it is lively only because of signature, if it wasn't for that it would be akin to litecointalk, pretty much dead, there is a reason why theimos is allowing signature, because it increase traffic

if you can find a better exchange would be better, poloniex and cex.io have a good troll box and very funny moments, but they offer altcoin trading too and not only litecoin

I would agree some.  I really enjoy the site and have fun reading about gear and mining.

Some hate signature's but I think if used right it is a great tool to get higher quality posts.  And also getting people to post and help others and be able to earn a little bit of coin.

I think it is good for forum and posters.  But that's just my 2 cents.  There is TONs of good information here, compare that to BTC-e chat that was mentioned is 90 percent trolls.
8082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: July 18, 2015, 06:04:07 AM
The link is old and no current info from the Zendesk site, click it and you will see.  As far as getting anywhere with support, previous talks they pointed me to the new psu.  Nothing was said about any support for exact replacement, seems they don't keep much old stock around or are too busy devising new or should I dear say remodified hardware.  But that's my exact point, after warranty period I don't think they care what happens to our heater paperweights.  But I digress.

Send in a ticket don't take the front page info as your reference.  Tell the support you have 110 and do not have 220/240 and I think they will arrange to sell you a replacement PSU pretty quick.  Use a ticket and tell them you have 110 and need replacement.

And it depends on model.  S3's they have controllers and parts for (last I heard). But ones like C1 that were much more limited they did not have parts (last i heard).
8083  Other / Meta / Re: Why so secure on a forum? on: July 18, 2015, 06:01:09 AM
What's with the 45 second delay after you insert your password or user name wrong more than 2 times?

It's a little over the top.  Angry It's just a forum. Why should anyone care about security so much? Maybe this extra security should be an option?

Blah..

Its so you can not bruteforce a password.  If there was no timer one "bad guy" might sit there and just go through ton's of attempts.

It's WELL worth the wait.  I would not mind if they make it longer and add 2 factor auth.   I like secure.
8084  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: July 18, 2015, 05:57:17 AM
About 2.4 BTC around 1500 ghs. I started in late june in the late 20 's. So far paid out about 0.2 btc. I also noticed they have raised maintenance fee 4  days in a row now.

That is horrible in about a month if my quick calculations are right you should have gotten around twice that amount minus the fees.  To have fee's equal to about half of what you the machines made not to good.

I still wonder if they will run off one day.   I wish people would not fall for companies like this.
8085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to Earn 1 Bitcoin in a Week on: July 18, 2015, 05:53:06 AM
LOL. Why didn't you include the fake hypes and lies you do on these coin's threads? Its just YoBit and people are stupid enough to get caught into cheap hypes like yours.

Yes it needs a name change.  It is so bad especially with how originally he suggested getting loans to invest.  If this guide was something he sold it would have been considered a scam I bet.

But he released it for free and wanted a lot of views.  At least he did not ask for it to be a sticky like he did on one of his other guides.
8086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to Earn 1 Bitcoin in a Week on: July 18, 2015, 05:27:16 AM
I will watch this.

I will to.  But sadly instead of being a repeatable guide to help new people.  I predict this thread get's called out many many times for things no proof of or most agree can not be always repeatable.

The thread name really really needs changed.   Instead of how to earn 1 bitcoin in a week to something like possible way to gain bitcoin in a week.  Just realistic. But OP wanted lots of views and gave it this name.  Not sure hes going to like traffic though from this name.
8087  Economy / Services / Re: OPEN SPOTS [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: July 18, 2015, 04:51:27 AM
i think it's better to remove the speculation board and add the altcoin discussion section, there are much more constructive post to be made there

What does everyone else think?

i agree with adding altcoin boards

I agree, why is a service such as bit-x not relevant voor alts, it's super relevant for the alt communities!

It is slightly relevant, however the issue is that altcoin boards are known to be filled with spam.

only the altcoin discussion board and the mining board(especially this) the announcement is full of spam yes, i don't know about the market sub board

It took a dive for a while.  But altcoins are rising with LTC price.  It's gaining interest once again.

Proof of it is the new hardware coming out by SFards they have not even started sales (should I woud guess within a month) and have a 50 page thread in mining hardware - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.0

So hardware companies are coming back, and so are miners.

Either way on decision I will  remain with Bit-x Smiley
8088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TUTORIAL] How to Earn 1 Bitcoin in a Week on: July 18, 2015, 04:39:32 AM
you will most likely earn 1 BTC if you do it correctly.

