801  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Groupbuy] Jupiter KNCMiner (0.5 BTC shares) 12 sold! [CLOSED] !!! on: June 16, 2013, 06:00:52 PM
You can send your BTC directly to your wallet, but funding your account must go through weexchange.
Can you explain to me how ?
I had a look at their FAQ:

Where do I go to deposit or withdraw BTC?
A: To transfer either way, you MUST link a WeExchange account. (Click here for instructions linking a WeExchange Account)
To Deposit BTC:
Log into WeExchange and click on 'Direct Exchange'->'Merchants'. Enter the amount in BitFunder's deposit field.
To Withdraw BTC:
Goto the Transactions page and look on the right hand side.

Seems to me I need a WeExchange account :-(

quick question, if you were in their same situation, having a LOT of bitcoin transactions/shareholders to look at, do you prefer to give out the dividends to the shareholder manually?

Personally, i could go mental just to think of it Tongue just my two cents there
To be honest, yes. It's not that hard to create a script that feeds the payments to bitcoind or bitcoin-qt.
But as I said again, I am OK with the current setup, I just don't want my BTC on a website.

Although I like the idea of the IPO, I am not particularly trilled by the idea that yet two more parties are involved in our income from the GB. I just want my income in my own wallet, period.

Hence the following question:

I have tried to find a way to automatically withdraw from BitFunder/WeExchange the moment anything is being deposit on my account but haven't found it yet.

Is there a way to do this ?
805  Economy / Securities / Re: Why are people buying asic mining shares? are they insane? on: June 14, 2013, 03:21:19 PM
A weekly dividend of more than 1% is very good.
And if the performance continues like it is, the shares will probably increase in price.
So bottom line: good investment.
806  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Sorry i am sure this is a silly question for some !! tip given for help!!! on: June 14, 2013, 12:39:58 PM
If you download the latest version of cgminer (3.2.0) you  just specify pool, user and pwd and it will discover the sticks automagically.
807  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's [Live] 14 Sold [Selling Jupiter #15] on: June 14, 2013, 05:54:51 AM
I didn't see much of a discussion of the recurring hosting expenses.  It doesn't look like kncminer has released these details yet.  Hmm. What if they're prohibitively high?
We'll worry about that when the time comes ...
Plenty of colocation to choose from when KnC gets it wrong ;-)
808  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: June 11, 2013, 04:44:19 PM
Whats needed:
  • Power supply that provides 12V (Standard-ATX, Brick, other)
  • something that can run cgminer. (Computer, RaspPi, Wifi-Router, NAS, Laptop)
  • Stacking cable, if using more then 1 board
  • Cool place to put the boards, where no one runs into or steps on them (would hurt more then lego!)
+ fan(s) ?
809  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Groupbuy] Jupiter KNCMiner (0.5 BTC shares) 12 sold! [CLOSED] !!! on: June 11, 2013, 12:56:55 PM
yeah for someone its yes, some say no.

for me if i have all the 12 machine sure no, i would rather join some pool with small % of fee, better luck pool smoother/stable income, and half of the work is solved by them ( i assume solo mine do need some local configuration which take times and who knows what will happen )
It's not that hard anymore to set up a local pool with all the software that is available.
810  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Groupbuy] Jupiter KNCMiner (0.5 BTC shares) 12 sold! [CLOSED] !!! on: June 11, 2013, 12:39:12 PM
https://eclipsemc.com/ 0% fee.

2.78 TH/s sometime 6 block per day , sometime 1 block per day. 12 x 350Gh/s = 4.2TH/s so go figure.
You're are not taking into account that the difficulty will probably be 3x to 10x the current value by the time the 12 miners are online.
There are many ASIC machines coming online in the coming few months: Avalon Batch 2, 3 and the DIY projects. BFL, Asicminer, Bitfurry, KnC and maybe others.... Enough food for thought can be read about it on this forum!

