801  Other / Off-topic / Re: Missing Crypto Millionaire Found Dismembered in a Suitcase on: July 28, 2023, 09:33:21 AM

Has anyone heard of him? Was he a decent guy, or just another wannabe celebrity?

This is the first I’m hearing of him and sadly, it’s no good news.
I don’t know why news outlets on social media headlines describe him as being a millionaire crypto influencer. He did other things aside trading crypto. According to the article, he was also a car salesman and rented out luxury cars that probably brought in more income than trading in cryptocurrencies.

To be shot, then chopped up and stuffed into a suitcase is also a telltale that he has made some not so nice people very angry. Perhaps some deals gone wrong with some not so understanding people. Most likely nothing to do with cryptocurrencies.

802  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Twitter Stock Experience the same Rise? on: July 28, 2023, 06:02:46 AM
The financial statements are not wrong, Twitter is losing money is true, but that doesn't mean it's dead or Elon has failed. I find it quite amusing that so many people have started criticizing or gloating when Twitter has gone downhill since it was acquired by Elon. But they forget that business is not always smooth, especially when we are going through a severe economic crisis. Maybe he and Twitter are going through tough times, but I don't think he would be stupid to spend $46 billion without knowing what he's doing. Don't forget that he is the richest man in the world and he runs 5 different companies. Meanwhile, who are the people who laugh at him, and what success have they achieved?

I'm not defending him nor being a fan of him but we need to look at the fact that he is a genius and I believe he will soon bring Twitter back to its glory days.

Haven’t you heard? The bird is leaving the picture and there won’t be a twitter anymore. X is going to taking over the spotlight. For how long, I don’t know.
When you proclaim Elon to be a genius, it’s obvious you’re a fan as it’s also obvious(to me at least)from your post that you're defending his poor handling of twitter since he took over.

I wouldn’t exactly say people are gloating over the fact that Twitter seems to be going downhill since Elons takeover. And you’re right, business isn’t always smooth.
About taking twitter back to its old glory days, I think that ship has long sailed. Twitter may never go back to how it used to be and that’s currently being proven by its future rebranding from a bird to an X.
803  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: July 28, 2023, 05:31:34 AM
By launching the biggest bloody and predatory war in Europe in over 70 years, Putin's regime in Russia has dramatically spurred an arms race around the world. Instead of investing material resources in ensuring the development of new technologies that will contribute to more comfortable conditions for human life, the development of science, further space exploration, now many states are creating or acquiring the most deadly murder weapons that can protect, if necessary, the country from such bloody regimes. Of course, this is very sad.

I think the race among countries to acquire the new and the best cutting edge technologies in warfare has always been going on quietly and most times majorly overlooked. But with the launch of the war in Ukraine, tensions are mounting all over and funds that was supposed to have gone towards something productive and beneficial for the general populace has been sunk into the military.
Admittedly, wars and chaos would drastically increase the tensions that’s already heightened and cause nations to increase their military budget to help acquire new weapons of mass destruction and warfare. Of course, gun runners would also have fat pockets at the height of any war.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC on: July 27, 2023, 04:56:36 PM
It would be really awesome if bitcoin payments were offered instead of fiat currency. We know that most of the world is currently accepting bitcoin payments in shopping malls for purchasing various products. As the popularity of this Bitcoin has increased day by day, it can be understood that the government of the countries will pay salaries in Bitcoin in many countries in the future. If we focus on one country then we can definitely say that bitcoin payment is really good and convenient. If we look at El Salvador, we can replace everything with Bitcoin. In El Salvador everything starts with bitcoins and what factories and institutions are paid by bitcoins. There people can take whatever salary they want in firat currency and bitcoin which makes the country really attractive. Now if the governments of other countries approve the replacement of fiat currency by Bitcoin then it is certainly possible to move forward economically. If the salaries of various organizations are paid by Bitcoin then I think it is definitely a positive step.

