8001  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New Trezor Suite Update on: July 28, 2021, 01:43:19 PM
Few things I noticed while using Trezor Suite software, I can only generate one address and until this address is used receiving coins, I can't generate new address from Trezor Suite.
So they took a similar approach to new addresses like Ledger Live where you also get only one new unused address.
What about accounts? Does the Trezor Suite software allow you to create multiple accounts where you can get a fresh address for each account, or are there limitations with new accounts as well?
8002  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 28, 2021, 01:14:07 PM
joking aside, it looks like he's using a translator. all of his posts are hard to read.
What I don't understand are the punctuation marks and the multiple full stops. What kind of crappy software provides such results? On a phone, the full stop is right next to the spacebar button. He might be typing it manually. But someone with such limited English language skills would surely make spelling mistakes as well, however, there are none in his posts. Spellcheck and Grammarly would surely fix that.

I can tell them my wallet password now.

There is one more thing that needs to be prepared, tell them how to withdraw and use these funds and trade them.
It's interesting that you mentioned "password", not seed or private keys. In addition to that, the sentence immediately after is about "withdrawing" and "trading" coins. Seems to me that you are storing your funds on an exchange or some other type of custodial service that provides you with login details and passwords instead of recovery phrases and/or private keys. You might want to consider more safer storage options and something were you are in control of your finances.
8004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine's roadmap of crypto adoption on: July 28, 2021, 12:58:07 PM
Yeah, it actually seems to be a part of the plan. The full report mentions working on e-hryvnia. According to the roadmap, they will launch in May 2023. But fortunately, they intend to make it legal to use BTC, Ethereum and other cryptos along with it.
The Ukrainians seem to be using common sense and a healthy approach to competition. We see a completely different treatment of cryptocurrencies from what we experienced with the example from the People's Communist Parties' Undemocratic Republic of China. Giving the people the ability and choice to make up their own mind about what they want to use is how it should be. Those less confident about their own qualities opt for bans, restrictions, and intimidation tactics.
8005  Other / Meta / Re: Have bumping rules changed? on: July 28, 2021, 12:49:22 PM
My guess is your Bump got deleted after several other posts were made. It served it's purpose, but it became pointless:
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.
If you think about it, a bump itself is in direct conflict with the rule about low value and pointless posts, but they are still allowed. I don't think admins consider that rule when looking at bumps. But I think you are right when you said that admins delete bumps if several other posts were made in the thread that got bumped.

I did some searching and found several examples where bumps are missing (probably deleted by admins) after more users wrote in the thread following the bump.

A thread and bump by Ratimov is no longer there > https://ninjastic.space/post/57390542.

The quoted bump below is also not there anymore:
bump
I would like to know if you can implement ERC20 tokens into am exchange?

I guess the mystery has been solved.

What I am about to share is a double-double production by the same member. I think both posts need to be looked at for a better headache.

It begins with:
why most.people are reluctant.to talk about bitcoin maybe because they don't understand or because there.are many rejections from various countries.against bitcoin, maybe that could.be one of them.therefore if.this happens.it's not just a car that can.be used to buy bitcoin even there.are so many other examples.that can.be used to buy something but at this time we still can't.use it.we just need to wait for time for it.to hopefully.happen
Dude, you forgot a full stop at the end of your last sentence!

The 2nd part came soon after:
maybe many people will do this if.the company wants.to accept bitcoin as a means.of payment to buy a car, but for now we need a lot.of patience.to do this because in.my country the government has.not released.bitcoin as a legal currency in.Indonesia. my country, if.the government had.relieved.it then I would.have done that to buy a vehicle
8007  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: July 27, 2021, 07:40:03 PM
The YouTube channel has to cater for newcomers to the world of crypto if it is to become successful. Whatever content is created, you guys have to ask yourselves will people who know nothing or very little about Bitcoin be interested in this? It's an advertisement not only for Bitcointalk but also for Bitcoin in general. If those watching the videos find the content too difficult or boring, they won't be interested to come here. Beginner-friendly content is great, and I would include short video reviews of guides and tutorials from the forum. Using those most merited is one way to decide which content to go for.

Some types of contests and giveaways are a must. People like freebies. If you aren't gonna give them something, they'll just go elsewhere. Those might not be the members the forum is looking for, but everyone has the potential to become a future contributor here.

Asking the community to vote and suggest what they would like to see on the channel would be greatly appreciated. That might include covering topics not directly related to Bitcoin, such as DeFi, altcoins, etc. They should have a feeling that their voice matters and so do their opinions. Make them comment and share their opinions in the comments and create a thread on Bitcointalk where the YouTube community is welcome to post in. The overall message to the viewers shouldn't be: Bitcoin and Bitcointalk are the best, everything else sucks including you if you are interested in it.

