet. We are mindful that our industry lacks trust, integrity, professionalism, and dedicated leadership. Often there is no cohesive vision or truly long-term commitments to promote a unity of purpose to the mutual benefits of everyone. We constantly examine each and every major issue or problem, (both technical and social) confronting our industry and DNotes. The scaling constraint is one of the majors issues we are committed to solve. There are multiple solutions. As a matter of discipline, we are taking our time to pick the best path leading to the best solution. Again, our ecosystems, especially DNotesVault, will offer us a superior advantage.

I've been looking into Dnotes and I really like what I see so far. I would like some more details about the tech behind it....

Dnotes' current version is a POS coin, I assume forked from a Litecoin derivative back in the day?
It is my understanding that Dnotes 2.0 is being totally rewritten in C#? Is this a completely new codebase? Will any of it be proprietary/patented?
What type of blockchain will DNotes2.0 use (e.g. POS, dPOS, DAG)?

Thanks!

Welcome percocet, we are currently Proof of Work, and yes initially forked from Litecoin.

The initial release of DNotes 2.0 will not be entirely written in C#, that will take some time and will need to be completely rewritten and it will eventually be open source. It will be entirely Proof of Stake building on and contributing to much of the existing open source including Stratis and many other sources.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask, it helps us to clarify for everyone reading along.

Welcome to DNotes, Percocet. We are delighted to learn that you like what you have seen so far. Thanks for your questions.

You are correct that the current DNotes is a forked version of Litecoin. It is still a mineable Proof of Work (POW) until DNotes 2.0 is launched in September this year.

DNotes 2.0 is a forked version of Startis. We selected them as our base-line because of the work they started - coding in C#. They have made significant contributions in C# platform though a great deal more needs to be done. We are very appreciative of everyone’s contribution to further advance the technology in our collaborative open-source environment. DNotes is committed to do our part in support of open-source by making our source codes available at the appropriate time. I will not go so far to say that it is a completely new code base. Full credit must be given to the original bitcoin codebase of which we are a derivative of.

DNotes is committed to 100% C# conversion. Some innovative technologies will be incorporated. We do not to intent to apply for any patent at this time.

DNotes 2.0 is a migration from POW to POS. DNotes’ stakeholders will gain a unique advantage because of our ecosystem; in this case DNotesVault. Around 2% annual rate is paid to all account holders with DNotes on deposit of 30 days or more. Additionally, they will be rewarded for staking to support our network. We are making the staking process almost effortless. DNotesVault is designed for security, ease of use, and full participation of all our stakeholders with or without technical skills. This is the result of our relentless commitment to mass acceptance of DNotes. We have maintained a low profile while investing heavily in our ecosystems for the last 3 ˝ years.

Additionally, I believe that one day, those same DNotes, while earning interest and staking reward, can also be used as collateral equity to secure a line of credit using DNotes smart contract and our new blockchain. It is part of our road-map to have our own exchange, bank, partner bank, and a multi-currency card with convenient credit-line facilities and other financial services.

Hope that I have answered your questions sufficiently.

Hello DNotes team and supporters.  I'm new to the forum, but been following a while.  I would like to thank Tim for reaching out to me through facebook yesterday and today.  (I was razzing Peter Schiff on his endless tulip mania/bubble posts)  Tim spent more time commenting and answering questions I had, than I could of asked for.  A class act.  This whole team, and their approach to this developing market, is business minded and patient.  Exactly what this market needs for a legitimate, long lasting, trustworthy currency.  While nothing is guaranteed, I feel quite comfortable investing some of my fiat with this group, and I am excited to see where this project grows to.  I'm not in this just for speculative profits, but want to see how the ecosystem ends up changing the rigged financial system we are stuck with today.  Cheers, and average in while everything is on sale.

Hello Denver Dan,

Welcome to DNotes and thanks for your kind words. Tim is indeed a class act and a fine gentleman. We are very fortunate to have Tim and others firmly committed to DNotes’ vision of building a trust-worthy digital currency accessible for everyone worldwide to participate. It is our core belief that by helping others to benefit from this generational opportunity DNotes will become very successful.

Our ecosystem system will continue to expand at the right time. From our prospective they are all strategically linked and invaluable to our long-term success. With the launch of DNotes 2.0  in September the immense value of what we have created will be quite obvious.

You raise a really interesting point here Brandon and I'm wondering if it goes part-way to explaining an odd thing I've been watching on the Bitcoin charts. Could it be that this ignorance due to youth or unfamiliar technology is behind what I call the "Bitcoin ball bouncing down the steps"?

