8041  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you using a Public DNS server? your coins are at risk ! on: May 05, 2018, 09:47:28 PM
I always use VPN to transact. I do not know if this is risky or not for me. And so far I am grateful my coins are always safe. Whether through MEW or Exchangers, I'm always wary of using both because we know that Hackers can use DNS from MEW or Exchangers to get Private keys and Passwords. They are smart. However, risk is the part we have to deal with.

using a VPN to transact doesn't mean anything, it could be safe as much as it could be less safe. there really isn't a tight risk ratio attached to using VPN. a DNS attack is not on MEW it self , it is on rout from your PC to the WEB WALLET. anywhere in between.
i still insist on using hardware wallet for best security practice.

8045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would we know which cryptocurrency would be Scam? on: May 04, 2018, 08:29:35 PM
depends on how you define SCAM.

my definition for SCAM in crypto coins is a road-map that can't be met !.

most coins have a GREAT road-map where they claim really amazing things to happen!. so people invest in that coin based on that. only to realize after a while that non of the so called plans worked out. and the worst part is when the devs themselves know they can't achieve their road-map so the dump their coins before others do leaving everybody else with BAGS!

to stay safe, only invest in TOP coins. less reward yet less risk.
8046  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 20K coming soon, watch this chart and ease your mind :D on: May 04, 2018, 08:02:13 PM
Guys why does 20K seems like an impossible thing to you ?  Huh

The fact that the crypto-market is very small (way less than 1 Trillion $ in total ,420 Billion as for right now) makes it very easy to move to both directions in no time, some traders compare crypto to forex which is wrong, there is well over 5 Trillion $ trading volume only.

just remember that !

- BTC went from 6K to 9.5 K  in less than 18 days  this month !!! ( well over 40% increase )
- Last year btc went from 5k to 20K in 35 days ( 250% increase)

Now fundamentals are a major factor and everything can change at any second. but technically speaking we broke a major down trend, we building a new support/up trend which has been tested couple times and proven to be strong enough. the biggest obstacle would be the double top at 11-12 K. it may take weeks to break that but the road from 12 K to 20 K is going to be much smoother.

as much as i want crpyto to MOON in no time, i would love to see a slow and steady growth.

I do not think it is impossible at all to reach 20k $,the only problem is how do you define "soon"?

Based on last year BTC has a much better starting point for new ATH this year-as you say it take only 35 days from 5k$ to 20k$ and now we have 7 months by the end of this year and current price above 9k $ level. The real question is whether the last year scenario can be repeated,or people will be a bit more cautious with their money.

I personally expect at least 20k $ by the end of this year, but it is realistic to expect even more.

you see that BTC grows by 1000$ in no time ?  it's not hard for BTC to make it to 20K by the time i expect it to, it only takes about another 400B in total market cap to bring btc to that level, 400B is nothing. the only obestecle ahead is the double top at the 11000-12000$ . once we break that i expect we would see a crazy rally just like last year end.

don't worry FOMO will get us there
8047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you using a Public DNS server? your coins are at risk ! on: May 04, 2018, 07:57:45 PM
I didn't follow the technical news on the previous days, so I do not know of what happened with Myetherwallet wallet.
As a result of the increase in the prices of these currencies, there has been a lot of news that talk about such attacks, so I do not find the traditional protection methods will withstand for a long time.
So I prefer a paper wallet with public address(use any block explorer to check your balance) + mixing services (for privacy).

move your post to Beginners & Help

paper wallet is safe until you decide to move your coins, if you use a compromised pc to do so then you are doomed !
paper wallet is for sure much more secured than online wallets but still a hardware wallet is much more secure.
8048  Economy / Reputation / Re: A list of top 10 scams on the " Digital Goods " market. on: May 04, 2018, 07:53:06 PM
exactly, ! and guess what my list which i was selling for free has just got deleted Cheesy . so is it possible that one of the scammers has access to a moderator / admin account ? since i am just newbie here, maybe somebody else should with better understanding for how this forum works should sell the list Cheesy

I don't think there is a conspiracy. Post a thread in Meta and ask why your thread was against the rules. As far as I can see there is no rule against but I might be wrong.