813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF Studying Bitcoin and planning attacks on it (link to paper) on: June 10, 2013, 08:10:30 PM
the us government once declared alcohol illegal-maybe you remember the out come? cocain and unlicensed weapons are illegal- maybe you know the position in the us today? Likewise for any other country.
Could you buy any of those in a shop at the time it was illegal ?
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF Studying Bitcoin and planning attacks on it (link to paper) on: June 10, 2013, 06:15:32 PM
So declaring bitcoins illegal will end bitcoins as we know it today.

How do you declare bitcoins illegal ?
As long as I can send a signed (transaction) message or a private key to somenone, bitcoins can be traded, right ?

A business accepting bitcoins can display prices in fiat as long as bitcoins are traded and they can make a reasonable assumption about a conversion rate.
The shoppers are not obliged to pay in bitcoins anyway.

The US government could just declare usage of bitcoin illegal and no US shop will accept them anymore.
Likewise for any other country.

816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF Studying Bitcoin and planning attacks on it (link to paper) on: June 10, 2013, 10:36:07 AM
It's funny- a lot of people are hesistant to buy into bitcoin because they think it might be subject to regulatory attacks by the government. If the government did start shutting down exchanges on a massive scale and making bitcoin transactions illegal, it would actually artifically inflate the value of bitcoin, in the same way that illegalizing cocaine artificially inflates the price by 500 to 1000%. The value of bitcoin cannot be destroyed, and if it's more difficult to obtain them, it will just make them that much more valuable.
Do you really think a business would want to be involved in bitcoin transactions if bitcoins would become illegal ?
I think not, so an average person will not be using bitcoins, except maybe for some illegal stuff.
So declaring bitcoins illegal will end bitcoins as we know it today.
817  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's [Live] 9 Sold [8 Hours Left] on: June 10, 2013, 08:48:37 AM
And the question about the power supplies we will need.
I would say the participants pay pro rata their number of shares.
And we choose a power supply once we know which one are applicable.
818  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy]12 KNCminer Jupiter's [Live] 9 Sold [8 Hours Left] on: June 10, 2013, 08:47:20 AM
I got Bit Message running on my Mac.
Since I didn't want to use the .dmg package as mentioned on https://bitmessage.org/forum/index.php/topic,1690.0.html, I went through a lot of steps to get it going.

Some hints: Download sqlite and Python 3 yourself.

Bit Message is now running and it spits out a lot of messages(to say it politely).

I wonder if we need this Bit Message.
Why not communicate here on the forum like we have been doing ?

Same applies to Google Docs, do we really need that ?
Google already knows way too much about us...
And besides that, I haven't been able to see the document yet, don't know how to open it since I have no link to it.

Sorry if you think I am too negative, but that's how I see it.
819  Bitcoin / Hardware / AVALON UPDATE received JUNE 10 on: June 10, 2013, 08:23:40 AM
Bitcoin will change your life.   online version • update profile • unsubscribe

Avalon ASIC   ASICs on time; Business done right.
Dear Ben,
Not quiet ready yet, but since we did promise an update over the weekend, here's a sneak peak of the exciting two weeks that will follow.

For those who did not see Yifu Guo's panel at the conference can check it out below
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LY1xgGiejIc | http://youtube.com/watch?v=UtVx26LlNXA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD237oF7cCo

Let's get started.

First, there will be no power supply cable included in the box, you will have to acquire you own, it is an standard ATX power cable, get the socket for your country, we did this to save time allowing all the packaging of the Avalons to be uniform.

To summarize and recap the talk at the conference:

Scaling from few hundred units that we had a few month to prepare for into a few thousand units in less than a month have proven difficult, we must admit that we have bite off more than we can chew and suffering from "third-party dates", which are ever-changing. We are playing catch up and expect to soon see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Facts:

New SMT line is now fully operational as of this weekend.
New shipping channel secured and tested.
Sample chips has began shipping.
Majority of all the parts have arrived and ready,
which also means we finally will have time to go over tickets, and send out those trade-in payment emails.

What you can expect in the next newsletter should consist of the following:

photo tour of the new Avalon factory,
the operating crew, which have doubled in size, assembling.
piles and piles of packaged Avalons ready to ship.

Sit tight, it won't be long now.

A price of 2.3 and 2.4 BTC is mentioned in the OP. You might want to correct that ;-)