If you look at market charts for any business or commodity, the value line goes up and down as if it were drawn on a blank piece of paper. But the chart for Bitcoin looks as if it is actually responding to, or affected by the value lines on the chart. These horizontal lines have nothing to do with the value of Bitcoin, and are just visual indicators of rounded numbers, 2,100 -- 2,200 -- 2,300-- etc. It has been beyond my reasoning why Bitcoin just got over 2,700 then fell so fast, only to almost bounce off the bottom limit of 2,000. Then again at fractionally under the 3,000 line it dropped to bounce off the 2,300 line, or a bit below. Yesterday it bounced twice off the US$2,000 line like it was concrete before finally smashing right through it.

It seems that speculators are betting more on the actions of other speculators more than any other market influence, like upcoming soft/hard forks and fundamental changes to the coins architecture. So rather than wait it out and see what comes of Segwit2 or whatever makes it through, they set a sell price based on proximity to a rounded number, guessing that others will have set their sell price even closer to it, and hence make a profit. Not even understanding the technology is enough to justify this sort of gambling, and I think you must be right in identifying the average age of cryptocurrency investors.

I'd love to see some data correlating the age of participants and the size of their holdings. Then a comparison to the more stable holdings in the share market like the blue chip companies.

I wish I could take credit for this excellent article, but it was actually Chase who submitted it.

So, thank you, Chase. An excellent article - very appropriately timed in view of the challenging investment sentiments we all are confronted with. This is the time to hunt and look for "rough diamonds" among a pile of tainted rocks and garbage. The whole notion of decentralized consensus system and the underpinning blockchain technology are just as amazing today as they were a month ago. The technology itself is perfect and faultless. I can't say the same for human greed, ego, selfishness, and other bad conducts. We are all paying for them indiscriminately.

Cryptocurrency and Market Timing Irrationality
by DNotesEDU | Jul 17, 2017

It is pretty safe to say that the majority of new investors in cryptocurrency are there because they have heard of the amazing profits earned by other investors. Even though they may be warned of the potential risks and wild volatility, many come to expect nothing but gains, and are not prepared psychologically for any downturns or losses. In our world of instant gratification, they want the gains to happen now, and pay little heed to what it actually takes to build something of value. Everything is fine as long as the market is rising, but panic sets in every time the price falls. It happens over and over…

Herd Mentality

It starts with herd mentality – following the latest ICO, or a flashy new blockchain project looking for a problem to solve, or any other venture with a lot of hype surrounding it. And, typical of a herd, the sheep will eventually follow each other off of a cliff. They may even feel they have done their research and really believe in this project, but their research may be nothing more than reading up on the developer’s big plans via a whitepaper that is at best, a weak promise. By following the herd, whether it is by listening to an uninformed writer who recently discovered bitcoin (and thinks they’re an expert), believing the unsubstantiated hype of those promoting their self-interests, or crowd-following in order to belong to the “in” community, a follower will inevitably hang onto the cryptocurrencies they should get rid of, and get rid of the ones they should keep.

Interesting find. This is a high traffic and popular investment site. Evidence the mainstream interest is growing.

This is very interesting. They have been around since 2005 with forum discussion on every investment imaginable, as well as every other topic of interest to members. It looks as though there were less than a dozen boards on bitcoin (some started as early as 2014), and even fewer on other cryptocurrencies or related projects. They must have seen the writing 'on the financial wall', because yesterday (July 15th), they created boards for around 100 cryptocurrencies, including DNotes.  Smiley

Is the OP infographic available somewhere else other than bitcointalk? I want to link to it, and the last time I linked anything back to bitcointalk, it didn't end well for my time on that forum... lol. I'm using http://dnotesedu.com/2017/05/dnotes-2-0-bridging-gap-centralized-decentralized-world/ for now.

I've posted on the DNotes board at Investors Hub - https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=133036490. Ignore my 2nd and 3rd post - I kept getting a timed-out message and told to try posting again in a few minutes. There is a limit of 3 posts per day to start, and from what I can tell, there is a time limit in editing your post (which is really scary for me - lol)

Thank you Chase, for the post at Investor Hub. DNotes has been getting some recognition outside of our industry. I have been getting a few requests for interview and speaking engagement. Despite the current uncertainties, DNotes is well positioned to survive the test of time. This industry struggle may lead to investors' demand for integrity and trustworthiness as the prerequisite for their hard-earned dollars. That will be to DNotes' benefit. No one take that more seriously than we do.

Like most of you, it has been a painful and disappointing week to see the blood-bath in our industry continued. Thanks to the "editorialized/translated" article below I finally ended up the week with a few good laughs. To begin with, I did not know that I was interviewing for a job. It is not likely that any company can pay me enough to work for them. I pay to work 12 to 14 hour a day to have the privilege of working for DNotes. I am doing so out of my firm believe that this is a generational opportunity to help change the world, even slightly, to the benefits of millions who will be positively impacted by the many global projects we to plan to embark.