It would be really nice if salaries were paid in btc. For those who wants anyways. Not everyone I think, would want to be paid for their services in bitcoin.
While it’s safe to say the popularity and perhaps usage is regularly increasing, I don’t know about governments of the world paying their employees later in the future with bitcoins. I don’t see that happening. Paying employees with CBDCs later in the future seems more likely than paying in bitcoin.

Paying middle to lower income earners in bitcoin would mostly have them swapping the bitcoins to whatever fiat currency being used in their locale. I don’t think a low income earner would favor being paid in anything except his local currency that he can immediately use.

Just joined BitcoinTalk forum and I must say, I'm quite surprised to see that it has turned into a place where 50% of the forum active members are promoting Bitcoin mixers, betting or casinos. Was hoping for more discussions on the technology and its possibilities.

Welcome to the forum. But I highly doubt you’re new here. You claimed to have just joined and yet clutching your pearls in feigned surprise at how the forum HAS turned into a place where some active members also decide to promote mixers and casinos that btw utilizes bitcoin. How would you have any idea of what the forum was like if you’re just joining?

I don’t know what you’re really looking for. Cause there literally is a dedicated board where only tech stuff is discussed. If you’ve actually visited that board, this thread won’t be open.
If you truly want to engage in discussions about bitcoin technology and it’s possibilities, then what’s on members signatures spaces won’t really matter. Unless of course, you don’t want to learn anything and just want to wail.

806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 26, 2023, 11:23:05 PM
The best that can happen for PSG right now is if they can convince Mbappe to take the Al Hillal deal. That deal solves a lot of issues for PSG. They would not have to pay Mbappe the agreed 65m, they also receive a huge sum for Mbappe and have money to spend on other signings.
I'm just trying to imagine PSG benching Mbappe even the champions league and I don't see a scenario where that happens. It would be a disaster for bother Mbappe and PSG.

The best option for PSG is to persuade Mbappe to take the deal and move to the Saudi league for a season. The deal would bring in some money for the club and would go a long way in solving lots of issues. And I honestly don’t see Mbappe leaving for Saudi Arabia anytime soon.
There’s no reason why a coach would have his top asset sitting on the bench during games. Whatever issues there is between player and manager, the manager would want to win games and Mbappe could help him do just that. Mbappe is a player that at the moment, can’t be kept in the sidelines.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 26, 2023, 10:32:15 PM
Of course, it is just a friendly match, it won't be a very serious match for them. Moreover, Arsenal and Barcelona still have many schedules for the next matches, they will try to play safely. However, it is interesting to know how Arsenal and Barcelona will use the strategy in the match. And which players to be released in the match will be another interesting part, too. Although they don't target to win the match, but I'm sure they will try to play with their good performance to entertain the fans. So, the match between Arsenal and Barcelona will be still interesting to watch.  Wink

It won’t be a serious game but I believe both sides would want to win the game. I know both teams would probably not field most of their top players cause it’s a friendly game but I’m curios if Barcelona would put in Gundogan to play against Arsenal.
It would be an interesting game and hopefully, the players would put up a good show to entertain the fans. I’m also interested in the squad Arsenal would use and how they would perform against Barcelona. It’s only a friendly but it would be interesting seeing what strategy Arsenal has up their sleeves.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 26, 2023, 09:54:58 PM
thing that will happen to mbappe if he goes to the arab league in my opinion is,

- his career as a football player will end in the arab league because the competition there is not so tight.
- its selling value will drop.
- he will be difficult to enter the core squad of the French national team.
- he will never get the UCL Fifa trophy.

what mbappe has to think about is getting into a club that can give him the UCL title because that's the only ambition that mbappe has not yet achieved, real madrid and man utd (the issue is man utd is also interested in mbappe) is a good choice but I doubt mbappe is interested in moving to man utd.

