WE NEED SOMEONE WHO VOLUNTEERS TO BUILD A MAC WALLET! THANK YOU!
last mac wallet posted here wont work for staking - or does it?

I will try to setup an environment to build the Mac wallet. I tried yesterday with Lion, sadly I ran into some kernel problems.
Also i will build it the same way as I built the Linux Wallet (Current sources and modify the minimal protocol version to 70101 in version.h).

However it would be nice to know by 100%, if the current Mac wallet in the OP is not up-2-date.

if my time conversion is correct, the last mac build was posted earlier than latest github commit.

better check it yourself!

HOLY SHIT!

BLOCK 10326 AND SYNC!

whoever is successfully staking: dont you dare to move! Cheesy

if we get some other blocks i will try to transfer some of my coins from bittrex to my wallet.

in case bittrex is not up 2 date: would the guy who is staking send me some coins? just enough to stake myself? or anyone else (not from bittrex, that i can do myself)?

I would pay them back with interest as soon as my own coins arrive!

I am using one of the compiled mac wallets posted here.  This is my "getinfo":

Is that not correct?

can't say for sure from that info, because changes were made in repository without changing version or protocol version. but i am 99.9% sure that this mac wallet is not built from current sources - otherwise we wouldnt have the problem we currently have. if "you mac guys" get a up-2-date wallet (and therefore could stake) all should be fine.

thats why im repeating "we need a mac wallet" like a broken record. Wink

edit: i currently 6 connections, 4 of them with 10325 blocks.

@ 78xx blocks guy: if it doesnt sync further, close wallet, delete blockchain files and try again. Smiley
@ 10003 blocks guy: you need to start an older wallet release temporarily to sync further. see a few posts earlier.

maybe caps help:

If i can get my wallets to sync i've got a few thousand coins that could be staking. hopefully one of my wallets will sync soon. Trying on my work computer right now, connected remotely to my home computer trying to get that wallet to sync as well.

Got wallet to block 10325, still says out of sync though.

Leave it online for a while (current wallet, 10325 blocks, coins in it), should start staking after 3 hours. Or at least something should happen (in the debug log).

Dunno why the wallets still state "out of sync" though. Someone enlighten me please. Smiley
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 31, 2014, 01:00:58 PM
I'm stuck on block 10003 with win v3344. i'll try running older version when i get a chance.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwGL9FkcBurEd3BQbjV3dFV2MEk/edit?pli=1

Thats the "old" wallet.

And make a backup of your triangles folder in %appdata% first - only to be safe.

EDIT: Couple of 10325 block up-2-date clients now, looking good so far. Now we only need stakers.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 31, 2014, 12:06:10 PM
triangles-win32_qt_v3344_illuminatus

that release should be good as i built it from current sources.

is your wallet synced to block 10325? or stuck somewhere?

if it is stuck, do the following:

stop current wallet. start old win wallet release (some already synced blocks will be "cut off" - 74xx blocks should stay), stop old release, start current wallet again - syncing should happen.

worked for me, wallet synced up to 10325. maybe repeat if not working at first try.

does this help and/or describe your current situation? or are you already synced to block 10325?

and "you" have messed it all up by building all kinds of shit-wallets here and there instead of staying to the core.

This is normally avoided by the dev linking to 'official' mac and windows wallets in the OP. But I guess 'your' witty charm and tender demeanor make up for 'your' lack of any organization.

'My' dysfunctional wallet has almost 1000 coins in it. But 'it' won't sync since networks don't run on 'wit'.

Win, mac or linux?

Mac I guess?

Anyway, if you're officially abandoning the coin, we can look for another developer.  Are you?

Thanks

less talking, more mac wallet compiling. anyone?
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 30, 2014, 01:21:45 PM
maybe, maybe not. if there is, thats probably not too complicated to resolve later in a second step. we will see if and when we get staking "illuminatus" wallets online.

for now, wallets should be compiled with current sources and MIN_PROTO_VERSION set to 70101 in version.h (to prevent accepting connections from "Pyramid" version clients) though.

main obstacle is we have no current mac built and i figure there are some staking wallets with version 70100. if we get these clients to move to 70101 (or "Illuminatus") we probably will have a working blockchain again.

to conclude: first step should be to compile a mac wallet. i dont have the needed environment so someone else has to do it.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 30, 2014, 11:21:59 AM
It seems like dev has abandoned us by these posts:

If I can offer to help you guys out - I have a working TOR-ANON in Triangles that can easily be ported over to MACD also.

It will require that a few of you step it up and stake enough coins to be working as super-nodes before and after anon.

worth noticing: When I added ANON to Triangles the price went up so high that everyone sent off their coins to Bittrex and shut off the network behind them, just letting you know that if I help you out - donīt do the same mistake as my peeps did.

Iīll be around.

I can help you guys implement TOR-technology. I have a working TOR on Triangles that can be ported over.

Are there any developers willing to relaunch this coin (even this dev if he hasn't fully abandoned it) by giving us an extra thousand 10 reward blocks of POW and a windows and mac wallet so we can get this chain moving again and breathe some life into the coin?

I bought up a few thousand coins at 1000 satoshi and would be willing to pay 2000 TRI or 3.33% of the new total (60,000) to the developer who does the above.  The community has to agree to this idea before you start work.

We are already on bittrex and coinmarketcap, which is a great head start for any new coin.

Anyone else willing to chip in?  Thoughts on this?

This could easily be a speculative $300,000 coin.  3.33% of $300,000 is $10,000.

