8061  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: People are still buying 333 MH/s Block Erupters on: July 19, 2015, 04:22:15 AM
They are a great way to learn about mining on a budget.   There are TONS off them out there.

So someone can use one of these and for 10-15 bucks learn mining with an actual asic.   They were good build quality so I expect to see them for a long time.
8062  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 18, 2015, 05:50:33 PM
Sold out. Yes its a trial batch. Next batch end August…

that trial batch was 100 units right?

No official numbers given, but it seems it was a very small batch.
I'd guess anywhere from 50 to 200 units.

With 24 chips each I could see why they call it "mass production.   But that is a very small batch for sure.

Wonder if they are being safe doing small batch or if there is a holdup in process.
8063  Other / Archival / Re: July 11th to July 25th diff thread. Picks are now open. on: July 18, 2015, 05:48:15 PM
BTC/USD: 280 coinbase

Right now 277 at coinbase.  It seems this change were stuck in high 270's to low 280's.

I keep hoping we will get a little boost into 290's or even 300's but so far we have not been that lucky.
8064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If a Bitcoin wallet no longer works will i lose my bitcoins ? on: July 18, 2015, 05:30:32 PM
no you only need to have the wallet.dat and copy past it to new directory of your roaming, if ever a new version of those wallet will be release, in the case of an even more remote, and bad change, like wallet.dat format change(it may happen in the future)  we would get an advice much early before it will ever happen

you can't import the wallet from multibit to core for example but you can send bitcoin from that address to core with a simple transaction

So if i have a backup of a wallet.dat file from e.g. Electrum, I could use another wallet app/client like Armor to read/import that wallet.dat file?  This is what I am asking; I don't want my $ in the form of bitcoin depend on the continued existence of any single bitcoin wall app/client, because if that app/client no longer works with an operating system (as I have seen happen with some games), I would be SOL (screwed).

I would get the private key.  With this make a paperwallet or usb drive with it (and might aswell backup wallet.dat to).

So make a few copies and store safely.  If something does go wrong you can easily move wallets with private key.  Do not store them online, or print at a public printer.
8065  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to connect my antminer s5 with bitminter pool? on: July 18, 2015, 05:26:39 PM
Pool URL: stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333

As user name put your Bitminter user name, an underscore, then a worker name, e.g. DrHaribo_asic3. In case you have firewall issues, port 443 and 5050 (Stratum) are also available. There is no password check, any password is accepted.

I suggest looking at better pools such as antpool.   Bitminter is not really a top notch pool.

Why? What's wrong with my pool?

your pool is a good pool.

It just is a tiny pool at this point: https://blockchain.info/pools  .  Like one block in past 24 hours, I like to go with more popular pools.

Also it is PPLNS at 1 percent.  You can find a good amount of PPLNS that are no fee.

Those two things make it not a first choice for me on pools.
8066  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s3+ dead? on: July 18, 2015, 05:22:44 PM
what speed is it set to freq 225 ?  250?

try running one side set at freq 200.

maybe one board is dead but not the other.

250 would be pushing the unit pretty hard on a S3.

But glad you figured it out OP.  In future you might look into getting single rail instead of multi.

8068  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Quick question please answer, if any one knows on: July 18, 2015, 05:14:15 PM
Provided noise isn't much of a concern. If you're running past about 450W you need to start cranking the fan up and it can get pretty loud at the top-end.

Sent you PM please Check

with power cost at zero leaves only questions about noise and heat, if that doest matter either you can pick up a handful of S1s cheap

also as far as power supply i really like the dell 750w from gekko science you can get the whole kit for $50
http://www.gekkoscience.com/products/D750_supply_breakout_board.html

Is its better than S5 likes these? Because I have a 200$ Budget to Spend on Minor, I need a Minor which is able to Mine more than .3 BTC a month, If we remove the factor of Electricity cost.

Secondly how much noise they create? Is its too loud? can we make a Box and fix it in it to lower the noise?

If your going for used do not got for S1 look into S3's.  Yes S3's can be more quiet then S5's.

S5 is best efficiency as far as bitmain products.
8069  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Node edition of the Bitseed on: July 18, 2015, 11:39:31 AM
Nice idea I like the idea of keeping lot's of nodes on the network.  Looks very professional as far as prototype shown.

Only thing I see is I think your paying at least twice the price of hardware that it is built on.  But I guess a company does need to make a profit.
8070  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: First international online pharmacy accepting Bitcoin! on: July 18, 2015, 11:34:44 AM
Interesting I haven't seen this thread/company before. Do you guys do Citalopram, Xanax, how about Valium? Would be good to see a legit company dealing with those kind of things rather than feeling like a criminal trying to order stuff without a prescription where I live now.

I'm pretty sure they would not ship any of those.   If a company is dealing into that without prescription... they are not legit in my eyes.

I think your best bet would be a local doctor who can decide if they are a truly a need....  and not a want and provide prescription if a legit need.
8071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeking for Escrow Service on: July 18, 2015, 11:28:03 AM
Hi,

I am planing to offering webhosting and domain names for sale on this forum however it's really hard i think because my status is newbie and it's something virtual i am selling.