Well, I think he may not be as relevant as he currently is if he moves over to the Saudi League. Personally, I feel like the Saudi League is the best option if your career is on the decline and no European club is willing to pay you what you feel you’re worth.

He may still be selected for the first team or the French national squad cause there’s no denying he’s a great player irrespective of the league he plays at.
I think he still wants to play competitive football and may very well be looking for the best club that could help him lift the champions league trophy. Moving to the Saudi league definitely won’t get him that.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 26, 2023, 03:57:53 PM
If Mbappe chooses the Arab league, it doesn't matter because his goal is to go to Real Madrid and Real Madrid will buy him next season because of a free agent, after all, it's only a one-year contract, in fact, next year, if he returns to the European league, this will be news. big again. I'm also sure that he went to Al Hilal. Because according to him, opportunities don't come twice with that kind of money at a young age he got, and Kylian Mbappe is not a fool, surely he only played one season thereafter and he will return to Europe. Because of his talent, he has European blood.

I don’t think Mbappe would go over to the Arab league even if it’s for a season. At least not for now anyways. I think Mbappe still has passion for the game and while the money to be earned at the Saudi league would be a lot more than he currently earns, I don’t think that would motivate him to make the move just yet.
He already makes a lot of money as it is and I don’t think the prospect of playing in the Saudi league looks appealing to him at the moment.
I don’t get what you mean by having European blood and having talent.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 26, 2023, 02:15:55 PM
Well, even though it's just a pre-season match, the excitement of the match will definitely be felt. And I'm really looking forward to this match. Arsenal have always struggled when facing Barcelona in previous meetings. But Arsenal's condition at the previous meeting was completely different from Arsenal's current condition. Well, we know that last season Arsenal has proven that they have returned to their best performance which they had lost in the previous few seasons. So the fight this time might be even more fierce than we thought. I personally favor Barcelona but I don't want to underestimate Arsenal either.

This match may not show the best performance from each team. Because the two coaches of the two teams will definitely not show their best strategy before the season starts. But testing new players who are brought in and trying out some new formulas will indeed be an interesting thing in this fight. I personally am curious whether Gundogan will be played by Barcelona in that match or not.

Perhaps you’re right. Coaches of the both sides wouldn’t want to display some new moves and strategies just yet. That would be saved for when there’s an actual competition to be won.

Testing new players as well old ones too and watching, assessing their capabilities while playing all the while formulating new strategies too. Seeing the performance put up by Arsenal last season, it wouldn’t be wise to underestimate them but Barcelona is no push over either.
Both teams are top teams in their respective leagues and it would be interesting to see who would come out on top.
On the matter of if Gundogan would be fielded in the game, I’m also curious. Gotten so used to seeing him in a Man City jersey.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 26, 2023, 05:25:27 AM

On the other hand Arsenal too tomorrow will facing Laliga champion Barcelona and based on people prediction Arsenal and Barcelona possibly will playing with their best of starting lineup and according to the statistics i can see Barcelona is the favourite because from 3 recent meetings Barcelona were unbeatable from Arsenal and for Arsenal they still unable to displayed good performance and got dissapoint result from Manchester United few days ago and today lets see their progress whether they can able to beat Barcelona or they will lost again

While it would be still be classified as a friendly, it would be interesting to watch as I think both clubs may very well bring out some/all of their big guns in order to win the game.
The statistics on their 5 last games played showed Barcelona winning 4 matches of the 5. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have second guessed Barcelona to go ahead and win the upcoming friendly game but Arsenal showed a lot of spirit last season and also with their new signings, they’re now a force to reckon with. It would surely be interesting to see who would come out on top in this friendly.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 25, 2023, 03:55:24 PM
I feel like if given enough money any team could get him. The problem is that Napoli is asking for a lot of money, it's not that he is not for sale, but more like he is for sale for a lot of money, teams would have to overpay for him. However, we are hearing about PSG getting a 300 million offer from Al-Hilal, which means if its true then they could pay for the 150+ million to Osimhen, overpay for him, and replace Mbappe.