I will try, thanks.
8049  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 04, 2018, 07:50:18 PM
you can imagine that you can make an infinite number of trades. would you be profitable in the long run?

go set up a demo account and figure.  place random 1000 trades with  1:2 risk/reward ratio

not saying you should trade randomly, but adding a good risk/reward ration to your trading strategy is a KEY.
8050  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 04, 2018, 07:46:50 PM
The probability of an event that the coin will grow by 500 is much lower than the probability of a fall by 250. So these strategies are theoretically the same.

not true at all, the probability of a coin growing by 500 vs fall by 250 is 50/50!.. the probability of a coin growing 1000% is exactly the same as falling 1%.

simple proof is when BTC was at 1$ a trader who set SL at .9$ and TP at 16000$ had a 50/50 chances regardless of what happened

price doesn't need to fall by an x % before growing x%. it doesn't work this way.

look at the chart and you will understand !
8051  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 04, 2018, 07:43:09 PM
I'll try to summarize this for all you guys who want a TL;DR: basically the best practice is 2:1 ratio what this means is that after you buy you set your sell target at a 10% profit and set a stop-loss at 5% below the price you bought.

You can't do this sort of thing, if you have a stop loss at 5% you're going to hit that in a day in crypto.Crypto goes up 5-10 percent in the matter of a few hours, if you are to follow this you're going to miss out on some big gains in crypto -- if the market does go up.

If you put the stop loss at 25% that makes more sense and matches the crypto volatility -- do that and you'll be good. Set sell target at 10-15 percent.

Goodluck folks -- I still like HODL more then any other strat.

so you risking 25% for 10% gains ? good luck Cheesy
8052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what to do when outside temperature 80-85 deg F ( 27-29 deg celcius) on: May 03, 2018, 10:20:03 PM
So after I disabled the 3 hot GPUs from the rigs, other gpus are below 80 deg F (27 deg cel). I plan to just use a 6 gpu rig to hold these three cards ( they will have 6 inches ) in between and run them in the new rig. Hopefully it will help. Outside the temp now is 86 (~29 celcius) and all gpus are below 80 F (27 Cel)

what are you using to SEE those temps ? there is no way on planet earth that a gpu will run at 27 cel unless it's doing nothing !!

8054  Economy / Reputation / Re: A list of top 10 scams on the " Digital Goods " market. on: May 03, 2018, 09:25:31 PM
As is normal here, sadly this thread will be moved to "scam accusations" so no one who needs to see it would.  Scams are allowed to perpetuate forever here but these posts go into neverneverland.

This is honestly pretty terrible, but in my opinion, if we made a thread about the most common ways of scamming with digital goods, it would have a fair chance of staying in that section as long as it was not directed towards any users in particular. Something sort of what I described in my previous post would probably get the green light by the mods, although of course, I can't be sure. If I have time later tonight I might do it myself, but it does get annoying to have the same sort of sales in there that for those of us who are experienced are obviously scams.

Just not allowing LOCKED or SELF MODERATED threads in the DIGITAL sections would resolve probably 75% of the problem.  Not all for sure ... but a lot more than the posts that no one reads anyway.

delete account permanently

congrats you have been just moved to the top of the list because you have the guts to come here and say bullshit when almost everybody knows you are nothing but a scam Cheesy

selling the scam list Cheesy, i do not think anyone has the right to move my topic else where !!

check it out Cheesy

You should charge .0000000001BTC but have the buyer drop a penney in a collection box to officially make it a sale.

for that we need to chose a coin that has 0 or low fees BTC transactions are kinda high :d.

let's see, i don think they will move it ! but should they do, then i'l charge a whole PENNEY for the list Cheesy
8057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CoinCalculators.io - Mining calculator website and mobile app. on: May 03, 2018, 12:38:53 PM
here are a few tips for easier browsing for the user.

1- set the default number of gpus to 1 instead of zero, disable all of them by default keep 570 / 580 on by default

2- for ASIC mining you have all algos checked, so calculating one algo the user have to un-check all by 1 by which is annoying.

also i noticed a bug, when i turn on " Unreliable coins" i get Sekin on rx570 even though the hash rate is 0 so i have to uncheck the algo which is a bad practice, i suggest your code should exclude algos that has 0 value even if they are checked.

aside from this , everything looks great. well done.

Hello,
1- default numbers are adapted for one 1080ti but after any change all the values are saved.
2- I understand you but you just have to do this only one time, after that all algos should be saved as unchecked for you.

Thank you for your tips, nice comments and the bug(now fixed) you have pointed out.

Good work

8059  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the risk necessary to make a big profit? on: May 03, 2018, 12:19:34 PM
there is no money without a risk, you take a risk of leaving your house in the morning going to work.

but you can always minimize the risk. applying a good Risk to Reward ratio is key !

feel free to read my post on Risk/Reward best practice

Thats a long story short thanks.

I just had to write a sort of detailed explanation especially for those who just started trading.

if people are interested I can make more posts on Technical analysis.  I am a newbie in this forum but being trading for good 6 years and willing to share what I learned so far for absolutely free.

cheers