On trading you just cannot guarantee this.  I understand your trying to help people.  But it is not something you can count on here.

I know you mean good with your guides.  Just try not to over promise.

Perhaps take a loan with collateral from the loaning section if anyone is willing to loan you 0.005 BTC
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0

I mean rereading it you suggest taking loans.... and investing it at a exchange?  Never take a loan to invest.  Your guide just has some flaws.  And I know you meant good but still flaws.

Look at my wording , i never used the word guarantee, because no way anybody can guarantee that.

I only said that it is the most likely outcome, which it is, and by likely i mean it is possible because i made it like 10 times already and still doing it.

Ok the loan thing maybe a bit irresponsible, i guess newbies should not take out loans, so i removed that section.

That is what I'm talking about though you mean well.  But it just is not a good plan for wide use. I feel like it hurts you to admit to being not 100 percent right.... maybe irresponsible wow.  How about horribly irresponsible.

If someone new found your plan at first edition it would be horrible.  They go and ask for a loan, chances are get labeled as a scammer for asking for loan on a newbie account.  Almost all newbies get this scammer tag when asking for a loan.   Even with the best of wishes, you sent them down a horrible horrible path.   You would lead them most likely to have a negative first time with BTC with all of the drama there.

Then to take that loan and invest it in risky investments... just blows the entire plan as far how no one should use it.
8089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WOW BTC-e is so huge!!!! on: July 18, 2015, 04:36:23 AM
I didn't even know that we had a forum! I been straight troll box from the beginning.

I this place lively? should I stick around?

my online investments look like $600

-JohnnyPreston13

dubsnsteps.tumblr.com

The troll box at one time I enjoyed watching made for a funny times.  But got old kinda quick.

I'm surprised you have not seen this forum if you purchased BTC.  This is pretty much one of the first stops for anyone.  But best of luck with the forum.
8090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: July 18, 2015, 04:33:29 AM
Dogie, it wasn't directed at you.  I know you can only comment on what's allowed or known.  But one thing you can help with is getting better clarification on this psu for us.  I've contacted support but there answers are vague and I'm left back where I started.  This is what you are here to help with since you can put it in terms we understand not operator answers like "It should work, just buy it and see".
Again the silence is bothersome and in the past it is a known sign that something is up with many companies.  Our point in this forum is to address issues that could easily be adverted by the simplest tasks, it's just damaging to a company not to listen.

All I wanted to know is if the B2 model of the psu will work with the S4 without additional wiring.  The 10 gauge wire with the hoop terminals.  My reply from Bitmain was to use the B1 psu but it isn't listed on the website so how do I acquire that?  It lead me to believe also in another reply from Bitmain that both sets of wires are included in the B2 psu.  So which is it?

Contact their support through a ticket: https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

They can help you get the PSU for the S4.  This psu they are selling is a good psu, but requires OVER 110 electricity.  So if you are running 110 yes you need a different PSU then the one this thread is for.
@notlist3d - Have you tried anything from the link you posted?  Seems like a dead site unused for months.  Maybe Dogie can agree, is Zendesk an old site and should all correspondence be through Bitmain's main site?

It's been maybe 2 months since I had a ticket on it. Was dealt with fast though back then.

It should not be unused, I believe it is most current way to contact them.   They did email at one time but I thought it moved to this.   And it should be maned... if you are not getting a response I'm not sure what is causing that.

But my advice is sound if you have 220/240 yes you can order this and use it.   If 110 no do not order this as it most likely will not even start on 110.  For 110 you need them to help you get OEM of old PSU, unless you use something else.
8091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The combined sidehack-novak usb stick review thread. AKA GekkoScience BM1384 on: July 18, 2015, 04:29:41 AM
So would I. Designing the thing is no problem, but being able to mass-produce is a whole different matter (mostly of financing materials, since we'd have all the tools required).

Well maybe some new 1386 s-7 chips turn up  and you get to make a good 18 chip board this fall.

Or even SFards.  I would LOVE to see something from GekkoScience that does not cost the rumored 1200 dollars.