Maybe Osimhen could be as good or not as good but he will definitely be a good player there and they can sign like 5+ year deal with him and that will make it a lot better. Mbappe deal was too short, they made like just a few season deal with him and that's why they lost him, have a long term deal this time and they should be fine.

Osimhen would be amazing and would be a valuable addition to any club in the Saudi league. I agree with you on your opinion that if given enough money, any team could take Osimhen away from Napoli. And yes, he’s for sale only for a lot of money lol.

They could easily bring in Osimhen from Napoli if they wanted and a 5+ year deal isn’t bad. But I would like to see Osimhen play in Europe than go over to the Saudi league. I think he’s still passionate about the sport and would love to still play real competitive football. He still has a long way to go before he decides to focus more on the money and perhaps retire to the Saudi league.
813  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 25, 2023, 02:41:54 PM
Peasants usually have many children - someone has to work in the fields. But today's children don't want to work in the fields, they want to go to the city. There are not so many jobs in the city, and entrepreneurs like to use cheap migrants. So there is a situation where a large population is a big problem. There are jobs, but few indigenous people want to work in hard jobs, and the easy jobs quickly run out

That’s a crude way to put it but you’ve got a point there. A lot of cases, people with low to zero income levels usually end up having more children they could possibly cater for.
There are not many jobs around for unskilled workers and a whole bunch of those peasants you mentioned haven’t got those relevant skills needed by employers.

Talking about migrants and cheap labor; sure, employers like to use migrants cause they’re majorly skilled at the job and are willing to accept less payment for their work.
Having the relevant skills is key here. Indigenous people should also know that.

Debt as a result of "Online" Gambling, a Youth from Indonesia (Country That Failed to Eradicate Online Gambling)

tried to end his life by drinking soklin floor

News like this will continue to appear in various regions, gambling to make money is not a wrong thought but being too greedy to win big money at gambling often makes you addicted to gambling, if you commit suicide like this because you are in debt due to gambling what about your family who loves you at home? do you not think about their feelings?

stop being someone who can't control your emotions and short-minded, the future is still very long, death will only trouble yourself and others.

I watched the video on twitter. It’s a good thing whatever he had consumed didn’t claim his life but he should have been taken to the hospital asap instead of allowing him lay there. He doesn’t look good.

Sadly, you’re right. News like this would continue to appear all over. People with irresponsible behaviors would in a bid to gamble more and in the process become reckless, take out loans from loan sharks cause no reputable financial institution would lend money out for the purpose of gambling. That’s where loan sharks come in. They’ve got money to lend when no one would seemingly lend you.

I think I could understand a little how pressured one may feel to go to the extent of taking his own life. In a lot of cases, suicide wouldn’t automatically clear the debt taken from a loan shark. The family of the deceased would sometimes be pressured to pay up the loan. A person under the heavy pressure of owing huge debts to unsavory people perhaps along with gambling addiction would think taking him out of the picture would solve everything. In a lot of cases, it doesn’t.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 25, 2023, 11:23:31 AM

mbappa parents should disown him if he reject such huge amount of money for just a year contract, its insane to reject it for trophy and personal recognition. he should go for the money, football is now a business for more money. no passion again, he could get the contract and sign for Real madrid next year. than to stay in Psg where there is no more love for him, from the fans down to the management.

Well, it’s a good thing Mbappe is the one playing and not his parents. And if his parents wants such amounts for themselves, then perhaps they should play professional football themselves.

I don’t agree with you on the passion being lost in football. There’s still passion in the game of football and that’s why I think European leagues would still be more competitive and recognized than the Saudi league despite having a shit load of money being pumped into it.