I am willing to assist where i can - compiling win wallets is the least i can do.

- Dev (or some dev) would have to fix the sources so that Clients will sync properly without the need of workarounds again.
- Also its obviously a problem to find someone who can and will compile the Mac wallet.

If these 2 things above happen, we are good to go.

@3angle: Are you finished here or still on board?

812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 29, 2014, 07:21:41 PM
Nothing will happen until this coin is repaired.

Several people posted compiled wallets, where dev did not make any statement. He is out of this coin and with his triangles, really all of you should know why.

Linux wallet is not passing 9500 (todays build, which is actually not different from previous builds).

If community does not overtake, TRI will be dead if it's not already since couple of days.

Theres only one way to make clients fully sync in one attempt again: dev (or someone) would have to change sources so we dont get a lot of these in debug log:

ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: check kernel failed on coinstake 7b7e1b49893dcfd725704ad7436adfc1e28e46aab1ef795ba3fc0d74a3e7dd69, hashProof=9af869cccf63fd5ac003b7556509384f34cae69e26fad74dc9a19e9e8e902da1
WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block 59201dd989ad65f03215226ce2d0d7cc212916df0a97c2726978269b6fe3069b

But thats not crucial for getting the blockchain moving again since https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=697634.msg8075888#msg8075888 works as a workaround.

To get the blockchain moving, we need:

staking(!) clients with min_proto_version set to 70101(!). we need a mac wallet from current sources for that!

win exists, linux works,.....

813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 29, 2014, 11:46:36 AM
seems this dev is busier posting in other threads on bct and trading other coins than taking care of his own coin..

Seems like the watch has 24h Smiley

I was over at QuatlooCoin - amazed by their new invention, something that donīt come along every day around here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=711966.0;all

But yes - Triangles - You are always on my mind, or in my behind - which is cool and all Smiley

What you need to do in regards of Triangle is to upgrade to the latest wallet and stake coins.
That will make the network smooth. If none of you stake - the network will be stuck.

I donīt have a premine to stake, so this must be done by the community - specially you hardcore miners who mined the hell out of it during PoW.

There is only so much I can do in this case - so please do what I say - upgrade your wallets or remain in cold storage until things flow again.

by upgrading wallets he means: someone of the Mac users, please make a new built with min_proto_version 70101.

@ dev: maybe add the win wallet i posted yesterday to the OP?
814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QTL] Quatloo, A DarkWaveGravity Scrypt Coin LAUNCHED! 6/27/2014 on: July 29, 2014, 10:12:03 AM
Hahahahaha - you guys Cheesy
That was me - testing out the stab-function in the Quatloo-trader.

Made you all talk about it and making screenshots Smiley

LOL - Even provoked some of you to sell cheap coins down to my buy-walls

This APP is the best thing that has happen to Altcoins!

DEV: +1

oh wow was it, lol give me a break, no one needs to test using 5btc buy/sells lol. its clear volume is being manipulate. still doesn't change the fact that premine is huge and ipominer has 50000 coins and the others too. bet dev has around 400k coins left current 65btc.

the DEV in this coin deserve every premined coin he has - this is probably the ONLY premined coin I will approve.

You know why.

You coin needs you, sir. Wink
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 29, 2014, 05:35:01 AM
if we get enough clients to that point (block 10325, current sources and min_proto_version 70101 - but we need some staking clients!), the blockchain should move again.

this would require a new mac built - someone in for that?

unfortunetely i cant help with the staking part, my coins are stuck @ bittrex.

I am on the most recently uploaded mac client, at 10325, and have some coins in my wallet.  Is there a further update that needs to be done for the mac build?

Dunno, is the most recent mac client built from latest sources? I think, it isnt - at least not the client that was postet in this forum. Thats probably the cause for this issue. Win & Linux wallets now being built with curent sources, Mac client isnt - last change in kernel is probably missing. Same for min_proto_version 70101, probably not set.

But we need to verify that. Or someone builts a mac client with current sources and publishes it.

Devs would also have to update sources so that clients dont get stuck synchronizing the blockchain because they have to verify PoS blocks created by different client versions (what probably happened here) - although this is not crucial for getting the blockchain moving again in the first place.

Here's my blk0001.dat with 10325 blocks downloaded.

https://mega.co.nz/#!w5EHwBJQ!9QRVUg_GdY_CRMqKQmsnpRtIee9T3A0N2_XQHPm3Jww

You can try running:
triangles-qt -loadblock="path to this blk0001.dat file"

oO Haha!
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRI] on: July 28, 2014, 07:25:03 PM
stuck @ block 10000 with win wallet, a lot of these in debug log:

ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: check kernel failed on coinstake 7b7e1b49893dcfd725704ad7436adfc1e28e46aab1ef795ba3fc0d74a3e7dd69, hashProof=9af869cccf63fd5ac003b7556509384f34cae69e26fad74dc9a19e9e8e902da1

Is the Mac built done with the latest github sources?

Edit: Probably not. Last changes were in kernel so thats likely the issue. Can someone make a Mac and/or Linux built with current sources and upload them (and set min_proto_version to 70101 in version.h - i did that in win32 wallet)?

Windows users please try the win wallet I posted a page earlier. Especially if you have coins for staking in your wallet

My guess is that we might get that bitch moving again if we bring staking wallets with the current codebase online - i  have no coins to stake in wallet and Mac wallets are probably out of date. :|

Since i have a working windows dev environment for windows now, im willing to help (compiling new versions etc).

Somebody would have to tell me what to do Wink