DNotes Co-Founder Alan Yong Offers Insight on DNotes Tactic and Eyesight in Current CEO CFO Interview

In an job interview with CEOCFO Magazine published on Monday, DNotes co-founder Alan Yong exposed his feelings on the latest point out of cryptocurrency, the obstructions blocking the market from obtaining additional widespread acceptance, and his company’s approach to situation DNotes to Yong, the author of the book Improve Your Odds – The 4 Pillars of Small business Accomplishment, pulled no punches as he surveyed the digital currency landscape in 2017 and elaborated on DNotes World wide Inc’s options and DNotes’ probable.

In remarks right after the job interview was published, Yong designed obvious his perception in digital currency’s ability to amount the taking part in field for billions of fiscally disadvantaged people today close to the earth. That is why he chose to emphasize their plight and clarify how the DNotes crew options to situation that currency to fill that hole by satisfying all the fundamental functions of cash.

Younger stated:
I talked about the two.two billion people today close to the globe who lack accessibility to fundamental economical providers. […] How do you improve your lifestyle and that of your local community or place when financial institutions won’t even give you accessibility to a cost savings account – significantly much less a smaller company loan or other credit score alternatives? This is not a new challenge, and nevertheless the latest economical system has carried out minimal or nothing at all to make those peoples’ life improved. A little something has to improve.

Yong’s focus on these forms of difficulties is understandable. For decades, cryptocurrency fans have argued that digital currency would supply the democratization of cash that the earth requires to empower everyone. On the other hand, as he alludes to in his job interview, minimal real progress has been designed. And if Yong is appropriate, handful of if any of today’s digital currencies are adequately positioned to satisfy that guarantee of monetary democratization.

With respect to Bitcoin, Yong notes that its recognition and latest cost could show to be a barrier to additional widespread adoption close to the earth. As he pointed out in the job interview, “mass acceptance of any digital currency also necessitates it to be accessible to any person and everyone close to the earth – alternatively than just getting limited to the monied elite.” Yong says that universal accessibility is a central target for the DNotes crew and project.

To complete that, the DNotes strategy reportedly focuses on generating an educated local community focused to the currency’s success, a reliable brand that is the two reputable and verifiable, and a system that emphasizes instruction about digital currency. DNotes World wide Inc was created as a for-earnings firm to aid satisfy those ambitions and supply the leadership wanted to make sure that the currency acquires true intrinsic price.

That intrinsic price will be vital if DNotes is to obtain Yong’s dream of serving as a viable source for economical empowerment close to the earth. No currency can extended lay claim to that designation without some measure of intrinsic price considering that significantly of the world’s inhabitants will be reluctant to put its believe in in any currency that suffers from unpredictable and wild cost swings.

Yong also went into larger depth about the DNotes World wide Inc project and its extended-term ambitions. The DNotes crew options to eventually launch a cryptocurrency trade, as well as an online bank. And that’s on top rated of its ongoing attempts to continue on to improve its other project offerings – providers and attributes that involve every thing from the revolutionary and secure DNotes Vault system to the company’s CRIPS cost savings accounts and retirement plan.

Yong’s job interview with CEOCFO Magazine presents probably the most in-depth glimpse into his company’s options nevertheless, and that’s most likely to spark even additional fascination in the DNotes project. Even now, Yong appears to be to be using that in stride.

DNotes is making lots of exhilaration appropriate now, but we’re continue to concentrated on the undertaking before us. This is a large project, with large ramifications for the earth – so patience is a must. If I’ve figured out a single factor in my company lifestyle, it is that you often need to do the appropriate factor at the appropriate time – and for the appropriate explanations. We intend to preserve doing just that.

Thanks, you raised lots of interesting points that I couldn't help but comment on, in green.

I just read that as well but you beat me to the post!  Grin

I'm not surprised that this article caught your eye too. I think Revolut is a game changer.

[...]

Let's face it, the crypto ecosystem does not need "brick and mortar" branch offices and 20 employees in hundreds of cities to satisfy customers needs. The overhead this will eliminate is staggering in, and of, itself. Twenty four by seven access is the holy grail of banking right now but, until now, only ATM machines and bank web sites could come close and the reality of it is that it's an illusion, and an expensive one at that for the consumer.

I think what bricks and mortar does for currency is similar to what hard cash does. It makes it seem real. It generates trust. I believe that if when Bitcoin first launched it had teller machines in every major city, and these Bitcoin teller machines let you plug in a blank or walletted USB stick and feed in hard fiat currency in exchange for bitcoin. Then I'm certain that bitcoin would have escalated in value much faster, and adoption would have been much broader.