It's been mentioned many times in these past two weeks, but please consider the evil fee system and what kind of effect it could have on those who see a good video, come here to register, and see that they have to pay to get in. Some kind of restart of the evil IPs could be a possibility just to prevent that some comments under the videos come from unsatisfied members who were asked to pay a penalty to register.

If you can leave instructions regarding signing up to this forum and asking for help, then you can leave instructions on where to download a reputable wallet or to buy a hardware wallet.
Yes, but that reputable wallet from today might not be around 10 years from now or it might not be as reputable as it once was. An open-source software can turn closed source and a non-custodial service might want to be custodial.

At the very least, if your partner knows literally nothing about bitcoin, then you could leave them a list of names of a few users whom you trust and advise that they listen to their advice only.
Nothing wrong with that suggestion either in present times. 10 years from now, you might no longer be around (if you are on my list Wink), and that could be true for the other 2 or 3 names I put there as well.
8009  Other / Meta / Re: My account has been banned, I was unintentional, please give me some help. on: July 27, 2021, 06:36:42 PM
If all of that is true, and I have no reason to think it isn't, then OP isn't going to get her account back.
The discussion I talked about took place in Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of CEX and DEX. The thread has in the meantime been deleted from Bitcointalk. The last thing you can see is lovesmayfamilis' post in which he wrote that he found additional plagiarized content from Scarlett7777. And that was the end of her stay here.
8010  Other / Meta / Re: Have bumping rules changed? on: July 27, 2021, 06:24:57 PM
Did you edit the thread or edit something from your old bump or post?
No. I made no changes to the OP. Are you saying that bumps are and can be deleted if a thread is bumped without previously adding new information in the OP or any of the following posts that are essential to the OP? If that is the reason, I would understand that. But the rules don't say that a thread can't be bumped unless significant changes have been made to it.

Dude, you forgot a full stop at the end of your last sentence! I don't remember the last time I saw someone write the way you do. You do know you have a spacebar on the phone/PC you are using right?

this information is very helpful, and I hope there will be additional updates to the list of shops that provide car payments with bitcoin
Sure, it remains one of the things I can update sometimes in the future. But I also welcome other users to chip in and share what dealerships they know of that accept crypto payments for cars.

a few minutes ago I only found out that only Tesla implemented a system by buying a car with bitcoin but after reading this thread I just found out that a lot of sports and luxury cars can be bought with bitcoin.
To be precise, Tesla and Musk no longer accept bitcoin. After his successful manipulation and hype scheme, he decided to remove bitcoin from the accepted payment methods.
8012  Other / Meta / Re: Have bumping rules changed? on: July 27, 2021, 05:36:49 PM
Was it definitely the most recent bump that was deleted - are you sure you deleted the old ones before posting it (that's the main thing I can think of.
Yes, I am usually careful with those things. I always do a CTRL+F "bump" search in my threads to make sure there isn't an old bump that was overlooked somewhere after bumping a thread. It has happened that I forgot to delete an old bump, in that case the mods delete the old one, but leave the most recent bump. But recently, my newest bumps are getting deleted. I have the feeling there is someone reporting bumps and they get deleted only if reported. But if that is the case, on what grounds are they being deleted if they are not against the rules of the forum?

Not sure on which board your thread was; I assume your threads were not in "service" section.
Nope, they were not in the services board. Meta, B&H, Bitcoin Discussion, Gambling...

So I guess it is a mistakenly handle from moderator. Anyway,
If it was 1 or maybe 2 bumps, I could consider it a mistake. 5, 6, or more, doesn't look like a mistake. I am not angry or anything, just want to see what has changed and based on what are my bumps deleted when I can see that others are not.
8013  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: July 27, 2021, 05:21:11 PM
i haven't seen betja on your list. seems that they are gaining interest here because of the relatively good odds.
I haven't taken a closer look at everything they offer yet. I have noticed very favorable odds compared to some competitors and a decent bitcoin faucet. I will check it some more with the next update.

also https://coindragon.com/ is not yet on your list. they have ANN thread here and so far no complaints from the users.
I have heard about CoinDragon, but I have never played there or heard anything negative or positive about them. I'll check it out, thanks.