So my questions comes now :

Would please any escrow here accept to keep the bitcoins in escrow for the during of hosting ?!

Example : Someone rent for 30 days, escrow will release the coins in 30 days and so on

Look over in services thread there are lot's that offer it. A very popular one is OGNasty, you will find many people use him.

Your on the right track to get trust by letting buyers use escrow.
8072  Economy / Goods / Re: Vacation pack worth US $1396 Orlando, Daytona beach,Cancun, Bahamas, Costa Rica on: July 18, 2015, 10:39:32 AM
The website is powered by a company named "Preferred Guest Resorts". Upon a Google search, a lot of complains about this company show up, and this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpphi8PUPD8

Are you an representative of the company? If so, can you explain why there are so many complaints?

If you are not, can you prove the vacantion pack was legitimately purchased?

Their website's "recent reviews" are from April of last year.... kinda tells you a lot right there.

And  "Preferred Guest Resorts" is just a horrible horrible thing.   And you really need to provide more such as screenshots of this.  Just telling about it does not prove much as far as ownership of this trip.

I recommend not to buy the whole series S5..

Can you provide a screenshot?

How long have you had it, what are mining conditions, psu, etc?
8074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Newbies (or Anyone) Enjoy Paid Bitcoin Tasks? on: July 18, 2015, 10:26:55 AM
What I want I'm sure is very hard to achieve.   But I would love something I could leave up on a computer and make money without being there.  I'm not sure there is a good stream of things to bring the income though.  I know that is kinda a almost impossible feat.

The tasks I find interesting.   If say I sign up under you on company X and receive X btc for it.  And have a good amount of these.

That's my 2 cents I know you will come up with something good Smiley
8075  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cleaned Antminer S3+ thermal paste, now -------? on: July 18, 2015, 10:21:40 AM
Ok, I've just been on bitmain support yesterday all night.

The RED L.E.D that is lit up called "RF1" indicates that the hashboard is working. So the hash board in my case that isn't working, the L.E.D isn't lit up. There is a chance that if you clean the thermal paste off and make sure there are no short circuits, then the board will begin to operate normally, however this is only a chance. In my case, this didn't work, however I still think there is some shorts on a very small scale that I can't see.

I have been working on a C1.  I used cleaner and purifier and it still did not do the trick on some.  1 blade works perfect after it.

I think I'm sitting it in parts unless I decide to give other 3 one more try.    I think from doing it 3 are good blades and one has one or two bad chips possibly if I could get them all to work right.

I have figured out it is a time consuming process to do it right to say the least.

Is that in terms of the ASIC status showing "-" for those chips you was unsuccessful with?

Well the one that had that now shows only 8 chips and no "-".   It's been a really hit and miss project.

And with C1 is a huge pain draining liquid to try again.
8076  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mine opportunity with ultra-cheap electricity on: July 18, 2015, 09:23:19 AM
Places with cheaper electricity i have enough now, i'm developing 5 low power (36 KW) mines atm, but bigger and meaner is the way to go here... i mean, with electricity as cheap as 0.002 USD/KWh...

Ok I can admit when I'm wrong.  I did math in my head and could must have done something wrong.  If you can get electricity for even close to that ... yea that is a amazing deal.

I still like the idea of bigger miners to have to buy less equipment such as networking, proper electricity parts, etc.   Having it split is not a bad idea at all.  But I would look at splitting into a few warehouses vs hundreds of shops.    Security alone on hundreds of shops would be a nightmare.

But after seeing that electricity price you do have some nice ideas.

Yeah... i'm mostly underfunded lol... if not for that i would take the whole idea for me  Grin

Electricity is ridiculously low here.... i've just paid my montly home electricity bill, includes 2 air conditioners + 4 miners (can't stand more noise than that @ home) and it was just 2600 VEF, which at current "black" market (which is the only market, btw) prices is 4.19 USD.

Very interesting on some of the information.   So does the official exchange not really mean anything?  I find this "black market" interesting on currency just never dealt with anything like it.  Who do you go to to exchange cash?  Would a foreign investor be paying the official exchange rate?

How do you know they sold out?  And that is a bummer 1.5 months is a lot between batches.

Involved in what? You're dodging the question.

Hes dodging the question.  And he also uses "we".  Who is "we"?

I don't think any of us will get the answers though.  OP appears to want to keep it tight lipped which is weird in a scam accusation thread.
8080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to Earn 1 Bitcoin in a Week on: July 18, 2015, 08:00:36 AM
One thing no one mentioned is OP most likely is holding some off these coins, and he pointed you to his exchange.  So it's trying to bring traffic that would make his investment more valuable.  Make a title hoping new people will invest.

He does not mention any other alt coins.... just one... on the exchange he uses no doubt... makes you think.

If you listened to his first version and borrowed money, now this alt is over neg 20 percent down.  What do you do on loan now that money is lost?