But if you think about this process for just a second, you'll see that the only real difference between the outcome of buying your bitcoin online and buying it through a teller machine is trust. But there's nothing more stopping a teller machine from swallowing your money and rejecting your walletted USB, than there is from an exchange failing to provide you the Bitcoin you purchased. It is simply the trust comes from touching real things.

So, think about this for a minute: Today's crypto exchanges will be tomorrow's pioneering online, full service, no fiat banks. Is there a better fit or road to the evolution of these entities? Current thinking sees services such as Bittrex, Poloniex, Kraken and the others as mimicking the stock markets but, I see then evolving into full service online banks with crypto eventually totally replacing fiat at some future point. As far as ATM's go, they will eventually be a thing of the past like color TV picture tubes, they will yield to new technology. If everyone has access to and, could spend their funds anywhere using their cell phone or some other sort of portable electronic device, who would have the need for an ATM? No cash, no ATM. Even Bitcoin ATMs days are numbered unless they morph into a form of "crypto coin exchanger", like a hardware ShapeShift perhaps. But even here, if you can do it on a cell phone, why the need for a kiosk? I suppose in areas and countries where cellular enjoys less than 98% penetration, it would be needed, for now.

My cell phone freezes sometimes and eats up what's left of the battery when it does. Other times, when I go for a walk and a swim, I don't bring it with me. And because I live somewhere with lots of free WiFi, I don't have a data plan and for times haven't even bothered with a SIM. So a cell phone is part of the solution, but we need more.

This is where Revolut is a game changer. I can have a Revolut card with a value held in a single currency, and spend it in any currency. I can leave it in my pocket when I go swimming. When the Revolut card holds DNotes, I won't need to store value in a fiat currency at all. Instead I can hedge my bets and spread out my risks and opportunities without impacting my available day to day funds or transactions.

The Four Pillars of Business Success talks about focusing on the right idea and not competing in a saturated market without any differentiation. As soon as I saw the Revolut video, I realised that DNotes does not need to burn energy and funds creating a mobile application, an ATM teller machine card, or any of that expensive and risky infrastructure. What it needs to do is implement technology in DNotes2.0 which enables businesses like Revolut to incorporate DNotes into their service effortlessly.

I see guaranteeing funds with an equal amount in cold-store, enabling proof of stake for fast reliable confirmations, reducing value fluctuations by providing intrinsic value and avoiding hype, these are all aspects that simplify incorporation into services like Revolut. I also hope that Alan Yong has invited Nikolay Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko out to dinner for a chat.

Darwin's contribution basically states "adapt or die" which fully encompasses the state of the financial industry we are dealing with today. It is a given that people will adapt by using the easier of two different choices all else being equal. Why would you drive to the bank or ATM to get "cash" when you can click an icon and your purchase is payed for? Kind of a no brainer really, cash and the institutions that support it and control us through it are as dead as the dinosaurs, they just haven't looked up at the sky, yet...

I think that we will see that some are dinosaurs and some will try to be crocodiles. Fear of losing control and advantage in the finance industry has them all working together to make it hard for cryptocurrency exchanges to operate, lobbying governments to make unworkable restrictions, and pressuring merchant service providers to not jump the fence. Alas, I have no evidence of my opinion.

But the fintech industry is nipping at the heals of old finance. There is a lot of money to be made by banks that go hybrid and the early adopters will retain the reputation as go-to banks for cryptocurrency for a long time. Others will spend a fortune on advertising to get a piece of that market confidence. So the temptation for banks to break ranks and incorporate cryptocurrency services is really high.

Many banks are slow to innovate due to risk-averse policies and board structures. But there are many 'societies', 'funds' and other players in the industry that are modelled very closely on bank structures, but never included into the big-boys club with the official title of bank. I see these excluded players as being more agile, less risk averse, and much more likely to break ranks early.

Update:
And already the banks start breaking rank.

Great points. With our own exchange, bank and partner banks, a well integrated DNotes multi-currency card is not a pipe-dream. I will certainly make a note to invite Nikolay Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko out to dinner for a chat one day.

Thanks mrbum805, that was a great recap post of what is going on at DNotes!  Smiley

I agree. Thank you mrbum805 for the great recap, sharing your prospective, and observation. Yes, DNotes is uniquely different from our industry peers. We believe that this is a generational opportunity to help change the world to benefit many people positively. We have a clear vision where DNotes will be in 10 to 20 years from now. DNotes will meet and exceed the full functions of money and be accepted by the masses globally. This is a big bold global project, involving many moving parts or building blocks. We are constructing them block by block and they are all strategically linked.

