New PBOC Governor Reaffirms Stern Position Regarding Cryptocurrencies

China's Position on Crypto Likely to Harden Under New PBOC GovernorWhilst attending a forum on monetary policy at Asia Annual Conference 2018’s Boao Forum, China’s recently appointed central bank governor, Yi Gang, indicated that the PBOC’s stance regarding virtual currencies will not soften under his leadership.

Yi Gang described cryptocurrencies as offering little to contribute to China’s economy at large, defending the government’s cautious stance with regards to virtual currencies. “In general, PBOC is maintaining tight supervision among virtual currency, in the meantime, the central bank is also exploring a better way for digital currency to play a more active role in service to the real economy,” Yi Gang said.

Yi Gang also again reaffirmed the Chinese state’s design to be globally competitive as a leader in blockchain innovation and adoption.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't lose your faith in BTC. on: April 16, 2018, 07:54:14 PM
Good motivation though. If you have been with crypto community for a long time, you will seriously believe in bitcoin as you might have been watching its struggles and achievements. I believe in bitcoin as i am sure bitcoin will certainly have growth this year more than 2017. I have been watching its trend in coinmarketcap. None can beat bitcoin 's growth though authorities ban crypto currencies, it is standing alone facing and achieving every mile stones.
803  Economy / Economics / Re: surprise 2018 on: April 16, 2018, 07:45:23 PM
OMG! btc prices continue to decline, most likely the price of other coins also decreased.
we need improvement in the face of this situation.
in my opinion 2018 really a lot of surprises.

You should be surprised to see some good things happen. You have mentioned sad news above and expecting a surprise? Do you want every altcoin value drop to the bottom? Last three days have been much smoothening. We had spike of $1000 in an hour day before yesterday and had around $100 spike yesterday. We can see a stability in altcoin price last three days. This is more encouraging now than seeing a huge spike. Hope this trend continues and the value hits minimum $10000 by July 2018.
804  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Legality in India on: April 16, 2018, 07:24:35 PM
Will bitcoins be recognized by the Indian Government ?

There are chances as long as the current leader is in link with the biggest business personality Mugesh Ambani . Son of Mugesh Ambani has gone through block chain technology and has formed a team under his responsibility. Working on now to release thier own coin, jiocoin. The leader of the government may form its won currency named Laxmi. Though it would take few years, there are lot possibility.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is going to replace bitcoin? on: April 16, 2018, 07:16:18 PM
I believe crypto is not going away but it looks like in the near future bitcoin is going to be a afterthought.   What coins do you think have a chance at replacing it and being adopted for use?

I don't think any other crypto coin can replace bitcoin. Though we do have many coins competing each other to take next place of bitcoin, its hard to reach bitcoin's marketcap. BCH and Maker are behind bitcoin with good growth trend. ETH is on fourth place and its said to grow threefold in its values this year. Maker has silently came over ETH and competing with ECH now.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you long term or short term? on: April 16, 2018, 07:05:51 PM
I am trading once in a while because I have coins in exchanges. Sometimes I buy and just wait the coin to go up in value before I sell, of course I know it is in dip. Now, which is better, set it to your expected price so that when it hit you sold? O wait for the price to go up and sell even if it did not reach yet to your  target price? Thanks.

I always prefer short term investment. I go with coins with high values like, Bitcoin, ETH, Maker, NEO and NEM. I just bought .040 bitcoin day before yesterday. Though i earn bitcoin from campaign every month, i still wanted to go for purchase as i had some money came from other source. I felt its the right time to purchase bitcoin as like other currencies. I always trust in bitcoin and obviously yes, bitcoin would certainly yield me more profits. Planning to buy more coins down the line.
807  Economy / Marketplace / Re: New type of bitcoin market?!! on: April 16, 2018, 06:51:00 PM
Honestly, I didn't try for this black market yet. Actually, I'm looking for a most promising ICO project from where I can earn some good cash. And SciDex looks like that project I am looking for. Anyones else going to invest on SciDex too?

Have come across few sites with same promotions, but its not encouraging to get into the sites or move further. Have much experience in scams and have lost much. So being more aware of issues and tackling them. I would better exchange bitcoin into my local currency and get the things i need either through online or getting into the necessary shops and purchase. This is more satisfying.
808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future of crypto ? on: April 16, 2018, 06:37:37 PM
I am sure everyone over here are aware of current situation of crypto world and some have already speculated this to be the end of crypto era and says that's the reason for the dump in value of all the crypto coin ? But I think there were not much altcoins in the past and progress of bitcoin decided the value of altcoins as they pump when bitcoin pumps and dumps when bitcoin goes through a dump and I feel these market situation are temporary and bitcoin will soon be back to normal so as other altcoins.

Crypto is going to be ruling over the currency market. Number of countries and people who will be aware of bitcoin and other crypto currencies are going more. The bitcoin users lives are going to be enriching and welcoming across the globe. Obviously fiat will be much more competitive with cryto currencies. We may have ATMs around and bitcoin may be around us physically.
809  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Singapore will not ban cryptocurrency on: April 16, 2018, 06:10:26 PM

Singapore's Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said the country's government will "not ban" cryptocurrency.
In Asia, Japan and Singapore are the best markets for cryptocurrency and blockchain in recent years. In China, Vietnam, Indonesia banned bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market, Singapore was very active in developing Blockchain and cryptocurrency markets.

Singapore has been a country setting example in many things to other countries. In its cleanliness, responsibility in ruling, treating its citizens, infrastructures and etc, Singapore is spoken out everywhere. Now it is open to adapt crypto currencies. Countries who deny accepting crypto should learn from them. Singapore is going to increase its wealth, name and fame with crypto besides they being always on top of everything. I wish every asian country should start adapting crypto currencies.

