you can start trading even with 0.01 but your profits would be too small, so a .5 is a nice amount, just dont put all your eggs in the same basket.., and have patience as it is his new start in the trade so now he do not need to think about the profit but he have to start the trade and have to train and check himself and when he is confirmed that he can do trade and can earn then he have to invest more money in trade. I dont know how many miners still on, the big miners does control the mining of bitcoin and i do believe for the most mine bitcoin is the same as loose money with the current price/reward, its better pick those money for invest into miners and do get bitcoin directly, less noise and less worries.
I don't think bitcoin miners are losing money on their mining activity. The fact that the hash is increasing only means that they are gaining profit from mining. There are country that have cheap electricity and they take advantage on it. Some invest on free source of electricity and use it to power their mining activity. Ommiting the electricity bill in the calculation, it is very profitable indeed. For now according to other miners of bitcoin depends in your electricity cost.. and yeah if you have free electricity it is good sign that you can make a good profit.. But i think its more good to mine are altcoin since many people are right now are choosing to build mining rig.. and many people are already make a good profit to mine altcoin like ethereum,, There should be some miners that are taking a loss, but they do know that it might be a small loss, besides that they will be able to recover their investement at 2020 where the halving should occur and make their loss be covered in the process. Just big farmers are able to keep profiting at the current rates. You do not have to rent out your whole computer, you could simply rent your disk space and then earn some Alt coin and then sell that for Bitcoin. I don't accept bitcoin in my business if I had business because accepting bitcoin right now is not a smart move with the volatile prices you'd have to ask me one more time in a couple years to see where bitcoin is standing that time.