We have accomplished a lot and fully committed to do a great deal more. We are often willing to do the extras that other won't care to do, so that DNotes will be in the position to do things others can't do in the future.

By doing the right thing at the right time, DNotes will be the trusted digital currency in global commerce.

The current industry sentiment is very negative with great distrust and a high level of disgust. Many investors have suffered significant losses with little recourse. Obviously, someone got rich quick at the expense of many innocent investors. This will be quite damaging to our industry, but could encourage more people to place a higher value on a trusted brand like DNotes.

I have always been concerned about every item of Dnotes, each of which feels great, the current price is too low, if the developer continues to improve the value of the increase, Dnotes value must be higher than the ETC, that is now the price of 50 to 100 times Between, worthy of long-term holding, can ignore short-term fluctuations.
Thank you for your confidence in DNotes and our team. I share your frustration and will say that DNotes is significantly under-valued. I will be a fool if I agreed to sell just our ecosystem, including DNotes Global, Inc. (25% owned by DNotes’ stakeholders) for $$7,304,692, as valued by CoinMarketCap at the time of writing. It would be like selling Google or Facebook for that amount during their first year of operations. Essentially, zero value is assigned for our ecosystem – the most valuable driver towards mass acceptance of DNotes as a supplement to global fiat currencies. Yes, it is a big bold endeavor and we are the only team totally dedicated to make it happen – and we will. Everything that we have done is real and verifiable.

Wait, if we have only DNotes – the digital currency like our industry peers and spent all the money and time pumping up DNotes the value of DNotes perhaps would be worth many times more than it is today. In my opinion, our industry, as a whole, has a rather confused judgement in sorting out value investment.

Why is DNotes so different? Because we believe that digital currency is the future of money (not fluff and puff thin air). The one to succeed must meet and exceed the full functions of money as a unit of account, a store of value, and a medium of exchange. And there must be fundamental or intrinsic value behind it.  For it to happen, many challenges must be overcome and many problems solved – hence it requires a complex ecosystem and substantial investment.
So, what is the difference compared to what everyone else is doing?

We all started with the same OEM (original equipment manufacturer) engine – (Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoin engine) and changed the name plate with a few bells and whistles added to it. Without doing much more we claimed that it will magically be accepted as the transport vehicle by the masses. We don’t think so. We believe that for it to gain mass acceptance, we must use the amazing engine to build a great car along with highways, gas stations, repair shops, etc. This takes a great deal of time and investment; few in our industry would care to understand or take seriously.

Our vision is to build DNotes as a trusted, purposeful digital currency accessible to everyone world-wide to supplement, and ultimately replace fiat currencies. How much could DNotes be worth one day – well your guess is as good as mine.

In reality, you can not fire a volunteer. They all believe that they have the best solution and often left the last 10% to 15% of the most challenging part unfinished. All the work-around and patch after patch lead to inefficiencies and confusions. We are committed to give DNotes 2.0 a clean start. That will give us the advantage to offer many apps we have in mind.

Is this for real?  Huh I had no idea. When I read 'converting to 100% C#, I assumed a process-for-process, class-for-class port. I did not know that the existing code that DNotes, and many other alt-coin was based on, had any work-arounds or additional patches. And I was well beyond guessing that DNotes Global Inc was going to do a clean-slate rebuild and everything that implies.

This is such a major differentiation, and differentiation is recognised as critical in The Four Pillars of Business Success. I understand not hyping up things before they are ready to be delivered, but that doesn't mean you can't be clear, on your road map, about the extent to which you intend to improve DNotes.

This deserves a solid article and a video that specifically identifies some of the current work-arounds and patches being used by all alt-coins built on the same technology as DNotes. I think that this is especially prudent and valuable when so many people are trying to escape 'the cleaning' by finding a safe harbour in a cryptocurrency with a solid future.

Tim, it is for real. And that is not all. Think of having five employees, each speaking a different foreign language. They can still communicate but only through an interpreter.  Our preference is to use one language and in this case C#. Of course, it could have been C++, but that would limit us to the "elite" programmers - to give them some credit.

For DNotes to gain mass acceptance one day we consciously target two groups - 1) everyone worldwide - rich or poor; young or old, tech and non-tech, and male or female. 2) the business world - small or large corporations - with focus on ease of participation. Additionally, my book "Improve Your Odds - The Four Pillars of Business Success" with a chapter on the DNotes story is "a foot in the door". It helps when I have an immense experience and knowledge in new business start-ups and managing them successfully. Furthermore, I am genuinely committed to help reduce the high rate of business failures (80% + failed in the first 10 years). We truly want others to succeed and benefit in what we believe is the greatest technology revolution since the internet.

