8061  Other / Beginners & Help / Beginners beware, another scam email involving binance. on: December 21, 2018, 04:17:34 PM
There's a new scam email been sent by scammers and if you don't do your research you'll think it's the real deal. The email sender is impersonating Binance and he/she is damn good. He's Announcing the Formation of a $1 Billion Blockchain Investment Fund." Which from the email is to start today 21/12/2018 the bitcoin address embedded in the email is 1DD1Vryc1LKP6hC8Wfavd5HYZpKemZeAmG (no fund received as of posting).

CEO of Binance exchange just created awareness of this scam email on twitter hopping no ones falls a victim.

8062  Other / Meta / Re: Multiple accounts plagiarized OP in Bitcoin discussion on: December 21, 2018, 08:37:59 AM
Edit: Judging from the crickets, this must be quite common in Bitcoin discussion. I wonder if I should give up perusing this board to hand out merits.
Don't give up bones, there are still few of us who contribute positively to that board and would love the board to be the healthiest on forum. The forum was created mainly for bitcoin discussion so if you can get rid of more spammers and plagiarizing contents as you're doing it'll be great.
8063  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Assets tokenization ? on: December 19, 2018, 10:25:26 AM
For now Ethereum will be the best choice for most of them. some might consider switching to their own blockchain in near future just as EOS and other ICO projects did. Most companies are preparing for the take over by STO's  the likes of coinbase already has a licence to trade security also AirdropAlert and Bountyhive are using the Civic secure identity app to verify participants accounts to meet the requirements for participation in security campaigns so no worries when the time is right you'll known how to invest.
8064  Other / Meta / Re: Could there be a section for sport on: December 18, 2018, 03:51:44 PM
Will I call these act of yours ignorant or what? Firstly you didn't take time to search through the forum. I have said it time without numbers, there are thousands of individuals on forum that means for every average question or suggesting you got, someone must have stated similar topic before. Secondly after all the various replies are  almost saying the same thing why don't you take correction and close topic?.
In summary, we have the Gambling board for everything related to sports. Which has the following sub-boards;

Games and rounds: for Spreadsheet games, forum-based games, and discussion of individual rounds/games on other sites.
Gambling discussion: for Discussion of sports games and other gambling-related topics which are separate from games and services themselves.
Investor-based games (name says it all) and also we have mega thread and off topic for whatever you think is worth discussing about sport just as other users have said.

So tell me what do you have to discuss about sport that can't fit in those sub boards?. This forum was create for bitcoin (cryptocurrency) discussion mainly, any other discussion should be seen as a plus.
8065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain or crypto jobs for total newbs? on: December 18, 2018, 03:17:03 AM
You have people skills, that's great. not every body has that e.g from Sharon121212 reply I'll consider user as one of those without peoples skills. You can start your career by being a Crypto-community manager. Bit first you need improve on your writing skills and get some experience too, so I'll advice you offer your services as a community manager for free that way you'll get clients easily after you have successfully managed like 2-3 successful campaigns you can move on to adding a price to your services. With this method you'll have both experience and a good CV to back your claim as a community manager. You can advertise your services on the service board Goodluck.
8066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giving 4 Newbie Members a Chance to Rank Up To J. Member on: December 17, 2018, 09:34:15 AM
And they have no interest in writing quality also. My earlier thread did not got any legit response.

since the lower rank users aren't interest in writing quality posts, the higher rank user who aren't receiving much merits should be considered. The decline in merit circulation & awarding of merits to average posters is affecting some of us. Not everyone can be a good merit analyzer like DdmrDdmr or scam buster like Coolcryptovator or be very unique at replies like LoyceV some of us are just average and should be given some chances to receive merits via the campaigns targeted at lower rank users who aren't corresponding.
8067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So not only bitcoin, Technology Stocks like Facebook, Amazon.. have declined too on: December 16, 2018, 11:23:24 AM
2018 wasn't a good year for most company, the Price declination is affecting almost every investment field just as tunapa said, but the media just focus only on cryptocurrency because their FUD is either a sponsored one or they see it as a threat to their centralized mode of practice. From the image below you can see the decline in price based on market capitalization is far bigger then the total market capitalization of the cryptocurrency market..

