Some Christians are so obsessed with armageddon, that they are actually trying to make it happen!

Hi Pappy,

Welcome to the forum.

You sound like your going to fit in around here.
807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the Block Chain get too big and make Bitcoin unworkable? on: June 28, 2012, 09:04:07 PM
The current implementation of bitcoin does have upper limits. Primarily relating to bandwidth and processing requirements of transactions.

If the adoption of bitcoin outpaces moore's law, which I believe it will, then it will become unworkable unless a solution is found.

I think a solution will be found which will likely involve multiple chains or clients that operate in clusters.

809  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speaking of things going pop! What do you think will pop first in world markets? on: June 27, 2012, 12:08:24 AM
I think we could see the failure of more banks and the respective governments being too strapped for cash to bail them out. This would cause numerous problems in the markets.
810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is now the time to buy? on: June 27, 2012, 12:01:40 AM
The recent movement feels like foothills to me, but I always get these things wrong. So I say no.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ECDSA dropped out of openssl 1.0.0b? on: June 26, 2012, 05:14:46 PM

This is also true for 32bit configure.

This:

Code:
$ ./Configure --prefix=~/Bitcoin/Deps --openssldir=~/Bitcoin/Deps/openssl linux-generic32

Needs to be this:

Code:
$ ./Configure --prefix=~/Bitcoin/Deps --openssldir=/openssl linux-generic32
812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie question on: June 24, 2012, 10:39:56 PM
When it becomes unprofitable for miners to mine they switch off their rigs. This leads to a drop in difficulty and mining becomes profitable again.

After the 21 million limit is reached all the profits for miners will come from transaction fees.

I sacrificed a goat the other day in order to prevent a 51.  Does that count? Wink
815  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of year price prediction on: June 24, 2012, 03:22:08 PM
The recent price rise may be preemptive of the reward dorop. If so I can see the year ending with a speculative bubble.

$12.50.

817  Other / Off-topic / Re: Globol Warming! on: June 21, 2012, 03:46:38 AM
Natural climate change is a fact. As for mans contribution to it... well lets just say I think the impending energy crisis is of much grater concern.

818  Other / Off-topic / Re: Globol Warming! on: June 21, 2012, 02:56:20 AM
Do you mean man made global warming?

The market does like to retest round numbers, so I'm going to say yes.