I always believe in a complete system approach. Doing parts of something and ignoring others while hoping that somehow everything will fall in place is just a wishful thinking more likely to fail than to succeed. DNotes is more than just a digital currency like Bitcoin. We constantly examine the opportunities and challenges confronting the currency, the ecosystems, and our industry as a whole.

Success in business is about identifying problems and challenges and exploit them as opportunities. Of course, it takes deep knowledge and skillful execution. We are very good at that. That is why we are confident that DNotes will be very successful and destined to lead our industry one day.

That's great news to see the bill progress further. I've been following it since I heard about it. DNotes Global is incorporated in the state of Delaware. As stated, it will make the swapping of assets much easier, faster, and cheaper and make blockchain equity platforms more attractive with the first state backing it. DNotes Global is incorporated in Delaware.

Thank you, alaalfa, for bringing this to our attention. This is very significant. Delaware is taking the lead but one day all the remaining states will follow, including Illinois. DNotes Global, Inc is incorporated in the state of Delaware and operating its registered business in the state of Illinois. It has limited transactions and business activities at this point but that will change in the future. The path we a chosen is consistent with our vision and the likely path of state and federal regulatory registry, reporting, and licensing requirements as the industry becomes increasingly matured.

Personally, I am concerned about the reckless conducts of our industry as a whole, especially, with regards to the rampant speculative ICOs often with little to zero underlining value. I am fearful that many investors will see substantial losses in their investment with no recourse or hope that what they invested will be worth anything one day. We are already seeing a "blood-bath" that could be quite painful. And regulators will have no choice but take corrective actions to protect consumers investors.

This is a very predictable out-come and a thinning-out process, just like what happened to other emerging technology eras, including PC and dot com. Only a few survived but most vanished. DNotes will survive the test of time. Sadly, most investors in our industry don't seem to do enough home-work to separate fluff from substance. Despite significant added value in DNotes 2.0 development and other areas the value of DNotes has dropped by 75% from its high. It has been under-valued to begin with. I am in accumulation mode.

Do you think that that time of "cleaning" is already here? What about the August 1st? Will you keep your funds on poloniex? Sad story about this blood bath. I am in accumulation mode too, switching from coins that remained more stable to DNotes and Eth.

From my prospective, the industry market-cap went up too quickly to an unsustainable level. It is now trying to seek a “technical” bottom and re-establish itself before the next up trend. The August 1st Bitcoin hard fork user activated Segregated Witness (Segwit) under Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) 148 will introduce further uncertainties and prolong the correction period. Over the short term this will be very damaging, especially, those with ICOs in the works. I believe that investors will be more cautious going forward; though the “greed factor” often lead to short memory. Best case, people will try harder to do their home before investing – a good thing for DNotes. I am certain that the thinning out cleaning process has already started.

Longer-term out-look is excellent for DNotes. The insane volatility will cause significant loss of confidence to most “real” world investors that are waiting on the side-line. More people will begin to appreciate why DNotes has elected to take a different path with a focus to create fundamental intrinsic value for DNotes stakeholders.

Especially after our recent meeting with our core development group, I am very confident that DNotes will be a technology leader within a year or two. DNotes 2.0 will be a significant contribution to our industry once we achieved 100% conversion to C#.

Think of it as a brand new garden hose as oppose to one with 100 patches from volunteers with each hose clamp tighten from 85% to 95% Tensile strength. There are inefficiencies and leaks all-over. That is the inherent problem of an open source environment, especially without strong leadership and commitment to finish the job no matter how challenging and difficult.

In reality, you can not fire a volunteer. They all believe that they have the best solution and often left the last 10% to 15% of the most challenging part unfinished. Even now I have trouble sleeping. But that is only because of me. Now I know when I will make a big investment, I will have to wait and see how the market goes. I bought because I researched this coin and I find it a good one. They have a different approach and a good plan. I plan on holding and staking.... I watch the market 24/7 with little time to sleep. I hope on finding time to adjust things so that I can sleep and go outside more.

I should have waited until this post to throw out my Caceres advice above.

Watching markets 24/7...having trouble sleeping....this is no recipe for happy holding. Trust me, I live this reality myself with my own technology startup that I work for and have invested deeply into (far more than I can afford to lose). I spend 24/7 doing exactly what you mention, not sleeping, anxiously stressing, wondering about every market machination....I promise myself that I'll never be in this position again.

And crypto gives me a chance to prove that declaration. Hold. Hold some more. And then hold longer than that. I realize I, and no one else controls how I emotionally feel about those previous 10 words. I can hold and hold, and that understanding of the long term value here means that nobody can tell me how to feel about holding through short term market movements.