8068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies should focus more on the knowledge of the crypto space on: December 15, 2018, 03:33:27 PM
As a newbie, seeing cryptocurrency as a way to escape the rat race (getting rich) isn't a bad idea but just as you said, where they get it all wrong is thinking it's a "Quick money scheme". Remember those celebrating the 10000%above didn't achieve that in weeks, they must have hodl for years. Cryptocurrency has to do with patience if you don't have it, don't bother coming into the space. Success is progress achieved through a process involving sacrifices.
8069  Other / Meta / Re: Causality of meritable posts on: December 14, 2018, 06:29:03 AM
Can someone please clear me on this, taking the topic used by  KingZee above as a case study, it was a question he asked and from the replies his question got & they go merited, we can say it was a good questions.

"Good" posts that help build a much "better" answer from another user.
now from the quote above, is it advisable to merit a question based on the good replies when you see one because I think I rarely see questions get merited. I personally don't think I have merited a question.
8070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you prefer Centralized or Decentralized Exchanges? on: December 14, 2018, 05:34:34 AM
The general public won't trust decentralized exchange that's why centralized exchange are gaining momentum over decentralized ones. Blockchain enthusiasts mostly are the ones welcoming the decentralized exchange system which is more secure and supports the true vision of blockchain that's why even binance is developing theirs and to gain global adoption decentralised exchanges are the answer. But until scam decentralized exchange can be eliminated, i suggest the best choice is centralized exchange and if reliable/trustworthy companies can embrace the decentralized exchange system and develop theirs only then can I encourage it's usage by the masses.
8071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: okay newbies here, is my big question for ya on: December 14, 2018, 05:22:01 AM
Funny you're a newbie and you're seeking answers to your question from newbie which most of them like you (based on your rank, are new to cryptocurrency) so how will they have the perfect answer for you? Beside this is no big question and as pervious replies have stated, it has been answer severally on forum especially on the Bitcoin Discussion Board visit the board and use the search space for automatic searching or scroll through pages manually.
8072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason why beginner mustn't invest all for ICO on: December 13, 2018, 06:08:58 AM
Sorry for my bad English because isn't my main language
I won't say perfect english matter but as far you can communicate and we can understand you're good. Maybe your case has to do with discipline, you spelled beginners right on topic title but spelled it wrongly when ending your topic
That's my opinion why begginer
maybe if you take time to read out your write ups and crosscheck spellings before posting, half of your problem will be solved. Also you should consider joining the Fit-to-talk project to improve your english as it's not your main language

Back to your topic, I believe before owning any other token/coins you should 1st own bitcoin. Investing in ICO can come second with the purpose of making gains to increase your bags in bitcoin. There'll always be better altcoins but only one bitcoin.
Your worries above can be avoided by proper research done before investing in ICO although icos are now old news. Anyone still investing in those? If you still do, good luck
8073  Other / Meta / Re: Analysis – Merit per post per Section/Subsection on: December 12, 2018, 03:45:02 PM
A great analysis, as always! And with that, you kicked me off #3 most Merited. Congratulations Smiley

Congratulations to him, he deserve it. he makes getting many merits on a particular topic looks very easy than usual Smiley even in a time merit rewarding is reducing drastically, he still came through with his magic as usual.

Love the analysis, very self explanatory and simple.
8074  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos why should we use external script for find important data like ban/merit on: December 12, 2018, 02:21:15 PM
Great suggestion with solid backing (reasons why it should be implemented) and maybe the rank changing to banned suggested by hilariousetc could easily do the trick. I would love to add, how about giving the banned account a short period of time like weeks to appeal their ban (for the not so obvious offends) directly form that account instead of them creating an alt account to appeal their bans?.
8075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what does your digital currency portfolio look like? on: December 12, 2018, 02:39:14 AM
My portfolio is comprising of Bitcoin, privacy coin, exchange tokens and most of the remaining tokens are ERC20. If I was to break them into percentages it goes like this;
1. 40% Bitcoin
2. 20% privacy coins
3. 5% exchange tokens
4. 25% ERC20 tokens ( mostly utility tokens) as of recent bounty pays a major role in my receiving of those tokens although I still hold some tokens I bought through ICO.
5. The remaining 10% are alternative coins to Bitcoin like litecoin etc used for just store of value.
8076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A hacking way of myetherwallet. on: December 11, 2018, 09:35:06 AM
Scammers develop new methods (messages) with the same old tricks (phishing sites). The only way is to outsmart them by been vigilante. The more we discover their tricks the more they create new ones. Did a topic on similar tricks few weeks ago