Hello I have not seen Futuur.com ( https://futuur.com/ ) on the list and even someone putting it here.
I just took a quick look at Futuur. I can't say I find the markets for the Olympic Games particularly appealing. They mostly have prediction markets on the overall tournament winners in particular sports, and that's it. Currently there are only 2 football markets on the whole site.
8014  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: July 27, 2021, 05:08:27 PM
<Snip>
If you think about it, the forum has already changed a lot since its inception. If you check this Bitcoin Wiki piece about the forum, you will learn that it wasn't always Bitcointalk.org. Looking at a few sources, it seems that the original URL was this one > http://bitcoin.sourceforge.net/boards/index.php. After that, the forum was moved to bitcoin.org. Now we have Bitcointalk.org, so the forum has already seen it's fair amount of changes. Another upgrade to a more modern software wouldn't hurt the forum or its importance.
8015  Other / Meta / Have bumping rules changed? on: July 27, 2021, 04:57:39 PM
I have recently noticed that the moderators keep deleting the bumps I make in my own threads. It's been happening quite often and I would like to know why? Have the rules or the moderator's stance on bumping changed?

According to the rules, 1 bump per 24 hours is allowed. mprep also explains that bumps shouldn't be annoying and one should not bump 10 threads for example. I bump maybe 1 or 2, rarely 3 on the same day. All old bumps were deleted in my threads prior to the new bumps.

I made one bump yesterday and it got deleted.

Before that, I had bumps deleted on:
- July 15
- 2x on June 29
- 1 on June 15
- 1 on June 06

I would appreciate some more info so that I know why it's happening. I often see people bump their threads and I would like to know is it happening to them as well?

I would appreciate if the mod who deleted some or all of these bumps to tell me it's him so I can understand the bumping rules better. I thought I did already.
8016  Other / Meta / Re: My account has been banned, I was unintentional, please give me some help. on: July 27, 2021, 04:43:38 PM
I can't say I am surprised with how things developed. I did try to warn you the moment I noticed your CEX vs DEX thread and found a couple of sentences that were obviously copy-pasted from someone else. You made excuses that didn't make sense even when I told you this is what could happen to you. Seeing now the post lovesmayfamilis made that contained copy/pasted content in another of your posts, it's obvious that it wasn't a one-off thing.
8017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Die testate with your Bitcoin. Death is inevitable on: July 26, 2021, 03:46:42 PM
It's really not that hard to make such arrangements while you are still healthy.
If your life partner doesn't understand or wants to learn about Bitcoin and crypto while you are still here, they will become interested if you tell them: these words you see written down on this piece of paper are the keys to a $500.000 fortune (change the figure to whatever you want).

Don't let anyone see them and never take pictures of it or store it online. When I am gone, visit https://bitcointalk.org/, register an account and ask for help. Use your best judgement and common sense. You will get the help you need in public and for free.

Write the following:

Hi,

I am "name here".
My spouse passed away and left a note telling me to register on this forum. I have a set of 24 different words, How and what am I supposed to do with them? He told me this is the best place to get help with Bitcoin.
8018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That feeling having your first merit on Bitcointalk on: July 26, 2021, 03:31:32 PM
That's why now I'm skeptical of meriting newbies. A few weeks back, it happened to one guy that I merited; from Jr to Member. Within the next few hours, he blatantly plagiarized the contents of a crypto term page. *facepalm*
You can always put the merit/s you intend to give to that newbie on hold if you are unsure if his post is original or not until you check it a bit more. Run a few sentences from it through a search engine and see if it comes back with anything. Or import the whole thing in a plagiarism checker and compare the results. If you are still in doubt, wait and see if he is still around one week or month from now.

But it's not really a big deal and it's not like anyone will get into trouble for meriting a user who eventually gets banned. If you check the list DdmrDdmr shared, you will see a lot of familiar names and many of them are high-ranked and merit sources. The general idea is to award good posts with merits but every now and then we end up meriting the wrong people and posts.

8020  Other / Meta / Re: How does evil fee makes sense? on: July 26, 2021, 12:42:17 PM
When this situation with the evil fee happened to two of my friends, they actually immediately gave up this forum because they were shocked by such a request to pay the evil fee.
They didn’t even know at the time how to open a bitcoin wallet or how to send someone a btc.
Yeah, that's unfortunate. To be honest, I don't know how I would have reacted myself if I had seen it. I don't think I would have paid the fee.

Being asked to pay with bitcoin before even learning how to use it reminded me of a sketch I saw at the beginning of the pandemic. I guy walked into a pharmacy to buy a mask, but the pharmacist asked him to leave because he wasn't wearing a mask. He told her that he was there in order to buy a mask, but she wasn't having any of it and said rules are rules and he needed to leave. A vicious circle.