I deeply implore you, don't stay up thinking of the market. You might lose your whole investment. Don't kid yourself. If you study the great Bell Labs mathematician John Kelly and his "Kelly Criterion"...the risk of ruin in the crypto space is nontrivial. You can go bust, very easily. Because it's very very hard to make bets in a completely Kelly compatible way.

Literally the only way to combat this is to bet with money you can completely lose, and divorce yourself from market movements in the short term. Because it's almost impossible to make bets with 0 risk of ruin, which is what being Kelly compatible means.

I have not bet this way with my technology startup, and it eats me alive inside. I wont ever make this same emotional mistake again, and that has started with crypto investing.

Basically, I agree with you about only betting money you can't afford to loose but, on the other hand, if that were the only accepted formula, this industry and all that goes along with it, would not exist. Sometimes, we need to follow up on that "wild ass guess" or hunch that has been eating at us wither we can afford it or not. Many of histories greats could not afford to loose what they invested but, they ultimately prevailed. Each individual has to access their exposure and ability to absorb a lose before turning the cards over. Many have weighed loosing their money against loosing their mind. Sometimes, it's worth placing the bet just to keep your sanity, win or loose. Don't take this as advise by any means but, risk creates wealth not safe harbor.

Thank you guys, great answers. And yes, risk creates wealth, so I am willing to all in in crypto. We don't know what can happen from here, just like we didn't know what internet was no so long ago. In my opinion, this is a revolution far greater than we can imagine. A revolution that is happening faster and faster. Somewhere, hopefully in the near future, we will look back and say "I am happy to be a part of this".

Thank you, alfaalfa. I am delighted that you are seeing that opportunities are not without risk. There is always the risk of not succeeding as a result of uncontrollable factors, inherent to our industry; and there are many, including the fact that a decentralized organization such as a digital currency is leaderless.

DNotes' business model is uniquely different. DNotes as a digital currency, by itself is leaderless, just like any other digital currency. The issuance and the governance of the currency is decentralized. The value of the currency is entirely left alone at the mercy or benefit of free market forces. As we all know, price wise, there are good days, as well as bad days totally beyond our control.

We recognized the faults or pitfall of such a structure. Apparently, most people still don't get it. DNotes Global, Inc. a for profit company, incorporated in the state of Delaware, USA will make a huge difference and go a lone way in the success of DNotes. It's mission is to protect and promote the best interest of DNotes and our stakeholders with the best leadership along with the best use of resources at our disposal. And our stakeholders own 25% of this company as a gift from our generous founding investors. Additionally, I spent a whole year writing a great business book, invested a significant amount money, and granted 100% royalty free rights to DNotes Global. Unfortunately, most people are inherently dismissive. Perhaps a year or two from now, some would wonder and ask, "It was so obvious, how could I have missed the opportunity to invest in DNotes?"

Good luck at the Open House tomorrow!   Smiley Smiley

Thank you, Chase. We have been working hard in preparation for Smokeys Gardens’ open house. We are expecting a big turn-out. DNotes will have its own display tent and we are giving away DNotes to anyone who register with an email address. Thanks to DNotesVault – it is that simple. DNotesVault's capabilities continue to amaze.

I trust that one day soon investors will realize that DNotes is much more than just another digital currency. It comes with the backing of a for-profit company, a well written business book with a chapter about the DNotes’ Story, and a developed complex ecosystem. We are built to survive the anticipated test of time. I have been down that route before. At one time, there were thousands of “PC manufacturers” and hot dot com companies “claiming” to be doing great things. At DNotes, we are actually doing great things.

Maybe you can share with us your experience, what did it take to begin to understand the full scope of the DNotes project. How can we better clarify that message in such a way that will allow a reader or viewer to 'get it', and realize we are not a centralized currency, but a decentralized currency with the central entity that can only assist the decentralized currency.

I guess I found the centralized—decentralized concept immediately understandable at a simplistic level. And at a code level, I still don't know how it has been implemented.

Maybe this is because it is how I perceive all alt-coins to varying degrees. The nature of blockchain technology makes an alt-coin decentralized except in those odd cases where the creator takes a more controlling stance. But all of the alt-coins were created by a team who chose the name, chose the branding, negotiated with exchanges and took on all of the other required centralized roles to get their alt-coin accepted.

The only difference I see between these other alt-coins and DNotes is the extent to which DNotes is supported and guided. Supporting with a 25% share in DNotes Inc, guiding towards a more capable 2.0 version, establishing strong communities are all valuable centralized activities.