Football has always been in most part, a business. After all, it’s a profession for both players and managers. Players would always choose what’s best for them and of course keeping in mind the money to be earned.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 24, 2023, 11:57:14 PM
What a shit an a non sense it was that offer to Mbappe, i really dislike this kind of _"new" football, so much money involved without reason, only greed and business, i know football its a busines since 1990 but come on, this its so much.

Its gonna flood and cause a mass inflation on football.

I must admit, the offer for Mbappe is insane. Generally, the monies that is being spent to entice and bring in quality players from other clubs is really much. That's the high price to pay when you're serious about increasing the reputation and the competition in the league and the Saudis are willing to pay that price. You mentioned it yourself, football is business and the Saudis have got the money to invest.

I wouldn't get so worried about all that so soon. While they could offer irresistible amounts of money to try and lure in players, I believe not everyone would be willing to make the move over there. Money is a great motivator but it doesn't motivate or sway everyone to make the move over to the Saudi league.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 24, 2023, 11:41:13 PM
I thought that Al-Hilal would offer a contract of a few years to Mbappe. But they have offered great conditions to him. He will earn that insane sum of money in only one season indeed. In this case I absolutely think that he should accept the deal and move on. 776m euros for one season, it is just an amazing deal!

They claim that Mbappe and Real Madrid have already agreed for a deal for next season by a free transfer. Meanwhile Mbappe can take this formula and earn that much money. I don't think it is meaningful for him to stay at PSG this season instead.

Yes, when offering such a crazy amount of money to get a player, one would think the club would want to keep the player in the squad for a long time. The deal is certainly a great one for the player as I think it's more favorable to him than the club itself.

It definitely would not make much sense to remain at PSG. The deal before him seems like his best alternative as he could get to have a lot of playing time in a not so competitive league and also earn much more than he did while playing for PSG.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 24, 2023, 07:41:39 PM
Haha are you saying that Mbappe is nearing retirement because of his age? If I may ask you, at what age is it standard in your world to retire? Mbappe is 24 now! Cheesy I doubt that he is dealing with retirement already or that Manchester City thinks age is a problem in the case of Mbappe.

But they may know more than everybody else. Perhaps their did reach out and see whether a transfer could become possible or not and if Mbappe's people said that it is either Real Madrid or some absurd offer from Saudi Arabia, then there might be no point for them to prepare an official offer.

It’s laughable thinking Mbappe is nearing retirement age. He’s still young with lots more to give. Retirement is probably the last thing on his mind. Manchester City may not have plans for him to have him in their squad or they did reach out and could not afford to have him. Definitely nothing to do with his age.

I think it has always been Real Madrid on his mind but now, another mouth watering offer from the Saudis is on the table. Would the offer take his mind off a future deal playing for Real Madrid?
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 24, 2023, 07:10:56 PM
Well, everything has its own start and I'm confident enough to say that Saudi League will make its own name in the future and maybe they can expand if they are already successful until we can somehow say that they are competitive enough to play against the top teams in EuroLeague.

Time will tell until they are already ready for that kind of matches because right now, they are still way behind from the clubs in Europe.

All the top competitive leagues today started from somewhere and the Saudi league is no different. I too believe they’re on the path to making a name for themselves in the game of football. Any league needs money and the Saudi league has lots of money. They could afford to try and lure in any player they want with irresistible offers and have so far been really successful in that aspect.

They’re still far behind compared to other top leagues in terms of level of competition and quality of players but they’re quickly gaining traction with new and popular signings into the league.

People who think Manchester City are lucky in the final match against Inter Milan not not like Manchester City but they do not understand the game of football.

Manchester City in my opinion was anything but lucky. They had prepared themselves for the finals and was ready to face any opponent. Some might say Inter Milan wasn’t good enough to actually give Manchester City a tough time in the pitch and they may have a point there but with the form Manchester City possessed and the desire to win, I doubt any club could stand in their way.
This season however would be difficult for Manchester City to defend the title. It’s too early to perceive who would come out ahead to win the title. I can’t really say Manchester City are the favorites to win.