Received an email early this week then received another one today all with the aim of scamming mail recipients. The email goes like this,
Quote
Good evening. Welcome to the Binance team.

You are registered on our website Binance. We’ll let you know about the launch of AirDrop to distribute BNB coin media to our members.

You can get up to 200 BNB coins if you have completed all your tasks - AirDrop
You can find them in our form. (To avoid a novice user reading this and mistakenly clicks on link, i wouldn't post like to form.

And I just saw another method they now use, sending malware PDF to telegram group with titles of whitepaper or other title relating to project to deceive group members to open file.

Moral of the story: always be sure to double-check

In addition, verifying the information from the official social media accounts of projects ( scam mails are sent from). E.g you get a mail from binance, verify from their official twitter handle or telegram group of binance before opening mail. If they didn't send any, delete and block sender immediately
8077  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 ways of making Money from cryptocurrency on: December 11, 2018, 09:18:58 AM
If you ask for my opinion on three ways to make money from cryptocurrency I will reply with bitcoin, bitcoin & bitcoin;
1. Invest in bitcoin, buy as much bitcoin your spare money can get you then take advantage of the ups and down accumulating as many bitcoins you can buy.
2. Get free airdrop from holding bitcoin and sell them when you feel like selling.
3. Hodl your bitcoin until selling just one bitcoin will cover your initial capital then you can think about cashing out some.

The cryptocurrency universe revolves around bitcoin, if you don't own one yet try as much as you can before investing in altcoins. There'll be better altcoins but only one bitcoin.
8078  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: a few questions i have .... . on: December 10, 2018, 05:10:20 PM

$100 worth at $18,000
$100 worth at $15,000
$100 worth at $12,000
$300 worth at $10,000
$100 worth at $8,000
$100 worth at $6,000
$200 worth at $5,000
$200 worth at $4,000

how do i calculate everything and figure out a good sell point?

Firstly I want to ask if these capitals are your spare money (money that if you lose them it won't affect your day-day activities or kept in an investment for years and it won't affect you) if yes then I would answer your second question together with the 1st

should i sell in increments on the way back up during a bull run, or should i just sell all at one price point?

Sell them in increment in future market, Bitcoin is just almost 10years old, now imagine what the next 10 years holds for bitcoin. picture yourself as an investors investing in 2010 and picture the gains you would had made if you held to 2017 and sold in increment between 2017-2018 don't forget for holding Bitcoin you'll get those free wanna be bitcoin through airdrops and you can sell those immediately for quick cash. Grin also as you sell in increment in future also take advantages of the dips and acquire more. Bitcoin is a game of accumulation
8079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What shall it profit you to invest in ico and lose established coin on: December 10, 2018, 06:38:14 AM
Right now there isn't any or less profit investing in ICOs although crowdfund isn't dead but ICO is. I believe in near future STO will take over the market. Maybe then you can consider using the established coins like bitcoin and ethereum to invest in them. STO has less risk but don't think it'll have the same ROI ICO did in short time.
8080  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which is the best and safest bitcoin wallet?? on: December 09, 2018, 06:38:03 AM
Hardware wallets are the best yes that's correct but I don't own one. I have three online wallet (there reputation is excellent) Blockchain, Bitpay and coinbase you can check them out. I have been using Blockchain and coinbase wallet for a while now but when the transaction fee issus can up (delay in transaction) I switched to bitpay which was faster and somehow cheaper. As of recent I have some fund in those three wallet. Might not be the best choice but I enjoy online wallet that's why i used them.