At the coding level, my understanding is the transition to DNotes 2.0 will be done via a 1:1 exchange of old version DNotes made through the vault. I would call this a centralized process taking place in the decentralized sphere of the currency. At this stage, my understanding of the process is so limited, I'm just trusting DNotes to get it right. I don't know what happens to DNotes1.0 that are not swapped for their 2.0 version. My guess is because it is a peer-to-peer blockchain, they will still be traded via node wallets. I don't know if the history of DNotes1.0 will be embedded into the DNotes2.0 blockchain, or if the 2.0 will be tacked onto the existing blockchain.

I also don't know how DNotes2.0 will handle code changes in the future. Can a consensus group outside of the DNotes team come together, agree on a code change, share it with more than 51% of nodes/coins or something and implement the change without approval from the DNotes team? Is being able to do this part of the requirement of considering a currency truly decentralized?

So as you can see, I probably have more questions than answers, but I'm like that about a cup of tea too, it is just my nature.

"So as you can see, I probably have more questions than answers, but I'm like that about a cup of tea too, it is just my nature." Yes, it can be quite complicated. I trust that given the time and research you will gain great understanding before long. Meanwhile, the most important thing to understand about DNotes is that the issuance and governance of DNotes - the digital currency is and will be 100% decentralized. No single individual or a group of individuals control DNotes. Every single DNotes that I own is purchased from the open exchange like everyone else. Ownership is "at will". A large owner of DNotes, or for that matter, any owner of DNotes can liquidate its ownership at any time, and no longer remain as an owner. Technically, once DNotes 1.0 is swapped for DNotes 2.0, the original DNotes as a coin has "0" value. Any value must be created from "0".

This is just a brief response to some of your key points. The DNotes core team will be extremely busy the next few days doing some important filming and preparing for Smokeys Gardens open house. This place is looking like a paradise and we are expecting over 150 guests. Hope more DNotes supporters can join us next year.

Thanks Chase!

It took a fair amount of time to put together. I have more in the works - and a still a couple of high-production ones with outsourced help by professional animators. This is the beginning of a relentless PR drive to match our development progress.

"It took a fair amount of time to put together." - It's evident in the quality, and the graphics are fantastic. I was told by someone who does this as a hobby that, depending on the video, a couple of seconds of finished video can take hours to create.

We have a very talented team at DNotes.  Smiley

Thanks, Chase. I am proud to confirm that we do have "a very talented team at DNotes." But Henry Ford is right again“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.” We think we can produce great videos. After hundreds of hours, it is looking like we are right.

Now consider these, we think that DNotes will meet the full functions of money and will be superior to money. We also think that DNotes will gain sufficient global acceptance to supplement fiat currency one day. Because of that mindset we are on course to make the near impossible possible. Stay tuned for more.

Hello everyone, I spent the last few days making a video to promote the DNotes strategy to build intrinsic value in the currency by backing it with the profits of a company - DNotes Global.

DNotes - Backed by Business

Wow, there's some really intuitive visual story telling going on here. I hope DNotes are hanging on to you with both hands because I'm sure the music video clip industry would love to whisk you away. The balance between the audio background and the voice over is just right as well. Love the 'drop' at the rocket launch clip.

I think we are all so trained by habit and media to trust our country's fiat currency. And in that environment, moving some of that currency into a new type of financial system like cryptocurrency can feel like a risk. People living in countries that have already experienced their national currency suddenly become devalued will be able to compare the risks more objectively.

Then once someone has recognised that the risk of their national currency devaluing is greater than the risks involved in cryptocurrency, they are faced with the challenge of selecting a reliable one. For a long time, Bitcoin was the standout choice. Then as the technology developed and concerns over processing times and transaction fees materialised, other cryptocurrencies gained traction by solving these problems.

At this point, choosing where to bet on cryptocurrency became much more difficult, because it was now conceivable that one day, nobody would want bitcoin and it could drop to less than a cent each. And as spectators realised people are willing to buy alt-coins on nothing but hope, the market was quickly flooded with insubstantial but well-marketed options.

So at the moment, I'm not surprised that DNotes has to share the attention of the market with so many other options. I'm just waiting for the buyers to get familiar with the technology and start to be able to discern the difference between hype and action.

Thanks, Tim. Excellent comments. We are trying to have different variations to make our videos more interesting. There will be a lot more coming. We want to stay on message but grounded on substance and truths that are verifiable.

We are building a trusted brand and it must be done with integrity and trustworthiness. It takes an incredible amount of commitment and hard-work, coupled with total dedication. I am very proud of our team. My job is to continue to mentor, inspire, and lead. We are committed to our vision and purpose in building a trusted digital currency that anyone worldwide can participate - irrespective of their financial standing. The right path to accomplish such grand missions will take time, relentless dedication, and hard-work. I am most grateful to have the continued support of our community.