The great news is GekkoScience has gained a following, and rightfully so.  So i'm hoping this will make companies more willing to let them use chips.  Bitmain letting them get some then being quiet is curious.  I hope bitmain provides them some more chips whether it be S5 or what ever is next.  We have seen Sidehack can do a heck of a lot already with current gen chips.
8092  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S5 stops hashing on: July 18, 2015, 04:26:23 AM
I have 3 antminer S5s and 1 S4 and atleast once a day one of the S5s will just stop hashing and when I log into it and click on status it will not go threw so I have to reboot the miner.  All three of them are running the latest firmware and not overclocked ever.  Anyone else have this problem?  Or know how to correct this problem?

Thanks in advance.

I would make sure all the connections are snug.  Chances are that they are but its worth a shot.   If so look at temp does that one run hotter then others? Different PSU then others? Or any differences?

And as far as software might try to load firmware again just to make sure all is good there.
8093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Nano - Stick Mining Fun! on: July 18, 2015, 04:24:44 AM
Do you have a fan pushing air on it?  The nano can get pretty hot and it  would effect it's preformance.

And yea there are actually 2 gui's.  One is in English and easier to use for my language.  The second looks nicer but was in Chinese (they could have added English I have not looked recently)

If a fan does not work you can try to run cgminer without the gui.  The commands are in the thread to do that.
No fan; I was thinking it would cool enough without one to get going by itself without having to be prodded along so often.  Perhaps I will try writing a script to get it going automatically.

Chances are you are going to need a fan it runs pretty hot (at least mine did when I ran it).  When it get's hot it slows down.  So no fan.... good chance problem is there.

And it is very easy you can make a batch file for cgminer if you don't want to use gui.  Takes a few minutes at most.
8094  Other / Archival / Re: July 11th to July 25th diff thread. Picks are now open. on: July 18, 2015, 04:22:59 AM
I have decided me guessing high is good luck.  I'm at least consistent Smiley

Really is surprising me how low it is.  I keep thinking some company will flip a switch and a bunch of hash show up, but so far great time for mining.
8095  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If mining BTC isn't profitable like people say -- how are OTHER people doing it? on: July 18, 2015, 04:21:10 AM
The "people" mining are not people but rather companies who typically are the same ones selling you miners.  They charge you double so they can get their hardware for free  Wink

Mining is still  profitable with right conditions.  Electricity price is key.  And no import tax/vat helps.  Sadly those thing keep SOME from mining.

Others that have right condition the difficulty only rising in little bits.  BTC went up some in price.  Really a heck of a lot better then most of us thought it would be.  There is profit to be made.   But takes right conditions.
8096  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: July 18, 2015, 02:27:51 AM
I have and I'm still waiting for another useless answer but I will play the game again..... but I'm running out of quarters!

Are you on 110 or 220/240?

If yes on 220/240 sure buy this PSU.  If running 110 NO do not buy this PSU and buy from their support.  No more quarters needed Smiley
8097  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: July 18, 2015, 02:25:42 AM
Yeah, but if a load of these suddenly came online, diff would quickly jump sooner than 350 days I think.....

We have seen in past what happens if a lot get intrested in scrypt.  The A2's were priced HIGH, very high.  Overnight they dropped in price.  This happened so quick people that just bought them never made ROI.  I have done this before with an A2 and I was lucky I barley made roi from renting high and selling it to make ROI.

If they can guarantee this will be best chip for a year, and no extreme drops in price yes you might justify a year ROI.   But one competitor can destroy this.
8098  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cold storage paper printout (how) ? on: July 18, 2015, 02:21:39 AM
Some tips if you have a old printer that is just USB and not networked use it.  Also try to clear it's cache after printing. The dumber the printer you use the safest it is.

And always print at home.  Never print in public, work, hotel, etc.   You just do not want someone to be able to print from cache and find your paper wallet.

New account's please take not of this.  Do not be afraid to ask questions.   When you are going for cloudmining do not just trust.   I only trust 2 different ones.  Just a lot of scams.

Notice there was no talks after i asked to see:

It mentions initial cost to buy. I do not see FEE's.  Yes I consider a legit site to have fees and be open on them.  What are Fees they are NOT published?

I'm sorry I consider facts such as where datacenter is, what equipment is being used. Heck if there is any equipment even to be more important than a chart..... no answers here.

You spend no money just spam that chart.   You have posted the same chart way to many of times.   So it proves your cheap on ad's does not make you legit..... why is not advertising good? Not sure there.

Most of all I want to see this answered
What you don't have is proof of equipment or even brand your using.   You never go into details. What country is your data center in?

End of story be careful don't be fooled by a fancy graph.