812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market will recover? on: April 15, 2018, 07:53:42 PM
The cryptocurrency market have experienced almost 5 months of decline.
And there is no clear sign of recovery.
How do you predict the future of the market?
Please tell me your opinion.
Thank you

Slightly recovered around $1100 in last three days. We had $1000 hike in an hour day before yesterday. Today we had around $100 growth in half an hour.  Hope to see a recovery bit sooner by end of this month. April has been a good month for financial. Hope this April continues to support bitcoin and other altcoin values to grow by this month end. Happy to see the current correction is moving away allowing bitcoin and other altcoins value to grow in its line.
813  Economy / Speculation / Re: Saving for your Children Bitcoin vs Cash? on: April 15, 2018, 07:20:32 PM
Like every parents want to leave something for children for their future.

Which investment is safe?

Bitcoin?
Stocks?
Real Estate?

I would go with bitcoin and real estate. I would love to earn bitcoin and buy properties for my children. Crypto currencies has to occupy its place amongst governments. Until then, its really fifty fifty situation around. There is a fear keeping bitcoin. What would happen if my government do not accept crypto? I don't worry about paying tax though. Love to have bitcoin accepted worldwide and crypto currencies are kept to be assets of everyone. Lets  hope for the best.

in my opinion 2018 really a lot of surprises.

The time has come as you expected. But not completely. We could see a slight recover day before yesterday. Today there was slight hike in middle of the day. These are good signs after a long red days. Though news on adaption spread over, few bad news causes the price to be so low. Hope to see price increase by end of this month. CMC growth trend confirms that 2018 would be for all altcoins. every altcoin value is going to be so high unlike other years. Lets hope and watch for it.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC vs Gold?? on: April 15, 2018, 06:55:43 PM
Nowdays, BTC become so popular. Some people didn't expect that the price will be so high.
But, can BTC survive in the next 10 or 15 years. Because 'maybe'  crypto currency just a trade mark for today and will be changed with other 'currency' next year.
And the price of BTC will be drop extremely.
As we know golds like a parameter to measure the inflation.
Price of golds always following the economy global changes.
Imagine if you have $ 1M, Which one you want to choose?

I would better choose both as an asset, but to multiply my capital and profits, i would choose bitcoin. Gold does not help multiply your capital but bitcoin and other crypto currencies would certainly support. Gold value do not reallly go up and down. If you look at the price variation of gold , you may not see a big variation. Buy if you look at the price variation in bitcoin, it would be too much. You will either feel to sell or buy more bitcoin when the price is too low. Profits will certainly hit your wallet very soon.
816  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Legality in India on: April 15, 2018, 06:40:05 PM
Will bitcoins be recognized by the Indian Government ?

It would take minimum three years to even understand the benefits of bitcoin into India. This year RBI announced its entities not to accept or entertain crypto currencies. But if you look at the fact, we can see en-number of bitcoin users from India have risen more and more. The current government may soon allow a business personality to launch his own crypto currency followed by government's own cypto coin called Laxmi.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price Going Down? on: April 15, 2018, 06:17:06 PM
Many reasons behind bitcoin value getting dropped down more and more. Negative NEWS on bitcoin is the main reason behind bitcoin value being so low. Investors being calm waiting for either price to be more high or be so low are the other reasons behind bitcoin value's drop. As values are low, the bitcoin holders are not circulating the coins and this is other reason behind it value drop. Large investors might have stopped moving towards bitcoin and focusing on other altcoin or ICOs. This would be a reason for bitcoin value to be at the bottom.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 20K in a week on: April 15, 2018, 06:07:43 PM
You first heard it here. Buy now. Put all your best clients on it. Blue horseshoe LOVES BTC.

I really welcome your confidence. Everyone here expects the value to boom like last December 2017. But at times we need to go with the market. Last three months have been so hectic to see. This would be a kind of common move with cryto currencies. Still it really holds back many investors coming forward investing into bitcoin or any other crypto currencies. NEWS on banning and deny in accepting bitcoin and other crypto currencies are the main reasons for its lack of growth.
819  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good buying price for bitcoin? on: April 15, 2018, 05:58:41 PM
Is it a good buying price for bitcoin?Might cross-border activity often lead to better demand for bitcoin? So bitcoin will do better in the second half of the year. What do you think?

Me too expect the value to grow by July 2018 as you said. Really had a good pump day before yesterday and today. A good turn back around $1200 in few hours. This is always the right time to buy bitcoins and other altcoins as well. As long as the values of coins are cheaper than any other time, its really clever moment to buy altcoins. When investing in bitcoin, you can always have trust and invest at any time as we trust that bitcoin would keep growing up and the profits would certainly hit your wallet.

Coinbase Uses Crypto Winter to Expand – Acquires Decentralized Wallet Startup

https://news.bitcoin.com/coinbase-uses-crypto-winter-to-expand-acquires-decentralized-wallet-startup/

Crypto winter? What crypto winter! The exchange arguably most responsible for onboarding bitcoin investors, Coinbase, has not allowed sour price levels to keep them complacent, conservative. Instead, they’ve maintained a breakneck pace, forming a venture capital fund, hiring top executive talent, and now they’re gobbling up competitors such as Cipher Browser.

Depressed prices force weak hands out, and ill-prepared businesses begin the sorrowful process of inevitable decline, issuing layoffs and regimes of belt tightening. Such is not the case for San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. The billion-plus in revenues, and climbing, company continues to expand its position. Business press has quoted its executive team as patterning itself after Google, including the possibility of going public, and acquiring competitors.

How you look at it?
